I have a mild heart condition and my cardiologist tells me to never over eat or feel full. It takes a lot of blood to digest food which takes away from the heart. This applies to everyone. Carbs will make me feel hungover and keep me in bed all the next day. Still eat them, but I limit myself a lot.
Lots of elegant ladies are willing to spend hundreds in skin care, but forget that fruit and vegetables will do the work better than any of those products could. There are so many antioxidants in the food we shun as “healthy” instead of as “beauty elixirs”. Thank you for another great video!
That's absolutely true. I see ladies around treating their skin to such an extent that it feels like molesting it. But rarely do they remember that it is really all about what you eat. Healthy diet goes a long way.
4 months ago when you posted this video I was 190lbs, 5 feet tall. Today October, I have lost 37lbs!!! I’m now 153lbs! I lost the weight intermittent fasting! My goal weight is 110lbs. I will get there!!! I am determined! I also jog/walk everyday 3-5 miles.
My mother is a registered nutritionist with 35+ years of experience and she also believes it is the way to go. While I learned the term "intuitive eating" only in my late teen years, when I did I realized it was what we had been taught to do all along. My sister and I grew up never hearing the work "diet" and eating home-made meals and healthy snacks. We have _never_ struggled with being overwheight or anything like that. The stress-free relationship you gain with food is SO rewarding. Biting into a fresh apple becomes so satisfying that you don't need so much junk food to get satisfaction. I will definitely raise my children this way and hope more and more people will to break the cycle our society is in. Great video Anna!
@@suzannep6708 That's difficult to explain because it's more of a mind-set. But for example, there were never ANY comments about being thin/fat, having to be thin, "look at how fat she is", "you've gained weight", nothing of the sort. Nothing about dieting. It can seem scary because you'd think your children would get fat if you don't 'control' their weight, but it's precisely the opposite that happens. Second, we were in full control of the amounts of food we ate. Our mom controlled the quality of what came into the house, but that's it. Again, no comments were made about us eating too much or too little, so I never felt self-conscious or worried about that. When I was a teenager I ate SO MUCH (1 small meal after school and 2 plates at dinner!!), but my mother explained to me that it's because I was growing up and that was that. I always stayed my natural weight, which is thin, because I was listening to my hunger signals: eat when I'm hungry, stop when I'm not. She taught me how to cook healthy snacks (e.g., eggs), bought nuts and we always had a lot of fresh fruits and veggies ready to eat. As kids we had to take at least 1 bite of everything on our plate, even if we didn't like it. We never had to finish our plate: this is where adults teach kids to suppress their innate hunger regulation system (you have to trust that the hungry kid _will_ eat, but adding pressure just makes it stressful). Very important and unusual: we didn't have to finish our plate in order to get dessert. Because that automatically teaches the brain that dessert is 'a reward' for not listening to your hunger signals (which is crazy when you think about it). BUT we didn't have cakes or cookies all around the house! Our desserts were plain yogourt, whole-grain cereals, fruits, home-made cookies with nuts and flax seeds... very healthy lol. So the main dish was just as interesting. There's typically too much emphasis put on dessert, which _teaches_ kids to overfull themselves. And then, even if they're not hungry anymore, they _will_ eat their dessert because they'll feel they've earned it. Then these bad habits perpetuate into adulthood. Putting dessert on a pedestal needs to stop. A dessert should not be considered a reward. We had access to junk food every once in a while, but it was not because of "dieting" or anything like that, it was just... the way it was. Again, there was no control over the portion. But when you're used to eating normal quantities, you just keep doing that. Sodas were presented as "adult drinks", just like alcohol. Also: "doggy-bags"! If we were at the restaurant or even at home and that we liked something but were not hungry enough to finish it, we could have it wrapped up and saved for later (I know it's not the most elegant thing, sorry Anna! ;) ). If you know you won't lose your treat if you can't finish it now, those are calories you will ingest later when you actually need them. To conclude, we had all kinds of opportunities to play outside and ride our bicycles, so having an active lifestyle was always natural, even for me who is more of an intellectual. Hope that helps!!!
@@cindy846 Thank you so much for the explanation. I'm trying to figure out how to teach my 4yo and 3yo kids and your information helped me really so much.
I eat a lot and in these days I started eating at midnight also it's weird and also not good for health. I really need this kinda video. So thanks a lot.
I look up to you Ana and I’ve been losing weight since the 3rd of April. I was originally 171 pounds now I’m 149/147 I believe. I’m still losing weight, my goal is 120. I struggled with emotional eating too and also childhood trauma which has made me over weight.
For ladies in the US intermittent fasting is a great thing. But if you need a bit more structure but still want to be able to eat your own foods WW (formerly weight watchers-you can do it either in person via classes or online there’s an app to download that walks you through everything). I’ve used this to lose weight for years! Every time I need to go back and get on track again I go back to this, even if I think oh I’ll try let’s say keto-nope WW is for me. I bet over the years I’ve lost over 50+ lbs from when I was at my heaviest in college (probably even more than that) currently I’m at my lowest in about 6 years about 15 more to go to my goal!!!
