I have this kit. It's overall very nice. But it took several times (over the course of a multi week road trip) setting it up and taking it apart before I started liking it, and getting fast at setup. It's super practical for getting more bed space when you have young kids, or pets We put a camping sleeping pad on lower the lower bunk, for comfort.... I also replaced two of the rods with beefier ones. Theyre Essentially shower curtain poles
Thanks for the feedback! Oh man, yeah poles were falling out of it (and falling completely out of the van onto the driveway) and with the belts that got twisted it was a total disaster at first! I was pretty frustrated!
Sorry about that! I didn't have much time to shoot the video and didn't have a tripod handy. Also, it's only intended for my son to lay on it and I didn't want him in the video. That said, if you search UA-cam for Cabbunk you can see some different sized people lay on them for references.
Thanks for sharing that. First time I saw that arrangement! Isn't it too much weight on a part (headrest) that was not built to receive vertical forces?
I wondered about that also, but since the weight is distributed across four different points (2 headrests and the two poles), and we're not going to be putting much weight on it, I think it'll be fine.
interesting solution! To tighten the lower bunk bed, would it help to move the seats forwards? I can imagine that moving the seats tightens both up and down beds, moving the backrests the up an down bunks relative to one another. So start by moving the seat and only then make final adjustments by using the backrest. Just my thoughts from watching the video though, I could be totally wrong :)
Yeah, I think I had already moved the seats as far back as possible so that's as tight as the lower bunk gets. It's really no big deal for our situation, but seems like it should be more snug if someone were lying on it. I suppose I could shorten the belts via stitching for the lower bunk if needed.

I thought you would also show how it is when ya lay on it .
Cool setup .
