      I was inspired by your cx500 build so i was leaning towards the hondas cx or cs series, however, I found a BMW r1100rs for less than $1300 on craigslist so i am leaning towards that at the moment!

      A BMW R is one of the bikes I'd love to do next. Probably an easier bike than the CX in terms of frames. Good luck to getting it.

    Good video bud, just one thing; it's LiFePO4 (but with the low 4), because PO4 isn't an element, but it consist of Phosforus (or whatever the English term is, I'm from the NL) and oxygen.
    Thanks for the advice, I'm looking forward on the 'real' project updates!

    I just added a new subframe to my bike, and therefore also moved the battery. Can you explain when to use plated power cables and when not to? And when to use cobber paste etc. I find it confusing, and difficult to know how to prevent corrosion.

    • @forthebold

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  7 років тому +1

      They say you can but the problem you have is that the trickle charge can overheat your battery if left too long so best use a charger that's meant for the battery, so that when it fills up the charger switches off.

    Hi. Wondering if you could help. About to start the rewire on a c.racer gs550 1977 model with uprated electronic points fitted. Can you advise best type of battery to go with?(smaller so not lead acid) Also which regulator rectifier. Electrics ain't my strongest point but wanting to give it a go. Would there be anything else needing changed to match the battery you suggest. Will be keeping elec start and Kick start.
    Your vids are great Cheers

    • @forthebold

      I would go with Dynatek electronic ignition points, with antigravity 8 cell battery, a Ricks electrics reg/re unit to stop the battery from frying, and possibly change the coils to dynatek too. If you wanted to make the wiring even easier go with a motogadget M unit and an M button to eliminate wires

    I've been thinking about making some sort of cafe racer out of my old suzuki gn125... one of the problems i've got is the battery, o this is very helpful! I was also thinking as the bike really doesn't use much power at all that i might dispense of it completely as it's very easy to bump start... But while i was on that train of thought i also contemplated adding a kick start to the bike...
    Do you think this would be at all possible?

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  7 років тому +1

      In all honesty I would say that adding a 4 cell battery even would be a heck of a lot easier that engineering a kick start, or the hassle of having to bump start your bike every time.

    • @squeakyice-cream441
      @squeakyice-cream441 7 років тому

      You're probably right, the only reason i even considered bump starting is that it only weighs 110kg stock... and it'll be lighter (i hope) when i'm done... but looking into the 4 cell evo2 it looks like such an easy replacement and is so light that there's almost no reason not to! They are a little expensive though... BUT i need a new battery for it anyway, and it'll probably last longer than the 3-4 standard batteries that would cost the same amount, and be much more suitable for purpose.
      Thanks!

    • @forthebold