@@nu4968 intermittent fasting, and now i'm 147, still going down. I did intermittent fasting for 12-8pm, two KETO meals a day, no carbs. but slowly i started adding carbs. i've also included exercises from chloe ting, i'm doing 46 minute workouts everyday now.
@@user-tm6ij6gx7r yep, intermittent fasting helped me soo much! i had a cheat day, after dieting for 7 weeks. i'm still going lower and i'm going to get to my goal
The sad thing is that “ intuitive eating “ is truly just eating. In today’s society so many people have a distorted way of eating that they have lost touch of their bodies natural hunger cues . Please don’t restrict my lovely ladies ❤️
Totally. No big truth revealed in this video. Is the logic and natural think we should learn control, by not eating and watching tv or. Really focusing on what you eat, how much. Size of stomach is the size of a fist. Which I think sums it up all. Variety, balance, small portions. The rest of "diets" and schemes you hear out there are just scams.
I agree. Most people eat intuitively by nature and tend to be aware of when they’re satisfied. Some people struggle with that as they may have a very big or small appetite for their size but the majority of us maintain weight just by listening to when we are actually hungry vs just bored
I know. I applaud her for encouraging sensible eating but if I “listened to my body” it would tell me to bring it chocolate chip cookies every damn day.
I got into mindfull eating all by myself, obe day I just started me asking „do I rlly need this?“ „am I rlly hungry?“ and then I lost 10 kg in 2 months and ever since I started with it I‘m feeling great and I‘ve lost 18 kg 🤗
Well it's impossible to make an affordable clothes line and have it be sustainable. So if she make a clothing line I hope it's environmentally conscious.
Fasting is a must for staying healthy. I did a 5-day medical supervised fast to reset my immune system which was over-active and making me very ill. By day 5 of the fast, I was feeling better than I ever felt in my life, I was wishing I never had to eat again. I highly recommend researching fasting or consulting a functional (integrative ) medicine specialist.
I think that the best thing a person can do is, eat clean and healthy, drink lots of water, do some exercise of any kind and make it fun and just don't weigh yourself. You'll see the results in the mirror and in your clothes. Losing weight should not be a stressful process and it shouldn't be taken so harshly. Instead think of it as doing yourself and your body a favor, 'cause at the end of the day, you're doing what is best for you. Screw what every one else thinks. Put your health first!
Could not agree more. Especially with the not weighing yourself. Several months ago I was working really hard to try and lose weight. I was eating healthy and exercising. After two weeks I weighed myself and nothing came off. I continued another two weeks and again, no difference. So I gave up. Now I just exercise daily and make good food choices. I’m doing it to make me feel good. Not to see the numbers on the scale shrink.
@@alexandras4535 keep it up and just stay healthy! Plus, the more you don't stress about it, the better you'll feel and end up accepting yourself. At the end of the day it's what we all want. After picking on every little flaw we have and comparing ourselves to other women, it gets exhausting. You won't probably end up like a model, and that's perfectly good! The world needs you for your diversity in breaking the female stereotype! We're all different and THAT'S perfect. Again, stay healthy and have a beautiful day 🙂❤
I love intermittent fasting. It has so many health benefits (autophagy, increased energy, anti-aging, anti-cancer, and anti-dementia effects) and it really does help me feel better-never giving it up.
I have been losing weight in quarantine, I’m the lowest weight I have been for years. Just been trying to stop eating when I’m full and that’s it, and making sure I don’t make huge portions like before. Loving the headband btw
Hi..can you tell me how you do it? I am Muslim too and I dont know how to start ...Do you fast on Mondays and Thursdays (it s Sunna.. ) ? Thank you very much🙄
S K you fast for 16 hours example u eat a mat 8:00 pm go to sleep night then the next day no breakfast u will eat at 12:00 pm but u can drink tea and coffee water no sugar, u will eat ur next meal at 8:00 pm try to eat vegetables and protein, less bread rice and pasta, soups salads and chicken is good if u can have one meal s day is much better, sleep well exercise is good too.
sara khan It‘s called intermittent fasting! You have a fasting window of 16-23 hours and another time window where you can eat! It‘s how we are during cavemen times and it‘s proven to have a lot of health benefits.
After years of over eating and dieting back and forth, I started listening to my body. Eatin once a day when Im actually hungry and drinking enough water and green tea made me lose around 8 kg in two months. Some people think its bad to eat once a day only but for me its the best way, Im not hungry when I wake up, I go around my day and have a late lunch when Im hungry, I distract myself so I dont snack or eat in front of tv in the evening cause 9/10 thats when I will overeat.
