It’s crazy people are still discovering all these bands when this was literally my childhood. Makes me happy seeing everyone enjoying
Right man. 90s alternative hits like
No other!
LITERALLY I cannot comprehend that theres people on this planet who haven’t heard this song.
I said the same thing...
Makes me jealous we can't experience the first time hearing this again.
Same here 🤘
When Zach steps up on the mic and just melts their brain… Then they actually hear what he’s saying and suddenly the depth catches them off guard and it’s like watching someone having an out of body experience. Love it.
True dat!
Then they make THE FACE…😂
If they take the time to read the lyrics, do the research, and understand what he’s saying, they will understand that he’s a criminally minded domestic terrorist. They will realize that he’s full of shīt. It sounds good until you really get into it.
Lmao!! Yes!
As a hip hop head, I agree, dude is not just a rocker he's literally a MC, his cadence is immaculate.
One of the saddest things about RatM is that people were and still are so busy rocking out to their music that the lyrics just pass right on by.
That happens with so many really good rock bands, unfortunately - especially bands from around that time (when RageofTM was 'new' on the scene).
EXACTLY. I hope this generation listens to the message and not just the badass music.
It was the same with The Clash fifteen years before Rage.
@@OroborusFMA Yep! The Clash was one of my go-to's in high school.
Not in my case, bro. Not in my case. Fuck the system for life! Set in jail for not going to military. Refused high paying jobs because fuck you I won't do what you tell me!
37 years and discovered ratm in school! Fuck the system! It's corrupt to the bone!
The early 90’s were insane. There was literally a new banger coming out every other week. Something like you’d never heard before, whether it was Rage, Nirvana, Soundgarden, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Beastie Boys, Nine Inch Nails, Radiohead, Wu-Tang, Beck, A Tribe Called Quest, and on and on and on. The environment at the time was as fertile as it gets
The 90's was an insane time to be alive when it came to music. Creativity exploded through music regardless of the genre. Tumes were better back then.
From rock to country, to House music to hiphop, hip house, Polka music, Smooth Jazz, R&B and more! Th 90s variety was INSANE!!!
when you put it like that damn
@@mostmost1we had the best music made long live the '90
you just named so many bangers my head exploded man. 90s was INSANE for music. i cant imagine a time being alive where NIN and RATM were dropping head exploders and then listening to tribe, some of the most chill music ever
I got teary eyed there at the end of the song seeing these folks get off to a tune I've loved for 25 years.
same. It tells me that people can still be moved by this freedom song 💯 always motivates me to speak my truth and not be afraid.
@CM Franklin you took the words out of my mouth
Right!..
My thought's exactly. This song will never allow me to sit still!
me too this is my new addiction
keep making these reaction compilations, they're fire
I second this request! Lol
I third this request. Just came over from the Metallica enter sandman bideo, appreciate new ppl appreciating Metallica, Rage and I guess we’ll see what else.
I third it! Lol
Funny. Mixed with fire. Can be very dangerous
Same. I’ll watch every comp
We need Rage Against the Machine more today than ever.
They sold out long ago, sadly enough
@@juliusfucik4011 they haven’t changed their position once lmao you just didn’t get it
Absolutely 100% 🤘♥️🎶
An alarming number of Trump supporters call themselves RATM fans. It boggles the mind that they don't get it.
Why? They’re part of the machine. If you take the time to read what they’re saying, do the research, and consider what you’ve found, you will find that they’re full of shīt.
In Metal, there’s no denying there’s one universal move the body just can resist. The headbanger.
Fuck yes!
Hell yeah!
I'm 42 , this is my era, Rage against the machine will always be in the top ten most important bands if all time 🤘
Wish I could hear them for the first time again....... these guys are legends.....
I'm 54, Same!
I saw the Rodney King footage LIVE!😳
RATM is more relevant it NOW ( 2022 ) than it was 30 yrs ago.
F@ck!!!🤯
what better time than now
Same here
I'm 42 also, how he doing that with his guitar? TALENT, Tom Morello is a bad mf'er
The blending of rock and rap that emerged in groups such as Rage Against the Machine is one of the most beautiful creations that could ever grace one's ears. If The Revolution has a soundtrack, this tune's on that playlist. Here's to "uncommon shit" and "keeping your third eyes open."
Amen to that. Vital music that has sadly aged not at all.
Yep, still sounds cutting edge now
Uncommon shit. I love that so much
Amen
Beastie boys walked so limp Bizkit could run lmfao. In all seriousness dropout kings is a great new school rap metal band
I'm a 54 year old man now. It gives me chills to see people react to what we listened to. i wish you all could have been in the mosh with me
No matter your skin tone, religious affiliation or non religious affiliation, political views, etc. Music is something we all groove to and most importantly it ties us all together because music is like blood. It runs through all of our veins and makes us alive!!!
