    @4:22 Black car was 100% at fault ran the Stale Yellow and should have stopped for the light. However, the Poor White car in the Intersection turned too early. I've always taught my kids, doesn't matter what the light is doing, if you are in the intersection when the light turns, you own it. Wait until it's 100% clear if you are unsure, before you make your move.
    Great Compilation VWDD!!!

      No, I’m 100% sure that ICBC would say the white vehicle was at faulty. Left-turning cars don’t have the right of way over straight-through, even at a stale yellow light. My dad and I got into a similar accident, in the same position as the white car. Both of us were moderately injured and I couldn’t walk properly for a whole month… even then, we were paying the full price - the damage, the insurance, everything. That was a rough lesson for us to learn and when I started driving, I always make sure that straight-through car clearly slows down before I turn my wheel, even if when the light already turns from yellow to red by that time.

    Regarding “the yield issue” It is a growing concern in Vancouver where a culture is being created that looks like this. ‘You merge where and when you want to merge and expect that cars on your left will yield to you rather than the other way around’. The effect this has on the movement of traffic especially on Hwy 99 South is catastrophic. Many of the slowdown and bottlenecks would ease if people simply obeyed the law and didn’t look at road signs as suggestions. Ultimately this is an issue for enforcement

    There's a left turn right by my apt. On multiple occasions I've been crossing at the crosswalk (note that I'm a goody goody who doesn't even j-walk) and someone will just completely ignore that there's a crosswalk there (let alone that I'm in the process of crossing) and make the turn. 3:43 It's not about saving money. I reckon if that driver had stomped firmly on the brake when he realized there was a crash pending, the ABS would have saved him. Then again, the reason we have ABS is so that the car can still steer a bit. And it's fortuitous that on this occasion, this resulted in a single-car crash without anybody in the cammer's car from getting whiplash.
    But far too many drivers are too quick to steer away from a pending collision without thinking of the consequences, such as hitting a vehicle in an adjacent lane. Few, if any, have actually gone out and 'taught themselves' how their brakes, and the car, will behave when the ABS is activated under a hard stop. Nice rainbow, though!

    2:52 That is just as much the pedestrian's fault. He was crossing one way, then immediately turns and steps off the sidewalk the other way. • @Marcel-eg9bz
      @Marcel-eg9bz 2 роки тому

      So, I don't want to be rude, but you are high if you think that was the pedestrian's fault. The car didn't even STOP at the STOP sign. Then the car proceeded to barrel down the road AFTER the pedestrian engaged the intersection. On top of it, the driver appeared to notice the pedestrian and applied the brakes when the car was IN the pedestrian crosswalk. Like, what....

    I think turning left should be illegal on ALL of granville Street. Especially the large 6 lane section to and from the highway

    If drivers all over the world were to obey the rules and regulation as well as use common sense (world wide shortage of this) our presenter and others like him would have to find a new hobby. Driving "skills" today are severely lacking to the point that the rules and regulations are merely a suggestion, if you are in the mood to do so... maybe.
