At the moment I am staying outside bejing about 35 minutes by built train in a small town with my girlfriend. Very interesting see how people live and the difference between the west. Her flat is the same size as the one your staying in. I think it's worth 100,000 and rent would be £250 - £300 a month. Lots of restaurants food and drink so cheap. Lunch £7 DINNER £14. I am the only westerner in the town. The town comes a live at night people out doing stuff, dancing singing in the street shopping. Winter the river froze over last year and ice skating on the ice.
The gourd is a Daji Hulu, a good luck gourd. I'm thinking the red banners on people's doors are the slogans they write on red paper/ fabric wishing good luck, etc, on the home in the new year. (I'm also a Chinese language learner and look forward to when i can visit the country). Loved this video and just subscribed to your channel. Xie Xie nimen!
Beijing houses are different from other big cities because there are all government departments in Beijing, and 30 years ago, most houses benefited from this. So, the local older generation will have at least one house for a child. Your apartment is not new and is lower than 6 floors without an elevator. The elevator for the other gate, which you are showing, is a project from the government to help seniors living in these kinds of buildings.
Yea, typical old buildings, it was super cheap back then 2000 , only take 10000 dollars to buy it in 2001 because it doesn’t have elevator, those elevators were added in the last 10 years by the government. But most of foreigners don’t know how cheap in some small cities in northern China, some are just 5000 dollars to buy it
Yes, Beijing housing is different due to the concentration of government agencies, many families benefit from old policies. Old buildings under 6 floors without elevators are popular with the older generation. The elevator project for the elderly is a positive step forward.
Very interesting, and I am amazed at the level of chinese you guys mastered already. Obviously, I saw three vids, but more days than that have passed, I know that. But still.
Wangjing is an expensive area, Volkswagen, Mercedes, bytedance(TikTok) and many other big companies’ headquarters are in Wangjing. The rent for that apartment is probably at least 8k yuan($1200). you can hardly get a one bedroom apartment in Wangjing for $600. Average income in Beijing is slightly above 11k yuan, though there are many people making over 30k per month. So rental prices actually align better with average income than purchase prices. Housing prices in Beijing are inflated
Living in the states , the cost of housing can vary from region to region. for example for the west coast is amongst the highest . A two bedroom apt. can set you back $2500 - $ 3500 a month . On the east coast it's between $1900- $3000 . The costs are ever changing. The middle of the country between $ 1800 - 2800 These are rental costs. The average cost of a home where we (Richmond, Va.) is $300,000- $400,000. Your place looks quiite nice . A great find, a great video guys ! Sending love and affection😍😍 from Harriet, Jim and Yuki Richmond, Va.
Actually, a two bedroom condo or apartment to rent somewhat near the beach in Los Angeles County, California can easily set you back presently $3,500-7,000 a month and a home to rent can easily cost near the beach, $8-12,000 a month for something nice. If the location is run down or ill kept, then less. In spite of the ups and downs of real estate, prices overall seem to just keep going up here. So, a place here in a nice area can easily cost $50,000+ a year rent on the lower end near but not on the beach, and a little less, perhaps $35,000+ a year well inland for a small home to rent. Remember this is after paying your income tax, so in real earned income before taxes, one would have to earn $50,000 to well over $200,000 just to pay the rent before taxes, besides food and basic living expenses. I am not even talking about higher end luxury accommodations. There are some very interesting income disparities between peoples incomes with advanced degrees (teachers, social workers) that can be economically terrifying. Maybe a good tent under an overpass may not be such a bad idea. :) It would seem that without a two income family, finding a nice place to live in Southern California can be very tricky. Roommates anyone? It would appear that many people are just waiting for their parents to die. Sad!
Thanks for the tour of the apartment. It wouldn't be the best place for someone with an obsessive-compulsive disorder. For me it would be great. I was struck by the big lock on the front door, especially since I don't think there would be much insecurity there. I didn't imagine that houses in Beijing were so expensive. I hope to see Julia's calligraphy someday!! Love to both of you from Sasha!!
I am loving the set up of the flat's and that tea set up. I want one of them lol. I hope the classes are going well. That's 820,500 almost mansion mega house price for here in the states. That is a huge amount to pay for a flat. I'm just as shocked as you both are. Wow!! Then the mortgage on top of that! Yikes. I also love the fact that they are installing elevators. To make the flats more accessible to everyone. This was so informing I loved it. See you next time! Be safe have fun!
