Isn't the monster trio just a fan-name? I don't remember it ever being mentioned in the manga. Obviously all three are really strong and they are often grouped together and have the three main fights; but I don't think the Monster Trio is actually a title. The Power Duo works too.
Actually, if anything his accented English delivery makes all the names snappier. Compare (syllables separated by hyphens): Japanese: Go-mu-Go-mu-No-Ba-tto-ru-A-ku-su (11 syllables) English: Gum-Gum-Ba-ttle-Axe (5 syllables) The brevity of the English pronunciations play well to the snappy agility of Luffy's fighting style. Granted, what they lose in turn is the anticipation/wind-up that a longer attack name provides. In Japanese, the anticipation usually comes in the form of a brief hold after Gomu Gomu no~. In English, the anticipation is in Inaki holding the "Gum" syllables for longer.
If they ever do get that far, I really wonder how Luffy is going to pronounce rhino schneider. I mean, it’s probably sounds basically the same no matter what language, but maybe the accent will make a difference
He's so rude and blunt in the anime😂 I love his first interaction with Kolby in the 1st episode- him just insulting and laughing at poor Kolby won me over immediately

Thank you for watching this season through to the end, Angelina! I've enjoyed sharing the beginning of this saga with you. Having watched the anime for over 20 years now, I think that some of most touching/awesome scenes are those which are most faithful to the source material. Some examples are Shanks gifting his hat to Luffy, Zoro's battle with Mihawk, and the final scene where the Straw Hats share their dreams. There's so much to look forward to in the next season. You've seen one character teased in the stinger already, and another has been confirmed by the creators. Their presence hints at the possibility of many more, with awesome stories to come. And throughout Season 1, so many future characters and story elements have been teased that, even if I wanted to spoil them all, it might just take all day. As for Garp's "abuse" of Luffy: What you saw here and in other episodes is nothing compared to what he does to Luffy in the anime and manga. I think they had to tone it down a bit for TV. And remember: There are soooo many ways to become powerful in this world -- when you see someone really strong, it doesn't necessarily come from eating a Devil Fruit.
Hi Angelina, I love your reactions to this show! I've never heard of nor watched the manga cartoon show but I love this live action series! I've heard that the actors and actresses of this show are fans of the manga cartoon and trained to do the martial art fighting they do in this show. And I binge watched the entire first season and season 2 can't come soon enough! I think we all want and deserve to have someone like Monkey D Luffy in our lives and as a friend who would encourage us to follow our dreams.
"What am I going to do with myself, with no more One Piece..." is something all three parts of the fanbase can agree on, there are tens of thousands waiting each week on the Manga, the Anime and now on the Live Action? this is further proof that this series is peak fiction.
There is something that many people, after the entire season, have not fully understood about Monkey D. Garp... And that is that what he always wants is for each person to follow their path or the ideal of justice they want, with total freedom , wherever that path takes you, but you should always do so with the awareness that actions have consequences. He made it clear to Coby and he makes it clear to Luffy with that 'you're on your own now, kid'... And what finally convinced him was that laugh, which reminded him of his great friend and rival, who had the same unruly spirit that Luffy has, and who is none other than the King of the Pirates, Gol D Roger.
Crazy that theres 3 only in the community, manga only, anime only n now live action only geez one piece is simply an amazing story with so much noving parts its incredible . Bless up angelina awesome reaction
Imagine if Oda watch your reaction and heard you smash Sanji and Zoro name together so he creates a new character in One Piece with the name Sanjo, a green-hair chef that fights with 3 spatulas.
4:05 something that the Live Action is having a hard time conveying is that Luffy,Zoro and Sanji have super strength, while Usopp and Nami are normal humans. Garp also is super strong, most people in the Grand Line are like this, and Garp is the hero of the marines If you want to follow more story,I recommend the manga because the anime is not the best adaptation to be honest. The manga is incredible!
Sanji use his legs to fight cuz he believe that " A chef must fight without using his sacred hands and knife" that's his policy for fighting. And also zeff is his mentor, In his prime, Zeff was renowned as a master of extremely powerful kicks. Because of the immense power of his lethal kicks, his shoes were often coated in the blood of his enemies. They use their hands for cooking only.
It'll be so cool when you get to see the bond and respect Zoro and Sanji have for eachother in later seasons. They never stop fighting eachother, but there's some really cool situations that show their respect for eachother
Am I the only one who noticed that when Zeff placed the wanted poster in his board, it was placed under "Employee of the Month" sign? So, does that mean Luffy remains as Employee of the Month until his bounty increases??
