7:00 I had an argument with the same lady one time. She cut me off near the same area. And she proceeded to yell at me for being dumb.
The exact same lady?! Someone needs to send her this video
Sounds like someone should actually call the cops and maybe ICBC...whatever good the later may be.
She’s all talk and nothing to back it up haha
SEND ICBC THIS VIDEO!
Where was the initial intersection and where were they parked? I need to avoid those spots at all costs because I *will* snap if I come across her
I would like to mention that your commentary is a big part of why I think this is the best Vancouver driving channel
Thanks Marek!
Wrong. The commentary is why I could only watch 30 seconds
At 4:17 in metrotown, I like how he enters the underground, gets cut off multiple times, and then was like screw it, this day is done and exits.
pretty sure he was just trying to cross from kingway to central boulevard
I'm sure someone has pointed this out but at 5:00, not only did he go the wrong-way towards a bus, but he also turned into the southbound Oak Street / SW Marine off-ramp - going the wrong way. So he somehow went from "wrong way" and turned into another "wrong way." Amazing talent.
That was so crazy. The only reason I can think of is he wants to park in the side parking lot at Coast Hotel or underneath the Oak Street Bridge. Regardless, I have never seen something that stupid!!
Marcus was hilarious. Also I agree that driving in the lower mainland is just constant chaos.
At 6:28 the cammer has the right of way but is super nice for stopping for that human blister driving the Jeep, he’s super nice he gives up his right of way so she could continue on her way but instead of giving a wave to say thanks she blames him for basically just being in the right.
I wonder how she pass to get her driver license
that woman should not have a licence 6:28
Agreed. This is why if I go the speed limit, Idgaf if someone thinks I'm slow. If they get into an accident, their fault. If they honk at me, Idc, safety is better than none.
@@TonyKimtheamusementparkfan well there are times when you should be driving faster than the limit to keep up with the flow of traffic. Otherwise you're deliberately making the road unsafe for yourself and others.
@@ShafZZS Never exceed the posted Speed Limit, it is the other drivers that make the roads unsafe. When an accident occurs at 5 to 10 kph over the Speed Limit the "Injury Ratio" goes up exponentially. Here in Australia "Crash Statistics" prove this year after year. Of course when you have winter there, driving is even more dangerous.
10:11 is it tsawwassen mill parking lot if you wanted to know
At 5:20 Marcus’ excitement scared the hell out of my Budgies, lol. Will have to use headphones next time I guess. Otherwise, great job, as always
😁
"Amy's headlights must have been bright enough...." Man the lack of people turning on their headlights in this city (especially on cars 2015 and newer because they're automatic!!) Is shocking. Especially in heavy rain
I'm starting to think that the EVOs don't even have lights on them 😂😂
They should follow California's rules, not allowed to use windshield wipers without your lights on. Although here it would just mean that people stop using their wipers all together.
@@pauluminous What a stupid idea.
Not sure if this channel would be sustainable in another large N American city, but in Vancouver, you never run out of content. Lol
That scooter going the wrong way was crazy
Bonus fact: at 4:43, after the turn, that car will be going the wrong way on a one way street
This on is my vid. You are correct. I dont know what he was thinking but it definitely caught me off guard. The bus was laying on its horn
the only thing that remotely made sense is he was trying to reach the parking on the east side of the Coast Hotel. But really, he could try around north on get to it.
this is so useful. I have already recognized so many intersections which I always drive passed by in my daily commute.
I've been seeing people run thru stop sign every day, already get used to it.
oh man I've seen lots of wrongway Corrigans on the road. One was an older lady who was driving the wrong side of the road, making a left turn onto the highway. FORTUNATELY she was at a red light and then when the light changed she got into the correct lane on the correct side of the road for her left turn (she turned left from what was basically the far right lane of oncoming traffic). Another time some old guy in a pickup made a left hand turn from a road onto the highway where you cannot make a left turn (due to jersey barrier), and went down the road for quite a ways. Another driver did the same thing on the same road at another time (another older driver). Now, there was also a long time ago, an older lady maybe in her 80s who was riding one of those mobility scooters in full traffic - and this was when those scooters had just come out - trying to turn left (in the left turn lane fortunately at least) from a busy street ONTO THE HIGHWAY. Insane.
6:54 - what a Karen!
worse than a karen
She probably doesn’t wear a mask and supports Trump
You never know
Holy shit talk about ignorant. How does she think she is in the right there
4:56
That's Marine & Oak - He turned up a ONE WAY STREET! xD
I work at that intersection...happens all the time...just not someone heading eastbound in the westbound lanes...that was risky A F.
