I have to say i am a 20 yo Woman and battling with depression. Some days it gets bad and I don’t leave the bed for days, don’t do skincare routine, feel disgusting blah blah ... anyway whenever I watch your videos I get a extreme urge to do something. You really motivate me. Thank you !
Hi D N, I empathise with you. Please see your doctor so you get the help and support you need. Depression can be treated with psychotherapy +/- medication. Please don't suffer in silence. xxx
D N : Depression can also be an imbalance in the brain. Diet helps to balance this. Good food - no processed. Lots of fruit when u can’t be bothered to eat. I used to suffer from depression. I think i still do but I know when it’s coming so I do things to stop it. Like listen to uplifting music, dancing with my headphones on 🎧. Laughing 😆 Watching funny shows to force me to laugh. Also get as much daylight as u can. It’s nice and cozy to sit in the dark, but light helps to uplift brain 🧠 Easier said than done. Depression ain’t easy. It’s like sitting at the bottom of a dark well and ur trying to claw yourself out.
How honest you are ..that's very brave of you to tell your story ...give yourself a big pat on the back ...& go girl have that woman strength which we all loose a times because of things in our way 😊😘hope you do it x
D N - I'm 20 and suffer depression also... Kick start with what you eat... Try water soaked Chia seeds, drained then placed in a favourite yogurt... The seeds will boost your energy then from there do what you need to
Anna, I watched your video last year and thought why not try this... I have been on 16:8 fasting for a little less than a year and currently 79lb⬇️ Your advice changed my life, was a size 18 last February and am now size 8. Thank you 🙏
I fasted for two days and it completely reset my cravings. Before I wanted chocolate and carbs all the time but now that I have added fasting into my life, I dont even miss the junk I used to eat.
j Si If you find it hard to stay motivated then you don't really want to lose weight. Always make your goals bigger than the satisfaction of eating. Me myself, I've found that I rather do for others than I will for myself so I made a promise to everyone that I wont break☺️
@ It's really easy to be immersed in your work (or not have access to food during work or school) and not have access to food until later. I'm relatively thin (about 21% BMI) and relate to the main comment: "I didn't realize I was fasting for 3 college years." I've been out of college for at least 4 years.
@ IDK, maybe. I usually don't have the time to eat and am just straight out lazy that if someone doesn't bring me food, I won't go to get it myself unless I'm really hungry😅 I'm not really focused on losing weight rn, but it would b nice to.
I’m pretty experienced with fasting... when I first started, 12 years ago, I found a really good technique to curb hunger in the first day or so is to heat up a cup of water but approach it like a bowl of soup and actually ingest the hot water from a bowl with a spoon. Nice and slow. It’s a mind trick.
This is wonderful advice! Another thing I would add is that if when you break a long fast (after 36 hours or so), start with eating a light soup or salad and wait an hour before eating anything heavier to help settle your stomach
IF has changed my life! 80 pounds gone. 6 dress sizes lost. I did it all eating what I wanted in moderation and without a gym membership. It helps me to maintain a healthy, fit figure and I've developed a great relationship with food. I eat all of my calories everyday in a 4 - 6 hour window. I eat 2 - 3 times per day and I choose to skip "dinner". It's easier for me and I need my calories during the daytime as I wake up early, I workout in the morning and I powerwalk at lunch time. I just relax and read in the evenings and I go to bed early. Also I dry fast most days of the week for at least 14 hours, but I listen to my body. I love this way of eating!
How long did it take you to transition into that? I'm ravenous in the morning, but I also can't fall asleep hungry or I stay awake long and wake up feeling dead lol
@@petalina2000 me too! I have this same problem…. I used to be able to do this (I used to have a little bit of an eating disorder and straight up starve myself) but now that I’m older whenever I try to not eat after 7 and to keep my calories down throughout the day, I have so much trouble sleeping if I’m hungry and also I’ll wake up feeling zapped. Zero energy. Idk how to remedy this!
I am a Muslim woman and we actually have a whole month of 30 day fasting .. also we have a habit to fast mondays and thursdays .. its very good for the body ❤
I dry fast once a week, water fast the next day and do OMAD the rest of the time. I do cheat days when I visit my friend in another state. I have cleared up many health issues, my mental clarity is the best it’s ever been, my hair skin and nails have done a total turn around. My demeanor is doctor and more patient. I used to have so much masculine energy and be so argumentative, but since fasting my hormones are so level. My stamina is higher, I can breathe deeper, my intuition is higher, my patience is GREAT! My body looks incredible. I used to want surgery, but now I don’t need it. ☺️☺️☺️☺️
I love how you added a disclaimer that people should consult a doctor first, it is very important and I don't see it very often on weight loss and dieting videos/articles.
