Thank you! The ability to give another person drug free pain relief is an amazing gift. The act of using that ability (and especially free online) shows compassion and sets you on a higher level! Constant pain can be debilitating and has a major effect on quality of life!!Thanks again.
I went to the ER from pain caused by this before, it can scary. I just found this in desperation and honestly I could barely do the first round of stretches from pain. But by the time I did them the 3rd time I could take modest breaths without too much pain. Thank you for this, seriously!
I was skeptical that these exercises would work, but they actually do. Since doing them with some patience and consistency in the past couple of days, my persistent sharp pain has finally started to subside. Not a coincidence IMO.
Its Sunday morning and I thought I was gonna haft to go to the doctor for my back pain I’ve literally been crying a little here and thier 😢 all morning in-tell I realized that my back and rib pain were connected.. that lead me to this video and I just here to say thank you so much you really saved the day your like a super hero ❤
My husband thinks I’m crazy when I tell him my third or fourth rib slips out. I have EDS and I recently lost 130 lbs and am off opioids. So I’m working on learning what the root cause of my pain is. A lot of my shooting but squeezing pain is that rib being out. Once I pop it back in it’s like I can finally breathe!!!
I’m 150 lbs 5’10” my brother is 6’1” 200 lbs and we both have something from sleeping on or sides or something where the weight of the compression fucks up our ribs it’s the worst, for sure understand
I have hEhlers-Danlos Syndrome. I'm so happy that you've taken control of your life! Good job! So much information is now available on Ehlers-Danlos syndrome mostly due to the efforts of Dr. Diana Driscoll. But with an "invisible illness" it is challenging for people to understand something is actually wrong and you're actually in pain or fatigued or frustratingly depressed because you want to accomplish so much but just physically can't. Keep it up. It is worth it!
I can’t explain the relief this gave me after horrendous pain in my top right side. I was honestly feeling pretty dejected, especially as the scapula was scraping against the rib injury which made particularly horrible to do even basic tasks. I really didn’t know what to do. Thank you so much.
Been having my rib pop out from my combo of desk-work and skateboarding, and the foam roller trick just changed my whole day. So much instant relief and cracks
This complex helped my ribs. My rib felt stuck, every time I would breathe in I would have an incredibly sharp pain, I couldn't take full breaths. After doing a few stretches and self mobilizations the pain stopped! This is amazing.
As a professional horse trainer Ive had so many broken bones and injuries. Chronic nerve pain that made me give up my career in my lower back and butt. $50,000 in medical bills to a surgery center that never figured out I had a twisted and rotated pelvis and wanted to fuse my SI joints. Can you imagine how bad that would have messed me up? Fusing me together in that position? I don’t trust Doctors anymore because of it. I’ve spent a year stretching intensely. It’s changed my life and reduced my pain drastically. But my pelvis is still a little twisted and rotated, which keeps a rib pulled out of place and hurts in the middle of my back like no other. I’ve had issue with that vertebra turning upside down and now I can’t get it to stay in place, but this stretch helps more than anything else. So thank you for sharing. Hopefully I’ll get the sucker to pop back into place eventually!
Thank you so much. I have been having horrible back problems where the ribs attaché to my spine, nonsurgical but terrible muscles spasms, this stretch is such a relief! I can't believe it. Thank you, Thank you.
I say it from my heart, thank you for selflessly sharing these exercises to help us. They help when we have no options left. May you be blessed with all things good and wonderful!!
Oh my! That’s a long time. See a chiro. They will pop it right back in and then you just go about three times a week for two weeks. Then just try to go once a month or so for a little while
You can tell he is giving good advice not for likes or selling something but truly to help. Thanks if I lived locally I would definitely become your client. Thanks for your help!
Man, I have been lookin for this video. I had a rib out for over a month and tried the foam roller as suggested here. HEDS is a roller coaster! I can finally take a deep breath, though.
Thank you so much Dr. Rowe for these video body adjustment fixes! I have been depending on Chiropractors for 20 years (some chiropractors were horrible) and spent a ton of $. But your tips have helped me do it myself and not have to depend on anyone. Thank you for sharing. It shows how generous and giving you are to genuinely help people! You are LOVED! :-)
Thank you for this video, it's really helped me. My lower ribs were out 2 weeks ago, from lifting a heavy tent pack. I couldn't cough, sneeze, blow my nose or lay on them, as they were SO painful! I was needing osteopathy or chiropractic. I couldn't get to my osteopath and then found this video here. I used the exercises and also did some daily self massage to my intercostal and spinal muscles and I'm fully recovered! I'm so grateful 😊 I'm carrying on the exercises because I'm hoping they'll help prevent the same injury happening again.
I SOOO appreciate your videos! I'm a veteran and I use the VA for my medical care. But getting in for a chiro adjustment can take weeks or months! So when I have back pain, your videos are where I go! Thank you so much!!!
Thank you so much for this helpful information. I was having such intense pain mid back that I could not sleep for almost 2 weeks I tried everything every thing I could think of to alleviate it. These movements gave me absolute relief.
Thank you! I have a few ribs that slip out every so often and chiro three times a week for a few weeks is costly and painful between appointments. This really helped move the rib backs in place and I feel so much better.
I wanna stress the importance of doing the stretches and excersizes as well. Been doing just the roller or various hard objects to pop for years until I got my crap together and started doing the routine in the video and I’ve noticed such an insane difference from just a few times a day
I can’t even pick up my coffee cup this morning. I saw the chiropractor yesterday after work and it was better till I woke up & now having sharp pain again, so I came to find a way to fix myself. Glad I found your video!