Not sure where you live, but where I live in the USA, Seattle, it is common for homes to cost over 1 million. I live in a very modest home, 2 bedrooms, 1.5 baths, 1075 square feet in Seattle and it is valued at $675,000
@@lynniew7376 Here in NJ it is 200,000 or less for most homes least around me. Some can reach as high as 500,000 but they are more in the wealthier cities suburban areas.
Just to compare prices here in Daytona Beach Florida for a new one bedroom apartment approximately 780 ft.² can run from $1200 up to $1700, plus the renter pays for electricity and sometimes also the water and Internet. All of those could run another $300 a month. It was lots of fun to watch your video. Wonderful you two can have such an adventure.
I shall start to watch you regularly now as this was so interesting, I live near London and £600 rent is very very cheap , I know a fella at work pays more than that for a room within a house in Watford . Very good video and good information Thankyou
Current rental prices for a nice 3 bedroom apartment in Colorado Springs runs from $1,700 to $3,000 a month. That will include some form of assigned parking, not covered, but near the apartment. The complexes are usually three to five floors - ungated. No security, no playground, no exercise area, but will probably have a common area including an outdoor pool. Apartments with a view are more expensive - obviously. A view of the parking lot - cheaper. Apartments are rarely furnished unless being sublet by the owner. Newer complexes will have an elevator. Some have balconies. Trash removal, snow removal, and maintenance are included. Rental contracts can be for 6 months to a year at a time. Expect an increase in rent to renew your lease.
About 8 years ago, I saw the price of a New York City studio (one large room with a bathroom, no separate bedroom), that was 16 feet x 20 feet for $750,000.
Your videos always amaze me with their professionalism and depth of treatment of the topic. Thank you for your dedication and passion for creativity!😸🍾🛩
In San Jose California a typical 2bed 2bath condo around downtown would cost about 900K. If you want to buy an average 1350sqft 3bed 2bath single family house with a driveway, garage, front, and backyard the cost is about $1.4M and up. Keep in mind that mortgage interest rates in California is around 7% of that $1.4M loan. You also have to pay a yearly properly tax which is about 1.3% of that $1.4M purchase price or about 18.6K every year.
The wiring in that building is scary to say the least. The apartment is a very comfortable size but showering would take some getting used to. I love the quit you were given to use, it's really cute. Yikes, the cost of the apartment in enormous. Something like that here in Ontario Canada would cost between $600,000 to $900,000 depending on the area you buy in and the quality of the apartment. I think the incomes here are higher than they are in China.
I live in Tongzhou, a small town near Nantong, Jiangsu. The rent for my modern 2 bed apartment is ¥1300. The community is only 7 years old and I’ve been here for 6, rent has not increased since I moved here. I couldn’t get a room in a shared house for that in Leeds UK where I’m from.
Don't simply retire from something; have something to retire to. Start saving, keep saving, and stick to investments. Everyone should have BTC in their portfolio.
It’s really heartbreaking to see how inflation and recession impact low-income families. The cost of living keeps rising, and many struggle just to meet basic needs, let alone save or invest. It’s a reminder of the importance of finding ways to create financial opportunities. You've helped me a lot sir Brian! Imagine i invested $50,000 and received $190,500 after 14 days
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Brian C Nelson.
Julia I found you on the Great British baking show . I knew I recognized you did a great job I enjoyed watching you there as well as in this new series. Blessings from New Mexico
That thing on the window seal called: 葫芦, here is the google result: 'gourd, any of the hard-shelled fruits of certain members of the gourd family, Cucurbitaceae. Many gourds are cultivated as ornamentals, decorations, or food crops, and some can be dried and used to make decorative or useful objects.'
Like I’d know, but you both seem to be doing well with Mandarin. Glad you’re not shying away from using it and talking to people! I absolutely love that tea-making device! I think I need one!! Lastly, here’s something a bit humorous: when I watch your videos I say things out loud and make remarks. My husband said to me one day, “Who are you talking to?” And I said, “Oh, Matt and Julia.” He told me, “You do know they can’t hear you?!” 🤣🤣
In Chinese culture, there’s a strong preference for owning property rather than renting. This cultural mindset contributes to low rental prices but extremely high property purchase costs.