I just discovered your channel yesterday and I am ADDICTED to it. You are so empowering and your life lessons are so educational and helpful and you are also so straight up to the point and talk about all these topics... I love it! Keep on going, you are amazing!💛
I’m watching this video post pandemic. 2020 was a turbulent year for me. I gained a lot of kilos that year working at home, snacking too often and consuming red wine. I was consuming a lot of takeaways, high carb and sugary foods too often. It wasn’t until this year (2022) did I begin reducing carbs, increasing healthy eating, fasting and regular exercise. I went into keto this spring and so far I’ve lost 10kg. I love long walks in the evenings. I can now fit into my best clothes
It's so true, I never finish my plate, and friends always find that endearing, like it's unusual. However, I think "finishing your plate" is such a bad part of many cultures, especially in the US, where serving sizes are huge. You have to listen to your body and stop when you feel full.
Unless you are a grown person eating from a buffet, that is. I find it so rude when people put way too much food on their plate and then let it all go to waste.
@@wanjahe8749 exactly. Yes, serving sizes are large in restaurants (we hardly ever eat out), but thankfully, boxing up the leftovers has become acceptable. In situations where I am in control of how much goes on my plate, I need to eyeball what a good serving size is for _me_. I tell my children to start with a smaller portion - you can always take seconds - but don't be wasteful and take more than you ought to eat. On another chanel, a viewer shared that she had been raised to always leave something on her plate- a lady does not eat like a pig and is in control of her appetites! - My grandmother would have said, Don't let your eyes be bigger than your stomach. Meaning, don't be so greedy that you take more than you can eat.
Where I come from it is absolutely insulting to leave something in the plate. We appreciate food very much as it is a poor country, and it is disrespectful to the person who cooked it (automatically they think you did not really like it) So yeah, just sharing how it is in my country, since all are so different! And also, I am glad I moved away and now can start on getting a different mindset, and I dont have to eat up hahahhahah
@zelen plav : Yeah but most decide themselves if they eat nutrient lacking fast food and cake or healthy meals. @pamb : Yes the fruits and vegetables had more nutrients back in the day but they a) didn‘t taste as good probably and b) the people back then didn‘t have unlimited access to them as we are. If we fill our caloric needs with fruits, vegetables, beans, legumes, nuts and seed we still get enough nutrients from them. What I want to say, you are both right but blaming other people or circumstances doesn’t really help, where making changes yourself surely does. :)
Went from size 4 to size 6 during this quarantine. Result of stress, anxiety and nervousness. 4 days ago i went back to drinking my 4 cups of green tea a day, and I STOPPED MUNCHING ON EVERYTHING I SEE ( like a goat) PAST 6PM
I've been doing Intuitive eating for a while now, I've started to believe that there is such a thing as intuitive exercise as well - only doing the activities your body wants to do at the time that feels right to do it. Again the emotions can interfere with this and make you not want to work, but similarly it's about recognising genuine body impulses versus emotional interference. It's been working great for me so far ☺️
I can see your happiness in this video! I don't think I have seen you this happy in ANY of your videos! I'm a health coach and want to say CONGRATULATIONS on your new-found happiness---intuitive eating and learning that exercise does not have to feel like a chore! I'm so happy for you :)
This is such a great way to eat. The only thing I don’t agree with is eating only for nutrients. I agree with the French attitude towards food. It is a pleasure and meant to be enjoyed. Yes, we need to nourish our bodies, but also enjoy the tastes and textures of what we eat. Well done, Anna.
Anna, this video changed my relationship with food! Honestly thank you! I have been doing intermittent fasting for a few months now with some success but then 3 weeks ago started following intuitive eating, and honestly it's changed the way I view food. My cravings have dropped and I no longer feel like snacking because I finally learnt what being 'full' means! I'm losing weight without being hungry or food obsessed and my migraines have improved! The book truly is a game changer for people who sadly never properly learnt to really listen to their body, as I was one of them. Thank you!
This is why I love you, Anna. You are honest and you have a good heart. That is why you are outstanding. There are a lot of beautiful and classy ladies out there, but not a lot are free- thinkers and authentic as you are. Thank you for your sincerity and for showing a different point of view on this subject. By the way, you are looking absolutely beautiful. 🌸
Skinny people are skinny because they are not fixated on food. This is something I'm struggling with, though I'm not an overweight person and I've never been really fat (overweight-yes, but for short periods)
skinny people are not always healthy. many are 'skinny fat' or have other issues. We shouldn't conflate size with health, or healthy eating- it doesn't always follow
Great video Anna! For all the ladies out there trying to lose weight, remember that none of this will come easy at first because most of us are so much into carbs and sugars that you we cant just start like that. Thats why the fasting helps, because it helps your body restart, but most of all reduce the freaking sugars/carbs to the minimum. It will take few weeks before you are back in control of food and not food in control of you.
We are in Ramadan (for muslims) and we should fast for about 15 hours a day and even though I keep eating a lot I've lost 3kg and I'm so happy about it
I am doing the Ramadan fasting too, but the Iftar time is too late around 8:00 pm. That means we all have big dinner around 8 pm 😝 I am not loosing weight but not gaining. Could you share your experience?
