I always find it funny to imagine all the fans paid for tickets to watch a building, because there’s no indication they can see what’s going on inside the stadium building
The fact that this is all connected to the Splinter Cell canon and Sam is spending his retirement coaching operators for e-sports is also pretty crazy.
I feel like for South Park it would be the inverse, paint ball players forced to become an anti terrorist group… and then they’d die horribly because it’s south park
Back when the stadium cinematic dropped I remember thinking "oh that's cool, the Six Invitational is right around the corner, so they made this cinematic to hype up the event, having the pro players and their passion represented by the very operators." Never in a million years would I have thought that that was actually canon but here we are
This is the consequence of avoiding politics in games. Stories end up looking silly in order to not offend anyone. Politics fleshes a world out and adds realism to it.
@@Hitokiri1912 Well it can be larger than life a lot of the time and completely avoid consequences which contrast greatly with a setting like Tom Clancys work plus the grand tournament with teams of special forces soldiers is very anime.
An anti-terrorist secret agency becoming airsoft sport celebrities is the dumbest story I ever heard. Like, not even fun B-movie dumb, just plain dumb.
Honestly it spiraled out way before Siege. The instant Clancy trademarked his name and different writers and sub-brands took off most of the stories became pretty stupid. I'd even argue Red October was Clancy's only good book.
The fact they wrote an entire explanation to justify having a super secretive elite military counter terrorist force be an esport team and use that as a jumping off point in the story instead of just saying its all non canon scenario is wild.
Reminder that there is canonically a story in the R6 universe where Ash, Tachanka, Blitz, Frost, Ela, Iana, Fuze and Doc were transported to anime Narnia and Ash becomes a catgirl in that story.
@@shoelessbandit1581Lets just say the Gacha game arknights creator is a huge R6 fan like really they have allot of inspiration to R6 the skill icons the enemies looking like white mask and they already have part 2 were they recreate the iconic R6 cover art All in all they give respect to the source material while doing the Collab events and their individual story just screams "FREAK YEAH HUMANITY ROLES"
Fr. I figured they had an insider telling the white masks what rainbows next move was. It would have made sense since in the Rainbow six book, the operators could never find leads on the people they were trying to track down until some guy working as a third party whistleblew on their operations.
I believe it was theorized that smoke is a rainbow operator but infiltrated the white masks. Was never confirmed or denied because they literally did nothing with the white masks since launch
I remember seeing the map description for the stadium and just thought "Oh, they use it for training, that's funny." Little did I know that was a major canon event for the entire game.
I feel like this was the biggest issue for r6, making stadium canon. If they needed a canon stadium, they couldve just made it an abandoned but polished stadium with no one there. It would also coincide well with the original lore for multiplayer being operators practicing against each other. And i feel like they shoulda just made a separate game for the pve and the story itself
I wonder what happens if you buy tickets to a Rainbow match and all of a sudden there an attack an all of Rainbow Six needs to go and take care of it. Do you get your tickets refunded?
Best Part is that random chinese company who bought the rights to use Team Rainbow for a collab in their anime tower defense game (Arknights) took better care of the Lore of the individuals, their goals and ways than what modern R6 does with its cast.
Lmao, team Rainbow with cat ears is still dealing with terrorism and protecting the innocents while these dumbasses are competing in a stupid Olympic with White masks presumably still around.
Team Rainbow is a bunch of countires working together to fight terrorism so the operators still serve under their respective governments. They wouldnt be able to just leave and join a PMC group while still being enlisted

Look at old footage of the game. The game used to be dark in visual style, deep black shadows, no goofy Rick n Morty skins, clearing a building was terrifying. Now its just Overwatch with destructible walls.
