I had never seen One Piece until this live action version, and it got me hooked. I started binging and just finished the Marineford Arc. Greatest show I've ever watched!

In the manga Usop pretends to be dead and doesn't plan to reveal that he is alive. But he decides that he will fight the fishmen in the end to help his team.. it's a big character development moment..
They minimized Usopp's time in the live action... hopefully they will work him better later on...

The thing is… what make a nakama stays is not bacause the episodes are good( although there are alot of good episodes to rewatch), its the wave of the story of one piece. Every episode make sense and have deeper meaning or impact if you are riding the waves from the start. And the forshadowings of the old episodes are crazy so there are no much of a waste episode to be skip.
I'm glad that you appreciated this show. As for the anime, nobody is forcing you to watch 1000+ episodes. If you don't like it after the first 40 episodes, then stop; it's okay! But if you manage to like it, 1000+ episodes won't be enough.

So, the Garp perspective..what I see is...he was surely testing Luffy's resolve, by even sending Mihawk after him, which failed to scare him, then even giving him some fists of love...
He sighed with relief after seeing the Bounty poster..a determined child is what a parent wants more than anything.
Sean, dont ever espect even the slight romance from Luffy, he's like a kid 😄

This season's payoff moments were so good...we all got joyous with Luffy's joy, celebrated his graduation just like Shanks did..The Jolly Roger as well..
and the Barrel scene..That is a Happy accident accepted by the showrunners, the child versions was placed by editors, that was not planned at all..if it was planned, then Child Nami would have said her dream as well.
It actually turned out to be better than the original...

If you guys want to watch the anime, I recommend checking out the One pace project. They basically edit the anime chapters to remove the filler and recap timing and put the episodes together being faithfull to the manga! Its waaay bettr to watch it that way. When you get to the point when half of the anime episode is filler its just plain painfull.
Remember Luffy is 17.....and Gold Roger died 22 years before this story began.......
Look, right now, we don't know who Luffy's father is.
But we also don't know who Sanji's father is (biologically speaking), we don't know who Nami's father is, we don't know who Zoro's father is, we don't know who Koby's father is. Who don't know who their mothers are either (biologically speaking in Nami's case). And the one piece world is huge, we don't know who's connected to whom.

Luffy is 100% canonically ace, so don't expect any romance on his part.

Naruto was 12 when his story began...Luffy is 17 when his begins.
Oh man , there are so many episodes i would like you guys to drop. My personal preference would be ig episode 1,2,8,9,19... sorry guys i forgot the episodes to recommned after 19 but ya all better upload ,34,35,36,37,38 and then 43,44 and 45. Thats what i could note down from the top of my head.
We just watched episode 8 and we should have at least that much posted on the Patreon tonight! We’ll definitely keep all of these episodes in mind for future UA-cam videos.

The live action Death Note movies (the Japanese ones, not the bullshit American show) are actually really good. Fundementally changed how the endgame goes down, but controversial opinion i think it was better than what the anime did and was a more streamlined story for it.

@@TheFandomTroupe Yeah the pacing became a problem mostly after the anime completely caught up to the manga (from a production perspective) so thay HAD to make the episodes slower... in the beginning the filler was the normal kind... a couple of filler episodes here and there to slow down reaching the current chapter of the manga...
Congratulations guys, you completed the prologue of One Piece! Actually, 95% of it but the other 5% should be covered in the first episode of Season 2 as the character in the final scene is introduced there. Just know that it goes uphill from here, especially when Season 2 will be covering one of the best sagas in the series: the Alabasta saga (also known as the Baroque Works saga).
From here, more islands, more fantastic characters & sinister villains, & even more Straw Hats since we’ve only got the first half of the crew here!

I've been reading One Piece manga since 2005 and am totally up to date with it (that being chapter 1106). And the live action was _amazing_. From my long time fan perspective it's like a 8 or 9 out of 10 easily. The spirit is there, and the characters feel like themselves for the most part (Garp had a few interesting and IMO less workable choices). Changes were made in the name of adaptation and they're generally either good/interesting changes (for the sake of pacing etc) or understandable (like budget, newbies will know what I mean when you get to Baratie and Arlong Park in the anime, some of that stuff would have been hella more expensive than what they already did).

Hmm best episodes... I would say 1,2,4 for sure, 6 and 8 for Buggy, then 9 and 17 for the beginning and end of syrup village, 19 for zoro's backstory, 24 and 30 of the Baratie arc, and 35, 36, 37, 43, 44 of Arlong, and then 48, 49, 52, 53
What I can say is there is a non canonical one shot comic, which has its own anime, where Garp is a pirate. What that has to do with Garp’s actual past is something I will not disclose.
