I love your video, I watched your other videos. What type of soil do you grow your Alocasia in? I have a baby of Alocasia and lost stems and leaves but the body/? Is in water and growing roots
Took me a long time to get thru this video cuz Pause, Note, Play, Pause, Note, etc. You packed so much Alocasia info into your narrative, incl. factors like growth rate, pest susceptibility but also your particular plant's history and how you are growing. Plus tips about self-water pots. Plus ... New subscriber!
I also hope to be vibing or become one with my Alocasia one day! Thank you for giving me hope. 💚 Right now it’s been 6 months of misery with them 😂😂😂😂 Hopefully I’ll be able to break this spell soon! I love these Jurassic plants from outer space so much, I’ll never be able to give up on them!
Your alocasias are absolutely incredible!! Wow!! Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, it was quite inspiring to see their potential. Thank you for the tips along the way. I look forward to other alocasia videos 💚💯🙌.
@@yolyrom7233 Aww lucky! I saw one at my local Walmart but some stupid woman took it…along with 2 monsteras and like 5 orchids..plant people can be so greedy 😭
My longiloba has been doing great this winter! I've only gotten one new leaf, but it's huge and there's another pushing out right now. Also, I love your Batik! I have a small one with two plants in the pot and hope it can size up like yours!
Thank You Ma'am !! For being that "bad influence" on me. Your the reason why I have an alocasia addiction! lol Love your t-shirt Ma'am. It too shall become part of my collection! lol Thumbs Up & Air Hugs Iowa 😊
I love your channel. New suscriber and I binged all the videos. I know in one of the videos you had mentioned its hard to get Pon. I see its out of stock on the Lechuza website-are they going out of business? Is there an alternate source? Just wondering if you’ve heard anything.
So glad to have found you! ❤ I have just started on the Alocasia bus and I am terrified of killing them. I ordered a Black Velvet, Dragon Scale, Dragon Moon, and Frydek. I do have Lechuza Pon but right now I have the Black Velvet and Dragon scale baby’s that I have already received in fluval stratum. I have dyna grow foliage pro, Super thrive vitamin solution and silica. Will it be okay to use those with the Alocasia’s or should I get something else?
Impressive collection. I love Alocasia, but they don't tend to love me back. I'm growing a couple of jewels from corms in a closed terrarium - which they should thrive in. But in sure they still have some drama in store for me.
I LOVE Jewel Alocasias, and really want one, but SOOOO not prepared to deal with water and humidity care. I need something easy like hoyas. LOL I added way too many plants way too quickly too! LOL I have 300, technically over if you count propagations, within a year. 😕 I LOVE your shirt. LOL
No, but it’s a good idea. I have grow lights in one section of my plant collection and those plants are thriving. I use soltech lights, but if you want something less expensive Barrina has decent lights
Love your alocasias! ❤ My Silver Dragon is directly in a south-facing window and loves it. I find it extremely light tolerant, actually. Maybe I'm just lucky that it never got spidermites, but I don't think this is a lower light plant to be honest :)
My son bought me a poly 2 years ago and it has quadrupled in size. I got a stingray last summer and just recently found a silver dragon. In Colorado and our stores just don’t get the variety or amount that other states get and I can’t afford anything higher than $25. Also don’t buy online due to price and I can’t visually see the plant. My first love is Hoya and would love to see your Hoya collection if you have them. Tfs
This is a wonderful video and you have wonderful, healthy plants ❤ I have three Alocasias: Jacklyn, Black Velvet and Dragon Scale. The easiest is the Jacklyn, it keeps pushing out new growth like crazy and it keeps its leaves. My problem child is my Alocasia Dragon Scale. This guttation is driving me insane. I tried everything: keeping it relatively moist, letting it dry out half way, letting it dry out completely, ... I don't know anymore. It gets enema on its leaves and they yellow and die off. I have it in Lechuza Pon. Anyone, ideas? How do you keep yours happy with the watering in a self watering pot?
I have an Alocasia silver dragon and a black velvet that are growing beautifully. They’re babies so they are in pon in self-watering planters. Thanks for that advice 💚 Now my Alocasia Jacklyn…she’s in the one leaf club despite having two plants. No more Jacklyn’s for me.
I’ve never heard anything good about Jacklyn care. It’s the only reason I don’t have one! Lol I love how beautiful they are, but I can’t afford to manage anymore finicky plants! 😅
The alocasia batik, how do you know the difference between that and a alocasia macrorrhiza? They look very similar and I brought this plant and it was labeled alocasia macrorrhiza camo and the plant shop owner said it’s for sure not a odora batik. It’s so much back and forth about this plant name.
Canopy Plant Co. I work with them and they have a huge selection of Alocasias at the moment. Their website is canopyplantco.com if you decide to buy anything use code: leafydiva15 for 15% off your purchase. ☺️
I’m surprised I didn’t see any black velvet, frydek variegated, or watsoniana. I recently got a micky mouse “alocasia” I think it’s a xanthoma or something like that but it’s soooo beautiful 😍
Funny thing is I work with a nursery one day a week for a few hours and see those Alocasias almost every week. I stay away from velvety Alocasias! Lol The Watsoniana actually used to be a huge wishlist plant for me, but by the time I had a chance to get one, I already had too many Alocasias and didn’t want it anymore. I still might buckle and get it one day! They look so good mature. ☺️
Do you have Melo Alocaisa? I have one, and I'm struggling with it. Please help. I have it in a well draining soil mix. It sits close to a grow light, and it sits next to a bunch of other plants.. I'm guessing the humidity is the problem. I just thought I would ask.