Just thought I'd throw this in, people fast for religious purposes that is to show gratitude for the food we have and for the less fortunate... like you've said our society has developed an unhealthy relationship with food. My grandparents and dad would have 3 meals a day and worked vigorously on their farm etc, and our ancestors would be working their butts off to provide food. i mean, it's not impossible, we just need to build resistance and be more intuitive.
Yes, religious fasting has been done for centuries. Muslims still practice dry fasting between dawn and sunset in the month Ramadan. And like Anna Bey said in the video there are many health benefits. Benefits that were known for more than 1400+ years for Muslims (and Jews). I’m glad finally the western world has been keeping up and made fasting more “trendy”.
Dear Anna. I was 23 with a great figure, but then people told me to eat breakfast, even though I was not hungry. I gained weight ever since. I was impressionable and did not even notice that my figure was better than those women that told me to change the way I ate.
Michelle Clark never take diet/nutritional advice from fat people. Especially those who try to convince you that fat is the same thing as curvy or that heavier is healthier.
Something miraculously tells me those women were jealous of you. I don't trust my female friends for advice about my appearence, for obvious reasons. Regardless, I'm sure you still look better than those people even if you gained weight.
They were Daesung. And I still look better even though we all are now older. But, now I am taking off the extra weight that I gained thanks to being gullible to their suggestions.
I have started to fast almost 20 days ago and have already lost 4.5 pounds! I'm so, so happy I cannot even describe it. It actually works. I'm fasting for 18 hours as you do, but I skip dinner instead of breakfast. It's more challenging but I think this is exactly what I need to teach myself self-control. Thank you for spreading this out. It has helped me a lot. I'll continue doing this and I'll surely start fasting for 24h or more once a week.
how did you do it, i want to start but i don't know hot to go about it... let's say i try intermittent fasting for 18 hours how many times a week should i do it?
I, too, did daily fasting. But, over this weekend, I was admitted to the ER for low ferratin (3.0) and low hemoglobin (7.0), for which blood transfusions and IV iron were required. Fasting worked for me for years, but I did not know that, little by little--and despite daily vitamin supplements--my levels were steadily dropping. And, I had no prior conditions, was in good health, etc. So, I encourage those who try fasting out to get bloodwork done every 3 months, a CBC and BMP, just to stay on top of any deficiencies.
That's why I take strong Iron supplements in a powder capsules at least for 2 months a year. But I would never take blood. My friend did and got Aids and died after 1 year. Even if they check blood u can still get it
Actally, you've been fasting all night and there you don't need energy because you're sleeping and then when you wake up you need energy to get your day off, if you dont, how are you supposed to get enough energy and sugar to be active?
I used to be really chubby, I was 219 lbs at the time started intermittent fasting (20:4) a few years ago because I thought it was easier than exercising. It worked wonderfully, I lost 57 lbs in less than a year but I stopped because my mom and sister started pressuring me to eat more, they we're probably jealous that I was doing something for my health, unlike them. Thanks to your videos I realized how important it is to look your best, now I'm taking good care of my hair, skin and nails and I decided to start fasting again but this time I'll be exercising as well. Thanks Anna Bey.
The best way to lose weight to have a stress free lifestyle ( when you well cared for, do what you enjoy doing and clean environment- clean water, air/ climate) and make sure you eat high quality protein (clean, organic). I know for myself whenever I go to the countryside even if I eat good amount of food I lose weight. The main catalyst for me to lose weight is to feel calm, loved and accepted.
Fidan Bakirova I agree as well. It’s our responsibility to create that kind of lifestyle for ourselves, I’m currently working on mine. It’s in our hands ladies! 😍
Fasting has changed my life!!! I’ve finally found something that has worked for me and I’ve been doing it for about a year now. Total game changer. Thanks for sharing!
I do fasting too for some time, and it's been amazing, my body is well-balanced and I can eat what i like and want, not doing any weird diets and restricting calories.
I watched this video in June. It motivated me so much... I started fasting (intermittent and prolonged) at the beginning of July and since then, now September, I have lost 21 lbs! I feel so good! I didn’t know that what I used to do to keep in shape when I was younger was was healthy; I used to feel so guilty about skipping dinner to stay in shape. Little did I know it was the mere thing that was keeping me in shape. Since I saw this video, I have done a lot of research on the subject and I know I will never go back to overeating again. Thanks for the video!!! It has changed my life! 💕
I tried everything to no avail. I started fasting about a month ago and ppl are commenting I look thinner already. Fasting is a godsend! The book Eat Stop Eat is very good.
I so appreciate finding this channel...so glad to see that the idea of being elegant, healthy and well put-together is having a revival! I hope that we are done as a society first embracing - and then actually promoting! - those things that are unhealthy and intentionally unsightly! Bring back classical beauty! Class, moderation, high-quality and good health!