Music The great equalizer
I love when you can literally see someone’s world expanding. I don’t believe any of your collections show this moment more than this video.
I think the "tool" video does because this is pretty much rap with guitars
Yeah, if you are black you dont necessarily make only hip hop
I always love seeing how just in awe of Tom Morello's skills new listeners are. One of the best to ever do it.
Morello's skills are godlike.
Have you heard the game of thrones collaboration with Brad paisley where they all do solos its mind blowing
The "Nightwatch Man" was a breeze of fresh air on guitar playing for the long time since Eddie Van Halen and maybe Yngwie Malsteen who invented totally different way how to handle six stringed-electric-plank
The father of dubstep honestly
All live never on a floppy disk 😁
It's a masterpiece. I think I listened to this song 100 times the first time I heard it.
Absolutely,my brother !!
This has been my #1 streaming track for as long as I've had a subscription. Best there is.
No band makes you want to stand up for your rights and take down those trying to crush them, more than Rage Against The Machine.
Good music but band members are total hypocrites.
@@user-ky2fo8yf1f Most people are. It's best to simply appreciate the art.
@@user-ky2fo8yf1f
Nonsense.
I literally would get filled with RAGE as a teenager when I listened
Ironic
The smile on my face as I remembered that the guitar-scratch solo was coming up and I was going to get to see people hear it for the first time 😊😊😊
2:09 kinds of smile
Such an understatement bro made me teary eyed
@@randymcdowell3150 Tom Morello is a different dude
What I love about these reactions is the reality that music doesn’t have a color or special, exclusive sound, it’s artistry and amazing in its own right when it’s good.
Truth!!
No Life Shaq hit the nail on the head why I absolutely freakin LOVE metal.
I'm old enough to remember when rock and rap started cross-pollinating in the 1990's. We all though it was ridiculous. Watching these younger kids discover it and appreciate it is eye-opening.
Rap and rock started mixing it up in the early 80’s.
Now we need to see a reaction to Anthrax and Public Enemy - Bring the Noise (although maybe there already IS one...haven't checked, actually.)
People further the anthrax / public enemy song bring the noise from 87-88.
Aerosmith and Run DMC with "walk this way" are the first rap and rock mix ever
@@BlackLight180 it may be public enemy and anthrax "bring the noise" but I'm not sure about that
Nice choice. You are firing on all cylinders. Keep em coming. Your following is growing.
Their lyrics and music is right for modern times more than ever.
BULLS ON PARADE!!!
It's timeless you can apply it to literally any civilisation in history.
@@emz2969 the cicle of humanity
It was a warning we didnt take seriously enough as a culture. Now its prophecy we cant escape.
Yeah as we begin to slide into the hell known as socialism
I've had this album for literally 30 years. It's still as fresh and new now as it was back then. 💚 It's still hard to hear my 90's teen music on the classic rock stations now. 😜
Favorite album of all time
Yeah, I had that moment when I heard Motley Crue on the classic rock station. I was like what? They’re not classic rock…..are they? Crap, I’m old. 50 now. ☺👍
Man you make me feel so fucking old
I remember feeling like such a rebel for having this cassette.
They offered a certain vibe we all need from time to time.
This makes me proud of my generation.
Immediately clicked on this after the Metallica video. Didn’t know these reactions were out there. As a life long metal fan it’s great to see the universal language of music in action. You earned a sub my friend. Keep it up
Haha same! Currently hyped as hell eating my morning porridge 😂. Amazing videos
This is pretty awesome. Been a Rage fan since Evil Empire came out. Was lucky enough to see them in Atlanta on the Battle of Los Angeles tour. It was the most intense concert experience ever....and I have seen some great artists/bands. They came out, Zach said, 'We are Rage Against the Machine from Los Angeles, California.....hope you like the show' and proceeded to whoop that ass. Philips Arena was literally flexing from the crowd jumping around. My seats were on the first row above the floor and the GA crowd looked like roaring swells in the middle of an ocean when the lights would shine across them. The show hit fever pitch during 'Freedom.' Zach took the pauses longer and longer...and by the last 'You're anger is a gift' and drop...the place was out of control. They were so tight and so powerful. I was a fan before that night, but went out and tracked down everything they'd done after that.
But I digress...it is awesome to see young music lovers being exposed to them because they do light a fire, they are a voice for the voiceless and they are exactly what their name implies.
Lucky to see them live!
Reading this gave me full body goosebumps. I can’t imagine what it must have been like to feel all of that raw energy in the air.
Having been born in 93, it’s sad to say that I discovered RATM while playing Guitar Hero in middle school…shortly after that I fell in love with the band and the message👊🏾
This song and every RATM song honestly still holds weight and is relevant to this day. These dudes where preaching the same social issues then that they are still doing to this day. Society needs to listen to RATM. Like really listen.
