    I love how he dresses like a alcoholic lawyer. Might make it easier for me to find this set anyway since he wears a different suit every set, since for what ever reason who ever is in possession of this bootleg thinks it was a good idea to cut out what is probably the funniest part. • @edgepixel8467
      @edgepixel8467 3 роки тому

      Why would you get offended at jokes? That indicates a deeper issue. I was never offended at stand up comedy. Not even back when I was a believer watching Carlin joke about religion. I laughed, I disagreed intellectually, but I had to admit at some level he made a good point.
      There’s absolutely no reason to get offended at comedy, unless you have some vulnerable ideological issue. Getting offended is a sign of personal insecurity.
      So what are you insecure about?

    To be fair, there is a difference between abstraction and truth. That which is abstract to you, and that which has been lived are different things. I spent a lot of time in Turkey and know some Syrian refugees. They are not really dealing. Now, I'm not saying the two who walked out have any connection to Syria whatsoever. But if they did, I could see walking out in some circumstances. It is one thing to heckle, but if you're hearing something you cannot deal with for whatever reason, why not leave? Sometimes in life we're going to be sensitive about some things. I'm not asking for safe spaces or any of that bullshit. But we cannot assume that people are always wrong to say, fuck this, I'm out. It depends on how your own experiences are causing you to deal with something. The crowd is going into that triumphant egotistical bullshit, like they've won something. Still more groupthink; more weak-minded dickhats getting off on belonging, on feeling like they are the better ones. And maybe they were. But you never really know.

    • @robbanks1084
      @robbanks1084 8 років тому +6

      "Hearing something you cannot deal with". That pretty much sums it up right there. There is an old axiom about sticks and stones that seems to be completely lost on most people today.

    Stanhope, bill burr, CK...we are born into great times. What happened to UK comics? We don’t seem to have any truly great stand ups at the moment (please don’t say gervais, great writer, very funny but stand up Noooo)

      Sure, Izzard is better. A cultured fellow, at ease with History and juggling a few languages. But Carr springs to mind. I enjoyed Sarah Millican; wouldn’t call her “great,” but she has a very wholesome authenticity.
