GET IT STARTED AND RUNNING. PUT ON A PART TWO PLEASE. WE ARE ASKING FOR IT. THANKS.
Thank you for saving me an hour
I'm 44 and in Massachusetts. That car has been for sale since since I was in my teens. In the Want Ads, and the papers. Always wondered who would be dumb enough to buy it.
Two guys and a youtube channel.
Hell yea I want to see more, need a round number 2 on getting it running.
Yes just subscribed… need more on this car please
Love to see this car running and also see it cleaned up and looking smart again, it's got kool body lines, can't be many of this type of car around, should be worth a few bob to the ryt person, keep up the good work guy's 👍
That comment spoiled the video for me...
Definitely get this running. You don't come across these every day.
So, I've been watching this car on Marketplace for yeeeeeeeeeears. I live in MA and have contemplated getting it myself many times. Couldn't believe when this popped up on my UA-cam page! That was a valiant effort! You'll get it running, no doubt. Would love to see it running and driving! Good luck!!!
Same here man in southern nh!
Haha southern nh here also@@Timothy-Goyette
@@brianseeley7376 I remember when the car was in the Want Ads lol
I dunno , man. You got it on the trailer. It makes more sense to tow it home and work on it there, where you have power, proper tools, and can run somewhere for parts.
Call “Jennings motor sport” he’s gonna make this old girl running in no time 😂
Hear hear!! Love that guy 😄
OMG, you echoed my thinking. Jennings could probably get this puppy runnin'
I admire your persistence to get it running by working through the night. 😊
*your
Correct🙂
Lug nuts on driver's side are reverse threaded. You can not use them on the passenger side wheels.
Was about to write this exact comment. There’s a reason a bunch are missing. They’re rare nowadays.
Hell yeah I'd like to see it cleaned up and running. I'd watch a full resto series on that car. Very cool. I also like how you guys keep each other laughing through the struggle.
How am I 20mins into this video, and y'all still haven't done anything?
Coming from the guy sitting on the couch watching…
Yet what a work followed after 😂...
If that car was in commercial service (I'd say it was based on the heavy gauge vinyl seats front and rear, no a/c this wasn't a millionaires ride) it has a LOT of miles on it. It probably ran all day every day for years.
There used to be lots of them at airports every where .
@@Mercmad Right. It's what's called an Airport Limousine. Not for luxury, but to shuttle people to airports.
@@UberLummoxA shuttle bus before there were shuttle busses lol
it wasn't a limousine - it was an airport shuttle car - it would take you from the airplane to the terminal (before walkways were invented)
Commonly called airport limousines.
@@seed_drill7135 ....REALLY ?? ... in my book. they're called "airport shuttles" ... i try to help you - but you want to be an @$$hole
More like from the hotel to the airport.
I guess you have never heard of an airport limousine? Some of them even had more doors than this one
Ewww ah hell NOOOOO as soon as he said spider webs everything I would be gone!
I learned to drive in my mom's 1963 Plymouth Belvedere. It had that same push button transmission. There is a "Park" lever to the left of the buttons and it is in Park when the lever is down. You can't push any of the gear selection buttons with it in "park". Once you start the car, lift the Park lever to the up position, and then press the "Drive" button to put in gear and drive forward. When you want to park, come to full stop and move the park lever back to the down position (the gear select button will automatically move to the "Neutral" selection). Oh, and the gas tank filler was behind the rear license plate which was spring loaded and flipped down for access.
I love to to see old cars like this brought back to life. Where are you going to find a car like this anywhere else unless you really look
Man, those 413s made 340 HP and 470 ft lb of torque. I have a feeling with the amount of rust on that one cylinder that the rings will never be able to seal against it, so it might be down a hole, but that's a great engine for the time.
From where you started...that was an amazing attempt to get it running! Hats off to you guys in your determination!
After seeing the damage in that engine I was surprised you even tried to get it to run. That is totally crazy. I just subscribed...lol
Hopefully you will continue trying to get it running, and make another video on it.
I would love to see that limo running. Well done guys, keep up the good work 👍
It is illogical to leave out the most interesting parts of the effort. If the car magically jump on the trailer, you should have made a video of it.
Put there in '03 stopped driving in 73.
The 361 used a 2 barrel carb and the 413 used a 4 barrel. The New Yorker being top of the line used the 413.
I was just gonna say, good on ya.
You are correct Mr. Skate.
There were 4bbl 361 in some applications, as well as 2bbl 413 available in trucks.
Probably a Max Wedge experimental car. 🙄
NOT 100% TRUE
"Shes a beaut Clark"
You _think_ you hate it now, wait 'til you drive it....
