Hello from Tampa, Florida. My father is 101 years old and he and I love your videos. I am not religious either, but I enjoy the holidays. I hope you enjoy them too. Thank you for all you do for us.
Hi from Brazil. I’m so jealous that you have so nice tradicional street food. Here we don’t have street food. I always get hungry when I watch you eating. Thanks for sharing this kind of experience that enrich my daily life.
My wife & I are travel advisors so we watch dozens of travel vlogs. Judging by this video, this woman is better than most vloggers. She covered food, architecture, crafts, beverages, prices, weather. Filming & editing are good. Commentary is intelligent & informative. Music is tasteful. Interaction with local people is respectful & friendly. Unlike many travel vloggers, her enthusiasm is genuine & she doesn't act silly. I'm American & my wife is Chinese so we appreciate the dual language subtitles. Keep up the good work!

While I always enjoy Yan's videos, I also like reading the comments posted from everywhere from the world. The videos combined with the comments made this channel more attractive to me. Thanks Yan, and say Hi to everyone here.
No matter what the western negative narrative are about the Chinese system of government, I have to say that the government/local authorities are doing something right as you can see from the many of old villages and towns which are so neat, clean and well-maintained that are unlike the pictures shown in western media showing Chinese towns and villages with their dilapidated buildings and dirty pavements and streets. Thank you Yan for showing the real China.
I think. What you see may also be part of China. They are just photos from decades ago. Their purpose is to compete. In order to compete, they will not hesitate to lie and use photos from decades ago to deceive you. Our country has indeed brought a lot of benefits to the people because of its development over the past 20 years. The most important thing is that our Chinese culture teaches us to learn good things, replace bad things, and learn etiquette, justice and integrity. This is what enables us to develop so fast and let the West have things.
the ccp govt defintely has done a lot. this little ancient town is in rural guizhou province. guizhou province has been known as THE POOREST CHINESE PROVINCE for centuries due to its very rugged terrains and no easy access to the outside world. and rural guizhou is absolutely the poorest of them all in china. i am from taiwan. my grandparents moved from guangzhou to guizhou province with chinese nationalist govt's munition factory during ww2. my grandfather's income was considered good at the time bc he was an university chemist and adviser for that munition factory. yet my father kept telling me how difficulties his childhood was in guizhou province during ww2. can't think of what kind of hardships average guizhou natives had to endure back then. in year 2000, my father visited guiyang city from taiwan for the first time to look for his childhood place. after the trip, he told us guiyang city and guizhou province were still quite poor. in 2019, i accompanied my father to guizhou for his 2nd visit. my father told me guizhou in 2019 was totally unrecognizable from 19 yrs ago. i suppose chinese govt must have done a miracle in guizhou in the past 20 yrs. then i checked some internet info about guizhou. in the past 20 yrs, chinese govt has built thousands of miles of mountain highways, high speed rails, super tunnels, super bridges to connect all the little towns and cities in guizhou province. ( 80 out of 100 tallest mega-bridges in the world are in this province). all those mega-projects were not just expensive, but faced world class engineering difficulties. without infrastructure transformations, guizhou province must be as poor as before.....
Is it possible that what they are showing you are photos or videos from decades ago? Some time ago, I saw that the mainstream media in the United States were still deceiving Americans with video pictures of Chinese cities from 20 years ago. Needless to say, BBC, CNN, all Dark fake videos and fake news are just to make Westerners feel good about themselves. As for what China is really like, no one knows except those foreigners who work and study in China.😂
Wonderful video. For all the bad things on the internet, your work represents a truly valuable source of information and enlightenment. Thank you so much.
@gabaghoul__ exactly. Most that are commenting know nothing about historical heritage preservation in China. Yeah, there are dozens, maybe hundreds of nice looking historical towns in China that they constantly post online. But for such a massive country with such a rich history there should be thousands of preserved historical sites.
Had they not gone through the Cultural Revolution, they would have been able to preserve much much more. At least some of China's rich history survives
you have literally no idea how wrong you are. China destroyed practically every trace of its heritage in the period 1949-1990. Practically everything your see of the supposed 'ancient' China today was reconstructed in modern materials in the last 20 years. Even much of the famous Great Wall are modern reconstructions.
@@mrplease66 Plenty of historic Chinese artefacts still exist - China is a civilization that directly stretches back 3000 years Afterall. Yes sections of the Great Wall, especially the touristic attraction around Tianjin required intense reconstructive works, but that is because the wall is also centuries old in a freezing climate that was not maintained for centuries under the Qing either. That does not make it a facsimile reproduction. And many sections of the Great wall are still in bad condition, the structure is gigantic and in places made of weak adobe. Where the wall continued to be useful for defense, like the Shanhai Pass, it is extremely well preserved from history.
Chinese people are warm and hospitable, no matter where you come from. So when we go to another country, we feel a little uncomfortable and miss our own country very much. I live in Germany now, and people here are generally indifferent. When you go to a restaurant and you don't speak German, sometimes the staff doesn't even want to say a word and just throws you the menu and walks away. They won't even smile. On the contrary, the Chinese believe that treating guests as a city will attract repeat customers.