I only think it was dark and gritty in its E3 trailer the cinematics were pretty dark but ever since beta it's been pretty light visually. Now that I think about it, we did lose night maps 😭
You know what I hate the most? This whole stadium and operator vs operator escapade feels like the biggest cop-out in order to avoid any further PvE modes.
sir, the only PvE mode we ever got before the Tournament stuff was Outbreak. And since then we've recieved a literal PvE that allows you to play matches with actual bots + an overhaul of the Terrorist Hunt. Not to mention the entire game they made from Outbreak, that also released after the Tournament stuff. (Although it was in development before the Tournaments, plus its pretty bad). but overall, they've increased in focus on PvE stuff AFTER the Tournament Arc
@@acey6991 2 things bud. 1. I don't know if they've recently gotten rid of them, but Situations have been in the game for atleast 7 years. you don't need to be a "Vet" to have played them. 2. Situations were literally the games Tutorial and can all be recreated in T-Hunt. And although i've played since Velvet Shell, being a Veteran player literally has nothing to do with my reply. Ubi is a dog water company. But they didn't make a Tournement Anime style story arc just so they could have an excuse to not make PvE content.
Remember when Rainbow was such breach of international law, that NATO and the UN would disavow them in a heartbeat if the world found out the true nature and origins of their organization? (John Clark specifically told you this) Yeah, apparently Ubisoft forgot that part when they made Team Rainbow and airsoft team. When this first dropped, even I couldn't believe what they were trying. This was as far removed from the setting as they could get.
To add onto that, in the original Rainbow Six book, during the Olympic stadium section, I can't remember if it was Ding and Mike, think to themselves about how what they are doing could never become an Olympic sport, unless they brought back Roman Gladiators. And then reflecting that what they do isn't for sport and isn't "mass entertainment for a kinder world."
I was never wrapped up consistently in the lore updates for siege. But I do remember thinking, why did they make the leader for rainbow a hippy therapist?
I don't really buy that the stadium plot was to make the story more escalable. What I think happened was that they realized making a game about anti-terrorists is inherently political, and they needed to tip toe around a lot of stuff to avoid offending anyone. They want to keep the game as apolitical as possible to attract more players. Think about the backlash they could have gotten if they had released any of the Russian ops now with the Ukraine war going on. Or what if suddenly one of the units featured in the game gets involved in a controversial situation like violations of human rights? Then an ignorant news station could run a segment about the game that let's you play as them. That's why they stopped featuring real anti terrorist units in the Operator's background. Deimos is an attempt to go back to the anti-terrorist roots, while keeping the conflict mostly internal. He doesn't really follow any political agenda, his whole motivation is focused on Rainbow itself.
Sad that games cant tell their own stories and create characters without having to limit and worry due to people not understanding the difference between real like and fictional worlds
Yeah, the characterization is quite good, it is true that they take very well and somewhat quickly to live in a world similar but at the same time very different from theirs, with very clear similarities like Columbia, but Ash looked like a really cool leader. And it helped explain things on both sides of the games. I hoped the 2nd event expands on what they were doing.
One of my “favorite” parts of the Nighthaven shit is that some R6 operators left with them…Government owned, Special Forces operators, being assigned from their countries to team Rainbow…just left on their own to join a PMC…are you fucking crazy?
Dude the article 5 cutscenes and original operator videos were so badass. After your operator walks out of the decontamination tent, grabs his gun and rejoins his teammates as the music swelled.
I need to say that, in regards to the stadium, having all the operators live together in one location has got to be the worst security risks I’ve ever heard of
I mean in the original book they had two teams of operators living in military baracks at herford airbase so this isn't too far off from the original. After all they had to be ready to fly out whenever a major terrorist threat was going on somewhere in the world so they can't just be flown in from who knows where before boarding the plane together.
@tipiet560 It couldn't be further from that? A barracks wouldn't have live spectators and a broadcast of what's going on. Plus, I'd assume it's much harder to find a military base housing these individuals than a literal studio people visit to watch.
@@theldapperapple2382 I didn't say anything about live spectators or a broadcast lul? I just told about the original book and that the operators are all stationed in baracks at hereford base. There are obviously no spectators or broadcasts because THEY ARE FUCKING CTU OPERATORS.