I just started watching your channel yesterday , and I’m obsessed ! I love the way you talk , dress , do your hair and makeup . You’re the perfect example for an elegant lady.
Good to have you back. I came across intuitive eating last year, and, that's really helped me too. I completely AGREE with your lifestyle. Diet made me GAIN a tonne of weight in the past, so I don't even look at them. Life is all about moderation
Anna, “phase eating” as you call it is natural. Your body is craving a nutrient and your brain is signalling “this will satisfy it!” Unfortunately, while these foods are rich in this nutrient, it’s not concentrated. Your body also has limitations in how well it can absorb it (and different people will absorb better than others). This means, you’ll have to go through a couple sittings before you finally satisfy your body for that nutrient.
Hello Élégant Anna - When I am eating with m'y husband I tend to eat more & make It an occasion. However, When I am alone, work related, I eat only just what I need with no frills. How do you manage dining with your husband every night and avoid even one small glass of wine & do you do thé cooking ? I would bé concernéd having food even from top restaurants as they use a lot of salt & sugar. You must bé one of thé very few who have Lost weight during this lockdown. Congratulations to you. I’ve been preaching intuitive eating to my clients for years. It’s is truly the most natural way to eat. We’ve just been so programmed to believe otherwise, so we have to relearn this skill that we were born with. A baby knows to stop eating when it’s full. Unfortunately modern society numbs us to those internal cues, and it’s up to us to take our power back and reconnect with our bodies. It’s the only way to have long term results and you can heal not only your body but also your mind and spirit. It just shows how interconnected everything is. 💕
It's not just "modern society". I developed a lot of bad eating habits growing up because my mother and I have different tastes in food (probably due to different dietary needs due to different body types), and I learned to not taste my food and ignore how it disagreed with me. If my mother and I ate intuitively, we would eat radically different diets.
Sarah Robertson yes! unfortunately parents are often the cause of our bad relationships with food. The whole “finish your plate” mentality has often caused kids to lose touch with their internal cues at a very young age. We’ve been conditioned to eat these oversized portions and eating “foods” like McDonald’s and high fructose corn syrup which stops our brains from telling us we’re full. So yes so many factors play a part in us losing touch with our bodies, and it usually starts at a very young age. So it takes some time to reconnect with yourself but it can totally be done 😁
I love how she says that she isn't restricting herself with foods anymore-especially fruits and whatnot. I recently watched this video about an eating disorder called orthorexia and it really opened my eyes to how important it is to not label foods as "bad" and "good." If my body wants a piece of chocolate, I will go ahead and eat it and not obsess over how I had sugar etc...I think eating a balanced diet and, like Anna says, listening to your body is what matters most.
I discovered your channel during the beginning of Quarantine, and it has honestly changed my life. During the past 2 months I’ve been under Quarantine (still really bad in the country I live in), I’ve felt myself improve immensely on all levels. From my appearance to my body, my self-control and confidence in myself...honestly you’ve been such an important influencer for me during this all, and I don’t think I would be here if not for you!!! Thank you for making me realize that happiness comes from me, I’m in change of myself & my future, and that as an elegant lady, I can make myself better for myself. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love you Anna!!
I have been a lot of sweets during quarantine; mostly ice cream. I needed this video now I know it was due to emotional eating. Anna, you are an angel.
With food it’s all about your internal dialogue with yourself. When fasting, do you tell yourself “oh, I can’t eat. No, food is bad right now. I’m restricting myself. I can’t or else I let myself down.” OR, you can tell yourself, “fasting is a natural process. I am loving my body by giving my stomach a break from stress of digesting. I love what my body does for me.” Etc. The more you tell yourself, “restrict, restrict, restrict” the more your brain wants it. Change your internal dialogue. All of Anna’s tips are so important and need to be taken so seriously. Intuitive eating is exactly what it is-natural and right for human bodies. Lastly, this reminds me of Marisa Peer’s seminars and philosophies. Poor eating habits stem from not feeling enough, it’s a complex cause with a very simple solution. Forget about “dieting” and lose weight for reasons that actually matter to you(for example, people who are successful at losing weight and keeping it off don’t “restrict”. they simply connect to their reason for wanting to have healthier eating habits, and that motivates them). Hoping this video gets into our brains so we can all!❤️
The same happened to me, I lost weight in the last months just for listening to my body 😍 so proud of me!! We are very similar in this topic Woww!!👏👏👏👏💪🙏
Finally someone else is saying this! I'm eating according to what my body needs. I never had a diet in my life and I probably never will. And yes is simple like that. Feed your body what it craves! :)
Excellent video Anna! Being a nutrition/exercise counselor, you have hit every mindful topic on point! Thank you for bringing this important matter to light especially during quarantine. Being mindful and eating clean is the best lifestyle achieved by the present moment. Thank you!