Great video! I studied holistic nutrition and would like to add that it is also important to mention that when doing fasting, it is crucial to have great quality animal as well as plant based foods in order to avoid nutritional deficiencies. For instance, within the time you are eating, you should make sure you have some high quality carb like sourdough bread/potatoes, soups like bone broth for abundance of minerals and collagen, great source of animal protein like beaf/turkey meats/eggs/fermented cheese and milks like kefir and organic vegetables too. I saw many people having big health issues when fasting when they went vegan or had not balanced diets, so it is really crucial to focus on quality foods to provide high density nutrition. Sending hugs 🤗
You might want to try Himalayan salt in your water on those days when you water fast. It helps the mood swings and helps to remove toxins while you fast. For me it helps keep the hunger at bay.
Cara Anna, I thank you from the bottom of my heart! I saw this video a few days ago and it pushed me to try... here I am, 5 kg lighter in less then 2 weeks. You inspired me to get to know, to research, to elaborate your information and intermittent fasting has become my guiding light. Grazie Anna, un bacio da Firenze 🇮🇹 ❤️
I eat three small meals between 9:00-17:00. Works great and allows you to have your routine of 3 meals. Also keeps me really full all day and even helps me with battling binge eating disorder.
Elvie I eat 3 meals a day too, but only because I can’t afford losing any more weight. Otherwise I’d do a 1-2 meals a day in a short 3-4 hr window, plus 1-2 full days of fasting every week.
I've been doing intermittent fasting since March of this year. I do have to agree with Anna- at first you will feel lightheaded, nauseous, and awfully tired. But once your body starts getting into habit the symptoms go away. By 2020 my goals will change to full day fasting. Never felt so refreshed and energetic! 🙋♀️ Congrats to the people who started before me the fasting time. I hope everyone is doing so responsibly.
@@melodiechartier5173 I'm sure that your lifestyle will differ from mine, so keep in mind that what works for me (being vegan) may not work for you. You might enjoy eating meat, eggs, and other foods and that's okay. You can find what works best for you.
Consuming high quality salt (sea salt or pink salt) during a fast gives your body electrolytes and eases the hunger sensation. You will be able to fast longer this way.
Anna thank you for this video. I am doing the intermittent fasting and fasting from your advice, and i have seen a big transformation in the shape of my body. I struggled for years to get mid-section weight off. After 4 weeks i see a big difference. Thank you.
I'm 57. I've been using the fasting method for years. I've never been obese but at my age, you do gain weight much more easily and it's difficult to take off. That said, after several years of the fasting method, I've been down to my perfect weight, with my doctor telling me not to lose any more because of risks of osteoporosis. I have tons of energy. I have fibromyalgia, which is much better. I feel years younger. Even my eczema has gotten much better. I discovered the trick of fasting as a Catholic. We fast certain times of the year. I put two and two together and thought I'd come up with something new. I then learned that this was actually a THING and people had been using it with success for several years. I've learned that I do best when I do NOT eat until I'm full...I eat until I'm still just a tiny bit hungry. No bloating...no fatigue...no blah. I can't recommend this enough, as long as you clear it with your physician. It's how humans operated for millenia; it's only the last century or so that humans have become accustomed to eating 3 meals a day. We're also moving less than humans ever have, so you do the math. Best wishes to all other elegant ladies.
I am actually trying it for 16 hrs fasting everyday and it showed results of losing weight.I feel my lifestyles improved and feel more confident. Thank you so much love your confidence 🥰
I'm a doc wirh a PhD in oncology. I fast 17h daily and it is awesome. My mom, 72 yes old, also does It and she looks, feels and functions as she was on here 30s. It is all cientifically explainable. In short: stop eating all the time and your body will have time to clean itself properly.
I tried this exactly 2 weeks ago after watching this video, and I lost 7 pounds already. I was intermittent fasting 5 days a week but now I have to cut it down to 4 days because it’s working a little too well and I don’t want to disappear 😂
It's so important to understand that it's not always what we eat but what we don't eat as well. Our body is a temple and what we put in it is important
K Smith That hormone is released during sleep the most, but also a bit during fast (which helps to preserve muscle mass). So, both sleep and fast are great! 🙂
It actually appears after the 18th hour of fasting, so if you're doing 18-6 you still don't get that benefit bc you just reached the 18th hour but cut it with food. That's why so many people do OMAD.
Hello Anna, I feel the best when I do intermittent fasting. My eating window is noon to 6 and I do 4 days a week and sometimes I do 24 hrs. I've lost a lot of weight and feeling great. I've been doing it for 3 yrs. I enjoy your videos. 😊
Being in hour 16 of my fasting window when I saw your video, totally agree with everything you said! Been intermittent Fasting on the 18:6 split for 3 Months and I've lost 11 kg already and just feel so much better and energized all the time... Thanks for this video Anna! ♥
Dear Anna .as an Italian of 45 years old, I can say, I found all your videos incredible educational...and to be honest I am Muslim and I can confirm that fasting is amazing healthy for our beauty inside and outside..thank you for your dedication
Lavinia Cravings/hunger come from insulin swings. Stop eating processed sugar/carbs, and your cravings will reduce much further! Speaking from experience...