"Why is grandpa so strong"? One thing you have to know is that old age doesnt mean weakness in One Piece. Some old dudes are way more powerful than in their youth, they dont lose power (they are at their peak) even when getting old 😂😂 cheers from Austria :)
This is unfair Ange! 😭 I knew you were reacting to this straight after you finished the last episode, but you had to make us wait this long 😭😭 but anyway, great reaction and commentary as alwayss! 😍 keep it up!!

As a manga omegafan, this One Piece live action did an AMAZING job capturing the essence of the first saga of One Piece, but yeah.. like you might have understood.. this is just but the very beginning. There is so much more to discover. Its an odyssey after all. If I had one advice for you, read the manga from scratch until the barrel scene (you might get spoiled about one island of the second season but that might fires up the will to read the story. And spoiler, you can even do manga reactions, they work really well on this platerform) Welcome to the One Piece fanbase ! :D
@@c4n940 That happens after Lougetown in the manga. IMO she should stop after Arlong Park if she doesn't want to be spoiled for the live action; they *will* be covering Lougetown season 2. Small easter egg, when Mihawk meets Luffy for the first time in episode 5, the first thing Mihawk says to him is that he likes his hat. This must be because he dueled with Shanks back in the day (when he had both arms and owned the strawhat) and must've recognized that hat on Luffy.
How is grandpa so strong? Haircut in Episode 2 - "Vice-Admiral Garp, Hero of the Marines. The man who captured Gold D Roger." The live action is a fantastic adaptation. If you want more one piece, the Anime/Manga for just the material covered is given more time to explore the characters.
Yes, friendship and dreams are some of the themes of this show. But dont sleep on what arlong was talking about, he hints about other themes in this story yet to come.
A lot of people complain about the amount of episodes in the anime. I don't, that’s the best part to me. It's a marathon, not a sprint. In fact I don't think there are enough episodes, there's almost 1,100 episodes but I need more, I could go for 2,000. The live action can never match the level of of the anime version.
"Why is grandpa so strong?!" Yeah it seems Netflix missed a bit to introduce how One Piece characters can get silly strong with just training, no devils fruits.
If you remember from the first episode Garp took down Gold Roger. He is crazy strong, up there with Shanks and Mihawk. The straw hats have grown strong, but its a big ocean out there. : )
If it is at all possible. Please watch the anime. Even though the live action is great, it was super condensed leaves a lot of stuff out that the anime fleshes out even more. If you liked the live action, you will love the anime.
you should try and remember basically every characters name as they actually STILL get brought up in the series. One Piece has a HUGE world-building aspect and so its important to remember characters even if they seem insignificant.

I can totally tell this show fits your sense of humor and its awesome to see you loving every second of it. I dontttttt wanna wait for season 2!! haha
4:05 something that the Live Action is having a hard time conveying is that Luffy,Zoro and Sanji have super strength, while Usopp and Nami are normal humans.
Garp also is super strong, most people in the Grand Line are like this, and Garp is the hero of the marines
If you want to follow more story,I recommend the manga because the anime is not the best adaptation to be honest.
It was really nice of Garp to just use love taps against Luffy.
Aah.. The good ol' Fist of Love.
To be fair, this story came out in the 90s. It's literally a story from a different time. So of course it's gonna stand out from modern media.
I feel like is they skipped to Egghead this story would stand out just as much, if not more...
Eh we get you Angelina, this is an insanely good adaption, oh and that confrontation at the end there's SO many little easter eggs in it.
This Seventies Anime Fan … hasn’t stopped crying 😭 over The One Piece series’s success, and joy it is bringing to the World.
Straw Hats 👒 for all.
It'll be so cool when you get to see the bond and respect Zoro and Sanji have for eachother in later seasons. They never stop fighting eachother, but there's some really cool situations that show their respect for eachother
So glad you made it through the journey! Season 1 was fantastic!
Am I the only one who noticed that when Zeff placed the wanted poster in his board, it was placed under "Employee of the Month" sign? So, does that mean Luffy remains as Employee of the Month until his bounty increases??
This show is the best! Glad you reacted to this one.