There was a point in ghost recon wildlands where Nomad (the protagonist) asked Caviera about Operation Patriots, to which she replies, "it's classified." hinting that the events did indeed happen, the game just didn't.
@@Savagem8 yea that honestly pissed me off more then it amused me. I grew up playing rainbow six on Dreamcast and went from there. And to not only have a game I had religiously been reading the game informer for cancelled for e-sports fodder, but then to taunt me with that? Suck my gooch Ubisoft
@@zerozeroone4424from the leaks about the next ghost recon game it’s honestly going beyond what was even shown for patriots and going back to the tactical roots of the Tom Clancy series. It seems like Ubisoft is doing a complete 180 after their recent failures and are now listening to their fans.
I don't understand why AAA games are so allergic to realistic / "mil-sim" type stories. The same thing happened with the MW reboot, they'll pretend to be serious for about a few months until they start adding in zombies, dabbing emotes and Snoop Dogg skins. It's not even that "realistic" games aren't popular, games like Arma and Tarkov are huge. I'm just so burnt out with how unserious most stories are in games now, it's sucks all the immersion out.
grit and seriousness diverts from the norm and that scares companies. also the masses who still watch twitch streamers for some reason and gravitate to valorant/overwatch (the big leagues of subsidised art direction in favor of e-sports) magnetise towards cartoon graphics and atmospheres with hyper-developed character personalities, who in turn generates fanbases whose only logical conclusion is fanart and porn. and cosplay too maybe, but that's probably still just porn. the answer is porn and money.
for obvious reasons, because they don’t make as much profit doing so. Microtransactions make fuck tons of money in live service games, and you can’t sell generic mil sim cosmetics, because the consumers don’t care for that. They care for flashy, over the top, colourful etc, that shit doesn’t blend with mil sim. That’s why Snoop Dogg is in CoD, it makes money.
That's sadly a common plague that has been ruining every live service FPS games. They let the game live too long to the point they run out of initial ideas then start adding goofiest shit humanity never thought acceptable in something that marketed itself as a serious shooter. Not only COD, it happened everywhere. Siege, CS Online, Crossfire. You'll always find a transformer looking gun in game and nobody thinks it doesn't match the game tone.
They really should have stated that Deimos is just a gameplay aspect and him playing along with their "training" is mostly non cannon. Heck they could have just hired a double for him and basically say "Hey, we think this is how this guy will operate. Play with/against him just so you guys can dip your toes on be ready when you fight him for real" Instead of basically saying "Yeah, this is the real guy. Why is he participating on the activities he hates so much? I dunno- I mean... It's some super secret reason, yeah. He's totally a 5head gigabrain and it is all part of his plan."
At this point who cares about this games lore or about the game itself.Fk it.Theres literally skins of rick and morty, master chief and other goofy anime like women operators and people still cares about lore.Jeez.
I was under the assumption for a while that it only existed to bring hype for the esports invitational, but didn't have any correlation to the lore itself like Extraction Which, I mean, tragically Extraction has a pretty good story (that I remember) but was abandoned by Ubisoft (as far as I'm aware) So go figure ig
Basically, every other SOF/CTU unit in the world have been seeing actual action and stopping plots just like irl. Hell, a single Iraqi and Nigerian SOF who’ve been fighting ISIS for the last 10 years have more kills than all of Rainbow combined at this point

Yeah, the sellout hack of an author would probably be mad instead of spending the millions he got if he was still alive today. Dude wrote 3 good books and proceeded to shit the bed by the time he wrote the original rainbow six novel (which too, was complete dogshit compared to the hunt for red october). He never gave a shit and saw the games as a way to milk more money from his work and nothing more. He would have been over the moon with siege and how much money it's been making.
