DEAREST ANNA , HELLO. MOST , ABOUT 99 PERCENT OF MY CLOTHES ARE " HEFTY BLACK TRASH BAGS " MATERIALS . BECAUSE OF THIS , I HAVE SAVED MILLIONS OF DOLLARS . AND MY REAL ANIMAL FURS CAME FROM ALREADY DEAD ANIMAL FROM THE WILD . AND MORE MILLIONS FROM THAT . ANNA , MY DEAR , HAVE YOU BEEN AS FRUGAL AS I DO ? ANNA , REMEMBER , ITS NEVER EVER TOO LATE TO START , OKAY ? DON'T CRY 😢😭 ME A RIVER .
According to my kibbe it’s actually better I wear skinny pants and wide leg pants will have me looking like a little girl trying to wear her moms clothes 😅
I love that Anna goes straight to the point and doesn't say the same thing for 10 minutes straight. On the contrary her speech is very dense. Kudos for the communication skills.
for sure!! and also a great way to train my listening in English, great class!! I'm Brazilian and I love training English with Anna!! Elegant accent too 👏👏
You know the thing I respect about you the most, is the fact that you can admit to your own mistakes. Just like in this video, where you admitted to taking back a recommendation that you yourself made. Just like in other videos where you talk about your life before you decided you elevate it. Major respect!
Amal’s look is a great example, however a bad example is Melania to criticize! She gets the colour combinations right all the time and understands what complements what. That takes knowledge and courage!
Just a note on fur - fur has been around for many decades. There is nothing wrong with buying ethically sourced fur coats (do your research before buying) Some of the most elegant, and educated women will source the most beautiful fur coats that last the test of time AND pass them down to future generations. It’s these millennials and new money people that have no idea how to wear it and it can look cheap. Anna, consider the history of the garments when you talk about this! Viva fur forever!
I regret buying this sweater that was kind of wide at the waist and too long and made me look frumpy with a skirt that I was embarrassed wearing it. lol
Usually you're on point, but I disagree about the matchy-matchy thing. I think all those examples you showed looked great! I like the intentionality of it.
I love her style.. and also it is much easier to combine different neural shades. She is wearing a lot of stronger colors and they need to match to look polished. I guess it comes down to taste.
I actually think the matching colors look much more cohesive and refined than the mismatching shades and tones that were in some of the other examples. Whenever you talk about someone going from trash outfits to elegant and elevated, Melania always pops in my mind. Her style is so beautiful and sophisticated. I always love your videos, Anna! You have the best tips, even if we don’t always see eye to eye 😊
I love Melania’s matchy matchy aubergine outfit. Swoon! I am size 18 & love wearing large sweaters. Life is short so I wear fashion that warms my heart.
Thank you for not only giving valuable information about elegance and style, but also for educating about animal cruelty in fashion and the damage to the environment caused by "fast fashion" as well, as you have done in many other videos ❤
Agree with Most of what you said except Melania comment. She is one of the most elegant ladies out there. I remember seeing her in in a really casual outfit t shirt jeans and utility jacket and she made ordinary look extraordinary!
Thank you for speaking up against the animal cruelty of the fur and leather industries! I’m not an elegant lady but I do love learning about it, I love your tips!
Exactly - I’m 5’3 with a shorter torso with minimal hourglass - I do for long dresses - romantic style - high waist pants, « cropped » tops, etc… I realized all the oversized fashion looks terrible on me, does nothing for my height or my figure. I also had to realize I needed to get into shapewear and wear slimmer looks instead of hiding in large things just because I don’t have a super flat stomach - I’m a size 4-6. Body image can have you dressing wrong when you don’t really have to.
Says who ? Every body type is different. I’m the same exact size and height as the lady commenting; crop tops and high waisted pants are my go to because it really accentuates my waist …. Gives me a waist line. Almost every stylist recommends these looks on me. I also have long limbs so that has a lot to do with it as well. What might not work for some or even the majority will work wonders for others.