Rooibos is extremely good for you, it has a natural antibiotic for your kidneys especially. If you drink it daily you won't get urine infection. Also it's calming and gentle enough to give to babies
Thank you for being so honest. Other youtubers/celebrities/models will have perfect bodies that they work hard for but tell the public the bullshit they want to hear. We all know Victoria's Secret models don't really eat McDonald's after their fashion shows, smh.
So true! I absolutely agree. My husband and I started fasting a few months ago and we have consistently lost weight each month. Some months, we lost a little more, other months not so much but it has been a wonderful tool to use. We do OMAD and it has become quite easy for us now. We splurge on Saturdays and have lunch and dinner. I can see doing this for the rest of my life. I'm so glad there are people like you spreading the word!
I've lost 40 lbs ' accidentally' fasting, both 1-2 days fast, plus intermittent,(* health problems,) down to a size four, 128 lbs, 5 ' 6 1/2" tall,- I look amazing at 50 yrs of age! The health benefits-- I am healed of many problems and I look 20 yrs younger! So, yes- it works and even cures my life long kidney problems!
This video came at such a good time I started fasting last week, i did 16:8 the first day and have been doing 18:6 ever since after a month i plan to move to 20:4, people think this is a hard diet but I find it much easier than some of the other diets out there like Keto. It just feels natural which is how it should be and that’s how I know this is something sustainable
I started intermittent fasting after watching this video when I found this channel a few months ago. An eating window between 10-18 has worked very well and I'm losing weight slowly, but steadily. Whole day fasts are not my forte, because I like to eat and I love my breakfast at 10 every morning, but no food after 18 has turned out to be a game changer. Like you. I gain weight easily so it has been a constant struggle throughout the years. Thanks for this video.
I fast for 20 hours!! I lost 21 pounds doing it. I haven’t been so good lately so I haven’t lost any more weight. But I am going to start again! It’s the best thing in the world. I love fasting and I will continue to do it even when I get to my goal weight❤️
I appreciate that you mention the "food culture" in society. It is appalling the ways in which so many eat themselves to death and sentence themselves to lives of perpetual insecurity. As controversial as this quote is, I have always thought of Kate Moss' quote "Nothing tastes as good as skinny feels." Personally, I have found truth in those words.
I just finished a 28 day fast mostly green veggie juices, and a couple days only water. I lost 28 pounds but ALSO corrected some health problems that I got from the last three years of the terrible stress I endured. More energy, clearer thinking, lighter feeling and joy. Needless to say got back into my clothes.
I have started to do IMF since this quarantine lockdown, and i don’t feel like starving, I feel much full and more happier. It’s the healthiest habit I’ve added in my life
Hi, I liked this video because it’s really works with me. This is additional info. I would like to share: As a part of Muslims people life we fast for full month every year and during the year it’s optional to fast twice a week. it should be dry fasting from sunrise to sunset. So I’m really happy to discover everyday how islamic habits are taking care of my wellbeing and health mind, sole and body
I just wanted to say THANK YOU! I’ve been dreaming of being a better version of myself for a few years now and now finally I’m starting pay more attention to self development and self love. Your videos have inspired me to do so much❤️
I love intermittent fasting. I’ve been practicing this method for about 8 months now and I will never go back. The health benefits are incredible! Also, the slogan ‘breakfast is the most important meal of the day’ began in the 50’s as a marketing method for breakfast companies and dairy farmers to sell their products. There is NO scientific basis to this belief. Thank you for this video Anna! 💓
Intermittent Fasting is a great way to lose weight and keep it off. I would say never ever restrict yourself from water unless a doctor has told you otherwise though as dehydration can lead to a LOT of health issues. I lost 30lbs in 6 months by not eating from the hours of 6pm until 12pm the following day.
Certain fasting also starts “Autophagy” which is basically cells recycling the garbage cells. This is said to be anti aging I’ve done a watermelon fast for 3 days and I never felt so great in my life! Giving your digestive system a rest so your body can use that energy to clean is one benefit to fasting.
I tried intermittent fasting for the first time in the summer for 40 days and I had lost 8kg. I am built more muscular and larger than most girls and it was difficult to lose weigh to be slim before intermittent fasting. To start my tips that I tried was to skip supper and stick with two meals per day. I always ate at the same time: 8am my first meal (fruits only) and then I last one would be around 3pm. But after 4pm I would take no food except for water when I went running. When I just started intermittent fasting I did not restrict my nutrition into only vegetables or be in a caloric deficit. I ate normal portion and healthy meals so that I can feel more well during my fasting period. In the end, I lost a lot of weigh and I was very satisfied because I did not have loose skin problems.
