Hey man. I’m 35. Stuttering has changed my life for the worse. I quit my dream job as a CPA because I found out that I had to give a presentation. I isolate myself. I’m forced to act like I enjoy being alone. But the fact is I’m too embarrassed to talk. Some days I talk fine, other days it’s really hard. I’ve been depressed and even suicidal at times. Just wanted to drop you a comment that you’re not alone.
me too. the only reason that I keep patient for it. is the fact I believe that there is another life after death. and god will create us perfectly to enjoy in heaven. i keep thinking about people worse than us a million times.
Either are you, my friend, either are you. Im 50. Have had a pretty severe stutter my whole life. Past year it seems to have gotten noticeably worse for some reason. I don't know. Maybe it's true...God only gives the hardest jobs to the strongest Angeles. I beleive it does almost force you to develop a stoic type attitude about things, knowing your gonna feel embarassed but going on anyway. And I think thats a unique reality for people who struggle with stuttering. Carry on Brother✌️
I'm still young, 19, and I feel like killing myself. I haven't been able to speak normally since I was a small kid, being bullied and being out of touch because of my stuttering. It has changed my life forever, and the worst thing is that there is no cure for us stuttering people. I've been acting like it's all okay and I can live with it, but I can't. It's an endless depression. Sometimes I talk normally, but there are days I can't even say my name properly to anybody. In my entire life, I received zero support, but only bullying or jokes about how I talk, but it's great to see that there are many stuttering people like us. We're not alone in this mess, and there is still a small hope... Your video made me cry, because I know the pain, stay strong...
It does suck. My stutter isn’t that bad. But I have periods when it’s more severe. And that sucks. The shame. Embarrassment. And what you say about knowing how you look when you stutter. That’s so embarrassing. Facial tics. Damn :(
Damn i can relate to this so much. How are you now after 1 year? Today i stuttered bad in a situation and all i just wanted is to go back home and start punching the walls. I started crying as i hit the wall because of the emotion. Its like i have some emptiness in my chest.

Oh my gosh you are breaking my heart! My daughter who is almost 25 has stuttered since she was 5. She was teased soooooo bad in school about it! I tried to help her build her self esteem and it has helped but not as much as I wish. Yo man, I get you 100%, I've had a stutter for all that I can remember, all through school, all through my jobs I've had, my stutter is not as bad as yours but it's still definitely there, my whole childhood was spent basically not talking because I was simply just afraid to, I've learned some coping mechanisms for my stutter which has helped me greatly, but you would know, it is still there, personally, I feel that it has played a part in my developing of depression, which itself I've been through so many treatments for but the more treatments I go through, the more I think that the depression isn't going to go anywhere, because I can't talk normally, I feel you bro, hang in there, I don't like telling people that things get better when you and I both know that this thing isn't going anywhere, but I can say to just try to hang in there. Man what’s weird is some days I don’t stutter at all, some days I can’t say a word. My range from how good and bad it can be is huge. I’ve done therapy all my child hood and in the army. I did HCRI ( great school) but it didn’t really help, I also tried 2 different speech devices. Still it gets better for a little bit then goes back to being bad. It’s so weird. I wish I knew why.
This video really hit home. Everything you mentioned and spoke about describes the exact way I feel as a stutterer. I'm in college at the moment and I hate having to give presentations and meeting new people, it's terrifying! It sucks, so much. I just wanted to say this. Some people may not care, some people might. Some might say I'm spouting nonsense. But I just wanna say it regardless. As a semi-religious person. I just wanna say (this may sound weird too, forgive me for my poor English) but I really love you guys. Especially you people with disabilities. Why you ask? Well that's because all my life I have been taught that since you guys are disabled, you automatically have a special power that normal people don't have, which is that you can make a person better. That and also that your prayers are stronger than ours. I say you guys make us better because you guys are so much more kind, forgiving, humble, selfless than so many normal people in this world. You would be surprised how so many normal people are monsters now and how regardless of your state, you people are truly like angels. Sometimes I might even feel jealous of you guys as you often see life throughout pink glasses; some of you are unaware of the dark sides of our world, you don’t care about media news, don’t talk about politicians, corruptions, injustice and many other issues that most people of the 21th century busy their mind with on a daily basis. Not only that. You guys teach us to be better. Even with this stuttering, I Learned to be more patient when you speak and to be caring towards you people. This way, I literally became a better person just by you guys, how awesome is that. I know you guys might feel disturbed by your disability, but trust me. It's the world that's ugly, not you guys. If everyone was as good as our religion wanted us to be, trust me you guys would have never felt sad about your disability. Either way another good thing is you guys are 100% going to heaven which is pretty much the best thing ever. So stay happy guys. You guys teach us to be better🤗.