Same! I’m 5’2 with a bigger bust. So my waist has to be shown at all times or i just look big even though I’m average weight lol. Crop tops and high waist look the best on me or bodycon dresses as long as the material is thick & not cheap looking
I found your channel a month ago. I was searching for "how to give yourself a makeover" videos. As a college student, I currently wear extremely casual clothing like cargo pants, oversized tshirts, baggy jeans, sneakers, and hip-hop jewelry - this kind of style is considered cool in my college. On top of everything, I have multiple piercings on my ears. Even though this kind of style is considered cool, I see so many students wearing the exact same style, whether they are girls or guys. Even though I work out every day and have a toned hourglass body, I feel just like another guy because of my clothing style. I used to wear feminine clothing until a few years ago. In the last 30 days, I've watched all the videos on your channel and attended all the free workshops as I can't afford the paid content yet. You've inspired me to become a woman once again. I feel so much better mentally. I have applied so many of your tips in my life. I also started reading self-help books and I’m focusing more on my studies these days. I'm also working on building an elegant and classy wardrobe from scratch as I plan to donate my current clothes since I don't feel like myself in them. I'm shopping at thrift stores because I have a tight budget. Dear Anna, you've changed my life and my mindset! I'm so grateful for everything you've taught me so far! I can't thank you enough! 💖
You’re doing so well , I’m proud of you Im 23 now and l used to dress the way you just described but after watching Anna’s videos l don’t look at my Jordans the same anymore 😂
When my friend graduated from college I told her it was time to ditch the college clothes (cargo pants, t shirts, flip flips) and start dressing like an adult. She was taken aback but took it to heart and slowly began building a new wardrobe from the clearance racks at Banana Republic. Months later she thanked me and said she liked her new polished and feminine look and she was enjoying the compliments she began receiving from others.
My mom taught me that those types of clothing is for inside the house only and you just don't go out looking like you're in pajamas in public or at work.
I'm a larger gal and I can attest to the mistake of trying to cover my flaws by wearing baggy tops. I finally got over my fear and started wearing fitted garments. Much better!
Skinny silhoutte pants/jeans will never completely go out of style - at least not according to a recent InStyle Magazine article. It's ok if something doesn't flatter your body type and you personally don't want to wear it, but we have all known for decades how everything comes in and out repeatedly. Just like the denim dress Anna is wearing in the video is very reminiscent of a dress style from the 80's (this is something you can google yourself if you're curious).
Flares and Bell Bottoms look so bad on most people. Everyone should know that Skinny Jeans are a perennial fashion STAPLE on a well proportioned woman.
@@deborahsauter9794 if i have to wear skinny bottoms, i can only wear them during winter and with boots. and not skinny JEANS, but more like thicker leggings for warmth. i've tried a pair of skinny jeans before, and i never felt comfortable in them. so yeah, skinny jeans are NEVER a fashion staple for me. i guess i'm not a well proportioned woman too, so probably i'm in the minority since skinny jeans are apparently a perennial fashion staple 😆😆😆
Thank you, Anna, about talking about the current trends. It is a relief to hear you say this trend (over size) is not for everyone. I am only 5'3" and "thick". I love you and your channel. You are a guiding light in the darkness of fast fashion. ❤
@@deborahsauter9794 I think there's always a fine balance with it looking effortless and trying too hard - if you already wear a lot of separates of one particular colour it can look so well put together if you block them. It takes a bit of courage in a bold colour (like bottle green, red, or royal blue), but wear it with confidence and good makeup/hair and most people will look at you in a positive light I think feel.
Thank you!!! You are the first influencer to bring up what we all know- the oversized trend is not flattering on anyone under size 2. I don’t even like it.
I literally just proved a point on oversized clothes yesterday. I'm a smidge under 5 foot, size 10/12 European and hourglass shaped. My sister is three inches smaller in height and size 14/16, also hourglass shaped. She wears oversized clothes and frankly looks like a walking barrel in them. I took her with me to H&M and into the changing room to try on her styles to show her how her style looks on me. I looked awful in them and shapeless. Then I dressed her in my tailored but slightly retro style and tutored her in fit and figure. It was a game changer. You can be any size you want but don't wear oversized clothes head to foot. It looks untidy and as if you're trying to hide. Huge thanks to H&M staff at my store who were absolutely fantastic! Retail staff are legendary.
Regarding dresses with drop waist - as someone with very long legs but a very short torso, the drop waist is one of the only styles making me look proportionate. So just know your proportions and how to work with them.
Thank you for your ideas, I have always hated the pants tucked into boots look. Both myself and friends have been gifted real fur coats from important women in our lives. These coats not only have sentimental value, they were made decades ago, are extremely warm - I have no guilt wearing them. Faux fur today is quite glamorous and lovely, an option our mothers and grandmothers did not have. It would dishonor them to throw their lovely coats in the landfill.