The lore plays out like a WWE storyline between tag teams. They literally duke it out in the field, have beef when they’re not training, then they duke it out again. Except with WWE, their storylines are atleast coherent
So Deimos just wants the counter terrorism unit... to do their job and kill terrorists? But instead of like acting as an advisor to Rainbow like Zero, he just hunts them down and kills them to I guess prove a point that they're all pussies now?? It's funny how they wrote a villain who's main point is correct but his actions make no sense in relation to it. Deimos was a major missed opportunity to really dig into the morality behind a covert counter terrorism unit with no government oversight. If I could rewrite him, I'd make Deimos believe its dangerous to have CTUs exist unchecked, and decides he only trusts himself to run a Rainbow esque unit. So his goal is to essentially cannabalize every non-government CTU and for-hire groups like Nighthaven until hes the only one running what would basically be his version of Rainbow. So he'd first try to recruit anyone from other CTUs including Rainbow and Nighthaven, and those that said no or disagreed with his vision had to be eliminated. Additionally, and this part is slightly in the current lore but I would focus on it more, he actually wants covert ops to be, you know, covert. So the whole airsoft olympics thing very much pisses him off. Ok in a perfect world the stadium just would be scrapped entirely bc its obviously stupid as shit but it was already there before Deimos so I gotta work it in. He wants his CTU to be impossible to track for tactical efficiency, especially considering he's going to war with other CTUs, hence why he kills anyone that knows about him and doesn't join the cause. To tie his motivations together and make his beef with Rainbow personal, his backstory could be an op that went wrong and his whole team was killed. They were like family to him, and they died because whoever was running Rainbow at the time (I like the idea the leader is just called Six) didn't listen to his input on the op. Something like maybe he wanted to keep the op quiet but Six communicated with a local government for information, that info got out and led to an ambush. Then he has specific motivation to run Rainbow the "right way", seeing Rainbow as his white whale and ultimate goal of his crusade. While he initially reaches out to some ops about joining, maybe swaying some Nighthaven ops, his undisclosed goal is to kill Harry. Maybe he frames Nighthaven for Harry's death, causing a civil war between the two teams so he has less ops to contend with, leaving only the best ops alive and very open to join a well run CTU after their's was destroyed. He'd be the only one left for them to work for.
Only thing I really disagree is your proposal for his background motivations, mainly because the Six at the time would've been either John Clark or Domingo "Ding" Chavez - who were HIGHLY competent at their jobs and both ran Rainbow like clockwork until a bad apple in Vegas nearly compromised the team's existence. I would maybe work Vegas into the story - with Gerald's team or family killed due to the data leaks, or have his team killed due to higher international bureaucracy (maybe some high level bureaucrats secretly compromised their operation as part of some deal, or were trying to force them to let some terrorist go). I would even add some consequence to Harry setting up the fucking stadium and essentially publicizing Rainbow's existence so there's actually some credence and threat to his desire to turn operators against eachother/to his side and more clear reasoning to Deimos killing him (I can imagine a lot of family-oriented operators supporting Harry's death if his actions led to terrorists targeting them or their loved ones). Maybe even imply that he had some backing from various government and military leaders because *publicizing your covert international CTU is VERY bad and you become a loose end*. So now Rainbow is contending not only with the threat Deimos poses, but debating if he operated within their mandate. And all this, while being much more compelling than the current lore, would also be a lot more Tom Clancy.
Its more spectacular when hes killing people plus it lets you interpret him as either the bad or good guy, not saying that this is the better way to write him but im assuming ubi's intentions
@@CheekyLad_ True but atm his motivations are pretty weak and it's even weaker considering he's currently training with them when his whole reason for hating current Rainbow is they became a circus performance publicizing their training exercises instead of being the professional, stone-cold troops of his day.
The moment that made me drop from the lore were when the ducking writers decided to pick up a elite anti terrorism unit and make them fitgh themselves in a damn stadium, where literally ANYONE can go in and watch their tactics and strategies, like you know what I will end this comment here before I say a lot of bad words.
I enjoyed Seige when it first came out, but i hate the direction they took the game. It went from being a serious and gritty game to yet another hero shooter with ridiculous and quirky characters. Its a good game, but it reallt shouldnt have Tom Clancy's name attached to it anymore.
