I, and many people I'm sure, would really enjoy seeing a rundown on methylation from you, because it is such a complex issue yet a very essential one to understand.
Excellent thanks for sharing
I have MTHFR, should I continue to take my methylated B complex with folate?
Have been concerned about having too much iron, from all the tasty meats, etc. Dr Paul, would you have a video presentation on the effects of too much iron, or Iron overload, especially for those who have elevated iron levels.
Is using mct oil to supplement fats healthy? If so how much and how often? I use it throughout the day because I am going from vegetarian to eating meat . I am gradually adding meat at at this point so I think I need extra fats. Thank you.
Not a great deal of use unless you are trying to boost your ketone level. If you want to boost your fat intake, add more butter to your diet, it is healthy and cheap.
Paul do you happen to have a CBS variant? They keep telling me to lower my protein because i have the C699t CBS upregulation SNP but its so controversial i doubt it even makes a difference. Kidneys should be able to filter out excess amonia. I felt great on animal based but i did get heart palpitations after a while when i ate 15g liver daily. I get the same issues on methylated B12.
Where do you recommend doing a methylation test from? Company?
Considering a methylated multivitamin can be the same cost or almost the same cost as a non methylated one save yourself the trouble and just take one and skip this test like I did since there's no downside to doing it even if you don't have the mutation.
can you comment on the mediterranean diet and why they live so long?
As a Carnivore I admit why med diet is so good, they eat fresh real foods, they grow there own, they use less harmful fertiliser and have much better soil, there fruit and veg is as nature intended. I live in England so meat and water is the only safe option as all fruit and veg in our supermarkets is cloned crap with all the natural vitamins removed and replaced with addictive cheap harmful crap
Paul would you have Dr William Li on who advocates a vegetable based diet based on science?
Hi Paul, how long did it take for the electrolyte problems to go away after you switched to animal based?
Hi, this is paul, took about tree fiddy
In where and for how long do you store your liver? I think it spoils quite quickly.
Freezer
Is a 1.5 HS-CRP good?
Thoughts on L theanine reducing the acute toxic effects of alcohol?
Ginger, Apple Cider Vinegar, Grapefruit juice, & Turmeric. Once sober, you can take some Ginseng & some Celtic Sea Salt under the tongue with some water (Essential Minerals absorption).
As a fellow MTHFR/COMTer, do you recommend any specific methylated Bs, brands, or other supplements? Thanks! 👍🏼👍🏼
Thorne makes good b complexes
What creatine do you use?
Cooked liver is ok?
does MTHFR polymorphism give some sort of benefit? perhaps reduced aging speed?
Idk about longevity but it means a pathway to energy production is limited. Increase methylated foods like spinach, beets, artichoke, asparagus - I put a little stinging nettle leaf in my coffee. You can get a methylated folate supplement skip the inefficiency but personally wouldn’t supplement continuously
@@kurdtkobainrocksI am heterozygous for MTHFR and I do not tolerate oxalates or lectins well at all, so spinach and many other vegetables highly in oxalates/lectins are bad for me; achey joints and gut problems. I supplement with Thorne methylated B vitamins and eat lots of beef and liver.
Stay from vegetables
I have heard that in the past, populations had fewer occurring MTHFR variants because the babies and children did not survive pregnancy/birth/childhood. The technology we have now supports the survival of negative genes. A lack of methylation creates a situation where genes cannot be turned on/off as required and it increases homocysteine which in turn requires upregulation of glutathione. But if you are getting natural methylated sources of B vitamin cofactors and nutrient cofactors for creating glutathione then you would probably already be methylating properly in the first place, if that makes sense. Or to put it another way, if you are not getting the sufficient methylated B vitamins to methylate, then you are likely not getting the required cofactors for glutathione production either. So I don't really see a benefit for MTHFR variants that inhibit enzyme action. The methylation cycle does however have a secondary path that does not utilise folate and B12 as far as I am aware, it requires choline or betaine, so high sources of these nutrients will allow recycling of homocysteine back into methionine as the primary methyl donor.
