R.I.P. SRV. When guitars go to sleep at night they dream of being played by SRV. He is the GOAT.
You’ll never see anyone else like him. Complete mastery of his instrument. Almost as one.
Yes. He was channeling every time he played. Rest in peace Stevie. You are sorely missed brother.
It ain’t Rock…it’s Texas Electric Blues! The GOAT OF GOATS….PERIOD! 😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
SRV is pure BLUES!!!! You just listened to one of the best guitarist ever. Rest in Peace, SRV.
Stevie Ray's guitar wasn't only plugged into his amp, it was also plugged into his soul. RIP Stevie 🙏✌️
"He was an Open Channel . He Never Got "stuck" during a solo " paraphrasing a quote from Eric Clapton
RIP Stevie, killer blues - those of us who saw you live will never forget it and we all will never forget you.
Not wanting to start an argument, but in my mind, Stevie Ray Vaughn is the best guitar player I’ve ever heard.
I have always enjoyed his music. I was sitting in my car at work when Stevie’s death was announced through my car radio.
RIP Stevie Ray Vaughn
I was at Stevie Ray Vaughn's last concert the night his helicopter crashed after the show at Alpine Valley Wisconsin August 26th 1990. The fog was so bad after the show that we stopped at a motel. The next morning when I was checking out proudly wearing my Eric Clapton tshirt the guy at the front desk said that Eric Clapton was killed in a helicopter crash. I was destroyed! On the way home we were frantically turning the radio dial to get more info. This was before cellphones. We finally heard that it was SRV. I was shocked! I remember leaving the concert saying that I ever had a chance to see SRV I wouldn't miss it. Little did I know that I would never have that chance. The lineup was SRV, Eric Clapton, Robert Cray, Stevie's brother Jimmie and Buddy Guy. RIP SRV!
I never had the opportunity to see him live but thankfully we do have video
Bro, no argument here. And even if I did disagree, it wouldn't matter. SRV was a singularity in the world of blues. I am just so fortunate to have been able to hear his music.
I saw SRV and Double Trouble at South Padre Island, Texas in the mid-80s. I also found out about Stevie's death on the radio. Like @kevinmalone2218 said, the first news I heard was that Clapton had been killed. Then, about an hour later, they announced that Stevie had died. THEN... thirty minutes later, they said Stevie had survived!... A few minutes later, the DJ apologized and confirmed that indeed, Stevie was gone. I was in the Air Force at work at the time. I remember being shocked and sad and my military brothers were clueless about his greatness and what a huge loss it was.
I enjoyed the reaction and subscribed. Keep rockin'!
Nah, that's not much of an argument. Generally speaking, he's thought of as one of the greatest guitar players ever, no matter the genre. Clapton once said that SRV never seemed to get lost. He always knew the next note, which stands out particularly well in blues and jazz. His voice though is criminally underrated. Its raspy, filled with emotion and fits perfectly in a blues setting. I think the better question is that is he the best combo voice and guitarist to ever walk the face of the earth. I mean, the guitarists that everybody thinks of don't have his voice and the vocalist that most people think of don't have his guitar skills. So, I think that maybe the argument.
Stevie was one in a gazillion. Guitar greats were in awe of him. RIP SRV.
This guy took it to a different level and left it there for us to enjoy. Thanks SRV. R.I.P.
This is hard core blues folks. The GOAT.
There is NOT one soul on earth that compares. period
You just watched the finest blues guitarist ever born.
Wasn't here for a long time, but he showed us a good time!
My favorite concert of my youth was SRV!
His band wasn't the headliner...only the opening act. Crazy!
We are very fortunate to have this footage. Seeing is beleiving!
Stevie has the best LIVE cover of Jimi Hendrix/Voodoo Child you're likely to hear. (Greetings from Ireland) 👊
I'm glad I got to see him perform live at small venues in the early 1980s. It was a genuine privilege.
In my opinion, Stevie was the absolute best guitarist of all time! And what else could you want in a performance like this?? It had unbelievable technical precision, feeling, tone, showmanship, and physicality. Oh the sheer physicality Stevie had was mind-blowing! He used exceptionally heavy-gauge strings, and to bend them with complete control like he did was extraordinary! Although I didn't know him personally, I know people who did, and they, along with everything I've ever read about him said he was an extremely sweet and humble man. By the way, he overcame a long-standing drug and alcohol addiction in late '86, then became an inspirational advocate for sobriety. He's extra special here in Texas, for sure!!
Welcome to the world of Stevie Ray Vaughan!
RIP Stevie Ray
P.S. NEVER CLOSE YOUR EYES DURING A LIVE SRV VIDEO. TO MUCH TO MISS.
SRV Life without you Live at the Capitol Theater 1985. Stevie has alot of great music but this has to be my favorite. Maybe because he wrote it... Nahhhhh it just sounds so great!! Tho there aren't many lyrics it's maybe the best vocal I've heard him do.
Y'all need to check it out...