It's important to keep in mind that the first Rainbow Six novel was about trying to stop terrorists from releasing a lethal virus at the Olympics. For some reason, the writers thought it'd be a good idea to have the world's most dangerous task force in public, showcasing military tactics all under one roof at their own Olympics. Terrorists could literally just study Rainbow's tactics, or even better just kill all of Team Rainbow in one place. Insanely stupid writing, even for Ubisoft. And then, there's Nighthaven...
The idea of making a PMC such as Nighthaven having any level of technological competition or sometimes being technologically superior to Rainbow is simply INSANE. John Clark said how difficult it was to get stuff to Rainbow, and even their heartbeat sensors were donated by the government or something. But nope, let's just see these bum-ass mercenaries outplay Rainbow like they're nothing.
@@roningfroggy Ding and the other Rainbow members were literally undercover during the Olympics mission in Sydney. Its like America Veterans, Video : "We Haven't Got the Country We Had When I Was Raised': 100-Year-old Veteran Worried About America" I can feel that man now... He would have said the same.
I think that Deimos killing Harry is representative of the devs attempting to go back to a more grounded story without the stadium and games bs. Ever since Harry was killed off, they’ve had a more direct story of Keres versus Rainbow, but I can’t be bothered to learn about it past the surface level because there’s no gameplay content to experience the story in.
The "Harry" arc was the worst period of this dogshit franchise. "We should hire a psychologist to run an international anti-terrorism organization" what?
Which is funny that an anime game collab arknight treat R6 character better in that game than Ubisoft ever did. Probably help that Arknight developer is a huge fan of the game
@@bennetth.929 it's realist, it mixes up the way people play (and other games with competent devs made similar maps togglable for sweaty tryhards who can't enjoy anything)
I grew up with R6 Vegas and Vegas 2. The switch from a grounded story of an anti-terror group stopping terrors to E-sports was like going from GTA 4 to Saints Row 3.
Tom Clancy games used to mean something when the man himself was still alive and had some oversight over games bearing his name. To show how deeply he cared about authenticity, he almost nixed Sam Fisher’s iconic goggles because at the time, dual night vision and thermal goggles were impossible. He only relented when devs convinced him that swapping separate goggles would be too cumbersome for gameplay. Every game had to be authentic and use either existing or near future experimental weapons and tech. And all the soldiers and spies looked and acted like professionals doing a job and being badasses. Now it’s all complete bullshit.
Team Rainbow in Arknights has a more serious story with a more realistic tone. And that story starts with Ash, Tachanka, Blitz, and Frost getting Isakei'd into a world where they have to fight magic mutants along side a talking lizard man and cat girls
It's kind of funny that it also still does world building for Arknights, namely what happens when someone dies of funny rock cancer (Oripathy). Also how Team Rainbow's firearms work compared to how they work in Arknights, and the potential shitstorm that could cause.
@@DakotaofRaptors yeah, in broad strokes that is their story in Arknights. And in like 6 months that story is getting a repeat and we're getting a second story where Doc, Ela, Iana, and Fuze are trying to find the lost four; also get Isakei'd to the same world; and get caught up in civil unrest in Not Cuba and have to fight terrorist dog boys
Also, don’t these operators still belong to their own countries and units? If they aren’t needed by rainbow anymore because the global white mask threat is defeated, then it would make sense that they return to their countries to be used by their countries for missions and operations.
so the devs made “Deimos” as the evil personification of the OG players who wanted rainbow to go back to its original form yet they have the guts to make him bad and then turning him into a just a regular airsoft operator.
Really goes to show you why games are so bad nowadays. Its because the developers dislike the playerbase and want to drive them away for their own slop.