The red banner have auspicious phrases such as wishing one’s family harmony or good luck or good fortune.Usually such banners are put on the doors outside of the unit or on the walls of the house .
Another thing about China's housing policy is that if you have a job, both employee and employer have to pay "5+1" social insurance, the "1" called "Housing Provident Fund," 5% for both employee and employer and tax-free. When employees need to buy a house, they can withdraw the funds, and also, if they have this account, the mortgage rate is lower than a regular mortgage.
Housing prices in Shenzhen are about 1.07 times those in Beijing, while housing prices in the neighboring city of Hong Kong are about 2.1 times those in Shenzhen. No matter in terms of absolute prices or the ratio of per capita income to housing prices, Hong Kong (No. 1), Shanghai (No. 2), Shenzhen (No. 3), Beijing (No. 4), Macau (No. 5), Guangzhou (No. 6) and Taipei (No. 7) are all cities with the highest housing prices in China, and are almost the highest in the world, reflecting the rapid growth of China's economy in recent years. Most of the wealth of Chinese people is deposited in houses, which is also a heavy burden for young people.
I live near Vancouver in Canada, it is one of the most expensive cities in Canada and I pay just under $1700 month for rent. So if they are paying around $2000 a month for mortgage payments, it’s not far off rents in Vancouver. Although my rent is in the middle range for prices. Downtown Vancouver can be as high as $3500 a month.
@ mine is a one bedroom, so 2 bedrooms is at least double the cost, but that would be in Canadian $$ so would be less because of exchange rate. $7000 is definitely a lot though. Vancouver definitely isn’t the most expensive city for sure.
most people actually own their own place. the people who buy/rent are younger generation moving out of their family homes after getting good jobs in perhaps a different city. in beijing before everything was built up, it was mostly hutongs owned by locals. the government gave a lot of them huge sums plus a high rise apt to move out so the area could be developed so perhaps a share of the people who live in your area own apts as compensation for selling their hutong residences. I heard the amount given were in the range of a million usd so that's why locals say if the government wants to build up your area, you hit the lottery 😂. rent also typically seems cheaper because people who have money get extra apts and rent them out. this was part of the real estate craze that went on during the past couple decades. to stem speculation and a dangerous real estate bubble, the government put a restriction on the number of apts one can own in excess of their primary residence.
I live in salt lake City Utah and a nice home in a nice area, not overly Extravagant, would be about the same as the flat you showed. In 2020 we bought a home in a bit less desirable part of SLC with 4 bedrooms and two baths and a large backyard was 312k$ and that was a deal. Now it goes for over 500k$ Most one bedroom apartments in any area of salt lake City is between 1200$ and 1700$ .
That object in the window is an edible plant (gourd) when fresh. After drying out it becomes an ornament. And is considered good feng shui for the home.
I'm from Canada. Toronto condos are very expensive also. Buying i think is comparable or more to the price you mentioned... and smaller- a 1 bedroom. Rent is also expensive.
I’m originally from Sydney Australia and now live in British Columbia Canada (2hrs from Vancouver) and an apartment of that size in both cities would be priced at well over $1million and much higher than that in certain parts of those cities.
Where I live in Spain is very cheap compared to other countries like the UK where I am from. You can buy a lovely 3 bedroomed detached house, with a pool for less than 250,000 euros. Those are the older properties but a new one, again with its own pool and maybe 4 bedrooms will be around 400,000 euros. We are about 10 mins drive from the coast in a beautiful area with mountains behind us. If you have a lower budget then you can get a lovely 2/3 bed house for about 120,000 for a detached older property, or 140,000 for a larger terrace with a communal pool. There isn't much in the way of long term rental as most is holiday rental, which is quite expensive.
From my point of view that the price of real estate in Beijing is not expensive. If the apartment that you showed to us cost only around 800,000 pounds, my flat in HK, about half the size of yours, it cost me $45,000,000 (HK dollars). So, it is not expensive at all to buy an apartment in Beijing. BTW, I live in suberb area of Hong Kong, not even near the down town area. We have a much better interior decoration here in Hong Kong.
