Late Season Tench on the Feeder

Tench maybe somewhat easy to catch in the spring before they spawn, yet once this ritual is over they can be frustratingly difficult to tempt.
This video follows me through a short early morning session, back on the estate lake, late August where although you can get them fizzing in your swim, if you don't get your tactics spot on, you will probably leave empty handed.
The video includes some basic technical stuff on bait mounting/application as well as how to go about knowing just how long it takes for the feeder to break down and exactly what you may have to do to balance your hook bait in order to keep those hard earn't bites coming.

Good video Duncan. Have a look at the guru rubber moulds … work well with the Preston feeders … interesting to see you catching on plastic… last time there I was surprised not to catch on the feeder but only on the pole but that was using bandums with the method which they had switched off of

The hooks I use when feeder fishing are micro barbed size 16 Drennan Super Specialist and the pellets are 6mm and 8mm Dynamite Dura Pellets

couldnt agree more re flatbed feeder. method feeders where hand pressed and loaded all round.

Never done any good on dura pellets at Marsh Farm, much better on fake caster or 6-8mm pellet

Its really weird how something works for one, but not for another but totally agree fake caster/maggot even corn stops are so reliable
