Master Stick Float Trotting To Catch Chub, Dace, And Trout!

Back in 2013, I was asked by Anglers Mail TV to help out two enthusiastic young anglers who wanted to get into making angling videos, their names were Carl and Alex.
I decided to take them to the North Wey which runs through Farnham town centre in Surrey. It was a venue I had fished since my early days and was always a consistent little river where chub, dace and wild brown trout could be caught. That video, which you easily find if you tap into your search engine 'Duncan Charman river float fishing' has amazingly had over 149k views!
Having rarely fished the river since I thought it was well overdue I made a return to see if it was still as good as it once was. My good friend James White kindly offered to shoot some coverage on a new camera as well as edit it into this video.
James has recently launched his own UA-cam Channel called ‪@thefishingdiary‬ check it out and remember to subscribe as you will see lots of new content appearing in the next few months.

Hi guys, just subscribed. I've always been a stillwater man but recently I discovered a tiny stream and small river in my area have fish! Both were polluted wastelands when I was young. First I noticed kingfishers and herons. I hacked my way through a jungle to fish. So far biggest fish, chub to 3lb and perch 2lb 8oz!. Nature is amazing. This small river is similar and I have learned a lot from your set up and tactics. Thanks and tight lines

Fished the swim above the footbridge the other week … like you minnow city … has a big dace and trout below the footbridge… it’s a shadow of how it was only 5 years ago