When I was living in Changsha, Hunan. We were paying about 3K yuan a month for a 4 bedroom apartment. We were not in the city center but we were close to the underground to get to where you needed. This was in 2017
I went to Beijing in July. The heat was crazy compared to back at home in England! Everytime I walked out of my apartment, I was drenched in sweat. Are the insects noisy as always in autumn/winter😆?
I'm favoured only God knows how much I praise Him, $230k every 4weeks! I now have a big mansion and can now afford anything and also support God’s work and the church.
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
I remember giving her my first saved up $20000 and she opened a brokerage account with it for me, it turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.
To buy a house in China, you only need to pay the property tax for the first time, and then you don't need it every year. The price of houses in first-tier cities is about this, such houses in second-tier cities are about 200,000 US dollars, and it is estimated that such houses in smaller cities are about 10,000 US dollars. Special tourist cities are not included.😊😊
J&M those pumpkins like are "cucurbita siceraria", belong to that botanical family. The seeds are numerous, gray, flattened and elliptical in shape; Its interior is white, with a sweet and oily flavor. The shape of the fruit varies widely, from more or less regular globes to bottle shapes or twisted cylinders. These ones are full of seeds 😊
I think that letting some strangers into your apartment, people who could leave the country at any time.. involves a fair bit of risk. That risk should be included in the price as well.
I’m from a small city which is called Guangyuan, and it’s located in the north of Sichuan province. I think you need to pay around 500,000 yuan which is like 80,000 usd to buy a 100 sqm apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
I live in Shenzhen, my flat cost about 180k per sqm, and my girlfriend's cost staggering 280k per sqm, so I think it is safe to say that my parents will approve our relationship since she owns a much bigger and expensive flat than mine, and will "give me a good life". lol
You are able to adapt to just about any accommodation; situation; challenge. Thanks for the visit of your home for a month. 600 euros per month for rent is incredibly cheap if it were the entire place. For the small room you have: too much IMHO. I'm not clear on the cost FOR you... may need to listen again! And will, with great pleasure. Rock on Matt and Julia! Merci.
Actually, you should learn Chinese in Yangshuo. Yangshuo has many Chinese education institutions, and the cost is much cheaper than Beijing. Accommodation and meals are also very affordable
You asked what thesis ? It's Huolou which is a type of a dried calabash used for keeping alcohol It's seen as an auspicious symbol and is thought to bring luck to it's bearer.
Wouldn't pay that. We bought a brand new 133 square meter condo on the 17th floor in Rongcheng Shandong, and it will end up costing us about 250,000 USD fully completed and furnished. But we are retired and don't need to live in the big city and have a high paying job. Thanks for sharing, and continued good luck to you.
Property prices in the largest Chinese cities are extremely high but like you say the rent is relatively not that expensive. If you want to buy a property though in large cities along the eastern cost you need a lot of money.
Sound activated lights seem intrusive. If you get home late and want the lights on you have to make noise and you'll end up disturbing your neighbours.
I live in vancover wa....and we have a 3 bedroom 2 bath 1200 sq ft Apartment and we pay 2200 And that's actually super inexpensive here! Also all the Apartments in our complex decorated for the holidays on there doors 😊
Rent in Beijing and Shanghai is crazily expensive. Try other cities like Nanning etc in the south the rent will be much much lower and more modern. Beijing apartments is a bit old and lights in the alleyway is activated by sound.
If I am not wrong, in 13.50 , that should be a Chinese gourd which is used to carry water, wines or beverages. In mandarin it sounds like Hu which means symbolises ‘ protection’. U can see from the game black myth wukong, wukong drinks healing potion from his gourd when health bar is low.
The homeowners have to agree to pay to install an elevator. That is why the entire complex doesn't have elevators. Getting homeowners to pony up is not easy. And the people on the first and 2nd floors will probably refuse to contribute. Democracy in action...
Interesting video (like all are), what is the reason for such heavily barred windows and security doors??? Was this a high crime area in the bast or now? If not for crime, what would be a different reason?
Actually, I compared the price of that 3BR apartment/condo to some of the 3BR currently being offered in the capital of the Philippines, i.e. Manila. In fact, it's a bit more expensive actually in Manila costing more than 60+M Philippine Pesos or around 1.01M USD compared to Beijing, yet the quality of service, life and pay is not even comparable here in Manila. It's very much worse in Philippines in terms of cost of property here.