stuttering is a burden. But with everything in life there is polarity and therefore stuttering must have some positives, even though I havent found any yet. I dropped out of uni last year. I started again this year but I am thinking of dropping out again, because I have no friends whatsoever, cant speak, underlying trauma, scared of presentations, go all day without saying a single sentence. I am numbed down to emotions now. I dont cry or get upset anymore. I am a robot, numbed down all the emotions. What is saving me is my healthy diet, without that I would be in a SEVERE dark place
Hey Lance! I get where you’re coming from, and life does suck sometimes, and it isn’t fair. But if you flip those negative thoughts around, and start thinking about what you can do and what you have instead, it might help. Personally I think you are a good communicator, because you have a great presence and a way about you that makes people listen. There are so many things that make people good or bad communicators, and fluency has very little to do with it. I get that you yourself get frustrated and feel embarrassed at times, but you should never ever apologize for stuttering. Like you said, you can’t help it and there is nothing you can do. Your questions and opinions have just as much value if it takes a minute to ask/say, as the people who spend 10 seconds asking. Often times stuttering gets better with acceptance. You’ll probably never be completely fluent, but if you stop chasing that pipe-dream and start owning your stutter, it might get better. Love your videos! Best of luck to you. 😄
I think it's so beautiful that the you are so concerned about how this affects Avery. You are gorgeous and I hope you keep communicating. Out is better than in.

Stuttering has ruined my life. I can only imagine how better my life would be if i was able to speak normally. I have been isolating myself for like 10 years now since i prefer that over not being able to assert myself and earn people’s respect. Its been hard, lots of mental health issues, and no one seems to understand my situation. I have rejected multiple women that were interested in me because its just too stressful for me. I have cut off relations with my friends because going out with them would only make me feel alone and depressed because i cant express myself fluently and in a “cool” way like they do. I also remember when i was still in school, one time i was reading and my stutter was so bad that i started crying and left the classroom broken. Sometimes i wonder what i did to deserve this. Life has been hard, its just unfair..
I’ve been in those situations too my friend. I’m sure a lot of us have. I have a security job I’m way over qualified for and it’s a shit job but I do it at night so I don’t gotta talk to anyone. Also when me and my gf go out to eat she always orders for me so I don’t mess it up. I also don’t answer any phone calls unless I really really have too and I’ll go to another room so no one will hear how bad I speak since it’s way worse over the phone. I’m sorry you deal with it, I know how bad it sucks. I truly do.
been there ..it sucks nd annoying when ppl say that its not even that bad .. i started when i was 13 nd lasted until age 23 or 24 .. bought some program from michael williams that helped alot .. i found him on youtube bro ..hope ur alright man cuz like u said ..its a daily stuggle
when people say the stutter aint that bad...they are obviously lying......!!! They don't mean it......they are just saying that to make the stutterer feel better....why do listeners have to lie like that to make stutterers feel better!
Btw imo the stutter does not cause depression itself but the side effects of being anxious or scared to talk on the phone, go through a drive thru, and especially... walk in a store and go “Hey, are you hiring?”. Its a curse. My dad had it too.

Use the air flow technique and do meditation everyday 10 minutes in the morning, meditation keeps the heart and mind calm so that you will be able to talk comfortably
Sometimes we find ourselves stuck - no, no just for words, but in our own situation. Try and take a couple of steps back. The vision is usually clearer from that perspective. Nope, I am not a doctor, motivational speaker or whatever. But man, you sure could use a good talk with a friend, someone from the outside. I stutter too and to be honestly to fit in is ludicrous that to change the world is something that doesn't happen overnight that's why I try to change myself by telling myself that I shouldn't judge people who is gay, disabilities, people living in poverty etc.but that's like saying that if I be nice to people then they would accept me,basically being a pushover so that's why I decided to be myself but it gets dark now and then I just stay optimistic 😅 and try to cheer myself up...

There are researchers working on all different ailments but no one is working on treatments for this condition. I know my stutter is not physical, its mental and is anxiety based. I wont stutter a word when im talking outloud to myself or if i sing a song or especially when Im angry and need to get my point across. I only hope that medical science starts to treat this condition because it is truly crippling.