China's streets, whether in cities or remote rural areas, are kept very clean. China's infrastructure level far exceeds that of most developed countries. However, due to China's implementation of a socialist system, Western media have ideological biases against socialism and therefore have been spreading misinformation to Westerners. A superb videography bringing along the sight and sound of this part of rural China. Its almost like travelling with you to experience your adventure. I really like the music and aerial videography, it's well curated. Thank you for showing us this unique part of China, its culture food and everyday life.
It is actually better than Venice, given the scenery. Very interesting place, indeed very little known, good on you, Little Yan, finding these unexplored wonders in the ancient lands of the mighty dragon 😊 Another excellent video, indeed.
The store in the beginning and the place in general looks exactly like one I think of when I hear or read something about China and my god the lady with her child was absolutely heartwarming and welcoming😊
I wish the Chinese would get over the comparisons. This is not like Venice. It’s what it is: a beautiful water town. That’s great without comparison to a city elsewhere. Its beauty stands on its own. I will definitely put it on my list to visit. I’ve been to one of the smaller water towns near Shanghai and it was amazing.
she's NOT saying it's a replica or comparison purpose, it's that SHE's introducing this to foreign audience and the only reference point we have is Venice, which most westerners know about, so the video Headline is to get westerner viewers to click and watch, because we have no idea china has a 'Venice' style waterway town.
I agree. Zhenyuan is very famous among Chinese travellers and it's never been called China's Venice. She used the term China's Venice just as a convinient way to make Westerners understand what it's really like. Though I don't think the vibe of Zhenyuan is anything like Venice. Maybe Zhouzhuang, which is around Shanghai, is more like a venice type water town. @@kaleeysmith8801
Thank you for sharing all of these beautiful places. I’ve wondered for so long with the other parts of the world look like and I know we haven’t been able to see China on a global scale. I don’t understand about politics I just know God created all of us and that we are all brothers and sisters, and we need to act like that… but thank you for sharing this beautiful beautiful content.
Yes, we are all brothers and sisters. But look at U$. They just want to be big brother even though they were born after China and many other countries. To be big brother and to control everyone. Anyone that don't listen to his order to benefits him is considered against him and he will treat his brothers and sisters as enemy.
Hi, I have not been to Zhenyuan but much thanks to your rather educational and informative food vlog. It's truly a gem though not a hidden one. Zhenyuan is widely recognized one of the best ancient town in China. As you know, we have thousands of them across China and Zhenyuan is always rated among the TOP 5.
Nice documentary as always, i liked the part with the different flavored liquor, street food like crispy sticky rice, bayberries and of course the stunning ancient surroundings, PS, you had forgotten to mention that Fenhuang town is dating back into the 13 th century and is one of the famous old places kept alive in China. I had visited that place back in 2919 when I have been working in Shanghai
Fenghuang is more popular than this town due to a famous book called 围城. People in the City wanna to walk out, while people outside this city wants to walk in.
Just stumbled across this Chanel. What a wonderful video, such a beautiful town. I miss China! I was there in September, people are so friendly and considerate. Hopefully I’ll be back there next year, Keep up the great work 👍
At 18:35, the fruit is called Kadsura Dragon, or black tiger fruit (黑老虎,布福纳 Kadsura coccinea (Lem.) A. C. Smith), belonging to the Schisandraceae family in the Schisandra genus. It is an evergreen woody vine in the Kadsura genus. An exotic fruit with high nutritional value, Kadsura Dragon exhibits variations in the color, shape, and size of its fruits and leaves among different sub-species. The huge and beautiful fruit, resembling a colorful pineapple, can be as large as a softball or even larger. Despite being an uncommon south China fruiting vine, it has recently gained popularity in its native region.