At 13:57. If it's what I think it is, here in the US (hello from California) we call those gourds. We use them to decorate during the Fall. Earlier in the video you mention the changing leaves so I bet the people China may decorate with gourds the way Ameican do this time of year. I have a question and you may find it strange but tell me, do the windows open up and down or in and out in China? I ask because it was one of the things that bugged the ship out of me when living in Europe where so many apartment windows open inward. Why anyone thinks it's a good idea to have a window open inward thus further limiting your living space is beyond me. I love the apt, the kitchen and nature outside he kitchen window. I didn't love the bathrooms because they reminded me of Europe, which, in my case is ten times worse than the ones in this video. Thanks for the show.
From my perspective there are many cities in China with a better quality of life than Beijing. About prices, I know Xuzhou city, where a quite decent apartmamet can cost about 150.000-200.000 € and where you can also get cheaper apartments, and big discounts in apartments being under construction nowadays
When I graduated from college I was offered 3 good jobs with approximately the same pay. For approximately the same cost I could rent a 1 room flat in Boston MA vs. a small 2 bedroom house in Western MA vs a 1 bedroom apartment in Connecticut. Since I just graduated from a college in Western MA and considering housing, I stayed here renting a house.
Being from California, that US $800,000+ price for the flat is SO CHEAP! Brought a studio condo in San Francisco few years ago with 480 square feet for US $630,000! Your Beijing flat looks like 4x larger, WHAT A BARGAIN! That size in my neighborhood will go for around US $2 Million
The chinese guy: 75 , She 28, him 31 , the chinese guy: ok ...two of you added up are younger than me...lovely...now i need a moment alone.🤣 BTW, when you asking someone's age whom apparently older than you, you should ask: ”您贵庚啊?or您多大年纪了?or 您多大岁数了?etc.“ which are much more respectful. (as in chinese culture, elderly are respected in general) when you use:"你多大了?“ its normally only to a kid or someone nearpeer.
What are property prices like in your city/town compared to Beijing? 🤔❤️

Yeah, that actually seems reasonable to me. By 70 years, I assume the mortgage passes down the generations. This will likely happen in the UK I suspect.
It is more like a 70 year lease, I believe.
You two are so brave doing this and you are doing well with your Chinese!! Impressive. 👍

In Manhattan, one-bedroom costs you at least $3500 to $4000.
Sad!
@@m.newman7722 We are talking the sketchy side of town
Real estate in China does not require additional annual property tax
I’m with you on the tidying up thing. My home is loved …. and lived in, in all its unvarnished glory.
I shall start to watch you regularly now as this was so interesting, I live near London and £600 rent is very very cheap , I know a fella at work pays more than that for a room within a house in Watford . Very good video and good information Thankyou
Glad you found it interesting 🥰 Lots of love to you 🇬🇧❤️
Current rental prices for a nice 3 bedroom apartment in Colorado Springs runs from $1,700 to $3,000 a month.
Absolutely! Profits are possible, especially now, but complex transactions should be handled by experienced market professionals.
Some persons think inves'tin is all about buying stocks; I think going into the stock market without a good experience is a big risk, that's why I'm lucky to have seen someone like mr Brian C Nelson.
Finding yourself a good broker is as same as finding a good wife, which you go less stress, you get just enough with so much little effort at things
Brian demonstrates an excellent understanding of market trends, making well informed decisions that leads to consistent profit

Very interesting. Now I see the really ordinary Beijing family residence. Thank you for sharing.
The red banner have auspicious phrases such as wishing one’s family harmony or good luck or good fortune.Usually such banners are put on the doors outside of the unit or on the walls of the house .
I had low expectations based on the stairway in the building but inside the apartment things improved drastically!
Beautiful view from your kitchen (which is amazing) 😍👌
So cheap in Vancouver! My daughter rents a 2 bedroom 2 bath condo for US $7,000/month
Now it goes for over 500k$
Most one bedroom apartments in any area of salt lake City is between 1200$ and 1700$ .
That object in the window is an edible plant (gourd) when fresh. After drying out it becomes an ornament. And is considered good feng shui for the home.