Number 1 for me was getting a dog 🐕 and walking 10 km every day or at least 3 days a week. Plus no breakfast and no bread in general and also no food after 8 p.m. ;) just my 2 cents 😊 Thank you Anna for your positive energy and sense of style and intelligent approach to life !!! ❤
Yes, I love intermittent fasting!! I only eat two medium light meals a day, and do 14 hours off. When you get use to it you do eat less. Also: We need water, lots of it. It does fill you. Anna mentions dry fasting.
I feel so validated! I’ve been intermittently fasting and I didn’t even know it... so sick of ppl telling me I’m unhealthy because I eat once a day. Like I always say, starvation works! Xoxo
Here’s the thing though, (coming from someone with a bachelors in nutrition science), your body needs to run on something. Even if you have full fat as your first meal, your body needs energy to fuel your muscles, including your brain. What really SHOULD be “optional” (if anything) is dinner, because the longer the body has to rest and regenerate cells, the healthier and more immune your body will be.
@@aazz09901 // She's parroting what she's been trained by the system to believe. Fasting has been around for thousands of years, yet in the last 50 years, according to the modern medical profession: Fat is bad! Don't eat eggs! Wait! No dairy is the culprit. Eat fake butter and fake creamer. No. Eggs are good. We think sodium is the problem. Do sea salt only. Oh crap! Sea salt doesn't give you enough iodine and now people are experiencing all kinds of hormonal/ thyroid issues. Too much meat will kill you! WHOLE GRAINS are the key to good health. Bu- but they're so high on the glycemic index. What about that? You get what I'm saying. Listen to your body. Sugar is the devil. Water is life. God bless and good luck! 😉
a. al If you eat A very concious breakfast it can work. No cereals! I eat two boiled eggs and toast with a Lil butter and low sugar oj very healthy. healthy small but reasonable portions too
Walrus Latte Depends on the human body in question. One thing people think is "I will buy this work out book and it will work for me." We are all made racially and genetically different. we have to take those factors into account even though our doctors say we are fine. My doctor kept saying this. as well many things can hold you back on a weight loss journey you have to literally try everything. Kinda like when you go to buy shoes some shoes seem like they will fit. Until you stand in them for 8 hours or just standing in them 10 minutes. We are all different your body will tell you. I notice people who do fast are much leaner.
I am loving binging on all of your videos. You are so elegant and you're truly helping other women realize that under all of their swearing, bad manners, and improper attire that they are classy too.
I expected you to give a generic eat clean and exercise speech, I’m so glad you mentioned intermittent fasting. I lost 70lbs with keto and intermittent fasting because my doctor recommended it. I’d tried so, so many other diet this is the only combination that really worked and didn’t make me feel bad.
After many attempts, I'm finally focusing on doing the 16:8 intermittent fasting today has been 5 days and I have lost 3.5 lbs but of curse it is the first week so I am not surprised. I drink a lot of water through out 24hrs and guided meditation at bedtime.
Ok I'm talking about nothing by mouth that contains water or water itself for 3 days, it is bad. If it does work it's because your extremely dehydrated, and will most likely all come back when you begin eating and drinking again.
Here I am, trying my best to gain some weight, and I am still watching this video just because I am running out on videos of you to watch!! :D can't wait for each new upload! One of the very few useful channels you can really learn stuff from!
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but breakfast literally means to break your fast so it doesn't matter if you have breakfast early or not
I love fasting. I have fasted 2 days a week - a week - and a one month fast - all my fast so far has been dry fast because it rests your entire digestive system. As for the one month fast a year i do it due to religious affiliations, but i love doing it. I personally don’t do it out of obligation but out of love. People think poor you you are starving yourself and i think poor you you don’t know that this is the best healing mechanism for the human body and cells. I tore my ACL skiing in Switzerland this year and the doctors told me i need a surgery. I dry fasted for one month and only drank bone broth and colostrum in the evening. I had my second MRI scan for my knee and the results came positive NO ACL tear that even my doctor could not believe it. Fasting or eating less can do wonders and is truly a miracle
Ooooh girl!! Yes!! I’m so glad you’re discussing this! I agree 100%! Dry fasting is great for health too. Our society has developed an unhealthy obsession with food! I agree with you about dry fasting. I find it to be easier too.
I’ve been doing intermittent fasting for 16 months! The eating windows change. Sometimes it’s OMAD if I’m working, sometimes it 20:4. Like you, I love the flexibility of it! Currently I’m eating a regular 3 times a day, but I’m doing an egg fast and don’t want to eat 14 eggs all at once! Thanks for your vids! Love em.