Thank you so much for sharing this information!! I frequently get a rib out of place and it is so, so painful. I will use all these techniques to assist.
A huge thank you to you! Your videos are very practical, helpful and easy to follow. I can not say thanks enough. I do the exercises everyday and feel much better now! Thanks from my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!
YES! I struggle with this quite often and it hurts like heck! I thought I’d seen all the self help techniques out there, but you showed me some new ones! The stretches feel great!
Your videos are wonderful! I have been having pain on my left side starting at my ribs. I have crazy QL tightness and SI joint discomfort all on left side. I have been trying to rehab myself after PT, medical visits and chiropractic care have not helped. I know that I need to work on strengthening. The SI joint has been a pesky little nuisance! My hip cracks, pops and is so unstable and on the left side. I just know the whole Chain of my muscles on my left side are triggered causing all the issues. Your videos have taught me so much! Thank you!!!
Timely I was out gardening and a rib seemed to "go out" on me and I rememberef the first exercise without coming in and looking at it again. I tried it and the pain stopped, cool! Thank you.
Omg you have no idea how bad I needed this. I have MS and I pulled a rib. I couldn't move and the pain exacerbated my MS symptoms. I happened upon this and WOW!! I felt relief the first day. It's gotten easier everyday and I expect it to be gone within the next few weeks. God Bless!!
Thanks!!! My SI joint is painful, my chiro is working on it, some progress. I’m 70, told w age it can become an issue. I’ve had many hard falls from horses; low back some damaged nerves. I have some tenderness I have some tenderness in the Back rib area on my R side, SI pain is center/R. I had figured that the SI was linked to my rib tenderness. I need this! 👍
Great video! Popped it out over stretching. The genie stretch helped a lot and then I felt it go back in on the foam roller. I know I'll be sore but at least it's back where it should be!
Sun. 01/22/23. Thank you for sharing this. I’ve been experiencing a great deal of discomfort with this sudden sharp pain under my shoulder blade. It started on my right side after stretching to close the door in my daughters 4Runner (with my seatbelt on). I’m am going to try these stretches starting today. I will come back and leave a comment after 5 - 7 days. Thanks for explaining and showing how to do this. Have a wonderful day.
Thank you so much iv had pain in my back ribs with overhead motion for 2 years.. And your door stretches helped me get the release I was looking for. 🙏🏾
I can’t wait to try this! I just got another adjustment for this! 3 different chiropractors & I’ve asked all of them what can I do to strengthen the area or help myself. I will definitely try this and post/share my positive results I am hoping for! (Got to get the foam roller) 😊
I have watched your videos so many times and use your suggestions for pain relief... but I lost the use of my left hand; it is fused at the wrist now. So, being on my hands is very painful and lopsided; I have to use my knuckles to balance on the left side. Since this video is over a year old you may not see my question, but just in case... Do you have any suggestions for using machines, or other ways, to strengthen the upper body/rib area if one hand is weak?
Thank, thank you, so much for all your help. I can't begin to tell you how many times your information has helped relieve some or all of my pain. ❤ from West Virginia
I have to get a tennis ball but I found that a racquet ball works best and place it near the popped rib as closely as possible while laying flat on a hard floor or even standing up against a wall. I put a little bit of pressure on the ball and just roll it around to loosen up the muscles. Then once they are loosened up, I then put as much pressure as I possibly can on the ball and roll it around. I don't ever know which way the rib needs to go to get back in place, so I just wiggle around and roll the ball in all directions until I feel a sense of relief. That's how I know the rib is back where it's supposed to be. But, for the more severe the slip is, the harder it is to put it back in myself. I've gotten to the point several times where I absolutely can not walk and I have to go to either the emergency room or if I'm lucky I can get into a chiropractor within a couple hours.
Thanks. I will experiment with all of them to see what works best. Right now seeing a DO for thoracic block--lots of work to open up the rib cage and stretch the abdominal muscles which got somehow very short. To then have a rib problem (i think this was the one fractured from a leg kick in karate class many years ago.) It doesn't usually bother me but all that work on the whole thoracic/rib is changing things. He told me to "listen to my body." In the middle of the night when there is one more reason I cannot sleep, listening to my body is "hearing" the roaring contractions on the bottom of my feet which cause trigger points which ....etc. Listen to my body? My body sounds like it is crying. Thanks again.
I just injured my ribs while bending over sideways to pick up my dog. Loud pop and a lot of pain. It's been very sore in a few spots and there are certain movements that just kill me. I'm hoping these stretches and movements help relieve the pain. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for this helpful information! Earlier today I was in my garage reaching for something way down pressing my abdomen against something and my lower right rib caged popped inward and now just feels really sore. I've had this happen before, but not as severe.
Thank you so much for this video! I popped my rib out from coughing so much lol but the first exercise I felt a pop right away! My ribs are still tender though so I was wondering if that’s normal? Thanks so much for your help!!
I'll be trying these out I appreciate the help, I thought I was having a heart attack when the cramp went from under my shoulder blade to under my pectoral... Just unsavory all around
@@DrRowe I have gotten good results, the culprit was actually my blanket. It was rolled to the side of the bed and I leaned on it watching a show, fell asleep... It started to happen again and I could see how the tightly rolled mound under a few ribs could tweak the relaxed muscles. Things are in place now...
Thanks so much for this video, i have so much issues with my ribs. If this doesn't help put my ribs back into place what else can I do? Most of the doctors and PTs i've seen don't even believe that ribs can slip and get out of place... (I live in France) so I don't konw what to do. Getting a scintigraphy next Friday to check my whole body and see what's wrong but I don t know if that exam will show whether some of my ribs are out of place or not. Sorry for the long comment 😅
This is a very good video, and you are very knowledgeable. However, I tried every one of these things this morning, and I am still in agony. I have an old flail chest situation from a motorcycle crash (6 broken ribs and a punctured lung) and as I age, I am finding that ribs pop out about once a month now, and I am virtually incapacitated until it finds its way back in. ...Usually when I'm sleeping.