I'm an emotional eater. When I overthink and feel hungry I feel like a drug addict jonesing for a fix. I bought the book you recommended. It will most definitely help. Thank you!
Tips from a naturally skinny person: -Eat slowly, taste the food and enjoy the meal. I think for some, eating with other "slow-eaters" can help, because you will see how they normally enjoy their food. -We all stress-eat, but you can definitely have next to you nuts, fruits, even vegetables. While I study for my exams I usually have small carrots next to me or apples which I cut in smaller slices (this can help "fast-eaters" to eat slower, for me it's also because I had braces). If you still have cravings, you can definitely eat what you crave but only in the kitchen and until your crave was satisfied. Then you can get back to what you were doing. -Eat all the meals during the day, but don't feel forced to finish the plate if you feel full. Being aware of this things can help you understand the quantity of food you actually need. -Obviously drinking the proper amount of water and even walking or doing some easy exercizes will give you more energy and help you feel healthier, but your eating habits and the food you consume are the most important for a healthy diet. -I hope this helps you and also please understand that weight is usually not relevant because people can have light or heavy bones, but overall unhealthy fats. Be happy with your own body and keep it clean from inside out!
Student on a Budget “you can definitely eat what you crave but only in the kitchens and until your crave is satisfied. Then you go back to what you were doing” . THIS IS GENIUS . I would’ve never thought about that one . Thank you so much for sharing your tips💗
Oh thank you someone said it out loud. 🙏🏻We don’t need more and more diets, first we have to learn how to handle our emotions without evolving food.🤷🏼♀️
I know in the past you’ve mentioned you’re not a “jewelry lady”, but I would love your insight on jewelry options! I am looking to expand my jewelry, and would love to see some of your favorite pieces, or things you wouldn’t buy again.
Exactly the video I've needed! I lost muscle and gained a little bit of softness in quarantine due to stress eating and I'm ready to look my best again. Also you look so fresh and your new makeup technique suits you really well.
4:18, oh this right here. This is so important. Everyone is so obsessed with labels, and they just HAVE to belong somewhere to tick a box. I love your approach. So refreshing.
Fasting or intermittent fasting as a way of life is not restrictive eating. I normally don’t eat breakfast so I usually just eat 2 meals a day which works for me. I’m petite so eating a lot of meals upsets my body.
What about having a protein shake ? I truly believe bin hearing your body. My trainers were forcing me to eat in the morning. I just felt yucky afterwards. So I usually eat by noon a shake and then shortly lunch,, then a few hours later dinner. Then I’m pretty much ok 👍
Honestly I’m the same, but instead of skipping breakfast, I have a light, healthy snack to give myself a bit of energy in the morning but not enough to make me sluggish or sick.
Wonderful Video Ms Anna! As a holistic nutritionist I have to say... when you aren't afraid of food it does something to the body's chemistry I find- it almost enhances the way the body processes the food when you enjoy it. Something decadent that you enjoy while eating it is far better than eating it with fear and having the idea of "burning it off" later. My whole philosophy is eat whole fresh foods 80% of the time and indulge yourself 20%. Kisses!
I just graduated with my degree in Nutrition. I honestly love the approach of mindful eating and using your intuition! I used to eat because it was “lunch” time or “dinner” time by the clock. But I realized I wasn’t even hungry! I learned to listen to my body and ate when I felt hungry or had an appetite. Appetite is the first sign of hunger. But I love Anna’s advice and it’s solid advice! And I understand the egg phase. Eggs have every vitamin except vitamin C. Raspberries are a good source of vitamin C! So she got all of her essential vitamins through her food. I love how she supports a healthy lifestyle as opposed to diet. That’s what we are taught on nutrition school! It’s better in the long run.
I was always very skinny growing up. When I got into my mid 20’s, my weight started getting shifty. It wasn’t until I started intermittent fasting and keto was when I actually started losing weight. I reversed my PCOS! I learned I was very sensitive to carbs. I cut rice and bread completely. I noticed when I went back to carbs - bagels, garlic bread, pasta, my health/hormones went chaotic again. I was fatigued. With quarantine, I gained so much weight again. Yes, I can be honest with myself haha now close to my mid 30’s, I need to get healthy again so I can be much more fertile for babies. Thank you, Anna for inspiring me to get back on track. You really are glowing again and I think it’s because your body/mind/spirit know that you’re “you” again and it’s comfortable. 🥰💕💕💕
I really appreciated the disclaimer you gave at the beginning of the video. It's a level of responsibility that most "common influencers" neglect, reminding people that every person's journey, especially with health and diet, is unique.
I have to stop my eating around 9pm at night and make outreach calls to people who understand food issues. I have lost 12 pounds and just need to loss 8 more pounds. We don't have to be ashame. Great post!
As a Therapist my theory is we eat according to the relationship we need. If you overeat you perhaps are not discriminate enough in your friendships etc. If you under eat or are super picky, you haven't managed yet to find the right balance of people you want to meet.