I am so pleased that you educated many ladies about fasting. We are conditioned to eat all the time !!! No wonder many people are so ill ! Fasting is wonderful , I have started doing it and its great !
Great Anna! Thank you for sharing this! I am from Romania, and we use this method of fasting especially in spring for religious reason, but I can say that always works great for my entire health, not only for my body, but also for my emotional health - I am getting stronger! I appreciate your videos. Well done!
Breakfast is technically the most important meal of the day, not because of when it is commonly consumed or because of what is commonly consumed at this meal, but because it literally means Break-Fast. It is to break your fasting. Breakfast is technically the first meal consumed after having fasted. ☺️ When I first heard it explained this way to me I was amazed! It is crucial to consider what you are consuming at all times, especially after fasting. 😘 I love all of your content Anna Bey. You are truly a gorgeous woman. Thank you for sharing your insight and all things lovely. ♥️
I started my first fasting in 2016 (with prayer) of 21 days for spiritual purposes. I only had water n some broth whenever some people notice my not eating because i did my fasting in secret. It freed me from the lust of food until now. I know it's a little hard to comprehend but I knew deep in my heart that I was really called to fast because I did it for 21 days! Since then I continued doing regular fasting of 7 or 14 days twice a year (new year n the month of july). Sometimes I do additional fasting periods whenever there's a that calling in me. I also do intermittent fasting consistently for my body
Also, very very important: one note on grammar. This is something LOTS of native English speakers mess up and are completely ignorant of. I want to let you know so you know the right way and the differences between the words: The word “nauseous” does NOT mean you have nausea or you’re suffering from nausea or feel sick. “Nauseous” describes something that *causes* nausea. For example: “a nauseous soup was bubbling in the kitchen”. That means the soup was able to cause nausea in people. If YOU feel sick and you experience nausea you say “I’m nauseated”. That means you have nausea. “He went on the roller coaster and got off feeling extremely nauseated”. Super important! Nauseous means YOU are causing others to feel sick- don’t say “I‘m nauseous” unless you’re sure you have that effect on others and they get sick to the stomach while in your presence. Hope that helps!!!!
joiedevivre90 you CAN say “I’m nauseous” meaning you feel ill. When someone is “nauseating” is they make others feel sick. If you are “nauseated” something or someone made you ill.
It's sort of like how the answer to "how are you?" should be "I am well" not "I am good" because well is an adverb modifying the verb "well" and "good" in an adjective modifying the noun "I". It's correct but even native speakers don't do it.
@@rachelleramirez9934 I appreciate your claim. I use it. Many use I'm good, instead of I am well...of course I am well, is the correct version and I see the point. But, it can be used was my comment. It is not the best way perhaps, but it is used. "I feel nauseous" would be better than "I'm nauseous" however, many understand the latter.
I’m a Muslim, and I live in Denmark, which means that my Ramadan fasting in the summer was around 20 hour or more, but I always lose weight, and feel soooooo much better and healthier after 30 days, which is why I fast on mondays and thursdays as a nectar for both health and spirituality. But you’ve given me the idea to fast and incorporate fasting more into almost every day of the week. :D thank you.

I used to suffer from depression. I think i still do but I know when it’s coming so I do things to stop it. Like listen to uplifting music, dancing with my headphones on 🎧. Laughing 😆 Watching funny shows to force me to laugh.
Also get as much daylight as u can. It’s nice and cozy to sit in the dark, but light helps to uplift brain 🧠
Easier said than done.
Did u fast without water as well??

Yes it works, I started fasting one week ago doing the 20:4 fasting technique, started with 70 kg now I am 66. My goal is 60 good luck everyone 😘
Well done. How did you go with your goal? I started 2 months ago and lost 9kgs but have 11kgs to go. I'm finding it hard to stay motivated.
j Si
If you find it hard to stay motivated then you don't really want to lose weight. Always make your goals bigger than the satisfaction of eating.
Me myself, I've found that I rather do for others than I will for myself so I made a promise to everyone that I wont break☺️
@MiekoNeko yes
If I go to 60kgs I’ll look sick. Due to my height I got a bot of bone density.
Hey that's amazing. What's the 20:4 technique? Please let me know. Thanks know advance.
I didn't realized I was fasting for 3 college years
Susan Fudge I know, kids these days are like walking zombies, don’t even realize what they’re doing while they’re doing it 🤣
@ It's really easy to be immersed in your work (or not have access to food during work or school) and not have access to food until later. I'm relatively thin (about 21% BMI) and relate to the main comment: "I didn't realize I was fasting for 3 college years."
I've been out of college for at least 4 years.