That was great to watch... having been sitting on that road before (in the right direction) and had a few people drive at me... just gave them a minute to pull a 10 point turn.
That Subaru was just there to talk to the pharmacist about the symmetrical full-time all wheel drive 😔
At 0:15 in the intro...you are supposed to stop at the red light before proceeding if safe. It's a good habit to get into because if you don't come to a full stop you'll eventually find yourself forcing another driver to swerve or brake.
BC needs a solid online way to submit video of people being idiots to have the drivers held accountable. I channel I watch from UK has this, he submits video and after it goes to court, gets a verdict
Okay, Karen.
Awesome video ...now just if public could hand out traffic fines aswell
1:15 looks like is Bridgeport road right by Costco in Richmond.
I have a funny story about that road. I was coming into Richmond, had about a few km left of range left in my tank, and was looking for a gas station. That whole median is closed off so you can't turn into the Husky anymore. I had to do a big detour and was really stressed the whole time.
Aeron coming in clutch with all those videos
2:47 I walk by those chargers all the time. Tesla charging port is on the drivers side only. You can see the correctly parked Model 3 infront also charging, and the dirty, gritty, heavy charging cable is rubbing against the brand new paint causing scratches. Either they need longer cables, or bay-parking charge stations.
The intro driving is wher I'm always driving on my way to work! :D
2009 at an intersection in Burnaby an older Oriental guy in a BMW 5 series for reasons I can't explain backed into me, looked in his mirror then grabbed at his neck like he got whip lash. I told him to piss off after seeing that the only thing I had to do is straighten my licence plate. The next intersection he blew a red light in slow motion and got creamed by an Eastern European guy (yup, he was sober just in case you were wondering). I stayed to be a witness, that poor Russian had the sun in his eyes so it would have been tough for him to see.
That was just one of too many examples. It was a thing for the newly arrived Orientals to get a relative do the driver's test for them or get a fake driver's licence. Some of these people have zero concept of how a vehicle works, there is no way they passed getting their 06driver's licence.
8:09 lmao the jeeps driveshaft and head gasket blew up 😂
That'll be expensive to fix haha
4:18 Yesss this happens so often in underground parking lots. It drives me nuts. People don’t know how to yield and stop when they have a stop sign. It happens a lot in Costco as well. There is no 3 or 4 way stop sign. They have a permanent stop sign. That means they have to yield to all oncoming traffic before proceeding. Drivers just don’t get this and they are impatient af!!
I see a lot of FAILURE TO MAINTANIN YOUR LANE, I think you should bring that up more often. Great videos
People don't seem to understand how lines work or the width of their vehicles
9:41 I don't care what anyone says, there is no rule/law that states that TWO vehicles can turn when the light goes from green to yellow/red.
It's not a rule or law, but it's kinda common knowledge. Usually the sensors on the ground for the green arrow turning light are set so that it'll go off if there is a third car in the lane. It's assumed that 2 cars can go either during the green or the yellow
I will vehemently disagree with you on this "common knowledge"/assumption. Unless clearly stated in a rule book somewhere, this is as good as a personal opinion at best.
I live in Maple Ridge the electric car parked in the wrong direction is right in front of the cop shop too. Building ahead is the cop shop.
8:21 Just FYI, while that red car should have been more careful before entering the lane, Mad Peddler should not have been in the process of a lane change in that intersection. Should have either completed lane change prior to or after that intersection.
the instant karma clip is also a 30km zone, that guy might got two ticket.
also they went straight through a left tun only lane. 3 tickets?
richmond?
That's exactly what I was thinking 😂😂
Where else could it be
This is a daily thing in the lower mainland if you drive throughout the day, so many bad drivers out there. Turn signals not being used, and drivers not turning into the right lane when turning right, you don't turn into the left lane when turning right, how many people do this and get a license is mind boggling....
just last week I was driving through stanley around 8-9pm and as I was about to turn the corner where you then see that bridge/overpass overlooking the start of the bridge just before PP, I noticed a light and I was like no f-ing way and guess what? A truck was coming down toward me, tho I think my horn and highbeams got the message through because when I passed him I saw him turn back around. Wish I could have gotten it but I have no idea how to use my dad's asian dash cam 😂
Crazy! Ya I'm actually surprised I haven't seen more of that around Stanley Park
2:54 That's actually a design flaw of Tesla. They only have charge points on the left rear side of the car. So street side charging isn't a problem for customers in say the UK and Japan where they drive on the left. But for NA where they drive on the right, you end up with this mess. You can see the Model 3 behind charging with the cable stretched to the drive side.