I love cardigans! My temperature sensitivity makes them the best choice for me. Furs - I never liked the look of them. Recently I've tried to find boots that go with skirts, but they are all too tight and I'm not that fat, my calves are not wide.
100% right on the oversized clothes. I’ve always stuck to form fitting clothes because anything loose made me took 10x bigger than I was (i had an athletic but hourglass body maybe size 4). Then I lost maybe 15 lbs (size 0) and for first time in my life loose oversized clothes work!
To each their own -at your size 4 or a zero I doubt it really is a big deal. Some people like it and if it gets them put together and out of the house, carry on. The worst case scenario is not that you look 10x bigger than you are (especially if starting at a size 0).
Although I am not looking to changing my lifestyle (I am more of a street-style person) and I am mostly watching Anna's videos for fun, I am now realizing how watching those influenced me and actually made my outfits so much more elevated. It's amazing.
I agree with ana. The clothes were too obviously matched. Better that somebody looks pleasing without the observer knowing exactly why. It will be subtly matched
Thank you Anna for speaking out against fur! It is absolutely cruel what they do to those poor animals. Like you said, there are so many more ways to look elegant.
Hi @@Jaz-wx4vo Leather is a by-product, the animals are not bred & slaughtered specifically for their pelt. The fur trade is imho, abhorrent. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to wear real fur for fashion when there are fabulous alternatives. It's just a selfish, blinkered mindset. If those people saw 'their' fur coat being ripped from the screaming animals it belonged to one would hope they would have a huge change of heart... but many just don't care about anything but themselves.
I really think the most of the looks she showed as flampy were fine. It’s a lot to do with style too. I don’t necessarily think fitted is better than oversized pieces… just saying! Love you Ana 😘
I think the issue is that fashion is becoming so ugly, and shapeless. It’s very hard to find tasteful clothes when they are not easily sold. Most fast fashion looks like potato sacks.
I love Anna's videos and have been a follower for many years. I disagree about the points made about fitted jeans and Melania Trump's style. I am short and petite, wide legged jeans make me look like a box - whilst fitted jeans are very flattering and can be so versatile. Matching/harmonising your shoes and bags is actually a timeless fashion basic law for coherence. I love that Anna spoke up about fur ❤🙌🙌🙌
Miss Bey, I cannot thank you enough for speaking with frankness about fur and your perspective on it. I wish you every success, and I am grateful for your UA-cam content. You are almost always on point, and there aren't many beauty/fashion channels which can claim that. Thank you and every good wish to you.
Anna Bey, hearing you explain how wearing fur [hair and skin torn from innocent animals] looks cheap is just what fashion fans need to hear! You are so right - looking classy need never involve cruelty, and wearing fur to prove your worth is so passé.
my skinny trousers are to be worn with high boots while slogging through mud and so on There is a photo of Princess Catherine with her skinny trousers inside tall boots, while in Balmoral. She looked marvelous dressed that way in Scotland.
I am glad you talk about the weight, scale, overall proportions, the size and other factors in considering what is suitable for one's figure. I, for example, have an oversized b...tt and oversized thighs (at least in my opinion) and therefore NEVER wear pants. Instead I prefer all types of A-lines skirts, preferably midi-length, which makes me look slimmer on my relative not quite petite figure..I do wear some pencil type skirts, but mainly in a dark color, since light colors emphasize the size. I am glad midi-length skirts are in right now, since I love to wear them with boots. I appreciate your educated suggestions and opinions.
Thank you thank you for shedding the light on animal cruelty, I was so afraid you were going to promote the wear of real fur. I have seen videos of how those animals are treated and it makes me cry each and every time.
Honestly I love Melania Trumps style, she always looks well put together. Also I have inherited some furs and will wear them, they are warmer than any other coat, I would not buy a new one personally.
I'm 63 and I agree with virtually everything here. I've found that I've had to up my game as I've gotten older and being polished and classic but not boring is always the goal. That being said, I'll never get rid of my leggings - they're just too comfortable and easy.
Thanks, Anna. No wide leg pants for me! Re fur...i have many furs, all bought 2nd hand. I wear them for warmth as I run very cold. They are light and the warmest. I love animals. These precious fur garments keep me warm & well.