I always imagined that the Croatian operator would be some huge dude, with 200 pounds of muscles, probably a veteran of the Yugoslav Wars, scarred by the experience, probably lost his family to terrorists, joined the anti-terrorist squad to prevent more innocent lives from being taken, and not "they/them grew up in a place full of toys and had identity crisis when a teenager". The absolute disrespect to what the fanbase used to be, combined with excessive uses of unnecessary rebalancing of operators, weapons, "give an ACOG to this weapon, take it away from that weapon", "give him C4 instead of barbed wire, give her frags instead of flashbangs", taking maps in and out of the map rotation, and always remaking them to the worst possible designs that would make an architect kill himself, always pandering to Pro League as if the average player is as skilled as they are... that's what made me stop playing Siege altogether and said "fuck it". A much better way to keep it in-line with the Tom Clancy Brand is have the two-team drama be because they joined competing PMCs who disagree on rules of engagement (one is by-the-books, one is shoot-first-ask-questions-later). An op goes wrong and hostages get killed, Rainbow splits up. Boom, _drama._ It’s not original but it’s *something.* A lot of modern media is losing its identity by stripping away its own lore/tone/aesthetics and replacing it with colourful, safe garbage because corporate execs who never even engage in that media want to appeal to the broadest audience possible.

What's funny is that The Finals does what R6 basically does, but way better because it was always supposed to be a goofy premise for a multiplayer FPS. There was never a serious grounded backstory to trample on.
I kid you not, R6's collab with Arknights (a gacha game) is leagues better with the story writing. Yes, 4 Siege operators got teleported to a different universe. Yes, they fight alongside anime girls with magic powers, but goddamnit the writers bring whoever had the reigns to this AAA title to shame. In the Arknights collab's storyline the characters' personalities are properly explored, they have an antagonist that makes sense (one would say the kind Tom Clancy himself would approve), the world makes sense (new lore becomes undisclosed), the writers don't self insert themselves and best of all, a gacha game knows how to fanservice and they did Lord Tachanka's character justice
They could’ve just had the White Masks funded by a rogue state of Whateverstan lead by a charismatic dictator and have them be the main villains for awhile.
When that loading screen of the game changed I knew it was the beginning of the end. No more Terrorist. No more maturity, no more tactical decisions or politics. The stadium idea works just fine, but they should have explained it by saying something like: ‘The stadium is a showcase of new state-of-the-art production military hardware (operator gadgets) and tactics, with the intent for military contracting.’ Essentially, all of the operator gadgets are new technology developed by private companies (or by the operators themselves) and are being showcased in simulated setting, with the intent of selling them for military production. Makes a lot more sense than this being a sporting event
@@nooloo5968 well that works a lot more than a car battery, sledge hammers are still used by some swat teams and other groups. Bandit has 3 car batteries while his coworker Jeager uses a compact ballistic defense system. Also rook is literally just a extra layer of kevlar
Probably my biggest gripe, besides the tourney revealing the identities of Rainbow Operatives, was Operation Chimera. Doc was somehow allowed to make a decision over his head, that nearly resulted in the whole world getting infected and turned, just because he disapproved of a nuclear device being used to stop it. Some of the operatives are humanitarians, when they shouldn't be, and it's stupid.
I really like the stadium cinematic's first half. Training at the ABANDONED stadium. Using the training dummies as targets, having those obstacles and reusing the location is so cool... But then they made it a public event.

I always loved the idea of an full length siege campaign were you would fight the white masks and could play with your friends, but sadly we probably won't get that and if so it would most likely be it's own spin off game to get more money out of the franchise
Deimos was the one that used nighthaven’s stuff against rainbow so the conflict would start up between the two organizations. The question is, how did he get nighthaven’s stuff in the first place? Also if recruit gets some lore later on, that would be GREAT!
Not that I've looked into it much, but saw some videos speculating that the new Recruits rework coming some time in the future is gonna be Deimos' recruits. Supposedly, its canon that he killed all the OG recruits. According to coreross, Deimos' Battle Pass head "Thousand Battle Stare" says "I killed Harry, maimed your team, culled your recruits. But still, you don't pull the trigger."
Look at how they massacred my boy. The old Vegas games were so good and I remember enjoying the story with the white masks when the game first released. What happened to Ubisoft
I don't think story is a main part in r6 because the target audience isn't interested in it. Like you said, they're in it for the gameplay, and the company notices that.
