    You can’t compare insurance claims to dealerships profit margin. Apples to oranges. Sell it privately. You will ALWAYS lose more money with dealerships. The house always wins.

    I here you- I bought a 22’ rogue 60 and while I love the bike, I got a little buyers remorse in that I also liked a 111 Chief, but the rogue 60 felt lighter and fast and the Chief felt more powerful but not as nimble- fun factor for cruising and cornering my rogue 60 is so fun-
    I did some more riding and thinking and realized that I got this for fun but also as a cruiser sporty bike- Indian knocked 2k off for trade in if I went with 22 Chief, my rogue 60 cost me 12,899. I decided to spend the 2k loss on performance- so I stage 1 tuned, added RCX pipes, performance air filter. Let me tell you, this bike now hauls ass with a roughly 10% power increase- this cost me $300 for the RCX pipes and $600 for the tune and performance air filter and housing- you know I realized I got a fast, badass looking, absolutely freeway cruising with no issue bike for less than the scout “regular” rogue cost- anyway thanks for the video and platform to spend my 2 cents-be

      Hi Jason, thanks for your feed back and your thoughts. After this video I got to test out my buddies Scout. Let me tell you, yes his bike is faster, but not that much more where I would change my 60 for the 69. I am definitely very happy with my 60. Specially when I rev it to 8000s RPM

      @@His_Scout_Sixty Jason's right. You didn't do bad at all getting the Sixty. I test rode the Sixty and the 1133cc each before I settled on the Sixty ($1,500 less) and both pulled hard on the interstate (I did a 60-85mph test for each) and both bikes almost felt the same honestly. The 1133cc model only really outshines the Sixty when you get over about 6k RPMs. At about 80mph I noticed the RPMs were within about 200 RPM of one another between the Sixty's 5th and 1133's 6th gears; that means the 5th for the 1133 was just a "45-55ish mph cruising gear." I hope you still don't regret the Sixty. It blows most other cruisers out of the water with looks and performance.

    The same thing will happen at any dealership for any type of vehicle. Thats why you don't buy a bike and trade it in a few months later. Get a few years of use out of your bike and enjoy it first. The trade in value is a lot better for anything after a few years. Not indian's fault

  • @elmisterchups

    Have you considered the big bore kit? I have seen many videos where the guys recommand to buy a sixty, and then, when you want more power, have the big bore kit installed. You end up with a bike beefyer than the full scout. I have not done it, I am just telling what I heard in some videos.

    Don't buy anything and trade it in. It's a lot easier but you always get screwed on the deal on a trade in. If they give you a good trade for the bike or car, etc they bump the price up on what you're buying. I'd sell it myself then you have more bargaining power

    I got my first Harley in 2018. Every year since, I've traded in and gotten a new bike. I have literally never lost money on one. In some cases, I even made a few bucks. I bought a 93 FXR in 2021 and sold it for more than I paid 2 months later. I've been considering adding an Indian Chief to the stable. The closest dealer is like 3 hours away from me and I'm a little worried about aftermarket support but I'd love to try one!

    I don't live in SoCal anymore where this bike would be perfect. Oklahoma is so spread out that these rides are killing me.

      @His_Scout_Sixty  9 місяців тому

      Hey Brother, I’ll tell you this. After riding the Lowrider S, I would not trade it my Indian. I’ll be honest, the 117 is an impressive bike but the scout is faster and more comfortable. That low end torque is beautiful, but in my opinion I choose speed. My bday was a few weeks ago and my wife rented me a HD Road Glide Unlimited. It’s the biggest bike they have. Steep, GPs, leg wind deflectors, the whole touring package. It was beautiful! That’s the only bike I would trade my Indian for.
      But everyone one is different. That’s just my feel

    If you ever want to get your moneys worth, you have to sell it privately. I remember Harley Davidson would pay the full price of your sportster if you was going to move up to a bigger bike. I think it had to be at least within a year of purchase. I wish Indian would do something like that.

  • @BigBoyWoogie
    @BigBoyWoogie Рік тому +1

    I think it's not too uncommon. Kawasaki has done the same. It's based on all the overhead associated with maintaining the expensive dealerships. Harley can offer you more because they have higher profit margins built into their motorcycles (higher price for the new Harley).
