Would have been a great Tube if it weren’t for that obnoxious background music. Bad attempt at a western movie guys. But congrats on the trophy
Agree with you Peter on the music. I was going to comment that the music took away from the excitement. I was just chuckling/laughing during the whole thing. It seemed so silly. Nice bull and great hunt though!!
We appreciate the feedback. Thanks for watching!
@@EastmansHuntingJournals The music is great! Old school western! Love it!
Whoever picked the music for this should be fired
You do realize Guy can’t fire himself, right?
Get rid of the music or make a better choice of soundtrack.
Otherwise great vid and nice hunt.
Thanks for your comment. We appreciate your feedback!
Why have a taxidermist "fix" him? He's good as is
Applying that he's gettin mounted
Guy - as always, this is amazing footage and you tell the story like no one else can. WOW! This video is a late season Christmas Gift to everyone who watches it.
We appreciate you watching! Kinda hard to beat a hunt where you encounter that many good bulls!
Thanks Guy for sharing your great hunts with us. I can still remember back in the 60's our our grade school would would break from class and meet in the gym so your grandpa Gordon could play his movies of his trip to the Yukon or Northwest Territories for us. I was born and raised here in Tonasket, WA and still remember the jewelry store (Eastman Jewelery) your grandpa had on mainstreet in Omak. Thank you not only for your great videos, but also for bringing back some great memories. Rick.
I remember those days also and the soundtrack takes me back to the days of Gordon's shows . I think its an awesome idea to incorporate the old theme in to the present
Thanks for watching Rick! We appreciate your feedback and the story you shared with us. Gordon was quite the adventurer.
Thank you Guy for sharing the best fair chase Big Game video footage.Happy Holidays Happy New Year To you all.We really love seeing Mike and Ike too
We appreciate the feedback Jeff! We will keep the hunting videos coming. Have a great new year!
Great hunt and I appreciate the music as I’ve always liked Gordon Eastman’s work.
I liked it lol. It was like watching an elk hunt with a 50s war movie soundtrack. I expected Kirk Douglas to step out.
Congrats on a GREAT bull. Looks like the same place Pickar's dad shot that 370". Awesome video!
Thanks for watching Seth! Glad you enjoyed this hunt.
You're keeping the legacy alive, great bull.
Those who dislike stop watching and eat Your veggies. Nice hunt and nice bull.
Man I thought it was mike at first great video 👍🏻
Monster bull and awesome hunt guys! next time play Cardi B as the background music to the hunt though. Would have fit in just as much.
congrats, giant bull!
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed the hunt.
Good shooting but the music takes away from the video, just do without the music.
Thanks for watching. We sure appreciate the feedback.
ha . the entire production and editing of this video including the background music takes me back to when I was a youngster watching shows your dad and family put together decades ago . I think its a good idea . it will bring back a lot of good memories for us older guys
We appreciate your feedback! The music is definitely a throwback.
Wow someone actually recognized the music! You deserve a trophy sir!
Really Informative
Nice video
Nice elk and an awesome shot congrats
Thanks for watching. Glad you enjoyed the hunt!
Nice 👍🏻
That's a fantastic bull just the way he is. Why have a taxidermist "fix it"?!
LRx Some like to see them as they would have been before broke. Can’t be scored that way after fixed but still big and beautiful. And if your a good cook the meat is still very good.
Larry Norton yeah, I get the concept. But IMO, you’re only speculating what that bull would have looked like, unless you have some pre-break field photos to replicate. Again, it’s a spectacular bull as is; why muck it up with some fantasy augmentation? If he wanted a big unbroken bull, that’s what he should have held out for. Otherwise, honor the animal for what it is, not what you wished it was. 👊🏻
Lol I thought it was just me being persnickety about the music but I said to myself "I feel like I'm watching an old Lassie episode" That's said, I've never seen massive bulls like this OMG!
Great bull and hunt. Not sure why you took the broken bull when the giant you had on video right before was in the drainage. I don't believe in having a taxidermist fix a bull. You get the bull you pulled the trigger on. that's nature man!!
Looks like the Custer National Forest, in southeast Montana, near the Powder River region. Or, farther north up towards the Missouri Breaks area?
Looks like the pines or down in Ashland
Could hardly wait for the shot, so the awful music would stop.
It looks like southeast MT you are hunting. How often do you draw a tag for that unit since you said you had killed another bull in there?
Thanks for watching. It's not the easiest tag to draw, but Guy did draw it one other time. Check out that hunt: ua-cam.com/video/bm1xUqt0t98/v-deo.html
Awesome bull gentleman anyone would be proud of that.
