An ordinary lead-acid "intelligent" charger is perfect for a LiFePO4 battery. As you say, the LiPO will be slightly under-charged, but that is a good thing. Under-charging a LiPO will extend its life but will not affect its starting ability. With any luck you'll never need a charger at all.

I asked how to install it and you didn't help me at all all you did was talk you should have showed step-by-step directions because the courting is different or the cabling is different

So this battery is needed to plug 🔌 into the mains of my house to recharge? The motorcycle doesn't charge it?

      Looks like. That's a good question ⁉️

No. Your motorcycle will charge it on a continuous basis, but if you accidently discharged it (leaving your lights on etc) it should be recharged with the Lithium Ion specific charger. I've had one of these batteries going on 8 or 9 years, and have only needed to 'recharge' it twice... Even after a long winter lay-up, the bike will still start without being recharged.

Will the motorcycle ever over charge it?

Can someone please explain the process, I would like to change to a lithium battery on my motorcycle?
Does a lithium motorcycle battery charge while driving? Will the alternator overcharge the lithium battery or damage it.
Do you have to charge the battery each day, each week, each month?

On a more modern M/C (usually from around 2000); yes; no; no. Lithium have a low discharge rate; but never let them fully discharge (or anywhere near it); and after in the first instance fully charging, never charge over 90%, or even 80% if possible (except maybe once a year).

Can you jump start the bike if the battery is flat?

Noooo, just push start it and dump the clutch in 2nd gear...yes, 2nd gear on my VTX 1300 anyway...

@@lous564 not possible to push (or even tow) start a modern Harley. Need voltage for fuel pump, coil, decomp solenoid , lights, starter relay etc.

Thanks for the video (6 years old now!). Love my lithium (so light and reliable!). Can't find if a solar trickle charger available for it though! There's a slot in my bike cover for the solar panel but little info out there on what if any solar trickle chargers work with Lithium. Any - informed - pointers appreciated. :-)

the problem with lithium batteries like that is that they dont have a balance charger inside them. also they should have short circuit protection and reverse polarity protection. also low voltage discharge protection and over voltage charge protection... so these batteries will fail sooner than a lead acid or PB batteries just because they dont include proper electronics inside them.. i saw destroyed lithium batteries after 2-3 years of use just because the "fake" charging circuit inside them stoped charging them.
charging them using separate charger is not a solution..