I finally discovered why I like how a slightly dropped waist looks on me: I have longer than average legs with a short torso. So for me, that slight drop balances out my proportions. Like you say, it's all about knowing what works for your body.
read my comment about it, I love drop waist dresses. Those are so classic and very hard to find for years. They make bodies look so much nicer if they are cut right and not too tight.
I agree with you on everything. I always listen to your advice carefully and take it to an action with my simple budget, and that makes me feel good about myself. I don’t have to shop expensive clothes to feel expensive, just choose what works for me body and makes me look elevated. I love your channel and I always look forward to hearing from you.
I inherited a vintage white rabbit stoal that has been in my family for several generations. I would never buy a new piece but I can not let that one go. Too many family memories and I feel connected to the past when I wear it. All of my current pieces were purchased as faux. When we know better, we do better. ❤
Anna´s style is elegant. We women do not pay attention to our clothes daily - sometimes never - but we ought to do it. Not like a friend of mine, who answers: " Colors and prints not matching? Who cares, I am in the city center only for 2 h. No one knows me." It is often amazingly difficult to get this message through. We do not need to look like the top models on a glossy magazine, -just put together and clean, ironed, and somehow stylish. All the best.
Grammatically speaking... it's either 'most frumpy' or 'frumpiest' or 'frumpier', not 'most frumpiest' or 'most frumpier'. I'm not criticizing, believe me, but I thought you would like to know since you are about elevating us to be the best we can be. Using correct grammar also 'elevates' us. xo
Love the video. Gotta say, as a Brazilian, skinny trousers if not too tight match our feminines style because here it is a good thing to have voluptuous curvy legs.
Anna, just a question. What is the moral difference in wearing fur coat vs leather boots? Seems that there is a lot of support towards one of them and respecitvely a lot of dissaproval to the other, but I personally do not see any difference between cow's leather and mink fur Greetings
Exactly what I've been pondering. Also, consuming animal products on a daily basis, while unconditionally disaprove of wearing fur...like okay...where's the logic here? 😄
Production of fur: bad animal treatment and only the fur is used. As long as animals were eaten it makes sense to use the whole animal, for example for leather production. - Vegan leather production is very often not very ecological.
@@wallybistrich3474 I dont think that animals to be eaten are treated better than animals for fur 😃 in order for fur to look good, animal has to be healthy, with shiny hair. Fur is expensive for a reason. In order to kill animal for food, just google chicken farms and how small those cages are. Millions of them killed every day for fastfood, so there are the worst conditions - because food has to be cheap
I would never buy a new fur that’s just cruelty but I won’t stop rocking my grandmother’s vintage furs. I would rather wearing it than throwing it away. I am super supportive to the vintage/second hand industry in general.
I totally agree with you, ANA. I stopped using skinny jeans after one of your past videos . I'm Latina, and I'm curvy, and I recognize that skinny jeans don't suit me, I look unstetic 😢and bigger. Thanks, Anna, for all your suggestions ❤have a wonderful week!
The intro is hilarious. I love your sense of humor through very clear messages and you have the best facial expressions, being disgusted and cute at the same time is not an easy thing to do :D
Ever since I started watching your channel, you’ve given some great advice that I try to keep in mind every day! I don’t like oversized clothes anyway, so I don’t have to worry. I do prefer elegant styles that flatter my body.
Hi Anna , I do like your subjects and the method you teach us how to be an elegant lady. However, in my opinion being an elegant lady is not only related to our clothes. The most of your videos are about this topic. I personally follow you to learn more about other aspects of elegancy like speaking, listening, presenting, introducing ourselves, even teaching in an elegant way ❤❤❤❤ Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate your efforts to make us understand how to have a good lifestyle and classy manner
I love you Anna, and absolutely soak up your tips and courses, but I have one suggestion. I hope this tip is taken in the same spirit that I am delivering it, which is to be helpful, not hurtful. A tip I learned in Interior Design school was that the vocabulary will make you sound like a professional- or not. For example, a professional interior designer would never say "couch." It is a sofa. Along the same lines, I have heard this term spoken several times, which always makes me pause. When describing the thickness or drape of the fabric, the key term is fabric, not material. Thanks again for such great content Anna. I know you are always looking to improve therefore, I thought I would offer something to level up your vocabulary even more.
Thank you for being honest and keeping us bigger gals in mind. I totally agree with everything! When will I get the courage to wear wide leg pants though? I feel so huge in them…
I would like to see videos about more casual looks but elevated at the same time, just outfits that look "effortlessly" chic and classy. Many of us just have regular jobs or work from home and not all of us dress so elegantly when going out in mall or park, or with friends.