Added. Thanks!
Loved your authentic reaction to the greatest guitar player of all time! You guys are a gorgeous couple, too. Keep on keepin on!
Life Without You from the Capital theater is another SRV must see. Pay attention to the guitar early in video!
Definitely one of the top five guitar players ever
' Life Without You', another SRV ya'll will Enjoy I think...
Make sure you do the Live at the Capital Theater version.
Rip Stevie..love this man❤❤
Such a thick sound from a 3-piecer! SRV + Double Trouble (Tommy Shannon, bass; Chris Layton, drums). Playin' the electrified blues!
Stevie Ray is the ONLY one who could play behind his back, to this day, I haven't seen anyone else do that. You need to check out his video of "Life without you" if you want to see more of his greatness. And by the way, DON'T close your eyes, you may miss something, he is that good.
Jimi Hendrix, Steve Miller, Jeff Beck, and T-Bone Walker were a few other great guitarist who played behind their backs, behind their heads, and with their teeth. ✌️
SRV ~ 🎸🐐 The goatiest goat in all of goatness
For the next two in the holy trinity of SRV vids:
**Voodoo Child at Austin City Limits 1989**
**Life Without You at Capitol Theater**
Gone way too soon…and so tragically! 😢❤
This guy, stevie ray vaughan, "life without you", *live* , at the capital theater, passaic new jersey, 9/21/1985 ...its one of his few live performances (on youtube anyway) that is directly on par with this performance, it is also just bananas & straight fire....im new here so other bands i have to think & look to see what youve already done....anyway, great reaction, liked & subbed
Reaction well done. SRV was a true guitar hero.
Lucky to have seen him 3 times in concert. First was warming up for BOSTON (weird billing) & I had no idea who he was. It was one of those "OMFG, who is this guy?" moments. Third time with his brothers band, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, as opening act.
I was too young for the shooting star that was Jimi Hendrix and then along came Stevie Ray Vaughan 🙂 I was lucky enough to have seen SRV's Guitar Wizardry 4 times in concert . Watching SRV play LIVE you find it hard to believe someone could have such seemingly effortless , mastery over a musical instrument .
Great reaction, loved seeing you enjoy this! It's an amazing performance.
You really should checkout Jeff Healey LIVE version of 'See The Light' he's amazing. Healey also did a live performance with Stevie Ray which is awesome. Little known fact SRV is the one who discovered Healey when he was just a kid. Also just to show how truly amazing SRV is not only was he such a talented guitarist but he was mostly self taught, he couldn't really read sheet music so most of his songs were 'written' by playing by ear. RIP SRV you are the GOAT & truly missed. at least i was fortunate to see him live twice when i was growing up. One of the best things about having a 'Hippie' for a Mom was all the different artists that she loved to take me to see when i was way too young to stay out that late or be in some of those places. But it did give me a heck of a lot of awesome memories.
SRV didn't plug into an amp = he plugged into his soul! GOAT - watch him and Johnny Copeland on Tin Pan Alley. It's the meanest blues duet you'll find. This performance is my one performance I'd put up against the devil at the famous X-Roads! SRV looked up to Jimi Hendrix in his guitar style and fashion somewhat as well with a Texas flair. R.I.P. legend
Now some Led Zeppelin. 1973 Madison Square Garden! Since I’ve been loving you, or any other number from that concert! 72 years old and they never get old to me! 🙏✝️❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
You all need to watch The Warning, a power rock trio of sisters from Monterey Mexico - they are on their way up fast - and this was straight 12-bar blues, just to help
You should also check out a blind blues guitarist from Toronto Canada: Jeff Healey - "See The Light" on Night Music. It was his first appearance on US TV. Then you can do Stevie Ray Vaughn "Look At Little Sister" with Jeff Healey. Two GOATS.
Btw, Jeff Healey and his band was the house band in the 1989 movie 'Road House' starring Patrick Swayze.
Stevie Ray live at the capitol theater 1985 *Life With Out You* Be cool stay safe.
"...The Music just flowed out of him...He was like an open channel & I've never seen anyone else like that..." Eric Clapton on his Friend Stevie Ray Vaughan!
"Those faces he makes!"
"I'm imaking those faces right now!"
😄
New subscriber. 👍
We saw them many times here in Dallas
He has a statue in Austin. How much a legendary person to have a statue
If you wanna see this talent x2, you MUST check out Jeff Healey and Stevie Ray Vaughan-"Look at Little Sister" I wouldn't want you to miss THAT performance! It's on the same level of what you just observed here, but again, it's x2. You won't believe it. Jeff was blind. Again, on another level. 🥳💯💣💥
He was a blues artist. Different than rock music.
Don't forget Stevie Ray Vaughan - "look At Little Sister" full video. Pay attention to the video and you'll most likely be amazed. I'm not going to spoil it with what he does, and I hope others don't comment and tell you before hand. But pay attention.