Same lol😂😂😂 I only eat once a day (lunch) most of the time and I'm still fat af😂
@ IDK, maybe. I usually don't have the time to eat and am just straight out lazy that if someone doesn't bring me food, I won't go to get it myself unless I'm really hungry😅
I'm not really focused on losing weight rn, but it would b nice to.
LOL! Most girls in college go right for that soft serve in the dorm cafeteria, and gain 20 pounds.
I’m 41yrs and had 2 pregnancies. I did IMF for some weeks, makes my head clearer, more energy and for the first time ever my abs are showing.

Are you working out along with the fast?
45 pounds down in three months. Still never been to a gym. It works. Find the way that is most comfortable for you. Xox thanks for this
I’m pretty experienced with fasting... when I first started, 12 years ago, I found a really good technique to curb hunger in the first day or so is to heat up a cup of water but approach it like a bowl of soup and actually ingest the hot water from a bowl with a spoon. Nice and slow. It’s a mind trick.
Awesome, warm water is also beneficial to our intestines. I find that drinking fizzy mineral water from good sources helps me feel satisfied too.
Drinking salt water is what does the trick for me.
I just heat up some broth! The taste and warmth curb my hunger.
Some ice cubes.
Dr Eric Berg has some great videos on fasting as well, he said bone broth won't kick you out of ketosis.

This is wonderful advice! Another thing I would add is that if when you break a long fast (after 36 hours or so), start with eating a light soup or salad and wait an hour before eating anything heavier to help settle your stomach
Actually I read a soup with lean protein is perfect or protein by itself then an hour later you can have a regular meal.

@Ms Rana yes because the prophet Mohammed use to fast on Monday's & Thursday's

@@katherinemargeson8082 yes of course we start fasting from dusk until down and we can eat the rest of the night. It's actually not even 24 hours
Exactly. And it feels so good! Ramadan Kareem everyone!

Thanks darlin, I'm gonna follow suit. ❤
Hi what is dry fast? Thanks
Adequate sleep is also crucial to keep hunger hormones in check 😴
Crucial
Ginger water is absolutely awesome during food fast.Try it mix.with glass of lemon water in between .That's how I do it.
Well said 👍🏻👍🏻
nothing throws my diet off like bad sleep!
I love how you added a disclaimer that people should consult a doctor first, it is very important and I don't see it very often on weight loss and dieting videos/articles.
Borislava Mladenova Every business person who wants to avoid law suits adds a disclaimer 🙂
Doctors dont promote it coz they say it ruins metabolism.
I love the way Anna presents this, she doesn't get lost in the science, just gives us the facts we need to take action.

During Intermittent fasting (16-18 hours) I lost 10 lbs and my husband lost 30 lbs.
In what time period?
I have started to fast almost 20 days ago and have already lost 4.5 pounds! I'm so, so happy I cannot even describe it. It actually works. I'm fasting for 18 hours as you do, but I skip dinner instead of breakfast. It's more challenging but I think this is exactly what I need to teach myself self-control.
Thank you for spreading this out. It has helped me a lot. I'll continue doing this and I'll surely start fasting for 24h or more once a week.
Ya sound ana.
Fasting is brilliant. I've lost a dress in a matter of days. My mind is clearer and I have a ton of energy!! Thank you for your fantastic channel.
I have done intermittent fasting before and it gives good results (2-3 pounds per week) improved thinking, etc.
how did you do it, i want to start but i don't know hot to go about it... let's say i try intermittent fasting for 18 hours how many times a week should i do it?
I, too, did daily fasting. But, over this weekend, I was admitted to the ER for low ferratin (3.0) and low hemoglobin (7.0), for which blood transfusions and IV iron were required. Fasting worked for me for years, but I did not know that, little by little--and despite daily vitamin supplements--my levels were steadily dropping. And, I had no prior conditions, was in good health, etc. So, I encourage those who try fasting out to get bloodwork done every 3 months, a CBC and BMP, just to stay on top of any deficiencies.
Good advice ! Thank you.

Much more sensible than the stuff in this video.
I fast 1 day a week from over 2 years. I feel amazing
That is my goal :)
So fasting is to eat around 11am for breakfast and then having dinner at around 6pm every day?
Letisia Rodriguez Nope.
For how many hours ? Dry fast or water in between ?
Fasting has changed my life!!! I’ve finally found something that has worked for me and I’ve been doing it for about a year now. Total game changer. Thanks for sharing!
I do fasting too for some time, and it's been amazing, my body is well-balanced and I can eat what i like and want, not doing any weird diets and restricting calories.
I have been fasting for years (almost 10 years now) without knowing it’s “fasting”... thanks to you I learned something about myself.
Cara Anna,
I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
That isn't fasting.

I'm sure that your lifestyle will differ from mine, so keep in mind that what works for me (being vegan) may not work for you. You might enjoy eating meat, eggs, and other foods and that's okay. You can find what works best for you.