Would like some tips on this too. I don't go many places where I can dress overtly elegant. I'm usually going to casual places. How to look elevated and chic on the more casual outings (without looking too done up). The park to go on a walk is a place I usually feel frumpy. I'm not big on wearing activewear, so what else would be appropriate to look nice (for example, if you're on a date to a park).
That's the problem. The stores don't have too many coordinated classical casual clothing. It's either rags or too fancy items. What happened to the looks from the 70's and 80's and 90's when classical clothing was everywhere? And leggings should be banned from public and considered pajama wear.
When it's -40C-50C nothing will keep you nonfrozen but natural fur. Maybe it's about an ego in warm countries but they're some places in the world where it's cold. Btw, what's about the the cut-off sleeves on this jean-dress today? It should be included in today's list.
Thank you Anna for pointing out animal cruelty, and that we do NOT need to harm animals to look expensive or try to impress others. I think the opposite is true for people who still wear fur, they look like terrible people. I have also been trying to use beauty products from companies that don't test on animals, another barbaric practice that needs to be outlawed! Enjoy all of your videos so much! Thank you for all the good advice 💜
when it comes to cruelty free cosmetics/skin care, i usually rely on the Leaping Bunny list. i dont rely on the PETA list since PETA does not require annual renewal of being a cruelty free company. nor does PETA require that companies not only be cruelty free at product level, but also at ingredient level where it really matters. Leaping Bunny has more stringent requirements for companies to sustain their cruelty free label
Another poster on here pointed out that cashmere is cruel, wool is cruel, silk is cruel. So that pretty much takes out all natural fabrics except cotton and linen blends.
But unfortunately she sometimes make advertising videos with Lilysilk or any other silk whitch is also a very huge animal cruelty (PETA report about silk production).
thank you for speaking up against fur as elegance! many years ago I bought a Korean vintage rabbit fur coat, rationalizing that because it had been bought/worn before I wasn't contributing to fur markets. When I looked inside, I saw the stitching where they attached each of the skins. On this small short jacket, there were probably 10+ rabbits used. It was disgusting and made me feel the exact opposite of luxury. I had a small animal graveyard around me. Bleh. It's gone now, but don't make this same mistake!
When I was a child, I always thought the animals' fur was shaved; I never in my wildest dreams thought the poor animals were killed. If some people want to wear fur, they should let their own body hair grow no more shaving, waxing, etc.
@@zilam98 poor animals. The only animals that deserve to be skinned alive are the so called "humans" killing the animals and the "humans" wanting the fur.
Unfortunately happens sometimes that actually also sheep are skinned alive in their back for profit more in some terrific farm for wool production, be aware of that and choose "mulesing free" wool clothes, please ❤
Those of us who came of age in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, or if that's when we gained our style sense, are often stuck on the matchy matchy thing. It was expected back then, very strongly! And was the only way to look classy and elegant at the time? And the more unique & difficult-to-find the color, the classier & wealthier it looked. Now we have to look more mature, elegant, realistic, classic - and less like a careful, monochrome cartoon 😅 Thank you, Anna!
Thank you anna for pointing out style for normal weight ladies or over weight plus size. Fall fashion seems to be made for skinny girls we feel left out and end up wearing baggy clothes. I m grateful to you for talking about normal people 🙏 waiting for ur more videos ❤
Melania Trump is undoubtably one of the best dressed fashion icons of our era. She's beautiful, elegant and poised and her co-ordinated outfits project old money!
I agree that a lot of these things that we've been conditioned to accept as must-haves or essentials at some point, especially by luxury brands, don't actually look very good, or only on certain body types. Thank you for saying it out loud.
Dear Anna! Since I started watching your videos a few months ago, I sure did overthink my style. And nowadays, I get so many compliments for my Look! So greatful.
Thank you for speaking out against fur 🙏🏽it’s absolutely disgusting that people would buy into animal cruelty for the sake of status!!! Absolutely heartbreaking how these innocent animals are treated! Thank you Anna please keep speaking out against fur 🙏🏽❤️
As a woman over 60, my style has changed many, many times, but some styles of clothing will always work, and some do not. 😊I think most of us want to “put our best foot forward,” so videos like yours help, whether we agree with the suggestions or not.