I wished this Dr. Rowe could share some time to me, my pain is already 100% of time.
Thanks!!!
My SI joint is painful, my chiro is working on it, some progress. I’m 70, told w age it can become an issue. I’ve had many hard falls from horses; low back some damaged nerves.
I have some tenderness I have some tenderness in the Back rib area on my R side, SI pain is
center/R. I had figured that the SI was linked to my rib tenderness.
I need this! 👍
Glad it’s helping, and thanks for watching!

@@DrRowe thank you. Will be doing these when it happens again 😁
Great video! Popped it out over stretching. The genie stretch helped a lot and then I felt it go back in on the foam roller. I know I'll be sore but at least it's back where it should be!
Glad it helped you!
Sun.
We look forward to your update.

Glad it helped!
Very helpful exercise thank you
Thanks for watching!
this totally worked! Thank you!

Did you hurt for weeks did you ever find out what it was
Grateful for your videos!
Thanks for watching!
Excellent video and instructions - ribs can be so difficult to move back into place without the help of a chiro. I will try this routine next time!
Hope it helps!
I don't always need these exercises, but hearing you talk about stretching helps me relax and get to sleep in the evening.
Ha, like the Bob Ross of stretching 😂

Thank you for this helpful information! Earlier today I was in my garage reaching for something way down pressing my abdomen against something and my lower right rib caged popped inward and now just feels really sore. I've had this happen before, but not as severe.
😮oh wow, that worked great!!!!! thank you so much 🙏
Glad it helped! Thanks for watching too.

I'll be trying these out I appreciate the help, I thought I was having a heart attack when the cramp went from under my shoulder blade to under my pectoral... Just unsavory all around
Hope the exercises help, and please give us an update soon.
@@thcrtn thanks for the update!