I found your channel while in quarantine, and I’ve been binge watching your videos! I love how elegant you are and all of your wonderful tips on how to become a more elegant woman!
Thank you for making this video, it is exactly what I need right now. I've been struggling with a few kilos I've gained during the quarantine. I believe following your advice can help any woman not just to slim down a bit, but also to live a healthier and happier life.
If you’re a person who really wanna lose weight you have to diet and exercise. Dieting is more important though because if you should eat the same stuff and exercise basically you’re just maintaining that weight because the more you exercise the more weighty food you gonna eat. Whereas if you diet and no exercise you going to lose weight (slowly) eventually. Less calories... hence weight loss. If you should do both you will have a faster weight loss. When you’ve reached your ideal weight loss you can follow what she’s saying, to maintain it or lose a little. Coming from a person who gains weight easily but hard to lose.
South African Caramel please can you explain how you lost 5 kilo/month ?is diet or exercise, what did you do last two months or so with quarantine Thank you 🌷
When you follow intuitive eating, your body goes to it's weight set point, not your desired ideal weight. Some people gain, some people loose. You will find you feel your sharpest, healthiest, and fastest when you intuitively eat.
You may be gaining weight that's hard to lose _because_ of the dieting in the past. Restrictions cause your body to hold on to calories _because_ it prepares for the next restriction phase.
I completely agree! I love intuitive eating, it has taken me a while to master. I still slip up sometimes but my body quickly reminds me of when I have messed up 😁 I also eat in phases, I feel it's the same as intuitive eating. I feel my body needs something from that food and then when it's had enough I move onto something else. I am a big fan of juicing and fasting. My body loves celery juice on its own and also loves citrus juice. Grapefruit is my favourite ❤️ thanks for the great videos ❤️
I hide during holiday in Cyprus in 2017 but ladies I flaunted during holiday in Mauritius in 2019. Only from skipping breakfast, reduced coffee intake and doubled green tea. And of course listening Anna's advice on clothing choices. I have never felt better 💜💜💜
@Debbie I'm right behind you, 50 is coming up. Was it Lauren Hutton who said that she now has the choice between her face and her behind? ;-) I have an exercise video made by a lady a few years older. She is tall and has a large frame (I don't have petite bones either), and has what I call a "womanly" figure. She is toned, she is certainly not overweight at all - but she isn't rail thin, she has curves in all the right places and looks very attractive. A queen now, no longer a princess. My goal! ;-)
I am a true believer in intermittent fasting. I will break my fast at 1pm until 7pm. I eat zero sugar or caffeine. I am also an emotional eater but since starting strict keto, I have become very mindful not just with food but my environment. This was a great informational video and I knew it would be worth the wait. Thank you
I love Intermittent fasting, it's almost one year since i practice it and the results are amazing. I have always been slim but i'm much toner, I've also implemented long walks and running as well. I feel so much energized
I am into IF for two months and you know what? I learnt that actually I need to eat much less than I thought. We often overeat out of habit. You don't need to consume lots of calories if you are not leaving the apartment that much
I used to be an emotional eater too and binging a lot but I'm not longer like that, avoiding very processed foods and moderation but not heavy restrictions is the best
Ok I need to share my tip : I do cold shower everyday. It’s amazing because of course it burns calories to get warm. But also it increase the metabolism and help blood circulation. Since I do it I lost 1kg even I eat quite a lot (I am 22 and I don’t get on weight a lot). You don’t need to start with the cold temperature but decrease it progressively and start with your legs. Also it gives so much energy, you secrete dopamine. Believe me you are going to be addict to this feeling.
I used to be an emotional eater as well, since I was a child, either when happy or during sad and stressful moments... For instance, just because I really enjoy a night out starting with having dinner in a nice restaurant, I thought it was right to eat everything I could (bread, wine, dessert, many different dishes), ending up feeling extremely full and not actually able to enjoy the rest of the night and the company of people :( Now I really enjoy what I eat and I never leave a restaurant feeling bad, intuitive eating is simply life changing, thank you so much for this video Anna, a big hug from Italy 🤗💖
Someone that I love struggled with anorexia, bulimia and now body dysmorphia from the age of 7. If you have available resources I'd really recommend getting some professional help. Therapy is absolutely life-changing. You'll be able to get into the root cause of the issue. Very often what happens is that if you don't solve the root cause you may stop eating emotionally, but then this gets replaced by other unhealthy coping strategies. You might develop an alcohol problem, OCD. You may try to numb your feelings by working or shopping too much. Being slim is so glorified in our society, but sometimes over-exercising, getting obsessive about what you eat can be as harmful as being overweight. Ladies, look after yourself x
Listening to your body is the number one thing in any health and fitness journey. Thank you so much for advocating for this! Hard core dieting can become very dangerous and is the number one way people can’t keep the weight off. Great video!
