I fell like we console players are having a monkey's paw moment. All we wanted was a complete and at least somewhat up-to-date experience. And then a finger on the paw curled and we got whatever this is.

I read an article about Starfield today where devs talked about the management pitfalls in it, how the lead quest designer had to make the finale quest at the last minute via asset reuse.

Prepaying dlc for the first 6 months and then not getting what was promised, big shocker! This studio is crashing

Yeah, helldivers was the last nail for me. I loved payday and other similar games like killing floor and of course left 4 dead. Arrowhead really capitalised on the power vacuum in the jolly co-operation shooter scene.

As soon as they're no longer contractually obligated to keep working on this, they'll be right back to Payday 2> Maybe they'll port it to a different engine to continue working on it or something, who knows. Frankly, this game has been a disgrace and the fact that they take so long to release updates must mean they're working with technical debt. Really disappointing. No other game takes this long to release updates like this.

I think going back to Payday 2 would be a massive PR blunder and no one would ever trust their new projects again. That said, I also think their D&D game is going to be a huge flop. Not sure what they should do at this point.

We need to give support to studios like techland who actually listen and care about the issues their players want fixed, studios that make games for giving people experiences they enjoy, not stealing their wallets and booting their asses with bad content.

bro, I waited a looong time for this game to come out, only for it to be an absolute disaster. I hate absolutely everything about this piece of trash, I feel hopeless about its future, this game doesn't deserve to be released to the public, it should be atomized and all memory of it erased.
