Melissa, l am 69 years old. Retired nurse. I love your videos. No loud music, your voice is clear, your explanations, and your plants of course, love the names printed out on the screen, you dont jump from one plant to another too fast. LOVE your videos. Sounds like you are ditching lecca? I have most my plants in Pon or in the process of transfering to Pon. I make my own but i just recently bought some Pon on Etsy and threw in with mine. Keep up the good work and give your kitty cats a kiss on the nose. (hubby too)
Thank you for giving us long form content so often🥹 I know how much time it takes to set up, record, clean up, plan, edit, post, etc. So I appreciate the time you put into your work! I always look forward to your videos and chats and shared information!❤️❤️
You're the reason I got into Alocasia and gave me the confidence to try again. They're my favorite now- thank you!! Love you tour and have a nice day 😊
I watch many of your videos twice because I just enjoy your voice and enthusiasm for your beautiful plants! Your videos are relaxing I think largely because you are so clean and organized and all your plants look so healthy! You’re an inspiration for me to try and do better with my plants💚❤️💖
I think you are the Alocasia-Queen. I love all your plants and really enjoy to watch the process of growing them to maturity. I got a regal shields some weeks ago and gave it the best spot in the room. It thrives and pushes out new, giant leafes now. I´m so happy and excited for this plant! My love for alocasias definetely came from you. I transferred it to pon and got some corms of her. They also are sprouting and growing really well. They grow so fast!
I love Alocasia i have a few and will get more. My favorite so far was my Alocasia Frydek, Dragon Scale Variegated, Maharani, Melo and more. I love them all 🥰 yes they love Pon substrate. Thank you for sharing your beautiful Alocasia Collection they are beautiful💕
I love Alocasia’s so much!! There’s so many different varieties and they’re all gorgeous 😍 I want like ALL the variegated ones ha. Thanks for the video!! Excited to see the progress of the var regal shield corm. 🌿🌱💚
You need a Zebrina to finish the alphabet. ;) I got a huge Zebrina when I moved in my new home and I left it on the back patio for a few days- and it got caught in a hail storm and got huge holes in the leaves. It never really recovered. Two years later I’ve regrown it from corms. ❤
I love your Alocasias collection 😊 TFS with us. I think my favorite is the Jacklyn, Frydek, Black Velvet, and the Dragons (both of them). Alocasias are so difficult for me but I love them too!
Hi Melissa, i love love love your long video contents, i can watch them all day! Love all the plant care tips, and I'm learning a lot, being a new planty person. 😅
Thank you for sharing your whole collection and for being so honest with your experiences. Without your videos, would have given up on many of my Alocasias that are now thriving🥰 Lastly, super grateful for the gentle reminder of releasing the ones that no longer bring me joy. I love the center support item that you have holding up the stems! Gotta get me some of those👍
hi melissa. i think you’re already using it but silica works best for my variegated alocasia collection … keeps the albo leaves pristine for a longtime no browning! i let the silica sit 24 hrs before adding other nutrients 🌱💚
Self watering pots are the answer. It’s the only way I’ve been able to keep them happy. Most of mine are in PON but I do have a couple in soil in self watering.
I love all my Alocasia plants. It's so cool watching the new leaves pop up waiting to see what variegation I'll get. Recently found out about Odora Batik (Blizzard?) and looking to get one of those soon. They look awesome!
Oh god, I got the Melo thinking it would be leathery hard leaves but instead the leaves are hard but feel like hard plastic! I’ve never felt a leaf like that before. So cool. Definitely want to get the Maharani sometimes soon as well :)
I love your collection! Take all the time you need to show up all of your alocasias. My dragon scale likes a more acidic soil so I wouldn't recommend making it more alkaline, but it's up to you and you know more than I do. Just sharing my experience. Unfortunately, all alocasias are different so it can go either way.

The Polly was my first foray into alocasia. It died. So I didn’t have any for a while but someone gifted me a pink dragon. I kept it healthy for about. 9 months. It never got out of the two leaf club. It died or went into dormancy so I kept watering once in a while. I finally unpotted it and the riots were dead. I high’s a corn that I put in stratum but it rotted. So I’m off Alocasias for a while. Even though I find them beautiful, I’ll wait for a while to get one. That might be my foray into pon.
I’m in my Alocasia era right now so I’m excited anytime a new alocasia video comes out! I’m also on the hunt for a pink Amazonica or Polly! I got a “pink Polly” from TGE that ended up being the mint Polly instead 🤷🏻♀️

Hi Melissa, what a stunning alocasia collection you have! How do you manage to keep your alocasias so compact? Mine are super leggy. What grow light brand do you recommend?
Your Azlani is gorgeous! I wish mine lived it died after two weeks and I think that video of me unboxing it comes out tonight and I refuse to watch it. Hahahahaha. So happy to see another video. I don’t know how you do so many in one week, but I am glad you do!
So Jelly!!! You have an amazing collection. I definitely need more bedrooms! 😫 I never grew Alocasia until recently. I’ve learned so much about Alocasia and moss poles. The cupera isn’t a red secret that’s a plain old cupera. The red secret is all red ! It’s bright burgundy….no green and doesn’t have as many bumbs down it.

So, Melissa... Would you say that your secret to huge alocasia leaves is humidity and Pon?
My humidity isn't anything crazy so I think it's the warmth + light + nutrients they get in pon. Average humidity is around 50%
The cupera isn’t a red secret that’s a plain old cupera. The red secret is all red ! It’s bright burgundy….no green and doesn’t have as many bumbs down it.
I love your Alocasias. The alocasia bisma has a support for a number of leaves. Where did you get it. ❤
Thank you! They're called plant support stems. If you do a search on Etsy a lot come up!
Do you have the black leaf hooks linked?
I don't :( If you do an Etsy search for support stems a lot of them come up ☺️
Do u alway transition you alocasia to water then semi pon?