I swear lately people have just decided to not stop when turning right and just expect traffic to stop for them. In the past few months it's just been constantly getting cut off by people forcing their way into traffic when turning right. I can't do anything about it in my work van cause I'd get in trouble but you best believe I'm laying on the horn and going around them when in my personal car when I'm able to lol
Love the videos man I from Vancouver as well👍
Aren’t we all?
@@Bull3tBikes true
I subscribed this channel long before I moved here just to get a sense of what I should expecting on the road.
3:12 . Saw that clearance sign and just had to look for books on how to drive.
6:05 White Lexus SUV is under the biggest food-delivery company among the chinese community, named Fantuan, in Vancouver. I gotta say, most of their drivers are good on the road, but some aren't, and their e-scooter/motorbike drivers in RMD are crazy. Sometimes these scooters are on the sidewalk, sometimes on the road, sometimes on the bike-lane. I have a hard time trying to share the road with them and understanding why they are allowed on public road, at others' cost.
Looks like a meteor at 5:00 (top centre)
I thought so too but I think the light is catching a scratch in the windshield
That obnoxious woman demonstrate why BC, even with Provincially owned insurance, is so expensive, compares to Saskatchewan. People who do not know the rules of the road thinks they are the one who did it right. They honestly think it is everyone else who are driving the wrong way.
Marcus, at 5:07, guy also goes through the red while in the left turn lane too.
and also speeding since that road is 30 kph
I try to avoid any commute around Burnaby, Richmond and all of whiterock. Hell, if I need to go to Metrotown, I’m taking the sky train.
Thanks for the headphone warning at 5:20!!!
Just as a separate item, it's interesting to see what happens to that grey Jeep AWD vehicle in the clip that starts at 8:05. That wasn't a terrifically hard crash. And yet, the twisting of that unibody vehicle was so severe that it severed the rear drive-shaft U-bolt connection! If the vehicle had been travelling at velocity, and there was a serious divot in the road surface, the entire rear axle assembly would have been torn right out of it. Probably, it will be yet another un-fixable write-off when ICBC look at the damage already incurred.
Great content ! Subscribed !
Nice intro too.
Instant Karma moments are the best, I managed to capture one of those (I am a driving instructor in Tahiti)
You can see it in the video number 6 of my little Dashcam channel.
Keep up.
Thanks!
Coming from the US and living in van now, it feels like it's the wild wild west for driving tbh
Growing up in Van I've seen some horrendous shite in vehicles, I won't mention any names...haha
3:49 Lots of adults on bicycles after dark are convicted drunk drivers who have had licenses revoked, but they must get to the liquor store or to a buddy's house to buy it at an after hours mark up and of course they're riding it drunk.
4:26 to the white car's credit, when they were inside metrotown parkade he was just following the line and going straight but Eric took a wrong turn and came up beside him.
That grey Mazda 3 parked in the middle of the isle was out at Tsawassen Mills
The BC Motorist Association thinks that if the public obeyed traffic laws, your ICBC cost would be 600 dollars a year, dudes
Yaayy my videos made it!
Have you had time to edit the Vancouver Island video yet?
I don't have enough footage yet! Usually I need about 40-50 videos before I can make a video
Makes sense, cheers. Enjoying the vids
I would LMAO if the jeep at 6:30 is the same one as at 8:12
😂
So as the poster is talking about the draw, we drive along with a camer who rolls through a RED light making a right turn...
yoo could i reupload this video bro? with full credit ofc
10:34 welcome to downtown, where pedestrians rule the streets.
4:48 not only did that driver drive the wrong way down Marine Drive but then they turned into a one way road for the OTHER direction. You can't fix stupid but maybe that idiot thought two wrongs (lefts) make a right. 🤣😂
03:06... Parked on the wrong side of the road is a moving violation, 3 points and $500 removal from your bank account... if caught... if the cop cares...
If that visitor isn't from here entirely, where they expecting signal or sign is placed is very different from us.
10:50 Vehicle illegal to make U-turn when it interferes with other traffic, and on or near the crest of a hill, where it cannot be seen by other traffic within 150 meters. (according to ICBC Learn to Drive Smart)
4:37 In the underground parking at the mall, those intersections don't have stop signs for anyone. That means the car on the right has the right-of-way. In other words, the camera car didn't get cut-off, he should have stopped and yielded the r-o-w.
