This reminds me of the good old "Hiren's boot CD". Back in the day I carried that thing everywhere.
Still kickin'!
Fixed lsppy the other day with it lol
Still USE Hiren's DVD.And also the Geek Squad Official Boot Disc.
And you can put Hiren's in ventoy love it
I used Hiren's for years but then found "Sergei Strelec"! It is basically Hirens, plus a bunch more and being updated on the regular. It has been solid. Curious how Medicat compares. Great post!
Always appreciate your content and the work you do. Thanks so much!!
What a great little tool all in one form or another, some recognizable from others. I remember having image files on DVD and CD's i've burned then it all got stolen, glad to know i can get it all back again all in one neat package.
Outstanding! I’ve been using Hirens Boot CD for as long as I can remember. My first one was 4. something. I can’t count the times that boot disk saved my bacon. This looks like an amazing bit of kit. I’m definitely adding this to my toolbox. Thanks for the great video.
I loved it! thanks..as always , this channel is an incredible source of good info.
I like the way you explain the tools quick and effective
This USB tool is incredible. Thanks to developers.
I still have several different versions on CD in my old (and hopefully never to be used again) CD case (it has a handle and holds 80 disks, was a lifesaver / everyday work tool back in the day), plus a USB DVD-Drive (and a couple of working SATA, and even ATA drives), plus many other CD's and DVD's from back in the day before booting from USB and installing/running things from USB was possible or realistic. It is amazing, shocking and stunning as to just how much has changed and how far we have come in just the last 20-years.! PS: Just subscribed.
I no longer can find a good boot disk and UBCD can’t be found anymore either and could only find HBCD for a good toolkit. Wow thanx for this!! Well needed for a tech.
oh coool! Been on the IT career for over 25 years. Let me put in my tool belt :) Hello from Brookyn :)
I Always used UBCD 4 Windows it is useful when it comes hard drive issues. Also Ghost Symantic. Its very old one but still useful. I can customize even I can put menu wallpaper or even your picture.
I still have my Hirens disk Utilities, but this does seem to be much more complete in a lot of different ways. Thank you for sharing.
Could you please elaborate your pov. It would be a great help...
Just got around to viewing this video you did an excellent job. I love Medicat USB has another tool in the toolbox. Thank you!
Those games are useful, as someone who did tech support and had to sit around waiting for progress bars to finish wishing there was some way to help pass the time.
I have this tools already, but manually copying them one by one on my flash drive..but this all in one is a great
I just had some grub issues this could probably have fixed. Wish I knew about this years ago lol Thanks man.
Awesome video! This thing is the freaking swiss knife of IT!
One great thing about medicat is that you can remove all tools you don't use or you don't want to use and add tools you use. Since it utilizes Ventoy you can add any other tool you use but it's not included so you can literary tailor it to your needs. I am gonna make something like medicat usb for myself but i will tailor it for my needs.
This is a good tool and also tutorial man. I used Dban a lot back in the days. I will start using ShredOS to wipe old hds. Thanks!
Very impressive tool. Thanks for making this video!
What he doesnt show is the how massively infected with malware, trojans and viruses it is, a few might be false postives... But hundreds, HELL TO THE NO...
Thanks for the update and for sharing the info.
Thank You. Great advice. Subscribed.
Awesome buffet of Tools a.k.a swiss knife ! Thanks for sharing this
i really liked the rmprepusb customization but this is also really cool!
I will suggest this to other friend. This will or is one of the best tool that we will have in IT industry rather bring may external hard drive for installations and file checking. 🥰
When I was in IT the field techs had these flash drives, including images of all the PCs & Laptops we had deployed in our company. Our in office Helpdesk were able to do a network boot a remote PC into this image from their desk. Real TIME SAVER.
Could you tell me more about doing a network boot a remote PC into this image from their desk?
waiting
@@gtarules1 "waiting" = 🤡
google on how to insert network boot address into custom firmware.
@@gtarules1still waiting?
Thanks for this knowledge!
Thank you, I have been looking for one for a long time.
Next to HIRENS, this one seems more perfect.
More malware, more Trojans, and more viruses.
"Giant thanks to Novaspirit for overloading the main file server. 28k hits in 7 days..." - A shoutout from the Medicat installer
nice work... kinda reminds me of the old geek squad recovery tool, except it had multiple malware scanners that would run consecutively. perhaps you could implement something like that?
Very helpful video. Thank you for being smart and for your videos.