You look wonderful, Anna! You look a few years younger and this make up and hair look fits so good! Intuitive eating is so important, it helped me to lose 3 kilos the last month too! So important to listen to your own body
Overeating makes me feel sluggish. Eating the right amount makes me feel sharp and energized, which is very rewarding.
Go for a walk at least 30 mins
So true. I was lucky in that I grew up in a household that valued to not over eat and to go for healthy options.
I know this is off topic but I love your profile photo...
@@patric884 It is a painting from Freer Gallery of Art (one of the Smithsonian museums in DC). The facial expression of the dog is so hilarious.
Thank you...so true 💛

True. Eating right Helped me absorb skin care better so I see results fester
That's absolutely true. I see ladies around treating their skin to such an extent that it feels like molesting it. But rarely do they remember that it is really all about what you eat. Healthy diet goes a long way.

You go Girl👏❤️
How's it going. Where are you at now
My mother is a registered nutritionist with 35+ years of experience and she also believes it is the way to go.
Please describe more of this time of eating for us ☺️ can you provide an example?
Cindy Desjardins thanks so much for taking your time to share this with Anna's community!

Ugh, the night time eating is hard for me. But I did manage to lose 22 lbs since June.
I look up to you Ana and I’ve been losing weight since the 3rd of April.
I was originally 171 pounds now I’m 149/147 I believe.
I’m still losing weight, my goal is 120.
I struggled with emotional eating too and also childhood trauma which has made me over weight.
How did you lose weight so fast? Please share some tips
Can you please share your tips? We have the exact same starting weight AND goal weight.

The sad thing is that “ intuitive eating “ is truly just eating. In today’s society so many people have a distorted way of eating that they have lost touch of their bodies natural hunger cues . Please don’t restrict my lovely ladies ❤️
Chantal Ramirez well said!
The truth. It took an eating disorder for me to learn how to eat "normally". So many women don't, and it's so sad.
I agree. Cravings get mistaken for hunger.
I agree. Most people eat intuitively by nature and tend to be aware of when they’re satisfied. Some people struggle with that as they may have a very big or small appetite for their size but the majority of us maintain weight just by listening to when we are actually hungry vs just bored

After years of over eating and dieting back and forth, I started listening to my body. Eatin once a day when Im actually hungry and drinking enough water and green tea made me lose around 8 kg in two months.
It comes from a feeling of lack. My eating is not going to save the starving children in Africa, no matter how much I eat...Give it a rest.
At home you could just have small portions
Where I come from it is absolutely insulting to leave something in the plate. We appreciate food very much as it is a poor country, and it is disrespectful to the person who cooked it (automatically they think you did not really like it)
So yeah, just sharing how it is in my country, since all are so different!
And also, I am glad I moved away and now can start on getting a different mindset, and I dont have to eat up hahahhahah
We over eat because our modern food lacks basic minerals and nutrients.
I've heard that about modern produce!
Yes

This is such a great way to eat. The only thing I don’t agree with is eating only for nutrients. I agree with the French attitude towards food. It is a pleasure and meant to be enjoyed. Yes, we need to nourish our bodies, but also enjoy the tastes and textures of what we eat. Well done, Anna.

True!

I love how balanced your view is for what you are doing. It’s inspiring.
I agree so much! By the way you look great and you’re very beautiful!
Diana S thank you! So are you!! 💜💜💜
FFF Fitness aww no worries and thank you!❤️
Sarah Robertson yes! unfortunately parents are often the cause of our bad relationships with food.
Had a rhinoplasty last Friday. I'm currently binge watching your videos to pass the tough time of recovery, Thankyou!

I discovered your channel during the beginning of Quarantine, and it has honestly changed my life. During the past 2 months I’ve been under Quarantine (still really bad in the country I live in), I’ve felt myself improve immensely on all levels. Thank you for making me realize that happiness comes from me, I’m in change of myself & my future, and that as an elegant lady, I can make myself better for myself. ❤️❤️❤️❤️ Love you Anna!!
Finally an influencer that talks about intuitive eating ! Thank you so much.
I have been a lot of sweets during quarantine; mostly ice cream. I needed this video now I know it was due to emotional eating. Anna, you are an angel.
Ice cream is the first food to choose if you want to gain weight, steer clear of it if you are on weight loss diet
@@sisterssquad909 I will
What about sugar free ice cream? They have some better options now at the bigger stores

Excellent video Anna! Being a nutrition/exercise counselor, you have hit every mindful topic on point! Thank you for bringing this important matter to light especially during quarantine. Being mindful and eating clean is the best lifestyle achieved by the present moment. Thank you!
I'm an emotional eater. When I overthink and feel hungry I feel like a drug addict jonesing for a fix.
I bought the book you recommended. It will most definitely help. Thank you!
Where did you find the book? It seems it will only be released on the 23 of june 2020.
@@mgvg5 I bought the book on Amazon for my kindle for $7.99.
Tips from a naturally skinny person:
-Eat slowly, taste the food and enjoy the meal.
