Watering pot can put out fires as well. My pig farm went up in spring forgot my lightning rod . Grabbed my watering pot and and put it all out. Secret op perk
I sure do hope that this will help poor Warly out with his need for onions for his special dishes. The Garlic, Onion and Pepper combo seems great for the seasoning too!
Did the math, Warly could potentially up your damage by 20(chili flakes)+50(Volt Goat jelly)% realiably. Adding "wet" status to the equation makes those 50 into 150, so 170% extra damage for 5 minutes off a single dish. Now let's assume we're forcefeeding Wolfgang, decked out in the best available gear...at his peak(+133%) he'd be able to dish out 300+% extra damage, which translates to around 400 damage a hit, mostly made possible by some French cooking. That's enough to utterly butcher regular bosses and make harder ones much easier. Totally worth it, except making things "wet" is a bit of an issue when it isn't Spring. And that's not going into damage reduction.
@@AthenaTennosN The Problem is getting your hands on some Volt goat Horns though. Warly is good for switching into him via the celestial Portal and making some dishes for various end game bosses, but he struggles in the early game right now.

I think this is an amazing addition. For those that can't be bothered by it, just spend all of winter farming ice and you can eat meat balls for years to come
For the bigger scale version, 6:37. The single best way to farm like that is to have rows going straight down, not the L thing. A row of potato’s, then a row of tomato’s to the right of that, and finally a row of onions to the right of that.
After seeing how easy it is to get the big crops bc all you have to do is water is and use a beefalo horn every day I feel like farming is definitely better
you won't even need to sing (or talk with them individually) once you defeat the Lord of The Fruitflies since the reward essentially automates that process. So that only leaves watering, which spring usually does it for you already :P An amazing rework to the farms imo
All i am seeing is that grinding-oriented players who do like farming equally to boss fighting are going to actually have a challenge on their own (not just placing those seeds anywhere without thought) and that since bunny men and wickerbottom generally got nerfed that means that we will see more of winona in game since she can farm queen bee all the same. Queen Bee rush will be top priority for grinding pals ! (even more than before)
I wonder if they'll add the sprinklers from Hamlet into DST at some point to automatically water your plants though that would likely mean setting up a farm near a pond which means dealing with frogs or mosquitoes or having it by the water if that works.
Hey Beard, after taking a look at your patterning, it seems crops do best when there are at least 2 of the same crop either orthogonally or diagonally adjacent to themselves, and within 2 "crop tiles" of the one providing them nutrients. Do you think storing large amounts of giant crops in pens during winter would be a good idea? They last a long time, so that's some easy food stores going into winter.
The new update with some tweaks could turn out to be really good! As always great video, but here's a question, could you do a video talking about the lord of the fruit fly please ? I think he's pretty neat.
To opt in you go to your Steam library > right click DST > Properties > Then on the top of the new window there is a tab named Beta > Click on the selection box and return of them beta and you're set
One of the crop lists at the end was for winter. Is that just for the caves, or can crops grow during winter now? Actually, that would be an amazing use for the scaled furnace. They could give the furnace a radius around it where it warms the ground during winter to make things grow in any season, or the furnace could turn the farm into a desert farm plot and let players grow cactus. I really want to see what a giant cactus looks like in this game.
@@TheBeard777 It seems odd that crops grow in winter now. I assumed they would add magic tab items that help with winter and withering but just giving players the ability to grow crops in winter with no withering seems like cheating. I assume they will add most of this back in later, but if not, the game just got a lot less challenging.
Giant crops die when they spoil, which is like 40 days for most of them at their base. Wormwood is done-broke after this update as his entire wild crops mechanic is worthless, completely worthless. They are aware of that and are working on a change.
How many manures, composts, etc do you need to apply ea time to get the big crops? For instance dragon fruit needs manure, so how many do you apply ea growth state?

@@guilhermedom2228 I'll answer that for you since I'm also trying the Beta out. Wormwood can still plant in the ground even outside of these new plots. They didn't remove that feature from him.