Whilst I agree that an all out fur look can appear cheap, I think it can still be worn elegantly (like a beautiful vintage fur coat). I also think its important to think about the source of your fur, and making sure you are not buying the skin of an endangered animal. However don’t see much ethically wrong with wearing skin from pest species (in Australia it’s rabbit and fox) or animals where the meat is being consumed as well. Humans have relied on animals for resources for thousands of years, so I think its a big statement that animal products should be avoided totally.
@@mikaylafarmers5901 But you also have to think when people wear fur nowadays it almost 100% of the time looks tacky. And it doesn’t matter where the fur is sourced from or if it’s an endangered animal or not, because people won’t know that. People will associate you with a certain stereotype that way, and not only that but furs have been out of fashion for decades. It’s better to avoid furs in general as it also ages people who wear it.
@@sadkitten1649 I disagree. I think a vintage fur styled properly can look chic and give a certain vibe. A lot of people (including fashion people and celebrities) still wear fur and, while I completely disagree with purchasing new garments, they don’t look tacky or aged. I personally love animals very much and I hope they will stop being treated like objects in the law but the herd mentality drives me crazy, both in fashion and elsewhere.
You should do a video on the overuse of botox especially in the lips. It can hinder your style when someone is unable to focus on your style due to over inflated lips.
This was excellant info. Thanks for calling out how all the trends don't work for everyone. Making note: body shape, fabric, too much matchy. You have such an eye. I trust your knowledge.
Thank you for raising awareness about fur! It's such important topic in fashion. However I don't agree with statement that killing animals for fur is worst type of cruelty. What animals endure in slaughterhouses is just as horrific. With so many alternatives available nowadays, it's so unnecessary. Please look it up.
What about fur pieces that are in your family for generations? I have like 5 or 6 pieces of fur that are here with me and my mom used, my grandma used... What do I do with them? They are so beautiful. I think it would be such a waste not to use it....
Me too. I inherited beautiful furs. I plan to wear them but not buy more. Indigenous people in Alaska and Siberia today still make furs by hand to wear for warmth in their cold climate to work and live. Anna Bey is not speaking about these, she is addressing the fur trade for MONETARY PROFIT. Big difference! 😊
It’s funny, as a man watching these videos. Very spot on analysis. And great advice. More modest elegant style really does complement a women in the ways you mention. And honours the dignity more than the trends.

I was wondering if anyone else was thinking the same thing. I thought she looked 💯
I agree with your comments about oversized clothing - for most of us it is completely unflattering and make us look bigger and sloppy.

Whenever you talk about someone going from trash outfits to elegant and elevated, Melania always pops in my mind. Her style is so beautiful and sophisticated. I always love your videos, Anna! You have the best tips, even if we don’t always see eye to eye 😊
I completely agree with you ❤❤❤
I agree
I agree with you. I liked most of those matching outfits more elegant than those mixed ones.
I agree with Anna...the exact matchy-matchy looked harsh as opposed to refined
I agree with you! I thought those outfits were super elegant and almost high fashion
I love Melania’s matchy matchy aubergine outfit. Swoon! I am size 18 & love wearing large sweaters. Life is short so I wear fashion that warms my heart.
I love Melanias looks in this video i can't see a problem there 😮
Thank you for not only giving valuable information about elegance and style, but also for educating about animal cruelty in fashion and the damage to the environment caused by "fast fashion" as well, as you have done in many other videos ❤
I agree. Besides, people will form an opinion about you based on what you wear if you choose to wear fur.
Why not fur, but leather and silk is okay? Love them all. ❤
YEAH apparently leather that comes from alive animals is somehow better than fur for these hypocritical animal activist fashionistas @@teedollxx
@@teedollxxI agree, I love my fur, leather, and silks as well.
Melania will always look cheap ...
I agree on the matching but Melania looked amazing on those two pictures
Agree with Most of what you said except Melania comment. She is one of the most elegant ladies out there. I remember seeing her in in a really casual outfit t shirt jeans and utility jacket and she made ordinary look extraordinary!
Thank you for speaking up against the animal cruelty of the fur and leather industries! I’m not an elegant lady but I do love learning about it, I love your tips!
I love matchy matchy and Melanie Trump style!
I absolutely love the oversized, good-quality v-neck cardigan this autumn... 👍 Nothing wrong with it if you style it correctly in my humble opinion.
Im there.