@@emmagilbert2843 glad this helps💕 I didn't even realize that I got some likes😂
👌🏻
Awesome tips, ty for sharing
Then I’m pretty much ok 👍
yes, some of us just don't feel like eating in some hours
Honestly I’m the same, but instead of skipping breakfast, I have a light, healthy snack to give myself a bit of energy in the morning but not enough to make me sluggish or sick.
I did that for a while, but skipping breakfast made me super bloated. It was really bad
I like her honesty. 🌷
Just grabbed my Coffee....❤💕👡👠 Hit like if u watching!
Welcome back Ana. Good to see u again, missed you!💕
i stopped coffee completely, i do tea instead
I am exactly like that! When I eat carbs I get tired and sluggish
I really appreciated the disclaimer you gave at the beginning of the video. It's a level of responsibility that most "common influencers" neglect, reminding people that every person's journey, especially with health and diet, is unique.
Thank you for not being a crazy person and sharing a good example with us! ❤
I have to stop my eating around 9pm at night and make outreach calls to people who understand food issues.
I have lost 12 pounds and just need to loss 8 more pounds. We don't have to be ashame. Great post!
Who do you call? I also want to not eat late at night.
As a Therapist my theory is we eat according to the relationship we need. If you overeat you perhaps are not discriminate enough in your friendships etc. If you under eat or are super picky, you haven't managed yet to find the right balance of people you want to meet.
Interesting
So true😂
You look definitely amazing! This makeup and hair makes you pop i love itt
I deeply adore when you say "my deeeear elegant ladys"
Some times I hear this in my head without seeing your yt 😄😄
Did both and lost 5kg in a month
South African Caramel please can you explain how you lost 5 kilo/month ?is diet or exercise, what did you do last two months or so with quarantine Thank you 🌷
When you follow intuitive eating, your body goes to it's weight set point, not your desired ideal weight. Some people gain, some people loose. You will find you feel your sharpest, healthiest, and fastest when you intuitively eat.
You may be gaining weight that's hard to lose _because_ of the dieting in the past. Restrictions cause your body to hold on to calories _because_ it prepares for the next restriction phase.
I don’t need to lose weight, but love to listen to Ana’s advice & experiences !
I have never clicked on a video faster. I am so happy that you are back and I am so excited for this video. Thank you for sharing this, Anna ❤️
💕
I completely agree! I love intuitive eating, it has taken me a while to master. I still slip up sometimes but my body quickly reminds me of when I have messed up 😁 I also eat in phases, I feel it's the same as intuitive eating. I feel my body needs something from that food and then when it's had enough I move onto something else. I am a big fan of juicing and fasting. My body loves celery juice on its own and also loves citrus juice. Grapefruit is my favourite ❤️ thanks for the great videos ❤️
its so unusual to see your hair this way! looks good! thanks for the info!
This makes so much sense! Intuitive eating sounds really healthy and I'll definitely look into that book
So funny “we don’t want to be hiding in the bushes” !🐷 🐖 😎🤫🌳🌳
I hide during holiday in Cyprus in 2017 but ladies I flaunted during holiday in Mauritius in 2019. Only from skipping breakfast, reduced coffee intake and doubled green tea. And of course listening Anna's advice on clothing choices. I have never felt better 💜💜💜
🤣🤣🤣🤣 I may have to do this after the lockdown
I laughed out loud too when she said that 😂
I know I laughed out so loud when she said that !🤣🤦♀️
@Debbie I'm right behind you, 50 is coming up.
You don't need to consume lots of calories if you are not leaving the apartment that much
One of the best videos that I’ve watched for you.
Thank you for the positivity and for sharing your experience in a very clear way.
I used to be an emotional eater too and binging a lot but I'm not longer like that, avoiding very processed foods and moderation but not heavy restrictions is the best
You inspire me to be better. To live better. To act better. Dear Anna, sending you lots of good vibes and prayers. 🌻🧡
I love ending my showers and hair washes with cold water, great for both skin and hair!
I end my shower with one minute cold water. I unfortunately did not see any weight loss from that.
Like a home-made spa lol 💕
Diananas I can not imagine doing that 😢
Jeniffer Zapata just start with your legs then. If you have heavy legs (especially when It’s hot) you will feel amazing :)
Great video!
anna bey drops a video, instant click! 💕💕
You look wonderful, Anna! You look a few years younger and this make up and hair look fits so good! Intuitive eating is so important, it helped me to lose 3 kilos the last month too! So important to listen to your own body
I'm so jealous of how she always looks so well put together and elegant. Glad you're back Ana :)
She looks amazing
Finally, who‘s happy that Anna is back after a month to drop gems?
Thank you, keep going!
You look absolutely GORGEOUS today! The make-up and hair suits you perfectly.
Exactly what I was thinking...she LOOKS phenomenal... BETTER, sharper, more peaceful, more focused... Like she's living her best life....