Hey Beard, after taking a look at your patterning, it seems crops do best when there are at least 2 of the same crop either orthogonally or diagonally adjacent to themselves, and within 2 "crop tiles" of the one providing them nutrients. Wicker could use some love, meaning that she could only affect a smaller area and not the entire screen plus the extra cost, but without the 10 plants limit. But lets be honest, she could do all without any drawbacks
Do you think storing large amounts of giant crops in pens during winter would be a good idea? They last a long time, so that's some easy food stores going into winter.
quenn be will be our saviour once again ... or salt box
The new update with some tweaks could turn out to be really good! As always great video, but here's a question, could you do a video talking about the lord of the fruit fly please ? I think he's pretty neat.
Once I know how the Lord actually works then perhaps so!
@@TheBeard777 thanks Beard!
2 attach period and does not kite, imagine a bee queen without slow, that much damage or reach and thats that. Probably dodge 2 hits i believe
7:14 something im saved from by being a wormwood main
Crops are like babies but much simplier
the whole nutrient mechanic reminds me of terrafirmacraft. i wonder what was the first game to do it.
oh ... terrafirmacraft ... my heart still aches from all the grinding
The tilling in the video hurts my soul
Wigfrid mains: I’ve gotten strength but at what cost?
Nice video beard. Can't wait for a patch to the test realm to make it out of date. Still nice video!
Yeah... that is one of the reasons why I didn't get this video out yesterday if I'm honest.
You should make a video for wormwood farming style.
What 2 years ago? Bro this game is getting older and better everytime
Mighty Wolfgang + Potatoes + Garlic = easymode
Reading? In my Don't Starve, it's more likely than you think.
Why is the update not available for me? Also Checked steam and the game never updated this week
Because it's a PC Beta, not an update yet. You need to opt into it on Steam.
Crops grow in Winter now, yes. That, and they are immune to withering and or smoldering in Summer.
@@TheBeard777
It seems odd that crops grow in winter now. I assumed they would add magic tab items that help with winter and withering but just giving players the ability to grow crops in winter with no withering seems like cheating. I assume they will add most of this back in later, but if not, the game just got a lot less challenging.
this update makes the game more more tinkeri
First time i got giant crops i thought they would spawn monsters so i looked it up
Tomaytoe-tomato
Potaytoes-potatos
I See what ya did there!
THE PROPHET BRINGS US A REVELATION!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can't thank you enough beard!
Good luck farming!
Do the giant crops die when left in the summer? And how effecient is Wormwood compared to the other characters when it comes to this update?
Giant crops die when they spoil, which is like 40 days for most of them at their base. Wormwood is done-broke after this update as his entire wild crops mechanic is worthless, completely worthless. They are aware of that and are working on a change.
How many manures, composts, etc do you need to apply ea time to get the big crops? For instance dragon fruit needs manure, so how many do you apply ea growth state?
2-4 I think I'm not 100% sure on that though
klei, you just needed to let the improved farm host more plants.. what have you done?! :))) I just played a pub game and it was definitely not a Don't starve together game, it was more like a glutton like a maniac game
don't get me wrong, this is a fun mod to play, but definitely not the "original DST experience"
If you get it just right, you can actually grow a full 36 crops, instead of the 32 you showed
nice. can't wait for the update
what about wormwood? Is the same desing but being able to put seed in the grounds?
I mean, I think you just answered your own question there... The obvious is obvious, friend! :D
@@TheBeard777 well,
is that I thought it would be more complicated since you can’t use swollen to make the planting more aligned, and I also have doubts about the part of watering the plant on the ground, how the watering part works is that I didn’t understand correctly.
if you can answer my question I would be very grateful.
@@guilhermedom2228 I'll answer that for you since I'm also trying the Beta out. Wormwood can still plant in the ground even outside of these new plots. They didn't remove that feature from him.
and watering the plant is the same process? or you can't wet the floor?
Hey Beard, love the content, i've been struggling with farming in this update and your videos made it a lot easier, however, i do see some post that said you can make a 4 or even 5 crop combos, can you help me with those when applying those combos into your methods in this video
Maybe, although in an effort to NOT make things already more involved we will stick with these for now. Besides, how much more do you really need? Even the basics are profitable.
I don't know if this will work, it probably won't, but maybe do the 3 crop system but instead of going
1 2 3 3 2 1
Go
1 2 3 1 2 3
Just an idea: what if you divide a triple farmplot into 9 2x2 squares, and plant 4 seeds of the same type in each square? (A pattern like ABC//CAB//BCA should work, so this means rows 1&2: AA BB CC rows 3&4: CC AA BB rows 5&6: BB CC AA)
you mean like this
a a b b c c
a a b b c c
c c b b a a
c c b b a a
b b c c a a
b b c c a a
if yes then it's not possible course only 3x3 share nutreans
Makes sense, thanks!