Check out the houses in the slums of beijing called Hutongs they are worth half to a million pounds each.
love the apartment! it feels like home ❤
I'm from Canada. Toronto condos are very expensive also. Buying i think is comparable or more to the price you mentioned... and smaller- a 1 bedroom. Rent is also expensive.
I’m originally from Sydney Australia and now live in British Columbia Canada (2hrs from Vancouver) and an apartment of that size in both cities would be priced at well over $1million and much higher than that in certain parts of those cities.
they look like new year decorations outside the doors
Ah okay, a little late (or early!) 😁❤️
@@MattandJuliamaybe they're not frequently inhabited😂😂
That flat is very affordable even in Beijing.
That is crazy, shows how expensive the city is overall 😮❤️
Thank you for sharing ❤xxx
When I was living in Changsha, Hunan. We were paying about 3K yuan a month for a 4 bedroom apartment. We were not in the city center but we were close to the underground to get to where you needed. This was in 2017
I went to Beijing in July. The heat was crazy compared to back at home in England! Everytime I walked out of my apartment, I was drenched in sweat. Are the insects noisy as always in autumn/winter😆?
Fair play to you - you seem to have cracked the language !!!
I'm favoured only God knows how much I praise Him, $230k every 4weeks! I now have a big mansion and can now afford anything and also support God’s work and the church.
Wow that's huge, how do you make that much monthly?
Only God knows how much grateful i am. After so much struggles I now own a new house and my family is happy once again everything is finally falling into place!!
I'm 37 and have been looking for ways to be successful, please how??
I earn from investing in the digital market with the guidance of (Ms. Evelyn Vera) Brokerage services. I'm happy to talk about it!!!
Many residential buildings don't have
an elevator, very inconvenient,
especially
for the elderly!
Respected.
Willing to learn and exchange culture.
All the best to your future works in china.
I think that letting some strangers into your apartment, people who could leave the country at any time.. involves a fair bit of risk. That risk should be included in the price as well.
“ you cheeky little gingerbread man” 😂😂😂
Gloal phenomenal, rental is exponetially high New York London, Geneva, Bonn, Luxemburg ,Singapore,Shanghai
No kiss ? Amazing video as usual ! Xx
I’m from a small city which is called Guangyuan, and it’s located in the north of Sichuan province. I think you need to pay around 500,000 yuan which is like 80,000 usd to buy a 100 sqm apartment with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
YOU SHOULD GET THE TRANSLATION EAR BUDD OR THE PEN ,IT WILL HELP WITH COMMUNICATION
I live in Shenzhen, my flat cost about 180k per sqm, and my girlfriend's cost staggering 280k per sqm, so I think it is safe to say that my parents will approve our relationship since she owns a much bigger and expensive flat than mine, and will "give me a good life". lol
Hahaha, love this! Cheers to the good life 😀🍻
You are able to adapt to just about any accommodation; situation; challenge.
Yes,it is expensive like LA property.
They are well water and wine bottles. I have seen this in every chinese historical drama series.
Property prices in the largest Chinese cities are extremely high but like you say the rent is relatively not that expensive. If you want to buy a property though in large cities along the eastern cost you need a lot of money.
Just in a side note: in Luxembourg City you would be that double the amount you mentioned. Granted, with better amenities.
I like Chinese apartment
Sound activated lights seem intrusive. If you get home late and want the lights on you have to make noise and you'll end up disturbing your neighbours.
I live in vancover wa....and we have a 3 bedroom 2 bath
1200 sq ft Apartment and we pay 2200
And that's actually super inexpensive here!
I'm in Xiamen for 13 years...never paid rent, apartment comes with the job...I cross the street and go to work!
Home is definitely where your bed is !
Indeed, it really is 😁❤️
If I am not wrong, in 13.50 , that should be a Chinese gourd which is used to carry water, wines or beverages.
I think it’s because there used to be thefts. Nowadays it’s very rare.
It's very much worse in Philippines in terms of cost of property here.
you got to try beijing 's famous noodle 炸酱面
This channel is much better than watching BBC
Is there a ground rent on top of the mortgage?
Daughter renting a 2 bedroom condo for US $7,000/month near Santa Monica, CA, in Brentwood. A mortgage in less desirable city can be less than that🙄
Tried the Mockba restaurant near the zoo?