Thanks for watching Dennis! Definitely a bull to be proud of.
What year was this hunt?? That palmated bull looks like the one they put down on Jackson’s refuge recently.
This hunt was a few years ago and a pretty good ways from Jackson in Montana. I know the Jackson bull you’re describing though! Definitely unique. Two different bulls though. I’d put money on it.
Lol “nothing a taxidermist can’t fix”
Great bulls on private land
North side of the river or south?
Congratulations great bull I killed a nice broken 6 by 6 in October but I have to say no way will I him repaired that's part of the story
Thanks for watching! That broken bull definitely had a story to tell. Would have loved to seen the rut battle that busted that beam!
Cool video man, bet Joe Rogan has liked this..
If he hasn't, he should! 👊😂 Thanks for watching!
What cartridge? Bullet make (hornady ELD-X? )and weight? Rifle? Optic?
what cartridges do you guys prefer for elk? some people say a 25-06 is good and other say you need a .338 lapua magnum lol. I think a .30-06 or 300 winchester.
The best answer is whatever caliber you shoot best. A .30-06 is plenty enough gun for elk, as is a .25-06. This bull was shot with a .270 WSM.
Hard to beat a good accurate 30.06. You do your part and it'll do its part.
Big bull 👍!!!!
No doubt about that! Thanks for watching and leaving us a comment.
Eastman’s Hunting journals,Always Sr ,I watching your channel for long long time ago !!👍 thank you for great Videos!!
Are you using a guide service out there? How did you draw a hard to get tag a couple of years apart???? Just lucky?
This hunt was guided through Trophies West Outfitting, and Guy was just that lucky!
That second shot was unnecessary due to the fact he was goin down but a hell of a bull
Sounds like an old spaghetti western.
The music is straight out of a bad WWII movie.
Was this a draw tag or private land paid hunt?
Thanks for question! This was a limited quota draw tag.
@@EastmansHuntingJournals was it private land or public?
Pay to play for sure
Just curious, did you have to draw that tag?
Yes this was a limited quota tag. Thanks for watching!
1:05 Kinda sounds similar to the theme music of The Dark Knight series.
happy to see you are not a horn hunter
Enough with the weird music!!! Lol great bull. Good job guys!
I live in Montana what unit did you draw?
I WAS born an raised in Montana an. I wish they wouuldnt of let the military out of staters hurt there. My dad an I were hunting an here be bunch of shotsva n a man killed 12 Elk an then called his friends to come an tag them. He got caught but wonder how many of the ass hole that dont get caught. This makes it hard on the good hunters.
Great video awesome bull, however had to watch it in mute because the music was horrific..
We appreciate the feedback. We've learned a lot since this one...
where is this located and is it public land?
For 13000 you can have the same hunt. Big bulls big bucks leased and private land combined
Doesn't look like public land Mr. Guy???
WHATS UP WITH THE MUSIC THE LAST COUPLE VIDEOS HAVE HAD SOME AWFUL BACKGROUND MUSIC
Thanks for watching. We appreciate your feedback!
I do love your shows I really look forward to watching them they're really good great video great content but you do need to work on the background music thank you
I love Non-typicals. I’d have gone after that moose-bull.
That was definitely a one-of-a-kind elk! Thanks for watching.
I guarantee this is the breaks or the elkhorns bulls like that don't come easy caongratilations
Hunting videos don't need music...
Great bull but music is a no go.
I never shoot bulls with broken racks..they grow new ones..duh!...
Alot of tule elk get palmated like that at their tops maybe he got some of those genetics
First thought is i wouldn't take the busted up one with so many to choose from but wasn't my hunt and your happy so congratulations .
Thanks for watching!
All those bulls you pick one that’s broken lol
When you see the right bull, you just know! 👊👍😂
Yeah that music literally made me watch this video on mute. Just show the raw footage of the hunt there’s no reason to put that obnoxious ass music in there. Great bull but music ruined the video. Especially that music😂
That first shot took the bull down. There was no need for that second shot
Should have taken the big old bull instead of one in his prime. I despise trophy hunters.
Second shot wasn't really necessary
ENOUGH of the stupid suspense music, just show the video, and remember we hunters don't need any suspense music to enjoy the video, and it really messes with us old guys with hearing aids!!!! We have to turn your video down, and miss what your explanations because of the idiot music! There isn't any music on the hunt, in the hills, if there is, then you need to see your shrink!!!!!
...and you’re going to pay a taxidermist to ADD busted off points to your elk mount???
That’s some low class trophy hunting tactics. But enjoy the fake bragging rights.
That's a matter of opinion. Of which I never really asked for in the first place.
