      How about Salmon, tuna, tempeh, Greek yogurt, turkey patties, peanut protein, and lots more that I'm not thinking of right now...beef, Buffalo, deer, Feta Cheese, Tahiti, and more. Each person has to honor your individual needs and preferences
      You can do this! 😊

    Yes, I can definitely attest to the protein theory from myself and my husband 's experience. Any times we eat, no matter the volume, no matter the amount of fat, but if the protein isn't enough then we would still feel " empty " and need to eat more. As soon as we top up enough with more protein, that feeling is gone and we would stop wanting to eat.

    Fats are also used to build hormones ... and they are essential. So sure, fats and carbs are both fuel, but one is essential to hormones and brain health and the other just serves as a crappy fuel that does damage (AGEs, insulin resistance, metabolic damage, heart disease) in excess amounts.

    • @Ki77a_WhSpRz
      @Ki77a_WhSpRz Рік тому +27

      Yep yep.. I was all about protein in my diet, till I understood that can actually cause your blood sugar to be off balance along with other issues. I dropped the theory of eat protein of your weight.. Some people have histamine issues.. When I went more fat, around 300 grams for me and use that for my fuel and between 75-85g in protein it definitely improved my blood levels as well other stuff, now I only need just a little of insulin to get that protein in the cells.. Sometimes alot of people don't need that much protein.. Best way to know how much protein you need is. Test your glucose before you eat and do it again 2hrs after you ate the amount of protein a person normally eats.. See how much of a spike it does to your blood and figure out from there if you have to cut it down if it spikes off of protein which it can cause of a person A1C

    • @dixonhouse

      @@Ki77a_WhSpRz same here!!! My BG goes too high when I eat too much protein (and then I don’t sleep well & I am inflamed) .. I’m hoping as I heal I will be able to eat more .. I’m curious what you mean about some people having histamine issues. I just recently came to the conclusion I am having some issues .. curious what you were getting at with that ? I’m trying to get mine under control

      My issue was getting dizzy or after eating alot of protein I was hella tired after, then that next day which I really couldn't figure out. My lower middle back was hurting but not in pain, just felt I needed a good back crack. I had a bad L5 disk in the past, so that's what I thought it was.. Nope came to find out I was eating to much protein and it was inflaming my kidneys. One thing I wish would be that some of the people on UA-cam that talk about carnivore mention that this diet can be really bad for some people and can totally Jack them up, same goes for fasting all the time. Lily is awesome and I love her ch.. Shes better then most on what I see.. But, alot of carnivore people tell you eat till your full on meat, or protein doesn't effect you, eat all the protein you can. Ummm no you can't.. Protein can still Jack up your insulin and some people don't see that.. They get dizzy, brain fog, their cortisol is high etc. That's why now I'm a believer, that up taken the fats more is better. You can only get so protein into the cells.. It doesn't take alot of protein to work for the muscles, fat is truly the fuel that we need, not pounds and pounds of meat and high protein especially for the ladies

I’m new to the carnivore diet and to your channel so this has been very helpful. I wish I had seen this before starting. I went just about cold turkey from a regular “healthy” diet to a keto carnivore diet within one week . I experienced symptoms of dehydration and insomnia. It’s been about 2-3 wks now and I’m still having fatigue, muscle soreness/cramps and difficulty sleeping so I’m definitely going to take your advice and try to make sure I’m getting enough macronutrients and electrolytes. Also, eating carbs requires more energy JUST to process the sugar/carbs, which requires more nutrients. If the body does get nutrients, it will down-regulate aka slow the metabolism. Sugar is evil. Because it's addictive and an anti-nutrient.

    I went from 340 lbs to 230 in 11 months on carnivore. I still eat about 7-10 Flying Dutchmen with mustard fried into meat. It’s about 3200 calories ish and I am sustaining a fat loss and muscle gain. I replaced water with Powerade Zero Blue one. Delicious and just as cheep as electrolite packets. I now train weight lifting 5 days a week bro split, and Jiujitsu 5 times a week, sometimes two Jiujitsu classes per day. I feel great, no heart burn anymore, lots of aches gone, knees don’t pop anymore, I heal faster. I don’t cheat but I do eat some quest penut butter cups sometimes. 1gram net per serving. By changing my diet, I cured a lot of shit that held me back in life. Physical and mental stuff just gets cured basically. I highly recommend carnivore or keto.

    Balance on all macros. Fats and carbs just tend to be the easier to over eat and protein is the easiest to under eat based on our available food options. Also wanted to mention that potato chips actually are a great source of potassium! It doesn’t make them the best option but 361mg per serving is probably more than that drink mix has!

    Dear Lillie speaking about fuel types, can you make a video on your thoughts on the Randall effect?

      Randle, not Randall. Since he discovered it in 1963, we have discovered FAR more about cellular metabolism and which hormones actually govern healthy metabolism (ie glucose and insulin). In essence...with elevated insulin, all the Randle effect in the world won't cause actual weight loss UNTIL insulin levels drop.

    I have never heard or seen anyone explain it like you do. I wonder if anyone of those fitness "influencers" I watched before really know what they're doing or saying.