Great collection! I have the Melo rather than the Maharani and I unfortunately lost my Bisma Silver 😞 Dont know what happened since ALL my other Alocasia are thriving and pushing out new growth like nobody's business. I've always wanted the Dragon's Breath but I've decided after watching this video that a) I don't want another spidermite prone alocasia and b) I have no room left in my house 😆 Almost bought a New Guinea Gold but got the Alocasia Macrorrhiza Variegata instead 😜 Thanks for sharing your collection with us.
Quick Correction: 9:16 says 2022 and it should be 2023
Thanks for watching! ☺️🫶
I shouldn't have watch this video, now I want more than one😭

Idk how to feel because the polly is one of my dream plants 😂😂
I just recently bought one. I’ve been wanting one for so long since I first saw them. Looking for a Jacklyn now. So far so good, nothing complicated.

Thanks you for sharing lovely houseplants beautiful lovely plants collection beautiful lovely video have a good day
👁️👄👁️ now I understand why I might have rotted my Jewel alocasias. This video is gold. And your collection is amazing.
Thank you! Glad it was helpful!
Super helpful video. I have a brand new love for alocasia! Great tips to grow them up right!
Just bought my first one thank you for sharing learning so much about them 😊
Keepen it real. Love it. Thank you❤

Your plants are gorgeous. What type of soil do you use? And how about fertilizer? New at all this, but love plants
What substrate do you use for your plants? They are so beautiful❤
I needed this one! My Alocasia black magic is giving me a hard time. Im taking notes 🧐 Thank you for the info !!
It's probably a 'colocasia' which are a different, although similar, species. Colocasias are practically swamp plants and want constantly wet medium!
@@hberror404 Ooo thank you, I always used those interchangeably!😅
U go gurl

Alocasia chantrieri. I found one of those at Trader Joe's but didn't know what variety it was. Now I know!

Good evening your plants are beautiful did you ever find out how to make the pon substrate?
Someone in the comments directed me to a site to order more Pon. It just got delivered yesterday! 😊

May i ask a question, ? My amazonica polly has brown tip with aluttle yellow on the side shoukd i cut it off?

What humidity do you have it in? Sometimes if the RH of a room is too high it can impede on transpiration, lending to more water retention

Very good video. The only thing I would have added is how much alocasia love heat.
Yeah, I forgot to mention a lot of things. The spidermites are back in season so they’re top of mind right now. 😅

Doesn't the duster transfer pests? Do you disinfect it?
I’ve been using it for over a year and I havent had any of those issues. If it’s a concern, you could clean it in a sink or bucket of soapy water. 😊
Do you sell the corms
I have a black velvet and an amazoni… my black velvet is my legit baby

I have all of them but they don’t look like yours 😂
you saying silver dragons are easy
me having killed 6 silver dragons: 🤗
For me it is funny how you address all your alocasias with „he“. For my they are clearly female. 😊
I have no idea why I do that! Lol I did a video last week and called Alocasia Jacklyn a “he!” I didn’t notice until I was editing the video! 😆😅
I don’t understand Alocasia in any way.
They’re good trial and error to learn 😂😂😂❤❤ my favorite and most fickle
My alocasias are wonderful. My philodendron are the pains for me 🥲 (most of my alocasias are in pon)
Oh well, the only Alocasia that DID NOT thrive is my Alocasia Pink Dragon🥲
Plants are Females. ie, ROSES! DAISYS, MARIGOLD, ever heard of Tom’s or Bobs!
😂😂😂 that’s funny but also true. I call my plants both it depends on my mood.