If my cardigans say that I’ve given up on life, I’m okay with that.
It definitely says fashion isn’t my life.
Oversized items drape well if you have broad shoulders - the result is frumpy if you have narrow shoulders.
I'm 5'3 and petite. Straight legs and wide leg trousers make me look FRUMPY.
Yep. I’ve tried on tons and most make me look frumpy and add on weight too 🤷🏼♀️
I look like I'm wearing "mom jeans". 🤣
Same here. Not a good look for me!
Short torsos don't look good in high waisted pants and some cropped tops though.
shapewear is essential when trying to wear more slim fitting tops and dresses
You’re on the right track!
dressing like how Anna has advocated in her content will prepare you well for career after college. you won't struggle as much with office/work wear
You’re doing so well , I’m proud of you
Im 23 now and l used to dress the way you just described but after watching Anna’s videos l don’t look at my Jordans the same anymore 😂
I disagree-Melanie always looks classy & tailored! Just fabulous ❤
Who said skinny jeans are for EVERYbody?@@zilam98
I'm a bit heavier now (UK 14) and I find skinny jeans look great on me. I'm tall & proportional. Yes legs look thick , but they are thick 😂
Lucky !!!Thick legs are IN ! I lift very heavy to make my legs thick like JLo ! ❤️
Thank you Anna for speaking openly about animal cruelty. You are not only beautiful, elegant and smart but also kind ❤
Anna isn’t pregnant but she never fails to deliver
This is so funny 😂
Underrated comment😂
she’s the midwife of elegance 😊

Anna is a definition of learing and un-learning and I love that journey for her and for us, the ones who also take some tips from her.
Melania is a trendsetter and carried very well those colours. You have different personality you many not like it but she absolutely smashes it.
Love the matchy matchy! The photos shown were elegant and put together.
Thank you, Anna, about talking about the current trends. It is a relief to hear you say this trend (over size) is not for everyone. I am only 5'3" and "thick". I love you and your channel. You are a guiding light in the darkness of fast fashion. ❤
As a 'clear/bright Spring' seasoned girl, the matchy-matchy in bold colours is a really fun look for me that I love. Monochromaxima!!
Yes, matchy always looks more INTENTIONAL ! It is no longer insulted in fashion circles.
I actually think wide trousers make people look hefty unless you’re stick thin… 🤷🏼♀️
I agree it doesn't look good on anyone.
I love a cigarette tailored pants or jeans.
Wide trousers make me look like I'm a walking BOX 😂
@@StrawberryPavlova1 right! That’s my point. I honestly don’t really think anyone looks great in them. Idk
And tall too, i am thin but short and I look awful even in straight trousers/jeans

Although I am not looking to changing my lifestyle (I am more of a street-style person) and I am mostly watching Anna's videos for fun, I am now realizing how watching those influenced me and actually made my outfits so much more elevated. It's amazing.
Melania's outfits look much better than average. What a silly critique on monochromatic classics!
I agree with ana. The clothes were too obviously matched. Better that somebody looks pleasing without the observer knowing exactly why. It will be subtly matched
@@juliesharp5077 Almost monochromatic, planned outfits look much more EXPENSIVE!
Thank you Anna for speaking out against fur! It is absolutely cruel what they do to those poor animals. Like you said, there are so many more ways to look elegant.
No there isn't! Says my cat ❤😂
Fur made from wool like Max Mara teddy bear, honestly I like it and it's very warm.
I love faux fur I make no apologies for my fur coat and platform doc marten boots
What about leather? Is it any less cruel?
Hi @@Jaz-wx4vo Leather is a by-product, the animals are not bred & slaughtered specifically for their pelt. The fur trade is imho, abhorrent. There is absolutely no reason for anyone to wear real fur for fashion when there are fabulous alternatives. It's just a selfish, blinkered mindset. If those people saw 'their' fur coat being ripped from the screaming animals it belonged to one would hope they would have a huge change of heart... but many just don't care about anything but themselves.
I love matching. Older women like myself love matching.
I found all the "wrong" pictures fabulous...
Yes, Anna : your critiques were OFF!
Me too! From Melania to Rosie - all great looks ☺️ Better than the jeans dress I would say 😇😇
So true. The "slob look" is in. Someone should remind women that the burlap sack look never looked good.
True
I like the matchy-matchy.😊
I love Anna's videos and have been a follower for many years.