"Why is grandpa so strong"? One thing you have to know is that old age doesnt mean weakness in One Piece. Some old dudes are way more powerful than in their youth, they dont lose power (they are at their peak) even when getting old 😂😂 cheers from Austria :)
Prime Garp was a different kind of beast though
This is unfair Ange! 😭 I knew you were reacting to this straight after you finished the last episode, but you had to make us wait this long 😭😭 but anyway, great reaction and commentary as alwayss! 😍 keep it up!!
4:02 Yes they have a pretty popular one lmao
Warming up to helmepo is something that Oda does a lot , i mean loving characters you hated before happens A LOT. (Although liking helmepo like that much is something from the Live action)
Can't wait for people to love Django and Hachi! =O
@@StanNotSoSaint
I still don't see any reason to love Jango.
So he helped out someone he'd been a dance partner with, that doesn't mean he's actually changed in temperament.
There's no evidence he's not as ruthless as ever, and I could see him participating in genocides with glee.
@@IamGrimalkin I don't care about dancing, I like him for Syrup village same as I liked Hachi for Arlong Park ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
@@StanNotSoSaint
Oh, I see what you mean.
They're both fun characters, but I thought the original post was about villains being rehabilitated.
Hatchi was rehabilitated, but Jango wasn't really.
@@IamGrimalkin well, he was portrayed as a guy loyal to his Marine officer, so I would assume that he will support anything Hina does and thus my assumption of his morality would be a decent one. Also in Syrup Village while he did in fact tried to kill Kaya and kids, he was pretty reluctant to do so, and acted out of fear of Kuro, so in my estimation with Hina instead of Kuro as his superior, he should be much closer to an upstanding person than he was before. Although you can disagree with my assessment =]
I love that even Helmeppo (Haircut) is like, "What?!" When Nezumi accuses Luffy of being the one responsible for the destruction of Coco Village.
Loved S1 of One Piece Live Action! This show has a lot of action, comedy, and heart! How many times did you say to yourself wow that felt genuine and really hit me in the feels? This is what good storytelling is about and how it should make you feel!
Loved the video! Also, Ive been trying to get into DnD and really enjoyed your halloween stream. Are you gonna do more?
Person doesn't know One PIece.
Person starts One Piece: What am I going to do without One Piece??
Welcome to the fandom... now start the anime or manga
GARP is a real G
he's WAY stronger than what you just saw
Lets go i knew you would like the last episode 🎉 please stay the way you are ange, you lighten my mood every time i watch one of your reactions 😁
You can now watch the Anime ver of the entire East Blue Saga up to Arlong park while waiting
Who knows… you might keep on watching it and don’t realized you have seen 300+ episodes
5:45 🖕🤡🖕 had to see it 3 times to make sure Buggy flipped us off. He was the MVP of season 1.
i hope that when the manga is finished it won't take long for the anime and live action to be finished too.
dreaming?
long life to all of you.
Hoping you get to see it in your lifetime is a more modest expectation lol
@@gustavogg8729 im more worried about the VAs/Oda himself
@@dongle404 ohh dang, true 😨
in the anime it's even more powerful cause the villagers and Nojiko knew all this time Nami was working to save them and pretend to be hostile toward her since the beginning
Garp is hinting at how strong he really is when he said "I could have been fleet admiral by now..." He's crazy strong, just refused promotions because he didn't want the hassle that comes with it.
I loved your reactions to the show! I can't wait for the next season
this series was such a fuckin breath of fresh air. it as perfect you can get with a anime live action. cant wait for s 2
Realy. I enjoy all your reactions of One Piece Live avtion. Waiting for the second season. Thank You for sharing
Shanks,Mihawk, and Monkey D. Garp. Are the monsters their power level are on different level. Do I add that Garp even acknowledged that he's not on his prime. 😂
2 basic rules:
1. If it is not clearly stated that someone has eaten a devil fruit, then they did not.
2. In the world of one piece there is pretty much no upper limit for how strong someone can become. It is just a matter of skill, training and time.
ONE MASTERPIECE LITERALLY
The fact that they teased my second favorite character in all of One Piece, makes me so incredibly hyped for season 2.
Smoker??
@@boonejbruce :D
tbf, I've only gotten to the part in the anime where they meet the spooky-gangly dude. But in that time they meet my 2 favorite characters.
@@DanRobotMan If you're talking about who I think you're talking about (I've been spoiled a little bit), I can't wait to get there. I just finished Enies Lobby, which introduced my second favorite character. :)
@@boonejbruce Smoker and the dude who starts with F are my two favorites. But the weird dude I just met starts with a B.
Oh, yah you're not much behind me. Only like 50 episodes at most.