I am 71 years old, and have stuttered since early childhood. Based on my own experience and a very large amount of reading about stuttering over the years, I would say the following. In many instances, children who begin stuttering in early childhood (age 4), for reasons not fully understood by experts in this field, will permanently cease stuttering WITHOUT speech therapy. In my opinion, it depends in part on the parenting abilities of the parents, the degree to which they have educated themselves about raising children who stutter, overall conditions within the home, bullying at school, and the severity of the biological basis of the child’s stuttering. If your child’s stuttering does not improve AND IF it becomes a problem, I recommend speech therapy. If the child seems to “be ok” with his stuttering, it is probably best to not obtain speech therapy, just try to be a good parent. If you do decide to obtain speech therapy, try VERY strongly to find a speech therapist who has been trained how to treat stuttering, and few of them have. A better option is an approach that does not treat the stuttering, but the child who stutters. This is sometimes call the “holistic” approach. The “holistic” approach may also be helpful as a young adult. If a person has stuttered since early childhood and still does by his early 20’s, the continued stuttering and related stressful experiences may have caused mental health disorders. No type of therapy will be effective until those disorders have been adequately addressed. The disorders may be depression, PTSD, generalized anxiety, or some type of personality disorder regarding having normal relationships with other people. If so, he needs help from a psychologist or even a psychiatrist. In either case, try to find one who has patients who stutter. I "have been there".

I have not been diagnosed with any medical conditions, but I still feel that way sometimes (with my dad). I get jealous when my friend said that both his parents love him and take care of him (My parents divorced, his did not, by the way). My mom is like that, my dad is not. He will yell and punish me for things like forgetting to turn of the lights of a room I'm not using or not closing a drawer. He rarely ever cleans and does laundry so for a long time I'd wear dirty clothes for weeks and try to avoid cockroaches and have black feet from dust. He always gaslights and calls us names and shames me and my bro. I just think my life will be better if I just had a better dad. I feel sad, empty, depressed, crazy, and ashamed all the time. I constantly think that I'm stupid and ugly and a failure and many other similar things. I even have suicidal thoughts and scars from cutting. I have hid my feelings from him for so long in fear of being ridiculed that I do it all the time. Even from friends and family. I just say I'm fine. He also gets very angry very easily, so I am afraid that one day he'll get so angry he'll beat me up (he hasn't yet). So I can definitely relate (in my own way).

i stutter too. i made 3 videos on it but my videos were a little bit more joke. i pretty much was just laughing at having my stutter all together. i did that to kinda bring a little light to stutter instead of the usual sad stories. thanks for sharing. this video wasn't really depressing but kinda just telling a story or the truth. i liked it. i stutter more when i express any high emotion. negative or positive. i have lots of trigger words and sounds. which i went over on my channel. and boy is there a lot of them. but whatev's. before i go. one good thing about my stutter was i used it to get out of public speaking sometimes in school and got the teacher to feel bad for me. lol. anyways. stuttering isn't the worst thing but it still sucks, but it's still not the worst. BTW, i did work at a call center (i know my stutter isn't the worst but it is noticeable at times) and i stuttered on 100% of the calls. i just tried extra hard to not stutter in the interview and 99.9% of the time i don't, but once i already got the job they cannot just fire me because of disabilities act and it makes them look like an asshole and i was also one of the best sellers too so there's that. but i am lucky my stutter isn't one of the worst. but you can try singing out one of your horrible stutters. i barely do it myself because i can't sing and it's embarrassing but it does work 100% of the time. sing out your stutter on the bad words.

Hey man.
I am also 35 and I would do the same…I think most of the people in our position would do the same
Ya I get all those feelings also man. It sucks.
You have to find the cause of your stutter, to over come it, S0 you can get back on track with your life. Would you like your life back?

You ever need to talk to anyone feel free to reach out to me, my inbox is open, especially for people I can relate to!
Stuttering has made me contemplate the degree I want to pursue. :(
But I hope you and Avery are doing well Lance. :)

I feel you bro!! I stutter too, hang in there my man!!
Awe that was sweet. Thank you very much.

stuttering is a burden.
You are a champion sir! Thank you for speaking on on this issue!

I can soo fucking relate to this. Props to you
Use the air flow technique and do meditation everyday 10 minutes in the morning, meditation keeps the heart and mind calm so that you will be able to talk comfortably
All the best.

We are hitting relatability levels that shouldn’t be possible
I "have been there".
there is a very good movie called the king's speech. it may help people to overcome this problem!

