Brilliant Duncan ! Your knowledge & expertise makes it look easy fishing 2 rods , some great tips as well look forward to your next no nonsense excellent video!
Really enjoyable video Duncan - a local spot to me, which makes it very relevant. makes a change from a lot of your other videos when you have Joe Public and other anglers 'bombing' your video production - handled most expertly !
I always like to be on the bank and ready to fish by the crack of dawn. Most times I've caught a full days fish by 9am so sometimes I get off and then come back at around 4ish and have an evening session as well especially when I'm Tench fishing.
me and a friend fished there a few weeks ago on a evening into dark session,i was in the same spot as you.very lively place to fish with more people about once it was dark?i wouldn't want to fish there after dark on my own,we had some nice roach in daylight but no bream then only 1 bream each at about 11pm.
Hi Dave, In general I don't use a keep net and put each bream back straight away but when creating a video or if I need to get a catch image for some reason then the keep net is used but only for the minimal amount of time and returning bream, especially in such a big river won't upset the shoal.
@@duncancharmanangling1136 thanks for that info Duncan, I fish the Trent and it always crossed my mind if it affected the shoal. But as you say the Thames and Trent are big rivers mate.cheers.
Hello Duncan, fished that strech for some years used to live in hersam but I was upstream few weeks ago, are they up and down that stretch, think the overcast conditions help as well, thanks for this mate, and well done.
Upstream around the cut is, as we both know a barbel area but around the bridge? Maybe I should have said around the bridge is bream, bream and more bream with the odd catfish!
Hi Jason, take a look through my tench videos as showing how worms are mounted on a hair is in one, if not more but basically using a thin baiting needle push it through the worm sections and pull onto the hair, its as simple as that. Some anglers use quicksteps but I prefer to lock between two plastic casters.

Good stuff as always Duncan, thanks for all the information and help with the fishing.

In all the years I have fished the Thames I have never caught a tench, my dad did once at Child Beale
@@duncancharmanangling1136 my Mrs and I have both had them near the boat ramp heading towards the cut 👍🏻
i used to fish there when the old bridge was there cast in front off the butress
Big pike always around the old bridge, was gutted when it went
Big pike, the perch were huge!
More great angling Mr Charman, you make it look so easy.
Do you ever blank?
Cheers Steven, and yes there are times I get it all wrong and blank
Hi Duncan , I don't use a keepnet , does it spook bream to be putting them straight back . Over the years I've different opinions.great vid mate.

They certainly do move at times and overcast conditions best, thanks for your comment
‘Not really a barbel area…’ ?
The whole of that area of the Thames is noted for barbel…👍

Hi how do you hair rig worms cheers Jason 😊

Is that a club stretch or payment or free if you don’t mind telling me cheers
Free parking and free fishing. All stretches of bank with public access downstream of Staines bridge is free fishing on the Thames.
It’s free as it’s below Staines all the way down to London
Hi Alan, free fishing and parking at Walton.
proper bream
They certainly are!
What he mean clipped up
I did created a video back in March called 'Clip it, Mark it, Wrap it' which will explain what it means...
