If I knew as an 18 year old stutterer what I know as a 45 year old stutterer life would definitely be different but it's the journey that counts I guess:) figuring out the jawlock thing was the best thing I ever did. It was so freaking tiring.
Really proud of you guys and love you!

Family and friends are everything! If one member of your family or a good, REAL FRIEND supports you, you've got
a much better chance on everything in life. Kudos to the Moms and Dads , brothers or sisters, and best friends who have their backs! 🙂❤😇

I have been there. I have stuttered since early childhood, and am now 71. I don’t fully understand the original cause of my stuttering; probably early childhood stress and a biological predisposition to stutter. But I do know that my stuttering had caused me to have PTSD by my late 20’s. That in turn caused my stuttering to get MUCH worse. Continued stuttering can as early as 20 cause PTSD and other mental health issues (e.g., depression, generalized anxiety, some type of personality disorder regarding having normal relationships with other people). No stuttering/speech therapy can be effective until those mental health problems have first been adequately addressed. Sadly, few stutterers are aware of this.

This really hits home. To anyone struggling, I highly recommend reading Lee Lovetts’ How to Stop Stuttering & Love Speaking. Diligently immerse yourself in the authors methods and program and you’ll see massive important. Take it from someone like me, who stammered for 15 years.

This was very interesting. And very brave if all of them were for real and not“acting” - which some real sad people do for views.
But for those that really has this disease - you are all strong and very brave!

It's both, it's a regional description. I think I've heard stammer more in British English.
