  • In today's video we are taking you step-by-step through how to adjust the return detent on your valve. This video is helpful for adjusting several RuggedMade valves, both the 33-135-VALV-01 with the 1/2" work ports as well as the 33-135-VALV-02 with the 3/4" work ports. It also applies to the Prince LS3000 valve.
First we talk a bit about why you may find yourself needing to adjust the return detent in the first place, and we also deconstruct the valve to get a better idea of how everything works.
Finally, we show how to adjust the valve in both directions, when it's too loose and needs to be tightened, and when it's too tight and needs to be loosened. Check it out!

Wow I watch a lot of videos trying to learn to fix things. I tell everyone I talk to to do the same thing. I tell people to watch at least 2 videos too make sure the first one wasn’t incorrect information. Man I wish you made a video of how to fix everything! Never saw a more educational helpful practical video. This guy could teach anything!!!

5/5 video with the best valves on the market. Prince is by far the best quality even with a high price point.

Great video. For a long time i thought the return was sticking due to wear.

Great Video with easy Explanation! I know I had this issue on the return stroke on my splitter when I first got it and snapped the bolt holding the push plate to the cylinder!

First off i have a valve like this. Not your brand but a cheapy vevor. My valve is leakingout of the weep hole. One of the orings on the plunger had a flat spot. i replaced it but its still leaking. What could cause this? It slowly leaks while using the valve but when you change directions it really blows it out. This was supposed to be a new valve. I watched the follow up video also great work my friend. You have made a great and explantive set of videos.

@@ScrappyDooToo The only thing I can figure is poor machine work. I have replaced all the orings in it that i could find that fit only to be rewarded with a slower leak. My solution for now was to install a hose on the weep back to tank. By the way they Vevor wont warrant the valve or send parts.

Various companies make the clip-on style of stroke restrictor. This one from Speeco is available at Tractor Supply

Auto return don’t go to neutral unless I bang on the handle .
    SpeeCo controller.
Took apart, cleaned spring and bearings, pulled main shaft out, did a visual.
Put a little grease on bearings and spring, put back together.
Now Controll handle will not go into auto reverse at all.
    Any suggestions?

OK! I had submitted a service issue on this very valve on my 737 a couple days ago. What I'm experiencing is hydra fluid dripping out of the seep hole, especially when the splitter is
running at idle speed. When at full tilt, no dripping. Any ideas? I will adjust the return detent, as sometimes it sticks on the return stroke. Good video and timely! -Dave

My log splitter locks in the forwards movement but it is manual in the return movement. I'm unsure what I'm missing out on, because I fully understand how this demonstration was explained, my only confusion is why is it inverted

@@RuggedMade sorry, I figured it out, when it was pulled apart there is a central ball bearing which is under spring load, when it fell out my friend must have put the sleeve with the bearing detents on backwards, leading the manifold to lock in the forwards position and manual in the reverse position

@@philliphall5198 Yep, RPM too low or wrong viscosity hydraulic fluid are the two main causes. #3 cause is worn hydraulic pump causing internal fluid leakage.