lol. That is nonsense. Venice is way more historically significant with all those palaces and churches.
This is the hometown of one of the top mainland singer Charlie Zhou Shen . So picturesque this place.
This is Zhou Shen's hometown? Wow, I love Zhou Shen's singing!
Very interesting place, indeed very little known, good on you, Little Yan, finding these unexplored wonders in the ancient lands of the mighty dragon 😊 Another excellent video, indeed.
loong
When it is cold outside, why are you not wearing your nice winter beanie? It's winter ☃️❄️
I wouldn't say that. Venice is a very special place.
The store in the beginning and the place in general looks exactly like one I think of when I hear or read something about China and my god the lady with her child was absolutely heartwarming and welcoming😊
This is a very beautiful village in China. This village is a wonderful place in China. Nice video👌
Amazing. Thank you for taking us along. ❤ love your detoured plans. Good thinking not to hike during the rain.
你们两的观点都没错😂自己找个心理平衡点
@@kaleeysmith8801I actually agree with both of you😅
The people who started building these houses hundreds of years ago, no one knew what Venice was.
Those buildings are so historic and beautiful. Right on the water. Too cool love, love this ❤
Thank you very much for bring out the unseen China in view. Fascinating
I'm so thankful for this channel, it's a GEM
To me the best part is always to be introduced to people's everyday life, their food and customs. Thank you.
Greetings Miss Yan & TEAM. Thanks You so much. It's really breathtaking and mesmerizing. So thanks again and Happy Holidays To You & Team & Love ONES.
We are just a few thousands generations apart, all cousins :)
Get to view the nooks and corners of this rustic town with the pulse of the local inhabitants, culture ,food and its historical infrastructure of the oriental "Venice of China". Kudos to your great effort to share this and have a safe and memorable adventure in your travels moving forward . God bless🙏
We Chinese have a very famous saying. Long live the great unity of the people of the world,You are welcome to come to China as a guest when you have time. I can host you if you are lucky.
China's streets, whether in cities or remote rural areas, are kept very clean. China's infrastructure level far exceeds that of most developed countries. However, due to China's implementation of a socialist system, Western media have ideological biases against socialism and therefore have been spreading misinformation to Westerners. Rumors are often used to slander China. Every foreigner who travels to China will find that he has been deceived by the Western media.
Thanks, Little Chinese, Your use of the drone gives another view on China, also you test the local vendors on the types of food and all offering a test try. As for a city like Venice, I think that you have shown that it is a beautiful city with rivers to enhance it, take care and travel safe. from New Zealand.
My sisters and I are planning a trip to China where our ancestors are from. Your videos help us to put a list of places to visit. Theres just too many beautiful places in China. Tq for your videos. There r awesome
Do you know what really impressed me, the absence of trash.. So crowded yet so clean.....
I second thst...Yan brought us to ruler areas and yet No Trash ....Amazing.
I really like your style of showing things from your country, avoiding to talk about politics, which is somehow always present in the videos of most UA-camrs.
I live next to Venice, Italy, which is a completely different thing, if you want to visit it, I could give you some hints.
Wow so beautiful country china is
Love from India 🇮🇳💜

What a beautiful place. It did remind me of the small villages in Italy that I have walked through. China is such a diverse country and I love how many of the outer areas still preserve their heritage. Thanks again Yan for a spectacular video. ❤

All those drone takes are so nice!
That town looks so pretty! That fruit looked so interesting too! And the food sounds yummy!
Walk Eat channel has walking tour of this town at night, I think. I was so impressed by that night view so I remembered this town s name
Glory be, how can that be!!?? Such a hidden gem, not logged much, thank you Yan. I can only dream on but thanks to you, can only visualise the sceneries and ambience!! 👍👍👏👏
This town is not Fenghuang Cheng, though
Fenghuang is in Hunan province, while Zhenyuan is in Guizhou province.
Beautiful and super clean little town. Also the river is so beautiful and clean without any floating rubbish. This reflects on the hygienic and cleanliness of the Chinese culture
Probably my most favorite travel show with the best host! From the places, food & people you have shown, I could easily spend the rest of my days just wandering through China taking in as much as humanly possible. 感谢Yan🌹
This place reminds me of the spirit town of the film Spirited Away, the food and lights reflecting on water.
I think Miyazaki did actually say he took inspiration from Chinese towns, there's a particular place but I can't remember which. Someone let us know please! 😊
