    This case shook our country!! You have a girl who did everything right, wore bright colours, rang her boyfriend on the way home, let people know where she was and when she was leaving, walked home early so it wasn’t the middle of the night and didn’t take any back streets… AND SHE STILL WASN’T SAFE!! When I say that the UK HATES Wayne Cousins, it’s the understatement of the century. Thank you for covering her case, RIP Sarah ❤

    To say that all of us women in the UK were pissed off is the understatement of the year, myself and all my friends were scared to go out and more importantly hated and loathed the police. Thank you for covering this case, God rest her soul. RIP Sarah

      Many women were arrested in the aftermath of this case, all those protests we had with women marching and women getting pinned on the ground my male police officers... The Met completely screwed up. Ended up having to make apologies and pay outs to the women arrested. It still makes me mad because we STILL have officers at least once or twice a week being reported as being investigated for some foul shit towards women.

      The disgraceful treatment of women at the vigil and subsequent protests were an absolute damning indictment of the solidarity the police showed towards Couzens, not to mention their banter in regards to his uninvestigated sex crimes, they provided a permission base for this pos. The police in Britain are well known to be institutionally sexist , rascist and homophobic. No woman felt safe in the wake of this.

    • @Tefisheep
      @Tefisheep 17 днів тому

      @@bonebae8173 not to mention that the vigil was a silent vigil. They'll pulled a young girl off the ledge they were standing on, it was on the news, she had long red hair. She was silent and never uttered a sound, others tried to help... in silence. By pulling that girl off the wall, the police were trying to cause a scene so they'd have a reason to arrest the organisers of whomever they chose. Not one woman made a sound except when they first pulled the girl down. They tried to make all the girls and women visiting the vigil site to pay their respects look bad, except they were silent and respectful. Until Princess Catherine went along. She didn't go with cameras, she just wanted to pay her respects. Ideally she wanted to just go, pay her respects and leave obviously she was spotted and filmed, I respect her wish to be anonymous, but it stopped all the reports trying to make out all the women were being out of order in some way.

      @@bonebae8173I was stalked for 2 years. They gave him all my private interview information, they protected him as thry knew him. Then tried to arrest me for taking notes and monitoring his actions. The police are an extremely dangerous male army. However the person that hid my case the longest to stop action was a female PCSO pretending to be a police officer on the phone. The problem I see is male gang mixed with power hungry PCSOs so its all selfserving and nothing more.

    Sarah Everard, Sabina Nessa, Zara Aleena, Bibaa Henry and Nicole Smallman (sisters) just a small number of the brave women who were tragically murdered in London in 2020/1, in random attacks by men they didn’t know. The whole of the UK stopped when we found out Sarah had been murdered. I think the shock of it being a police officer was both scary and enraging. Thank you for sharing Sarah’s story.

They're going to increasingly start using the "misgendered, body dysmorphia and transgender" issues as "triggers ' for their actions soon. I have one too. She was a female officer with a buzz cut and her breasts taped down and pulled me over and I called her sir because I didn't know. She arrested me under false pretenses. Turns out she was doing this to lots of kids it turns out she was arrested people who were under the legal limit because she was getting a huge amount of money a year from MADD. She was fired because of this. She had been getting tens of thousands of money from MADD every year for over 6 years. When there are real drunk drivers getting away with it but arresting young kids they don't n own their rights.

An entire society is erupted with anger, especially women’s rights activists. The fact this case is so recent and that the UK’s “suggestions” given to “help women,” is soooo upsetting. Victim blaming Sarah that she should’ve known he was a crooked cop, or that she wasn’t breaking the law but remember this was during covid pandemic. Imagine if men were given a night curfew or told dont go out alone at night……. My point exactly!!! Women AND men should be safe anywhere!!! (Wishful thinking but I will can hope). It's almost impossible to get footage until it's been used in the court case, and even then, uk police don't strongman suspects as it could easily mean all their evidence is thrown out due to treatment of suspect/defendant.

    In our state, in the USA, they get their paycheck until they are formally charged, and it is certain that there will be a trial. However, it is past time to break that thin blue line. Worldwide, they get a pass until it is dire for others.