I noticed that there was an old airline catering truck behind the car . Truck #4362. I used to drive them at TPA
Holey cow. Someone finally bought it, its been advertised for sale for 20 years. I looked at that car in the early 2000nds. Its exactly where it was then and the hood was folded up allready.
That’s crazy. He told us he drove it to that spot in 03. 🤷♂️ I have never seen an engine that locked up.
Yeah I remember seeing this for sale in the WantAds magazine. When that used to be a thing
it's too bad people will sit on something and let it rot rather than lower their price.
More, more, more. We want to see more.
"How does it smell ?"
- Like a low budget nursing home.
🤣
As soon as he threw those keys on the roof I thought "Oh oh there go the keys he's not gonna remember those and then later he'll be lookin!" LOL. Maybe not but we'll see.
I love these videos. They end up bringing old classic vehicles back to life again that would have otherwise just rusted away to be forgotten forever.
Not gonna lie, I was actually going to run up and buy that! I bought a rusty 65 New Yorker with 412,000 miles on it instead though, and it wiped my bank account out.
Small world, I've been staring at that thing on Marketplace for at least a year. Glad somebody snagged it, I was sure it was going to scrap. Cheers from NH.
Where it should be lol I. The crusher.
In 1963 the New Yorkers came with the 413 wedge 340 horse big Block I believe. Very cool and awesome find.
Valiant effort gentleman!
I just found this thing sitting at EZ pull & save in New Ringgold PA
I'd love to see this beast running and driving again!
Like to see it running for sure. First of your videos I have seen.
There is a flat area for stamped letters n numbers. It is at front driver side (opposite of the distributer). If you are standing in in front of the grill/rad it is just to the right and a bit aft of the water neck/thermostat housing. It is a horizontal surface at about the same level as the block wall. If it is a 413 it be stamped T-41. T= 1963, 41 = 413, 1963 383 = T-38. 1963 361 would be T-36. These were hand punched and were not always very deep--may need to scrub clean to see. For block casting info (year etc.) you need to remove the starter.
Looks like a 413, I see that flat area on the front.
Great effort, great video, great sense of humour! Top entertainment👍
That basket is called a STOKES Basket, for rescues.
If the rods are bent, just pull them out and hammer them straight. I want to see this monster run. I've never seen pistons this big. It is a monster auto. Go for it, boys!
This ride looks amazing! What personality!
Distributor up front, I ***Believe*** means some sort of big block.
I was waiting to see a cop stop by, and the explanation that would be given for taking an engine apart in some ones parking lot !
Well, it certainly wasn't to make an inconspicuous getaway car!
I wanna see her on the road again, maybe as a resto mod?? Loved the vid guys!
Definitely love to see more of it
NICE WORK. It has been my experience that when a big block Mopar is stuck, you are too. Something about the materials they use or closer tolerances, but just one piston with rusted rings, and game over.
11:00, If steering wheels are supposed to be round, why does Tesla put square steering wheels in their cars, lol
I guess Chrysler did it first.
The battery was disconnected, it would be interesting if it still had some voltage.
that is a great video! thank you very much
I had a 63,it had a 413
The big dog💪🏻
Two 13mm bolts on the hood? Not on a 63 or 64 Chrysler! 1/2"
Man, that car screams restoring!!!!
361, 383 stamped near the distributor, 413, 426, 440, stamped on the right front flat area on the block as you look at it, easy to see.
I just bought an obscure old limo too, so this is right up my wheelhouse
Lots of work on the engine is need of work. My brother-in-law worked on an engine that had a very bad piston wall. And he did bring a replacement block that was in perfect shape. But my friend's dad did not want to pay for it. So, we built the engine anyway. And it rean pretty good. I saw my friend 3 years later and that engine was still running. That we never would happen. Now you are talking how me and one of my cousins did when we picked up an engine from the junk yard. We did know it needed to be rebuilt it, we wanted to hear it run first. Pretty crazy but that is what we did. I would like to see this engine rebuilt and running. I know you will have a much better chance to see the engine run. Please rebuild that engine!
Good luck guys
Fantastic effort. Everyone who produces will it run videos has failures. That is what makes it real.