I'm a long time fan of the manga and anime (9 years now and the dub is good too) and this live action series is more than I could have hoped for with an adaptation like this. There's a few characters I'm looking forward to in season 2 especially a certain desert princess and another who is an archaeologist.
Every new One Piece fans:
Before watching:
- No there are too many episodes!
After watching:
- Noo there are not enough episodes!
The pain you fell after avoiding watching One Piece cuz it was "too long" only to realize that it was not long enough.
Buckle up, Clements and Adelstein told Deadline that the live-action producers and showrunner Matt Owens already have plans for six seasons. "We have hopes for 12 seasons, there's so much material," This is recent as of one month ago.
And spoiler, you can even do manga reactions, they work really well on this platerform)
Welcome to the One Piece fanbase ! :D
Which barrel scene?
Luffy first enters a barrel in chapter 2?
@@IamGrimalkin Hehe, the one that ends East Blue
@@c4n940 That happens after Lougetown in the manga.
IMO she should stop after Arlong Park if she doesn't want to be spoiled for the live action; they *will* be covering Lougetown season 2.
After that she can potentially still finish Koby and Helmeppo's cover story, and do Jangos' and Hatchis' so long as she's careful not to peek at anything from the rest of the story.
@@IamGrimalkin This is just a little island, not much happens so it can help her decide if that's her thing or not.
@@c4n940
Not much happens?
Come on, you know some centrally important stuff happens in Louguetown.
If the idea is for her to see some stuff which doesn't appear in the live action, Gaimon & Don Krieg.already do that.
2:58 Somehow I get the feeling Garp can always spot a liar - not matter how good a liar they are
Long time fan and I loved the live-action. I just want people to have access to the story
The preroll ads are still playing but, I was so excited to watch this until it hit me that once its done there are no more episodes in season one to react to. 😢 having these to look forward to gas actually been really nice as right now the things I have coming up arent the things you anticipate with fond emotions. Oh well, at least I get this and after I can binge reewatch all the reactions!
Let's just say that garp is not just your typical rank and file marine once you know his story your gonna see how strong he is😅
Small easter egg, when Mihawk meets Luffy for the first time in episode 5, the first thing Mihawk says to him is that he likes his hat.
This must be because he dueled with Shanks back in the day (when he had both arms and owned the strawhat) and must've recognized that hat on Luffy.
I can’t believe you made it to the last episode of one piece. Congratulations I can’t wait to see what happens with Lucy and zero Normie
when i lived in FL i had a row of like 6 tangerine trees me and my friends would throw them at each other
How is grandpa so strong?
Haircut in Episode 2 - "Vice-Admiral Garp, Hero of the Marines. The man who captured Gold D Roger."
The live action is a fantastic adaptation. If you want more one piece, the Anime/Manga for just the material covered is given more time to explore the characters.
Funny how a goofy world and goofy characters can hit your emotions so hard.
Great reactions! Can't wait for season two! Now I'm reading the manga.
"Why is grandpa so strong?!"
Yeah it seems Netflix missed a bit to introduce how One Piece characters can get silly strong with just training, no devils fruits.
I swear this show had a visible effect on the sales numbers of tangerines all over the globe.
Garp is a vice admiral who refused to move up in rank to keep his freedom. Thats why he is so strong.
The question isn't How is Garp so strong? Garp being so strong is the answer to how Luffy is so strong. Garp trained him.
I don't know about other synchronisations, but if you watch it ingerman, they use the the original german actors from the anime.
If you remember from the first episode Garp took down Gold Roger. He is crazy strong, up there with Shanks and Mihawk.
The straw hats have grown strong, but its a big ocean out there. : )
I started watching the anime because of this.
If it is at all possible. Please watch the anime. Even though the live action is great, it was super condensed leaves a lot of stuff out that the anime fleshes out even more. If you liked the live action, you will love the anime.
"Bow down to Buggy"
Oh no she's already turning into a One Piece Fan. All hail The Glorious Captain Buggy
you should try and remember basically every characters name as they actually STILL get brought up in the series. One Piece has a HUGE world-building aspect and so its important to remember characters even if they seem insignificant.
It's time for Angelina to just watch the whole One Piece series. CONTENT FOR YEARS
Luffy at the Thanksgiving Day parade was everything
Garp had to be Stubborn to discourage luffy to become a pirate. You will understand years from now if the live action gets up to that point.
At the end of the show you can kinda hear the og anime’s intro I got so hyped
