One of the many things I admire about your technique is that you very carefully consider when its safe to come down the middle of the road, taking into account any oncoming traffic as well as filtering two wheelers coming up behind you. Must be quite a balancing act in order to get the footage you're after.
That's not that hard at all, imo. If they are addicted to their phone, they use it when ever they want. Easily spottable in those cases, where he sees them driving by and he takes his time to WALK along the line up to them.

I come across a lot of these whilst driving. But one of the worst was the other week .a lady with a car full of kids . dropping off her kids at school, one hand on her steering wheel.the other hand on her mobile device.trying to negotiate right hand turn into a road . Just could not believe what I was seeing.if someone had knocked one of her children down through phone usage she would want justice.but she was obviously immune to the danger of her behaviour. I did ask her nicely to put the phone down but she was just looking straight at me. Cycling Mikey is an absolute legend.
Why put in the effort if not reporting … You are Right to do this and i am sure traffic is just that tiny bit safer for us all . I wish more people would do this . Thank you Mikey you are a true Gentleman
If it is written in the law book, than drivers should obey the law. "It's illegal to hold and use a phone, sat nav, tablet, or any device that can send or receive data, while driving or riding a motorcycle. This means you must not use a device in your hand for any reason, whether online or offline. For example, you must not text, make calls, take photos or videos, or browse the web."
Pre viewing comment: Just read your extensive description. This is going to be very interesting viewing. Thanking you in advance Mikey. Stay safe out there.
I don't wish to make any excuses for these people breaking the law, but the fact you can catch so many people in a short period of time shows this is a systemic issue, not necessarily just selfish individual behaviour. If you combine the boredom and frustration of traffic with devices designed to be as addictive as possible, plus a very low chance of being caught, phone use is somewhat inevitable. The true solution therefore lies in regulating the technology, most likely the phones themselves. For example requiring them to lock if they detect being inside a moving vehicle and not mounted in a hands free set. My phone can tell me what music is playing in the background so surely it could detect engine noise plus the acceleration/deceleration of the vehicle.
Hi Vis wouldn't be enough for these drivers to notice Mikey. Maybe he needs a loud jingle like an ice-cream van to announce his presence? Is the 'Nokia Waltz' copyright free these days??!
Imagine having nothing more taxing to do than cycle along lines of stationary vehicles looking for clickbait. Me thinks Mikey loves the sense of power he weilds over the future of his victims.
LOL I have no power over anyone, and I don't need or want any power. All I would like is for you to get off your phone behind the wheel, to not run red lights, and not be dangerous on our public highways. You know, to drive to that very basic minimum standard of the driving test. Too hard for you?
OMG. I'm pretty sure I've encountered the driver of the Range Rover. I saw her first because she was blocking traffic, unaware the light had changed and everyone in front of her had moved on. I then saw at lights a few hundred metres down the road, looking at her phone. I confronted her about and got a very similar reaction to the one here.

It’s time the police used a more reliable provider for delivering there notices. I know you support the strikers but the loss of valid prosecutions is unacceptable.
Postal strike..is the footage not uploaded digitally and handled from there or am i missing something.?..thank you mikey you are doing great work.
"Rage Rover" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
1:53> Whoever painted that rear quarter couldnt see shit either!
It’s not *all* Range Rover drivers who are phone drivers, but by god it sure looks like *most* are
Surely it would be worth using a courier to deliver the NIP. The loss of fines must be enormous
Keep up the great work Mikey. People like this need to learn the hard way
Incredibly limited intelligence level of that lady in the Evoque
Naaaa, they're all doctors and brain surgeons 👍🏿
I come across a lot of these whilst driving.
But one of the worst was the other week .a lady with a car full of kids . dropping off her kids at school, one hand on her steering wheel.the other hand on her mobile device.trying to negotiate right hand turn into a road .
Just could not believe what I was seeing.if someone had knocked one of her children down through phone usage she would want justice.but she was obviously immune to the danger of her behaviour. I did ask her nicely to put the phone down but she was just looking straight at me.
Cycling Mikey is an absolute legend.
Be careful mickey some day u might have a bad day and could turn out to be ur last day buddy.
Mikey
Why put in the effort if not reporting … You are Right to do this and i am sure traffic is just that tiny bit safer for us all . I wish more people would do this . Thank you Mikey you are a true Gentleman
If it is written in the law book, than drivers should obey the law.