Supplementing riboflavin (B2) is most important, it's a cofactor for the MTHFR enzyme, it activates and stabilises the enzyme. Getting this enzyme to work by overwhelming it with B2 gets to the root of the issue and is way more important than supplementing methyl donors...
This.
We all have different abiltys and talents everything thing you put in bodey will cause postive or negative reaction dount get free pass
neat
paul what the hell can we do about hay fever and chronic allergies
raw dairy, did the job for my winter allergies
I have heard that allergies are a result of a lack of glutathione, double check that? Make sure you are getting the correct cofactors for your body to make more of it.
Was the video supposed to suddenly end like this? 😅
it's just a clip from another video maybe that's why
It’s a clip
What about normal iron levels but low platelet
I have AFIB walk 5 miles everyday
Every other day resisted training
@@firstanama4573I feel your pain I hope we go through this I just feel tired and cold all the time and suffer agoraphobia
Have you checked your folate and b12 levels, are they optimal too?
Vitamin B12: Necessary for the production of red blood cells and platelets. Deficiency can lead to megaloblastic anemia and decreased platelet count.Folate (Vitamin B9): Important for DNA synthesis and cell division, including the production of platelets. Folate deficiency can result in megaloblastic anemia and low platelet counts.Iron: Essential for hemoglobin synthesis and oxygen transport. Low iron levels can lead to anemia, affecting platelet production.Vitamin K: Required for the activation of proteins involved in blood clotting, including those needed for platelet function. Deficiency can lead to impaired clotting and increased bleeding tendency.Copper: Plays a role in the synthesis of hemoglobin and collagen, which are essential for platelet function and wound healing.Zinc: Necessary for the maturation and function of platelets. Zinc deficiency can impair platelet formation and function.Vitamin C: Required for collagen synthesis, which is important for maintaining blood vessel integrity and preventing bleeding.Vitamin E: Acts as an antioxidant, protecting cell membranes, including those of platelets, from damage.Calcium: Essential for platelet adhesion and aggregation during blood clotting.Magnesium: Required for the activation of enzymes involved in blood clotting and platelet function.
Are you sure to check your intrinsic factor.
So basically what you’re doing is not enough
I usually have high calcium so I avoid cheese raw milk etc doesn’t do much.
Too much D3 or too little K2?
Have you tried increasing calcium? I have heard if you are low in calcium your body can pull it from your bones which would actually cause high blood levels
I’ve been carnivore for 6 years and I’m deficient in B12. I take weekly injections like a vegan. 😢
what about your stomach acid?
You may be copper deficient then
Do you take Metmorfin?
Try Liver specifically cuz red meat isn't as high in b12
Do you eat also raw red meat or you overcook your meat all the time?
What?
Fibromyalgia here. Methyl B causes huge pain and insomnia spikes. Be cautious.
I'd recommend amino acids!
Correct🎉
You mean EAAs or Whey protein powder?
Eat animal protein, get all your amino acids. Simple.
@@S.D.E06 branch chain amino acids
@@callumbush1Why Branch chained and not Essential amino? Could you please explain your view on this? Would appreciate
Paul I'm begging you to put up thumbnails with your mouth closed so you don't look crazy or like you're about ti sneeze
It just looks like he's in the middle of explaining something
Haha you are comming around did you read my comments? I take a lor of supplements that are natural and good quality and it improves my health. Look into herbs too my friend gensing and ashwagandha have helped me a lot with the carnivore diet. Adaptogens help when you are extremely active
Odds are slim that a YT comment was the impetus. But here I am commenting on it.
@@sgk9369 the other parts of my comment are not though. Those herbs are amazing
I’d honestly remove your information…. Risky
Be careful you don't get a DVT
That is what I have noticed too.... but he is really active.