Gotta love the dude who just smiles everytime they show him awesome reaction
Since I hears for the 1st time RATM I was shocked to my core, and since then the lyrics, music and energy Zack puts into every word still keeps me banging every time it comes in my playlist. Glad to see all new people enjoying this awesome band.
I was shocked to my core by how much RATM sucks.
Tom Morello actually pulls the plug out of his live guitar, and rubs the guitar input jack on his forearm to create that turntable scratchy sound!! That is both creative and badass!!🤘🏼
If you’ve ever wondered what hearing this for the first time at that time was like for us older folks, our reactions were exactly like these.
Does my heart good to see that todays youth can still feel music deep in their souls.
I literally just said this to my wife as i watched: "the reactions are incredible, but truthfully, i had the same reaction too" specifically RE the solo
I’m 63 and have been a rage fan for 25 years I’m so happy all of you enjoyed it for the first time
If you really want to get your Friday rocking start the day with
Sleep down in the fire
Great song
Peace RATM
They first time?? Wow… those days 🙌😄
Imagine how the band felt when the guitarist was just messing around and did that turn table scratch on his guitar! I bet they freaked out!!! I'd love to have been there for that!
It's a rock band that just happen to have one of the greatest genius lyricists and rappers ever. They're beyond categorisation. They are rage, they stand alone and have for 3 decades
Rage Against The Machine is a favorite amoung the metal & nu metal communities, & they are seen as a rock band; not a rap group.
Zach de la Rocha is a beast. 🔥🔥
30 years and counting, the head banging to that song is still living on.
Cheers to all the Ragers.
I'm 54 and enjoy all kinds of music, but not a fan of metal, rap and country BUT.....not sure if it's my age and "wisdom" but my mind is opening up to different music from the past. I can't believe I never heard of this song. It's SO powerful. Amazing.
Sooo glad younger folks can now feel what I felt back in the 90’s! Music of any genre that makes you feel it is top notch bad ass!!!!
Greatest concert I’ve ever been to… rock the bells in SF, Zach singing so hard he actually fell down… unbelievable
RATM was so good. They took the message to their target audience. They were my first intro to rap AND politics. I fucking love seeing ppl hear them for the 1st time
My favorite is when people hear Down Rodeo for the time and almost says "did he just say what I think he did?" "Yes, he he did"
Honestly this is such a joy to watch, seeing people so excited about bands I’ve grown up with my whole life! Like I could not stop smiling this whole video😍
It's called "poetry" no matter what rhythm you drop it over folks.
1 Love
spillin facts
It's amazing that as big and powerful as this band was, so few people from younger generations have heard them. I always thought Rage would go down as legends, the way Zeppelin and Hendrix were for us in the 90s. The internet changed a lot of things, man.
I see Rage against the machine three times over the years at Reading Festival UK and I can tell you they are the most powerful band I’ve ever seen live.
The girl who referenced Fahrenheit 451 is my kind of people.
I love seeing people react to RATM for the first time. It blows my mind that there are still people who have never heard them 30 years later.
I was a mother with a daughter when RatM came to be. So, I read the lyrics and was blown away! I'll admit, I don't always hear the message with music. RatM changed me in that regard. I'm glad because it opened my eyes to all the rest of rock. Watching these reaction videos is almost as good as hearing the song for the first time. Love these!
Man, it's so cool seeing reactions to RATM from folks who you wouldn't expect to like it. If they dig into the lyrics, they would love them even more.
I absolutely love seeing people reacting to Rage for the first time. Been listening to them since they came out! One of the greatest rock bands ever!
Same brings a smile to my face seeing the gen z enjoying my band from highschool
I'm old. Been to 1000 concerts. RATM reunion tour 2007 was the sickest thing I've ever seen in my life 🗽
I love watching people's faces the first time they hear Zach on the mike and Tom Morello on the guitar. They are both out of this world. Tom Morello is a guitar genius. The things he does on the guitar are absolutely amazing.
I honestly love the reaction to my boy Tom Morello, like, damn not only did they get their minds blown by Zach, but Tom's like "lemme show you what a guitar can do"
KEEP THESE COMING! Absolutely the best compilation channel. Song choice is always on point. I look forward to these uploads.
Watching people hear and react to RATM for the 1st time, particularly this song, will never get old for me.
This is the same reaction everyone had when I introduced people to this band when they first came out. Yes, RATM was lit, every song they made was like this , Evil Empire was one of my faves.
These are the best things I didn't know I needed in my life. Keep 'em coming!
Celebrating my 40s bd very soon... I was lucky enough to see RATM live back in high school!!! It's absolutely everything you ever heard or imagined it to be!
Saw them live in '93. Definitely a game changer.