I personally know the guy that makes this tool. It’s pretty good at that and very kind to share for free no profit or donations requested. Do him a favor and give him a thanks on the Gameboy community where he post it to download.
Just curious, since the tool seems interesting. How can it be free, when there's software as Killdisk, EaseUS applications (etc.), when they costs money? Do you have to subscripe to these yourself manually or are they cracked? I dont suppose he'll be able to like lent the software to us, or am I wrong?
I'm sure he'll be nice and spare your bank info because he knows you so well.
All cracked. It is basically a bunch of pirated tools. Hiren is legit free software at least.
Cool utility. I always back my important files outside of the system on external usb, so my way of fixing my computer is just to reformat my drive and reinstall. But I can see how useful this would be for I.T. professionals.
You better off looking into a full backup solution like Acronis TrueImage, Macrium reflect etc. Way better than reformat and install all over and over again.
@@repairman2be250 both of those are good. Macrium comes with an option for self installation of the software needed bundled with the backup image for portability.
doing Gods work! thank you for this.
im a basic and maybe up to average user i find this video a little bit advanced info to digest but anyway its still interesting to explore these kind of topics for non it pc users.
Definitely a tool to keep in your pocket
Great tool, thanks for sharing !!!
I'm a DLC user. 3.6 was most stable. I really like the media creation tools built in.
dlc much better
thanks for this!
Greate tool for around resolved problem, Thanks a lot
Awesome Tool . Thank you 💖
Great review, thank you!
EaseUS Partition Master works great for cloning OS drives among many other facilities it provides. I've been using it for years. I am an IT professional for over 35 years.
Do you recommend Acronis or Aoemi Backupper?
I'll have to give it a try but I remember that often times, a lot of the included utilities wouldn't do that much unless you bought the paid for versions. Some of them just didn't work at all.
great content !!! thank you for sharing
Thanks for sharing. I’m a Linux guy, so I use mostly Linux rescue isos, but I’m gonna spin this up so I’m ready when mom needs help! I can just add isos that I prefer.
That being said, a great LINUX collection of rescue tools is long in the tooth - maybe I’ll get motivated. :)
is it possible to install a Linux System on a laptop that uses Win10 as an operating system?
@@nabilmajdi7672 yes
Medicat Rescue has several linux isos and distros with tools as well...just fire it up...I run it on a 500GB ssd and add additional iso as I see fit besides what comes already with Medicat...its awesome...
@@JoeLeeKha could you briefly tell me the difference between using Linux and Windows?
@@quesengar yea; I noticed that it already had most of the rescue tools that I use. I did have some issues with adding folders, but got thru that too. Nice!
First time I have seen your channel. This list of things is very interesting to me. I'd love to see your videos on these if you are going to do them or have done before. Or maybe if your not looking to do this can you give me a link to where this has been done. Thanks
Awesome video! Too bad now there is no ISO to download anymore, and this USB has to be build from a script
Awesome! thank you
thx for showing the way... This is the Way😁
Great man, you earn my subs 🙌
I’ve been using them for I don’t even know how long. Decade or more it feels.
SOME OLD TOOLS ARE GOLD
Awesome utility to have. Could you make a video in how to do it from Linux? It starts off on the correct drive but then everything goes somewhere else and not onto the selected drive.
Nice one. Many thanks.
Sergei Stelec is my favorite tool
Thanks Don for the information, allot of power in a little USB drive.😅! Have a nice week.
New to channel and good review
thank you so much brother
I used to use DLC boot for all my IT repair/recovery issues
awesome, thank you for this video
Thank you very much for this, It's awesome! Quick question: It has any tool to recover the Windows Key of the OS installed on the computer you're using?
Hey, thanks for the review, :D
I did not catch mention of the size of the download or the required USB size. For anyone else wondering, the download size as of December '23 is 22 GB. I would guess a minimum of a 64 GB USB would suffice for install.
An ISO that we could boot from DroidDrive on our phones would be awesome and I expect with some tinkering is totally possible.
Thanks for the tip on a cool tool!
32gb flashdrive is enough and maybe with write protect switch to prevent external attack such virus.
4:05 such invaluable information! 😀
What your teaching I did 35 years ago, You got nothing new --- but keep it up !!!! it's all good
shut up kid
Amazing, thanks
Thank you!
Have you heard about Sergei Strelec? It is a very nice tool, I have been using it for the last 7 years at least, and it is the best I tried so far...
Use it myself.