@1:14 There's literally a sign that says ROAD CLOSED. On the other side of that Husky, there is a blind crosswalk that I had to call the city to install two signs to tell drivers to stop. I have been almost hit multiple times by driver refusing to slow down coming into a blind corner. Blackbox needs to start selling glasses cams too for pedestrians. Can't wait to leave this city. German cars = -20% driving skill
7:00 My response would have been... less polite.
I absolutely cannot stand entitled drivers. her Nasal, Whiny, and Bitchy voice drives me up the wall
Yup...me too. Unfortunately the only way she’s going to learn is when she gets pegged that that intersection, And is found 100% at fault. Unfortunately the poor person who hits her is going to be subject to some Verbal abuse like she did in this video.
That on coming is my city in Richmond on Bridgeport just before great Canadian way,
Now I irony i drove home this way this evening and a car was driving towards me in the fast lane flashing it’s hazards in the exact same spot
3:19 that explanation lmao
I agree ... make a Uturn or turn into a parking or side street.
Fault chart if there was a car accident would have found the Jeep 100% at fault as she blew the stop sign, stopped mid-road and proceeded when not safe. Period. Notice how the person that is wrong is always the loudest.
want this to stop? mandatory roll back on stupid shit like this , once convicted , send them back to G1 and make them do the process all over again , do enough times they loose their license forever
You think this parking would only happen in Richmond lmfao
The dual charging stations on the street side is really not the best setup for Any EV that has the charging port at the rear. It is fundamentally a design flaw for those charging stations. Side by side will work but not on the side of a street that if first car parks too far behind, it is very hard to pull the cable that long. They should have adapted the extendable gas hole at any gas station so it can be extended over the top.
That woman driver arguing with the guy after she cut him off? That was just wrong!
Also the Tesla is charged on the left, but those stations have the range to connect.
Street signs are not the same bro .. I am from India and i love to go by and follow rules .. but here because of the population not even a single soul follows traffic rules. No one stops for a red signal, sometimes I even felt if I am the bad guy here for following traffic rules lol. I will be flying to Vancouver this September and I have to learn a lot of rules before I drive a car or a bike I guess lol.
I'm a flagger... alot of things that happens on this channel is two things 1) they dont care 2) most of them are from another country and dont know the laws
Somehow I missed watching this fresh so I missed the new realase post on ig or something. Also utube didnt notify me sorry mate
Unacceptable 😅
Eric also just using the underground parking lot as a street cut through which is illegal I'm pretty sure just like cutting through a gas station parking lot, maybe why he kept getting cut off
Nothing illegal about going thru the parkade to get to the other street.
4:44 that's also a one way street they just went they wrong way down. Oak and sw marine dr.
I like the red light camera. I do not like the speed detection camera unless the driver is going 30 over the speed limit.
I was worried about that when they installed them in Vancouver....but ya I think they're set for over 30-40km/h over the speed limit (to get drivers being complete idiots)
the tesla at 2:58 is facing the wrong way (obv) he couldve just u turned and charged. his charger port is on the passenger side
4:43: he doesn't mention it but the driver goes the wrong way down the road and then turns up a one way street going the wrong way
Why so many people in Vancouver drove in the wrong lane? Is that because most of them from Asia? We drove on the left side of the lane in Asia.
Richmond?
Civic drivers always tend to drive like a sports car
5:59 if the white SUV was legally in the intersection (as he is in the clip) before the light turned red, all cars must wait for the white SUV to exit the intersection
still makes the guy an idiot for not exiting the intersection
Those pedestrians crossing against the light are taking their life in their hands. Pedestrians BC do not have right of way outside of a crosswalk or if the walk signal is not lit. That means if you don't notice and happen to fucking smoke one of them, it's their fault.
You should be able to provide these videos to the police and if they can clearly identify the driver license of the car, they should be able to issue a ticket/fine.
One word before I even watch this. "Crazians"
Half the drivers in Vancouver area are from a different country and our terrible ICBC lets them have a licence
That scooter driver was a real Rascal.
Woman at 2.25 needs re-driver training clearly before she kills some one.
I subbed 😁
I see drivers do U turn every day…either they don’t know U turn is illegal in BC or the driver is just too damn lazy to turn up ahead at an intersection.
Most people don't know it's illegal....they think it's only illegal where the sign says no uturn 🤦♂️
There's no road rage in Vancouver cause there's no point. The bad driver hasn't got a clue, probably using a family license and doesn't speak English or French.
And that guy has the courtesy to stop and let her pass first! Antie Karen....
As bad as these drivers are, they got nothing compared to brampton drivers lol