This is why Rap/HipHop and rock/punk/metal come together so well it both hits hard, keeps it real about some serious topics in life and both have a rebellious IDGAF spirit too it. It’s why every time RAGE comes on in a club everyone goes nuts. I love it
On to a winner with these clips Derek, quality editing. Keep em coming, thanks.
I am completely blown away by your editing skills, absolutely amazing work. Thank you for making these!
Thanks for doing this. Makes me happy. Morello is talking about the making of Evil Empire this week on Sirius
I've never had this much fun watching other people listen to music in my entire life. Definitely worth an instant sub for sure. Thanks, and keep up the great work!
1:39 gets me every single time... I think its the level of concern in his voice... 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣
3:31 TRUE😉
Boggieee ♥️♥️♥️💪
Lmao me too. Cracks me up everytime and then the next clip of him he's getting down to the chorus. So genuine and funny.
I've prolly watched all these reactions individually but this compilation is damn fire. Needed this and didn't even know it.
Respect, bruh!!
Edit: Liked and subscribed obvs. 💪
Another kick ass reaction bro!!!!! Loved it!!! Man the 90’s had some killer ass music!! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Great job man! That smile at 5:00!
Oh yeah, keep em coming!!!! You chose well with this one😍
Keep doing what you’re doing! Hell of a job capturing the emotions from the reactors. 🤘🏼
Over 20 years later and every single bit of their music fits so perfectly today. This should be required to be listened to in high school
3 albums and a cover album, essential 90's listening
Amazing work editing all of these together. Please keep doing it!
Please keep these mashups coming, and if you do the famous “Jinjer - Pisces” video you have to include the reaction by The Fairy Voicemother. She literally spits coffee on her keyboard…
Yes I second this!
I love reaction videos like this. Watching other people have that very first feeling that we all had. Does something to your soul.
Your compilations are abso-f-ing-lutely amazing! Great job!
Thanks, and keep em coming.
I absolutely love the awakening to music I’ve been telling people about for decades. Love and music can bridge any gap!
Keep 'em comin'. Love these videos.
I swear every video I am laughing out loud from an editing cut lmao. Peppering in homie with the still face was hilarious 😆
Still amazed after all these years that your only hearing 3 instruments.
2:07 lmfao that's how i am when I'm too stoned to even react. Just smiley 🤣
Man I've watched this 105759503 times and still makes me smile when people get to hear bands ive always loved gor the first time
HOORAH!!! This is one of the songs that personified the rebellious youth of the 90s (me included) - thanks for uploading this one broda'!
always loved this song and it was the first song of any type my son actually liked (I subjected him to my musical tastes all the time but he never liked any of it except this) ...your editing is on point my guy
*At **2:47**, this reactor recognizes the lyrics and references Fahrenheit 451. So obviously I'm in love now.*
This is facking brilliant man. I had seen a couple of these but this mash-up is gold. Respect for the work you put in. All of the reactions and this deserve huge props for spreading awareness of Rage.
This genuinely my fav reaction vid, seeing people get as pumped as I do to such an epic tune is just so good ! Id even go as far to say I'd prefer to watch this over just the vid of the song it's self 💯✊
Man dude there are a lot of bands reactions that you could do this with I'm sure you know. AC/DC - Thunderstruck all the way to ZZ Top - Sharp Dressed Man. Plus a Rage reaction to Killing In The Name. I'm sure you know this. This was a great idea.
It amazes me that in this time of all the social unrest we have in this country people are just NOW hearing RATM. If that isn't the background to whatever protest you are involved in, you are doing it wrong.
And we are over here taking this for granted because we've always been listening to it.
Gives us a new found love for old music
Man your compilations are gold, keep up the good work!
"They don't gotta burn the books, they just remove 'em"
Looks at Texas RIGHT NOW
I'm loving this channel, it's gotten me back into rock and some of the amazing bands out there. Would love to see how they react to some Mega Death Symphony of Distraction 🤘
Saw rage live a few months ago in Toronto the whole energy, Tom morellos guitar and just the crowd it was a one in a lifetime opportunity
I just recently discover this channel and I'm OBSESSED DONT STOP, keep posting!!!!!!
Ok. Seeing different reactions to Rage. Cool. Oh and yes he had passion in his spitting.
That was probably the best reaction mashup I've ever seen, keep up the work please
Nice compilation, edited well! I gotta say, seeing ALL these people react like this to a classic so deserving REALLY amps up that "OMG, I know at least another 7 Rage tracks that would blow these people's minds"" - feeling. :D
Always a little jarring realising that others don't really know Rage. They ain't The Beatles, but still.
Friends of friends were friends with Zack so we saw them rehearse at you their space in highland park. They started off as a band that played during lunch at UCLA then eventually had the number one album with Evil Empire. They also opened up for U2. Saw them at that show as well.
This is an awesome mix!!