Consuming high quality salt (sea salt or pink salt) during a fast gives your body electrolytes and eases the hunger sensation. You will be able to fast longer this way.
Jen Cameron Agreed! Dr Berg also agrees.
It definitely works! Just regular sea salt too!
How much?
Pink salt is expensive hehe
So how does it work? It sounds like pseudoscience.
I tried this exactly 2 weeks ago after watching this video, and I lost 7 pounds already. I was intermittent fasting 5 days a week but now I have to cut it down to 4 days because it’s working a little too well and I don’t want to disappear 😂
How many hours do you fast?
@@sineenejaz1361 The same as Anna. 18 hours.
It's so important to understand that it's not always what we eat but what we don't eat as well. Our body is a temple and what we put in it is important
Human growth hormone is released at the optimal time of 13 hours into a fast. It's the best time to exercise.

Like you. I appreciate that you mention the "food culture" in society. It is appalling the ways in which so many eat themselves to death and sentence themselves to lives of perpetual insecurity.
This is said to be anti aging
I’ve done a watermelon fast for 3 days and I never felt so great in my life! Giving your digestive system a rest so your body can use that energy to clean is one benefit to fasting.

@@lordmoseslalanolalala2808 It's a cleanse. But similar results apparently.
Plus no breakfast and no bread in general and also no food after 8 p.m. ;) just my 2 cents 😊
Thank you Anna for your positive energy and sense of style and intelligent approach to life !!!
Xoxo
Stephanie Marin Who are they to know?! lol Nothing is wrong with eating OMAD!
AllaCinderella so why can’t it work with breakfast then?

You get what I'm saying. Listen to your body. Sugar is the devil. Water is life. God bless and good luck! 😉
Also, don't we have many days worth of energy stored up in our muscles as glycogen and in our fat stores?
a. al If you eat A very concious breakfast it can work.
"The Obesity Code" by Dr Jason Fung-- he explains it all scientifically.
I wish more people saw your comment. Jason Fung is an excellent fasting resource.
I bought his book COMPLETE GUIDE TO FASTING.
I would like to see what you eat exactly in the 6 hour window. Please make a video on it.
I am loving binging on all of your videos. You are so elegant and you're truly helping other women realize that under all of their swearing, bad manners, and improper attire that they are classy too.
Jesus says fast and get rid of the ill spirits. I just completed my yearly 7 day fast! Praise Jesus ♥️🙏🏾
Sis how Sis?
AMEN! I am fasting tomorrow in prayer.
That is awesome! Praise the Lord!
This is brilliant, I also do fasting and have not gained any weight in 10 years. Keeps you healthy and fit
You can NOT go an entire 3 days without water please don't. I AM A HEALTHCARE provider, always drink water
The M Network there is water in most food so I'm sure you did have water, even if you didn't directly drink it.
I did it and almost passed out so I have to agree that it does not work for me
Can you elaborate on ' healthcare provider'?
@Bon.Vivant would you encourage your patients to not drink/ have any water intake for 3 days??
Ok I'm talking about nothing by mouth that contains water or water itself for 3 days, it is bad. If it does work it's because your extremely dehydrated, and will most likely all come back when you begin eating and drinking again.
Here I am, trying my best to gain some weight, and I am still watching this video just because I am running out on videos of you to watch!! :D can't wait for each new upload! One of the very few useful channels you can really learn stuff from!
I like water fasting.
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day but breakfast literally means to break your fast so it doesn't matter if you have breakfast early or not
oh gosh, I ve never interpreted the meaning of the word "breakfast"....)
I find fasting makes my focus alot stronger, and my energy levels are good.
Same for me too!
I notice my hair sheds a lot less then when I'm not fasting
Me too 😀
Do you exercise while fasting like one would normally do?
Iris Of course, why wouldn’t you. Just live your normal active life.
Love em.
I love how you stay up to date on these things and don’t hold on to rigid guidelines when they no longer serve you.
Well done!
Awesome I did a dry fasted hike today! 25,000 steps, Ive been dry fasting for 7 years
Breakfast is technically the most important meal of the day, not because of when it is commonly consumed or because of what is commonly consumed at this meal, but because it literally means Break-Fast. It is to break your fasting. Breakfast is technically the first meal consumed after having fasted. ☺️ When I first heard it explained this way to me I was amazed! It is crucial to consider what you are consuming at all times, especially after fasting. 😘
I love all of your content Anna Bey. You are truly a gorgeous woman. Thank you for sharing your insight and all things lovely. ♥️
I eat beef bone broth with celery and carrots to break fast, I also take chamomile and raw honey tea
Yes! Thank you. As a fellow editor, I appreciate it.
@@missme3331 nope