"It's illegal to hold and use a phone, sat nav, tablet, or any device that can send or receive data, while driving or riding a motorcycle. This means you must not use a device in your hand for any reason, whether online or offline. For example, you must not text, make calls, take photos or videos, or browse the web."
Let he who has never sinned cast the first stone.
Pre viewing comment: Just read your extensive description. This is going to be very interesting viewing. Thanking you in advance Mikey. Stay safe out there.
It's amazing that they instantly try to point out what you are doing wrong when they have an open phone call in hand
I don’t get what a postal strike has to do with these lodged online to the police? Why do they cancel them?
Cab drivers don't have to wear seatbelts?
Why don't you report motorcycles for being on the wrong side of the road in traffic
I couldn't read the text at the end ... it was covered by UA-cam recommendations!
@phillwainewright4221 .... If you use the full stop and comma keys you can move one frame at a time but it would be better Mikey if you edited this.
Oops, sorry about that. Yes, my mistake.
@@eastlancsdashcam Yes, I tried that but they pop up a frame before the text does!
@@phillwainewright4221 Mikey has moved the frames now so all is clear.
Imagine being such an idiot and try to defend people who are driving dangerously.
postal strike is frustrating as hell.
Penalty needs to change to £2,500 fine and 11 points as a minimum. The current arrangement is clearly not a deterrent.
So they all got away with it. That's depressing
yeah, just what i thought - apart from the taxi guy, a particularly bad crop, and especially that entitled cow at the end.
Did the driver of the small van you passed after the reckless motorcyclist passed you also have a lit screen?
Disgusting that the police don't do this. It's zero cost as the fines would easily cover the staffing.
Never fails to amaze me the level of entitlement people have who break the law, then feel they can berate someone catching them doing it!
Why don’t police send out emails for traffic notices? I think DVLA has that info?
Is it really that hard to get a phone mount really?
Gutted that that nasty Range Rover phone driver didn’t get her points.
Absolute epidemic of phone driving on the roads now.
Insta-bans needed NOW
Did they all get off because of the strike?
At 4:43 , was the driver giving Mikey the two finger salute..✌🤔🤭🙈
Why don't we just ban drivers some might learn
Excellent work yet again Mikey.... Very expensive life choice - easily avoided 😮🤷🤦♂️
Amazing how many people are seen. Looking down giving it away, never thought of that.
Typical entitled attitude.
I know it's the law.... but.... what is actually wrong with looking at or operating your phone in a line of traffic, sitting stationary?
Stationary phone drivers are still dangerous for many reasons:
1) The people using their phones when stationary are often the same people using them when moving. Being caught whilst stationary is a co-incidence, not a defence. It's easier for me to catch them when stopped, but so many were also seen using their phones when moving.
2) They are entirely unaware of people crossing the road around them. See here where a phone driver almost hits someone in the queue
twitter.com/phonekills/status/1491526464520560641?s=20
See this other tweet where a 5 year old child is almost hit by a phone driver who was stationary:
x.com/cmdkenyon/status/1724483042046067052?s=20
3) They are entirely unaware of filtering cyclists and motorcyclists, despite the Highway Code requiring us to be aware of this.
4) Phone distraction lasts for a good time after you put the phone away. Even if you're only using the phone in each traffic queue at each junction (which is highly unlikely), then you're constantly topping up your mental distraction and are basically as disabled as a drunk driver.
5) Phone driving is worse than drink driving for distraction rates, and that's why it's part of the #Fatal4 behaviours that police target heavily.
6) Here's a police officer telling you that he has been on the scene for 3 fatal RTCs involving drivers who were stationary whilst using their phones, and then moved off and caused a collision: twitter.com/markandcharlie/status/1604073330751197184?s=20&t=uj8sgu7spu4cTyDqqqds2g
7) Policing phone drivers will help them stop other traffic offences too - it's vanishingly rare that someone only breaks a single traffic law like mobile phone use.
8) Parliament recently chose to strengthen the mobile phone law around stationary phone use because it's dangerous and the science supports this.
I'm really not interested in this nonsense of "it's not dangerous when stationary, because it clearly is and it's clearly still very appropriate to catch these drivers
Great work Mikey ❤
postal strike is no excuse, whats it going to take for the police to act, does someone have to be seriously hurt or worse in an accident. Keep up the good work mikey.
Did you get a new camera around that time? I noticed in this video and a few past ones that the time is displayed in the bottom right, which wasn't the case previously. Or was it simply a system setting change to display it?
Keep up the good work, unless you glue the phone to their hand it is ALWAYS their fault, never feel guilty.
Shaniqua went off on Mikey.