I agree with you. I was using Hiren's BootCD and live linux isos when it comes to resque files etc. I wanted to try out Medicat but it was pain in the a**! 1) Download size is too large. 2) It didn't load Win10 PE in my case. 3) I think there is not enough tools and programs . Sergei Strelec is best so far. I can even add more programs in to it.
Hey😊 thanks so much for this video, will you be able to make a video of cloning a drive through any of the software in medicat please . 😊 I want ro make a recovery drive, however have never made one.
good key to save alot of time working but when you instal bios update It can be dangerous that you lose files that may not be backed up and then you have to start to restore the disk back and it takes much more time and money And sometimes it doesn't work either
You didn't mention it, but "Spinrite" is one of the BEST repair/recovery tools out their! From Gibson Labs.
Thanks Don.
Have you tried Sergei's Stelec Windows 8, 10, 11 PE? (Yes, it has 4 boot images: W8x86, W10x86x64,W11x64)... Natively compatible with UEFI and Non UEFI boot.
Not so bundled as MediCAT, but still fit in a 8GB Flash Drive.
keep up the good work
Perfect when the family calls you up. I use a MacBook so i dont have to troubleshoot at home.
so this is kinda like a more modern Hiren's boot, nice
Great video as always, thank you. Can I install this Medicat ON an Yumi multiboot usb pendrive? 😅
Great video!
Thank you for sharing I just subscribe to your channel
Regarding unencrypting a Pc hit with ransomware, how do you determine which Decrypt to use?
Thanks Bro!
thanks. you are great
My own usb bootable tool is the best.
nice and thank you
I have never needed more than Hiren's boot CD... ever.
I tried to create this Medicat usb and it was clearly a danger, I've never in my life seen so many trojans and malware packed into one place in my life. All virus databases say medicats is not safe, yet... why are youtubers pushing it like a great tool? I don't understand it. I'll just stick to the Hirens boot dvd, not this icky feeling, unsafe feeling, made by a greasy fat criminal looking... Medicats usb.
Thanks brooo...nice work ;)
Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the video ,so with an 8GB USB would be enough for all this? thanks
Thank you
THANKS !!! Can't seem find anywhere what size USB stick I need to hold All That ?
Great video. Does this have a way to remove the bios branding. When I boot my laptop it has the previous company owners name that displays on the screen, and from what I understand that’s called bias branding.
Thanks, very useful!
I just built a MediCat USB repair drive on a cheap 30gb drive. It took 3 days for the build and verify to complete on my W11 system. I guess the cheap drive must be appallingly slow but three days seems a bit much. Anyhow, the Acronis utility then found unreadable sectors on a brand new 500gb Sovereca SSD I was diagnosing on my neighbour's brand new "gaming" computer. I thought SSDs were basically immune from bad sector reads, especially if new. They are sending a new SSD but I think this PC may be going back to Amazon.
This is pretty sick!
This would've been handy a couple years ago - but now I'm in a more corporate job where, if anything goes wrong, we just reimage the device. But if the CEO loses data and we need to do more intensive stuff, I'll have this on my stick.
he should be saving in OneDrive or network drive lol
@@gtarules1Ransomware also tends to take Onedrive files into account, therefor it is important that you have an external backup provider for that (with snapshot support). When it comes to a network drive, I'm assuming a NAS, make sure it also supports snapshots. So you see, it all boils down to snapshots :)
@@frankfix247 If he is in a larger company, wouldnt they have like an RMM and a Rescue & Disaster Recovery or whatever its called. Didn't OneDrive fix that issue with ransomware encryption years back with a simple recover-function btw?
@@s1n802 I'm working for a company and have M365 global administrator-role, I've yet to see any function for protecting files in a Onedrive account. You have the embedded Personal Vault, which is more resistant to being prone to malware, but is not totally safe since it defaults to be open for 20 min. after unlocking it. We use Veeam for both machine and M365 backup/recovery. Highly recommended service with good support.
windows defender goes nuts detecting hundreds of trojans, viruses and malware from this medicat usb installer. Didnt expect THAT MANY!
Probably because it has cr@cked apps, such as EaseUS apps, etc. Many of those softwares are paid. Also, a lot of system tweaker tools could be detected as threats or deemed dangerous.
That many though...
@@IvanOoze1990 yeah THAT many coz it has A LOT of apps
thank you for sharing this,.., iwill earned more money because of this,,.,
thanks dude .
Thanks for this very usefull
especially my laptop now having difficulty once starts automatically logout then start again just looping in log in