I disagree about the points made about fitted jeans and Melania Trump's style. I am short and petite, wide legged jeans make me look like a box - whilst fitted jeans are very flattering and can be so versatile. Matching/harmonising your shoes and bags is actually a timeless fashion basic law for coherence.
I love that Anna spoke up about fur ❤🙌🙌🙌
Thank you for raising awareness about animal cruelty! Luvya!!!
You are so right - looking classy need never involve cruelty, and wearing fur to prove your worth is so passé.
my skinny trousers are to be worn with high boots while slogging through mud and so on
There is a photo of Princess Catherine with her skinny trousers inside tall boots, while in Balmoral.
That being said, I'll never get rid of my leggings - they're just too comfortable and easy.
leggings should stay at home
I think Melania is so classy! Love her style! She’s gorgeous.
I love the oversized cardigan!
We do not need to look like the top models
on a glossy magazine, -just put together and clean, ironed, and somehow stylish. All the best.
My advice is never copy anyone else , be authentic and you are always going to nailed it, you know what it looks good on you so wear that.
Seems that there is a lot of support towards one of them and respecitvely a lot of dissaproval to the other, but I personally do not see any difference between cow's leather and mink fur
Greetings
Leather is a by product of the meat industry. Fur from non-meat providing animals is not.
Vegan leather production is very often not very ecological.
I personally follow you to learn more about other aspects of elegancy like speaking, listening, presenting, introducing ourselves, even teaching in an elegant way
❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much.
Also, the word SATIN - can be EITHER silk or polyester. Satin refers to the WEAVE , not the FIBER content.
I have a full fur coat and it was second hand and it keeps me warm in the winter and I am keeping it for that reason !
Thank you for being honest and keeping us bigger gals in mind. I totally agree with everything! When will I get the courage to wear wide leg pants though? I feel so huge in them…
Me too... I tried it, and started wearing skinny jeans again.
Finally someone calling out the oversized look!
❤💚♥️
Another poster on here pointed out that cashmere is cruel, wool is cruel, silk is cruel. So that pretty much takes out all natural fabrics except cotton and linen blends.
But unfortunately she sometimes make advertising videos with Lilysilk or any other silk whitch is also a very huge animal cruelty (PETA report about silk production).
Yes, I did it. And I think if she points out animal cruelty with fur, she should not advertise Lilysilk.
thank you for speaking up against fur as elegance! many years ago I bought a Korean vintage rabbit fur coat, rationalizing that because it had been bought/worn before I wasn't contributing to fur markets.
❤❤❤
When I was a child, I always thought the animals' fur was shaved; I never in my wildest dreams thought the poor animals were killed. If some people want to wear fur, they should let their own body hair grow no more shaving, waxing, etc.
@@catlillith not just outright killed. some are even skinned alive for some reason
This woman is so passionate about clothes it’s fantastic did I really hear her just say people who wear cardigans have given up on life 😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣
Those of us who came of age in the late 70s, 80s and early 90s, or if that's when we gained our style sense, are often stuck on the matchy matchy thing.
I love how straight forward you are. You offer comedy which we all need! 🥰

I love oversized cardigans and quite honestly I think I pull it off in a non frumpy way. Cozy, casual chic. 😏

Hopefully you are putting your money where your mouth is. I assume you are vegan?
And what about leather shoes,belts,bags…?
Furs are a good starting point!
As a woman over 60, my style has changed many, many times, but some styles of clothing will always work, and some do not. 😊I think most of us want to “put our best foot forward,” so videos like yours help, whether we agree with the suggestions or not.
Melania looks stunning…she’s basically in uniform as First Lady in the pics so it’s not like she’s being a civilian
Bravo about your fur opinion Anna, couldn't agree more. This isn't acceptable when animal cruelty is involved.
All my fur coats are farmed And(unapologetically) extremely warm)

This was excellant info. Thanks for calling out how all the trends don't work for everyone. Making note: body shape, fabric, too much matchy. You have such an eye. I trust your knowledge.
There are cashmeere and wool cardigans that don't look frumpy ... :( it also depends on the whole outfit , balance and proportions
Me too. The animal has been dead for years. Wear it with pride and joy of your memories. Faux fur is disgusting. It never breaks down in a landfill.
It’s funny, as a man watching these videos. Very spot on analysis. And great advice. More modest elegant style really does complement a women in the ways you mention. And honours the dignity more than the trends.
