I don't view this as Doug rehashing old material, I just see that shit he said years ago is still relevant and correct.
All comedians recycle their own material, as long as it's their own no problem, but people like Sarah silverman, Amy schumar, and carlos mencia use other people's and that's pretty low.
That's why i don't go more than a week without hearing Carlin to some degree. Lately I've been listening to a lot of of what dave Chappelle says too and like the rest I don't agree with every word but it's refreshing in a way.

I just saw him last night at The Comedy Store in San Diego. He was fuckin great! He got heckled by some douche bag, and Doug tore him apart, then making the heckler walk out. It was an awesome show! Stanhope is the man!

Makes me think about what’s the point of anyone chasing celebrity. If it’s because of pure talent and skill, that I understand, but when all you did was wake up and share someone’s DNA, that’s not being a celebrity. That’s just someone coasting off of a shared last name or who you’ve slept with. If you want to be famous, get some actual talent or stay out of the way.

The reason you see a correlation is because Bieber is used here, and the New Kids on the Block or whatever corporate boy band was used in Hicks' act. In Stanhope's Word of Mouth, Bieber wasn't around so you wouldn't draw any correlation. The "complaining about the next generation, but in the opposite fashion" is 100% Stanhope.
Not that I particularly like this argument. There's a mile of difference between Hicks and Stanhope (compared to Hicks and Leary). The similarities end at them both being chain smoking, left-wing psychonaut alcoholics.
