Hi it sound really noise free on acoustic, full and great on everything. What type of pre amp or cloudlifter are u using? I think im going to buy cheap!
Thanks! Never tried the t.bone RB 500... But I've tried the RM700 as room mics and they worked well. They are made to capture less high end than the RB 500, which I think is beneficial for taming the cymbals.
Hey just wanted to also note that the RB500 is quite a lot more boomy than the RM700. So in a room mic situation it can sometimes lead to unwanted lower resonance from the kick drum. It's easily EQd but just so you know
@@ghjkldss8421 They are very good. I use them all the time recording drum rooms and guitar cabinets. I even recorded vocals with them and turned out very good. I think they have less harsh highs than the rb500s.
In relation to other ribbons, it's not particularly dark. But it is darker than a condenser, which is kinda what you want in a ribbon mic. It does take EQ very well if you want to brighten it up, tho
I do, but not for everything. It's cool for vintage sounds and if you push the compression in the mix it sounds very juicy, but it doesn't have a whole lot of detail.
Good job! Am researching all levels of ribbon mics at the moment - your video shows you don't need to break the bank - thanks!
Thank you! Glad to help. ;)
Great stuff!

Hi! I'm using the preamp in the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8, it's quiet and transparent, which makes these demonstrations fair, I think. Cheers!
Hi! Nice video! Would you recommend a pair of this for drum room, instead a pair of RB 500-s?

@@dikkeskieven484 Thanks for the feedback, I ended up buying a pair of 700s back then, and they are very good.
@@sanc85I’m stuck between the Rm700 and Rb500. How has your experience with the 700 been ?

does it sound too dark compared to other mics?

do you recommend it for drum overheads

Hey man, what kind of preamp did you use for this mic?
The preamp from the Focusrite Scarlett 18i8. Cheers!
@@noisegunstudios thanks and great work man!!