Guitar God ..... ya gotta do Stevie version of Hendrix Voodo Child
My man likes his blues. 👍
Stevie Da G.O.A.T.! ( HI from PHILLIPINES!)
Most of the time you see someone playing an instrument. In this video you see what it looks, sounds, and feels like when the instrument is an extension of the artist who is a conduit connected to something higher and letting the music flow through him. Mesmerizing.
Life without you live at capital theatre by Stevie will blow your hair back, also when you get a chance you should check out “See the light” by Jeff Healey Jeff is blind but is an amazing guitarist.
SRV. Voodoo Child 1987 Nashville. It will blow your mind.🎸
His best show ever! Tommy (bass) and Stevie are wracked here in their addiction to cocaine, Stevie was unconscious an hour before this show and had to be revived with IV fluids and vitamins (hence the extra sweat) and was roused minutes before walking on stage. They got sober 2 years later. HE WAS CONNECTED to the guitar more than ANY OTHER PLAYER EVER. Better than Page, Hendrix, Clapton, ........He felt his way for every show.
Texas hard blues
You like that one, check out "Life Without You" live.
SRV = GOAT 🐐
Saw him play for three hours without stopping just unbelievable,Beth Hart and Joe Bonamassa Nutbush city limits 😊
That Sir is the "Blues". But ya one day this will become a rock channel.
The only bad thing about discovering these great guitarist is when you find out they've moved on years ago. RIP.
Stevie was the goat, you just don’t get better than SRV
Best guitarist of all time. SRV is mesmerizing. I don't mind saying he's the best because I fully believe Jimi Hendrix would agree. It took me a long time to make up my mind between the two. Because they're both so good. But for me, it's SRV
SRV 🎸 🐐
Love to watch the youngbloods react ❤
SRV THE GOAT!! Now you have to do Little Wing by Jimi Hendrix so you can feel that lineage of guitar influences
Straight from Oak Cliff, TX
Tin Pan Alley with Stevie and Johnny Copeland
I really don't think your reaction comes across as naive so much as you're just a bit Blown Away by getting to see that for the very first time in alive action situation. I'm kind of envious actually because Stevie Ray Vaughan is someone who's pretty much been in my musical vocabulary for decades cuz he was just something I was drawn to very very early I would love to be able to experience his music for the first time again. So thank you very much for your honest reaction and I'm so glad that his music is going to live on
I saw Led Zeppelin in concert in 1969 and 1970 listen to Dazed and Confused. Saw Jimi Hendrix in 1968. Listen to All Along the Watch Tower. Saw Joe Cocker in concert in 1969 just a few months after Woodstock. Watch Joe Cocker at Woodstock With a Little Help from my Friends. Peace out.
Lucky you.
SRV Is The GOAT, It just flows out of him
I got to experience my dream of seeing him from the vantage point shown at the 8:08 mark. He sweat all over me and I low-key touched his very expensive cowboy boot. 🤭 He would be dead 2 weeks later. Still not over losing him. He was special. Thanks for reacting to the Pride of Texas.
Welcome to our Texas pride and joy 😊
From my hometown. Dallas
YES! Oak Cliff in the house!
Consider Elvin Bishop - Fooled Around And Fell In Love. Another great guitar player. Still bluesy, but a ton of soul. Mickey Thomas sings, he's from Jefferson Airplane & Starship...(We Built This City fame)
The GOAT OF GOATS! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
GOAT
I enjoyed your reaction to Stevie Ray, You asked for some suggestions, May I suggest that you check out Pink Floyd's 1994 Pulse concert, maybe do the entire concert in segments, I do believe that if you enter the Pink Floyd rabbit hole, you will be greatful that you did and will want to continue seeing how far the rabbit hole goes, I hope you check it out sometime soon. God Bless
I just subscribed hoping for more SRV. I think you would enjoy SRV Life Without You live from The Capitol Theater. It is amazing!!!
A lot more is coming up! We even bought better headphones for better music quality! ❤️
@@EFamilyMedia GREAT!!!!!!!
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
They say that Stevie Ray Vaughan made a deal with the devil. Nobody knows what Stevie got, but the devil got guitar lessons.😂😂
Check out Phish - “Tube” (12.29.97)! Outside of the vocal section, it’s all improvised jamming. If you enjoyed SRV I have no doubt you’ll love Phish.
Thanks!
Would love to see you guys check out Paul Gilbert live solo from Tokyo. Great job guys \ m/

Welcome to the world of SRV. Easily one of the most talented guitarists in contemporary music
There’s a list of the best in most people’s heads and SRV is usually somewhere near the top
A cool reaction video, how about doing a reaction video to the Irish guitar legend Rory Gallagher - Shin Kicker live at Montreux 1979. Rory Gallagher concerts are legendary with high energy and badass guitar playing. Check out the late, great Rory Gallagher, a amazing music hole to go down! Thank you.
Definitely. Thanks
New Sub. Y’all are great!!
Thanks!!