Hang in there....
Hello ,.. New Sub'er.,,..having a Stutter,. Does suck,. I hope it gets better for Yu,... Take Care of Yurself,.
if life was like a video game, living with a stutter is like playing on god mode
I think you mean living without a stutter… but I agree. my life would be so much better if I didn’t stutter. I’m 37 and have no money and a shit job. if I didn’t stutter I think I would be soooo much further ahead in life.
@@lancelambert87 sorry I meant god mode difficulty. My stutter is quite severe and everyday feels like an uphill battle
I think stuttering is caused by a traumatic event between the ages of 2-7. As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I have found the cause of 100% of my clients. anything from a dog barking in a child's face, to a child seeing some one get shot. This is the spectrum that I have worked with. If any one has any questions about finding the cause of your stutter, please let me know. I think if you can find the cause, you can get to the cure. Thank you for your time
Well I don’t remember a traumatic experience but…… one time I was in maybe 3rd grade and we had to give the pledge of allegiance over the loud speaker for the entire school with a group of 4 of us and we had to announce our name from the main office. All I remember was sayin I’m (L..L..Laa.Laaa.Lan. L …, I can’t say it, I can’t say it”.. to the entire school from the microphone… super embarrassing. That was my first true memory from stuttering.
@@lancelambert87 Not to many people can remember their traumatic event. With hypnostherapy I had found 100% of the cause of my clients. Once you find your cause you can learn how to let it go.
My name is siobhàn you do not have to be depressed and I would like to meet you and have you laugh
Do not hate yourself from siobhàn
my stuttering was destroying my life and I was very suicidal
Hello, have you heard of or seen the device that goes in your ear? It gives an echo so it feels like someone else is talking with you... It comes from America and hopefully I'll be getting one this year, it is around £700 but it will be worth it.
electricdan14 yes. I actually have one. It helps but not as much as I would like it to so I don’t even wear it.
@@lancelambert87 That's a shame... I'm not sure about getting one now although I should probably try it, what do you think?
electricdan14 you should absolutely try it. I have a video of me on here reading with one in my ear. It does HELP.. but it’s not a cure. So you just have to decide if it’s worth wearing for you. It does make me stutter less but it’s not a cure and then it’s just something that’s always in your ear and people asking about it all the time. But for sure get it if you can.,we all stutter differently.
lancelambert87 I watched it and it is a good video and I think you’re right I will try it because at least I’ll know if it works for me or not, how much did your one cost?
electricdan14 I actually got mine through the VA since I was in the Army.
Hello Lance, I don't know if this channel is still active but I would like to talk to you about this, if it's possible?
Thank you,
Vojtech
I don’t check it much or really add to it it’s still active though. What’s up?
@@lancelambert87 I am having just serious problems with stuttering, there's more to it but I don't know, I just don't know how to handle it all, or if I even can. I can't keep living like this. I can't.
@@antemortem1569 well buddy all of us have to keep living like this. We have no other choice. But hey bro there are worse things. Yes life is harder on us stutters than just about anyone but that doesn’t mean we just give up. Come on man don’t talk like that. We can still do great and amazing things if we put in the work.
Stuttering makes life hell
It be times when person me Random question and I be stuttering to get the worlds out but for the most point until people not asking me questions my stuttering don’t be bad like It use to

Just one question?

@BikerMouse80. Just the other day, i wanted to send a video message to this girl im kinda seeing. Just to record “ hey, was just thinking about you, hope your having a good day” i dont remember how many takes i tried... I never sent it. I couldnt. I didnt want her to see it and feel embarased for me and have to lie and say “thanks, thats so sweet” or some shit like that. Because watching someone stutter is hard to watch. Its uncomfortable.
fluent speakers kinda take small stuff like that for granted. But for us, its a battle. And thats every day for us. It gets up when we do. Stay stong Friend✌️
Hello Lance if I am not being inappropriate you are very handsome
Thank you lol
That normal man you are fine 💯
Thank you.
Hello brother, I’ve been watching you for years I’m also a stutterer my self, I tried so many programs and ways but the only thing that really helped me is the Lee G Lovett method. Check it out, it’s not magic but it’ll teach you some methods that really works a little improvement is better than none. Keep it up body ❤👍🏻
Lee Lovett makes one a covert stutterer with word substitutions....and affrmations--his program made me worse off....now I can't speak!!
Does anyone want to get rid of stuttering? If yes, leave the comment with your contacts. I'd like to check my approach that helped me. Approximately it will take 2-3 months to have a fluent speech even in stressful situations.

Hang in there.
Thank you ! I try.
Im stuttering and its fucking sucks
i stutter too. i made 3 videos on it but my videos were a little bit more joke. i pretty much was just laughing at having my stutter all together. i did that to kinda bring a little light to stutter instead of the usual sad stories. thanks for sharing. this video wasn't really depressing but kinda just telling a story or the truth. i liked it. i stutter more when i express any high emotion. negative or positive. i have lots of trigger words and sounds. which i went over on my channel. and boy is there a lot of them. but whatev's. before i go. one good thing about my stutter was i used it to get out of public speaking sometimes in school and got the teacher to feel bad for me. lol. anyways. stuttering isn't the worst thing but it still sucks, but it's still not the worst.