  • @meganhash7840
    @meganhash7840 23 дні тому +7

    I'll tell you how he slipped under the radar and went without punishment for so long: he's a cop. It doesn't matter where you are, cops protect their own. People DEFINITELY knew, especially those on the force, considering they literally called him "the rapist," but because he's a cop, he got away with it.

    • @Iflie
      @Iflie 18 днів тому

      He probably told them stories about the sex he liked and prostitutes and they just thought he was "being a guy". Obviously those cops liked bad guys and were bad guys and helped other bad guys get in and get away with everything. As you see in the video he wasn't even a smooth talker or a guy who's be liked and trusted by many people.

    Hey Annie, I just want to say this was a hard case to do but I personally feel you really did Sarah proud, God Bleyss her family and her boyfriend who had everything taken away from them.
    And this message is to Dear Sarah, I'm so sorry that someone who we as Females really should have trusted has so sadly taken you you way too soon, may you finally be able to be at peace dear Sarah❤ You live on in the hearts of all of us females who believe we should be able to feel safe walking anywhere without being at risk of crimes because of our gender!.
    Rest in Peace Dear Sarah ❤

    I have lived in the UK for over 13 years and consider it my home. When this happened in the middle of lockdown I was sick to my stomach. I WENT FOR A WALK THAT NIGHT! MY BEST FRIEND WENT FOR A WALK THAT NIGHT! Remember people, there was nothing else to do. The realisation that it so easily could have been me or any of my friends, really made me terrified to leave my home for so long.
    After this case, there were a lot of discussions about whether people would have gotten into the car. I was raised to respect authority and never question it, so I know I would have gotten into that car.
    My blood boils to this day, and i think of Sarah often. May she rest in peace after all!

    A slight, but important, correction Annie, although the vigil did get quite a crowd it was peaceful UNTIL the police started to try and close it down FORCEFULLY!! It was ridiculous. There was absolutely no need for them to step in and to do it by grabbing people and dragging them…. When one of their own was at fault!! Completely disgusting and beyond pathetic 36:22

    This changed how we felt towards the police..the advice they gave to women if we felt unsafe around a police officer was useless and pathetic! A colleague in the same unit as couzens ..a man nicknamed Dave the Bastard by his colleagues was also put away for being a serial rapist! Other police officers are being investigated around the UK also.
    It is horrific to think of how much fear and terror Sarah felt. We all cried for her..Couzens was not properly vetted when he joined the police and that happens TOO much!..Sarah was a beautiful light and mattered ..couzens pathetic existence does not...let us hope he does not fair well in prison!
    The vigil for sarah was peaceful. The police began getting physical .you would think they could behave considering one of their own murdered her!
    Thankyou for telling her story Annie x

    I’m sure Wayne just told Sarah that she was under arrest for a break and enter. She probably figured it was a case of mistaken identity. She should have ran …. But if you’re not guilty you don’t run away from an arresting officer, you naturally assume it will be cleared up at the station.

    I'm sorry, but I had to laugh when you said he should have been on unpaid leave until the trial. Here in South Africa, we have an exPresident drawing an extremely high pension which was paid to him even while he was in prison hospital (never in an actual cell) after being convicted, and now he's contending for the Presidency again !! We are talking millions of Rands which is nothing in US Dollars, but a massive salary / pension in South Africa. #JacobZuma

    I truly have no words. I’m sitting here feeling numb trying to process this story but the anger is welling up inside me. Wayne is the definition of a monster. Like you said, how could he go under the radar so long? I think he was protected by his buddies on the force for years.
    I just want to add, I watch a lot of British crime dramas. London has the best CCTV system, designed for the safety of the citizens. You can track a person’s movements nearly block by block with these cameras. I know they’re controversial to many people but I’m not out criming and would feel much safer in that environment.

    • @LittleDarling-qw4gc
      @LittleDarling-qw4gc 20 днів тому

      I get what you’re saying because that would solve a hell of a lot of cases here in the US. But look how many people he assaulted and harassed over how many years before becoming an officer and than more some after being an officer with that nickname. There’s no safety if law enforcement is the one okay with having their own being the danger and not even looking into it for years. Like honestly, what the actual Fk!
      In reality, no where is safe. But protecting ourselves especially against law enforcement is a crime.