I would agree except for the fact that you can see Ubisoft has heavily invested in their story over the last 3 years, arguably more than when the game started. They care about building their story because they have made dozens of CGI animations for it, and they push those animations like through the map stadium. But the writing is bad
@@iAmLufa I don't think that's really to make any player care about the world in a detailed or specific sense - Raycevick (forgive the butchered spelling) argued recently for Ubi really pushing spectacle in marketing, no matter if the rubber actually meets the road in their games - so it's possible that CGI and other stuff really only exists for the flashiness, and is hollow otherwise because they don't really care beyond the marketing affect.
'Basicallyhomeless' on youtube made a bunch of entertainment focused videos where he hacked in ranked R6 MULTIPLE TIMES. And then he got invited to host a R6 event, he was hyped, told everyone, went to the event, stayed chatting with everyone, and got the sneaking suspicion they didnt know exactly what his content contains. Like an hour before going live he went up to the event manager and said "hey btw you know what my content is?" "No" was the reply "I hack R6" he educated, before being removed as host. They never cared.
Gameplay in Siege isn't really canon, as even when Ash is in a coma, she's playable. I feel like this is a good excuse for Deimos and Nighthaven, but it's still dumb how they switched from the perfectly canon gameplay to airsoft tourneys lol. Hopefully with Deimos, along with a new organization, we can get some actually cool lore
I think you have that flipped around. The story/lore is real. The gameplay is not. Like overwatch. Ik there was an argument that it's all a VR simulation training. But now, with deimos and faction conflicts, the simulation thing makes no sense.

What's almost worse than bad lore is amazing lore that is hidden in convoluted ways or behind challenges that require sweaty levels of dedication to find. Not necessarily 'phenomenal' but a good example is call off duty zombies. I love the idea of the hunt and the Easter eggs and that hunt should give you something awesome if you put in the effort to find and complete it but I'm pretty sure most of the fan base only knows the entire story from expansive 4 hour UA-cam videos, vaguely know the story from short bullet point videos, or know some of the story and then some made up stuff from chatting in lobbies/games. That said, it was fun as a kid playing World at War and sifting through all the made up stuff to try and decipher the actual story. I miss those days of gaming.

You need to be hired
Bro I would love this game again if this was the actual lore

@@eliteraider6187 they tried to canonize the pvp
@@eliteraider6187pvp is canon. It's considered a training inside the siege world. Even if it isnt, why bother with lore if its not even connected to single piece of gameplay? (singleplayer or multiplayer)

When the kid at school told you they played as a hidden character in Mortal Kombat and you had no idea if they were lying or telling the truth and you wouldn't find out until years later. Yeah, turns out they were full of shit.
Nah cod zombies lore is peak, mostly because half of it is just the result of multiple lead developers all using LSD over the course of 10 years.
Just make siege 2 already and go back to 1980's
Or make it more faithful to the original book.
Rainbow 2 Siege
Thats only gonna happen if ubisoft was in good hands but they arent. The whole company filled with greed, lgbt people, sjw, nft bros etc.

Ubisoft will not stop dancing and shitting on Tom Clancy's grave until the day his name is completely worthless and synonymous with trash
So nah fam, never going to happen
The Op Center novels already kind of do that, unfortunately.@@commisaryarreck3974
Tom Clancy is spinning like a turbine in his grave. (Even his most ridiculous plot lines have nothing on this mess).
-start with a team of elite soldiers being brought fourth to fight a dangerous terror group who all wear white masks, hoods and black bullet proof vests, and are well renowned for being overly cruell and having no regard for their own life.
-lore slowly adds more weird plot points that don't exactly connect and sound really weird to explain.
-lots of filler side stories.
-the angry bad guy who hates you ends up joining for... Reasons™, but still definitely hates you tho (100%, trust us)
-angry russian operators
You know, im starting to understand why they agreed to a collab with fucking Arknights of all games.
