Drone images are incredible. You're right, looks like another planet. Otherworldly. Wow! Those aurora shots are beautiful. Super images. What a great roadtrip I'm having following you around. Another great video.
Looks like you really had a great time on this trip. Along, of course, with getting some fantastic images. And cable releases! Yea! We've really enjoyed following this adventure. Thanks.
Thanks Frank! It really was a great time. There's always more that I wish I'd seen and more photos I wish I took, but for my first time in the country I think it turned out just about perfect all things considered!
Loving this series Chris! As annoying as the lack of cable release was for the first couple of days, way way better than light leaks…. It’s great seeing you experiencing all these new things all at once. Thanks so much for sharing it with us.
Wow Chris! Spectacular shots! Diamond Beach is on my list of places to visit. If I can work it out, in a year or two I'll be seeing Iceland for myself. Thanks for sharing your work!
Thanks so much Ruthie, I hope you do make it over there. It's such a beautiful place and the diamond beach is just one of many incredible things to see in that area!
Great images Chris! This sounds like what I've learned from photographing areas during sunrise/sunset.... always, always stay longer and get there earlier than expected! It's never over haha!
Thanks Brian, I definitely agree. There have certainly been times when I watched the best light happen from the parking lot because I cut too early, haha
Let's face it Chris, you are going to have to do a bulk buy of cable releases and stick a few in every camera bag, then one with each camera and then add extra for when you misplace one. Its the only way to be sure 😂 Once again, great shots. I can't say which one is the best, they're all good
Your pronunciationajokull is getting better 🤣 You certainly covered a lot of miles and subjects. Great photos and your video really set the scene. I used to have a clockwork shutter release which was my back up.
Haha those Icelandic characters sure don't make it easy at all. That's a great idea on the shutter release, it hadn't occurred to me that mechanical delay triggers exist.. I may have to look into getting one!
Liking the diamond beach and you getting a SR cable! The more you see the aurora the more you'll be able to judge it, said nobody with experience LOL Lucky to see them here in the North of Scotland but usually quite weak but on a strong one they can be amazing. Enjoying the trip, roughly when were you there?
Thanks Andrew! I've been fortunate enough to see the aurora a few times since then but I got nothing close to as good as this first time, seems I'm getting worse at it, haha. This trip was back in September last year, but I went again this last March and those videos will be coming up soon 👍
The initial drone shot of the canyon is phenomenal. Did you use a grad nd for the provia shot of the glacier, or was the sky really dark? Either way, it's a great shot. UA-cam is really hating on you. This video was buried so deep it won't ever see the light of day. :-(
Thanks Tim! I don’t remember using a grad, I think it was just that clouded over above the glacier. Somehow I forgot to shoot any b-roll of the camera at that location so there’s no evidence of one anyway.. haha. I try not to worry too much about the algorithm but yeah it seems it’s still angry with me 🙃
Thanks Kyle, that's exactly right. That along with the benefit of not bringing a changing tent and film holders, but primarily because of airport security. I've heard of folks flying with sheet film so I know it can be done, perhaps I'll get brave enough to try it on a future trip and see what happens...
@@ChrisDarnell Thanks for the response mate! I guess you can’t really hand check a box so I guess it would have to be xrayed, I’ve had film scanned before and had no issues. Anyway the 6x12 images are looking awesome 👍
Thanks for taking all us for a great trip 😎
Thanks for watching Ken!
wonderful 🎉
Great ice images, Chris! I'm glad you're having fun. Thank you for sharing.
Always a pleasure, thanks for watching!

Thanks as always Jack!

Thanks Bernard, that’s very true haha. Light leaks are just the worst 😣 Thanks as always for watching!
Hey thanks for sharing. Great shots,
Thanks for watching Jeff!

Another solid video man, looks like a solid trip
Thanks Michael, it really was. Now I have to get to work on the winter trip!
I really liked tje shot ay 12:12 of the waterfall. The basalt pipes really make it interesting.
Thanks Dann! Agreed, the columns just make it seem like something out of gothic fiction to me!

Thanks Bob, that might be closer to the truth than I'd like to admit, haha. At least one in every piece of luggage from now on..
Chris I am a new subscriber and I am ebjoying your work!
Thanks so much James, and welcome!

Wonderful and who cares if it's been shot 1k times...
Thanks Randy, that's my thoughts as well. What really counts is whether or not you enjoy the process and the results 👍

@@ChrisDarnell March! We had some bonkers aurora then, Looking forward to that and to be honest everything in between :-)

Hey Chris great video! Is the reason your not shooting 4x5 the difficulty in getting boxed film through the X-ray machines? Cheers