Great video. Love tho se more of this car 😃
It's a Chrysler...they never run right. lol I have a funny story about one....so my grandfather bought a brand new 1973 Chrysler Imperial. They took it on a family trip to Florida. My uncle had just gotten his drivers license. He and my dad wanted to go to the beach and meet girls. After nagging my grandfather for a while, he finally caved and said "ok you can take the car to the beach." Back then, you could drive on the beach. They drove it on the beach...a little too close to the water. Tide came in. They went to move it, but it was a one wheel wonder, and just kept digging itself deeper and deeper into the sand. They had to call a tow truck. BY the time the tow truck got there, he had to swim a line out to the car. They winched it in, opened up the doors, water came rushing out like Niagra Falls. They went to fire up the motor, and surprisingly, it started. The next day, they cleaned the car out, then started driving back to NJ. They were at a red light, when my grandfather said "You know, for what the car went through, this is a GREAT car. It is so great, I am going to write a letter to the CEO of Chrysler telling him what a great product he has!" No sooner he said that, light turned green, he hit the gas, and you heard BANG! Transmission blew up. They had to leave the car in Florida to be repaired. A month later, my uncle and my grandfather had to meet people in Newark to pick up the car..turns out, 2 hippie guys drove it up. There were peace signs painted all over the car, and when they opened the door, you could see the cloud of pot smoke coming out of the car. My grandfather being a very classic conservative, WW2 veteran, just yelled "That's it! We're selling the car!" It didn't bother him the car was submerged in saltwater...the hippie guys is what did it. lol
Round 2 for sure !
I like how everyone steals Derek's VGG funny one liners and jokes😂😂
I'm always interested in cars from 63, my birth year!
We need a part two and three and four like to see it all running
I would love to come and work with you guys! I'm retired, disabled, 57 years old with nothing to do. I feel I'd fit right in with you guys lol You have the same drive and persistence I used to have. Keep up the great work.
Talk about a side of the road rebuild hell yeah
I would like to see more. Maybe pull the engine and free up rings etc…
Amazing car, thanks for saving it!
Scrape off the flat portion of the block to the drivers side of the distributor. You should find 413 stamped on it.
You cant let this car beat you!
Want to see it run!
You guys made a valiant attempt. Two thumbs up 👍👍
I loved them old big block mopars and the 413 was the best! They even made a good truck engine.
It will fit on the trailer ! Hang off a little bit but not too much.
Car looks to be a Stageway stretch, built in Arkansas. The center door is a modified front door and uses front door hardware and glass, plus a small fixed pane. What is unusual is that it is a New Yorker and not a Newport.
My brother works at the company in Londonderry were you worked on the car and there not impressed on the stains you left in there parking lot
I've only made it about half way through the video but, since they said the hood bolts were 13mm, I'm not sure they know about the left-handed lug nuts. 😀
Man, one of these was just brought in to a junkyard I go to recently! That is really crazy odds
I would like to hear that Chrysler run. I hope you will have it online here so I can see what you all done to that piece of history.
It's a 413. ID pad was right behind you. The square pad in front of the intake
I admire those with the $$ and know how to get these things going (I hope its going!). In addition to preserving the vehicles, they are doing the natural environment a great favour.....these cars should not be left to rot on beautiful soil.
It's what's called an Airport Limousine. Most were made by Stageway coach builders.
Used to shuttle people to airports. More of a shuttle bus than a luxury limo.
Should be a plaque somewhere saying Stageway. New Yorkers got the 413.
I believe that's an airport limo. It would shuttle from an airport to a hotel, that's why there is 6 doors.
Get it running!
I dont believe i have ever seen a will it drive X-miles home video, where so much work was put into just getting the engine to turn
Be crazy, if the next old car you found, really did have Jimmy's remains in it...( I mean with all of the bodies at Lake Mead) Could happen!
A+ for effort. Not even Derek would have tried so long. Boy, EVERYTHING was locked up.
:) One of my ‘61 New Yorkers (413) I dropped the oil pan and yes, it was a real pain!! Its engine was (is) stuck. I think I have a stuck valve. At least I now have another ‘61 that runs and drives, yay!
Love this car. Definitely need to do a clean up video on this car and a spit and polish. Take through a drive through
That was an Ebike tire you found in the backseat. Strange. It looked like a modern one but is probably 20 years old.
This was an awesome effort!
Huge fan of the c-body mopars
Nice video. I've seen so many of these...car sitting for decades. Nobody ever thinks to bring a leaf blower 🙂
Never knew new yorkers were used as limos!!!!! I have very fond 1st gf memories and ive loved new yorkers ever since 😂
Chisel in a crosshatch pattern! Not up and down! 😂
Definitely gotta get it running an driving. Good job fellas great video
The motor in it is a 413 they did not put 361's in the new yorker's. And the way to tell is look on the flat pad by the front of the left head, they did not put the 361in the new Yorkers. 😮❤❤❤❤❤❤
Looks like airport limo .luggage rack on roof .
RUNNING AND DRIVING !!
In 1963 chrysler newyorker came standard with a 413
Just found your channel, glad i did! Great entertainment!
