- The New Indian Scout is pretty much unchanged from previous years but with all of the Scout lineup including the Rogue, Bobber and regular Scout, it has some pretty amazing features that make it one of the best bikes Indian makes. Let me tell you what you need to know about the Indian Scout
I purchased my 2022 Indian scout bobber in Aug 2022. It's my very first motorcycle after taking a beginner course. I have no regrets at all, loving the bike. I'm glad that I went with this bike rather than a smaller cc motorcycle.
Same! Great bike
Congrats!
First bike? See that’s what I wanna do but everyone’s like no, no. Don’t do it.
@Daniel Estrada for me yes, i had taken the msf course and it built a lot of confidence. Took a test drive few months later and fell in love with the bobber. Went on another test ride months after and bought it. Just make sure you feel comfortable on it making tight turns
Did the same a few years before and was the best choice I made. The big BUT for me is the suspension and seat, not the best for even mid rides.
Got my wife the Harley 883 sportster and I got the 1200. I traded them for the Indians and never looked back best decision of my life
I can only say Amen. After a long time of debating which bike I wanna start on I finally pulled the trigger and ordered a 2025 Scout Bobber. I was debating between the 101 and the bobber for a while. I was literately losing sleep over which bike to buy but I finally just went with my gut - the bobber is the one that is the most aesthetically pleasing to me. I love the stripped down look and the smokey black color. Can't wait to cruise this bike around my hometown.
Ride safe y'all.
My brother bought one of these a few days ago after riding my octane. He usually rides a Harley but he loves this new bike. On a side note: I’ve been riding for over 35 years, never dropped or laid down a bike even after losing tires and in snow.
Fresh off the MSF last October and I got a 22 Scout Rogue ABS as my first bike in November. Got it used with 300mi on it for $15k and some change. I'm 900mi in(not including the original 300mi) I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS BIKE! My only negatives about the bike is the stock suspension especially if your a bigger rider like myself(6ft 300lbs) and the Hallogen headlight. Luckily I'll be upgrading to the fox shocks and pathfinder headlight sooner than later.
That seems like a lot. A new Chief starts at $15k.
@jeffghant4760 yeah new chief starts at 15k before tax, surcharge, dealer fees etc my used Scout Rogue ABS(300mi at the time) out the door was $15.6. You ain't getting a new chief out the door anywhere near that. I hope to upgrade to the Sport Chief one day that bike is beautiful.
I have a 2019 Scout 60. I mostly do day rides of about 5 hours though I've done some longer trips, including a 10 day ride with one 11 hour day. My mods include a new seat (Mustang solo), the Indian hard-bags (lowish storage space but look beautiful, I supplement for overnight trips with a bag behind me tied down with a bungee net), highway bars, windscreen, upgraded headlight, and handgrip warmers for cooler weather. The Indian Scout lineup is amazing.
Got a Scout Rogue last year, first bike. Full engine size - for those wondering if they should do the same, imo, YES just get the full ride. It's not been at all too much to handle, not even close to dropping it at any time, and I think I would have regretted the same bike with a smaller engine. Great videos man.
Got my Scout Rogue sixty as my first bike and I love it.
It is the best Indian. It's why I purchased one from American Biker.
I got a 2022 ISB. I put the Eagle LED headlight, S&S Stealth II intake, Fuelmoto tune (via PV3 tuner) and have the Freedom Performance Combat 2 to 1 exhaust on order. Got it in Sept, bike has over 1,000 miles on it. It's my first bike and I absolutely love it. Can't wait for the snow to go away.
Your video provides a good summary of all the features that make the Indian Scout a suitable beginner bike but also make it suited for more experienced riders. Excellent work!
I'll vouch for getting a 60 as your first bike. Got mine in June of 2022 and it's been great and was very approachable. Friction zone is very forgiving. Rode it to work (14 miles) the day after I got it. Put 7,000 miles on it last summer and love it more the more ride!
I've been riding my dad's breakout for months now and just bought a 22' scout, the classic scout. So far I'm loving it.
I was very interested in the Scout Bobber but after watching several UA-cam videos I got interested in the Scout Rogue. I bought it in 2022. I got the Rogue 60 and I am satisfied with my purchase. I preferred the handlebars and seat on the Rogue. 😊also it’s great to customize and make your bike yours.
I test rode a scout and it definitely needs the mini apes that the rogue has
@@Billuhhanks scout bobber 20 has the same handle bars as the rogue but with the bobber design
After like 4 years of the pew vids, just today i find out you do bikes?! Yes!
Just got an Indian scout after not riding since I was a teen about 20 years ago and I have to say it’s perfect for returning riders or if you have at least a year of experience. I think it’s a hold forever type of bike.
I put bog bore kit, performance cams, performance air intake ,pistons, and bunch of other things and my SCOUT IS NOW 170HP,145,150 TORQUE AND DOWN TO 45PLBS. ITS A MONSTER NOW.
I ride motorcycles for over 40 years and the Scout regular is for me one of the best I ever owned. There is sufficient power but it is not unforgiving as he says also. One of the best features is the low gravity point that makes it handle really well in corners also. Suspension in the back however is not suitable for two people.
I just purchased a 23 Bobber 60! Money saved vs the Scout Bobber is a no Brainer! You won't get tired with 78 HP! And 6sp vs 5sp no big deal!
A very good video. Comprehensive. " A bike you can ease into ". Very accurate. The scout needs cruise control and an LED headlight. As well as a RIDE COMMAND Guage. That would make the bike quite expensive. Which would suck. I'd rather do a stage one or even a stage 2 performance upgrade. And an all day comfortable seat. Maybe a rear fox shock upgrade.
Thanks for the summary. Also, this video deserves a like solely from your shirt alone
I love my 2018 Scout. Yeah, the stock seats are terrible. Still shopping for seats, breaking in a C.C. Rider at the moment. Got the bike tuned and found another 20 HP in there. Amazing bike. Also I put mid controls and it's fantastic, well, short of the scraping on tight turns with a bump.
You are making all perfectly legitimate points and I may have to trade in my Honda ...
Ordered one today, on the phone, just after seeing a few of them on the street ;:-)
Goy a scout bobber (69) as my first bike with no previous experience with any bikes. Best decision of my life!
I have the 15 scout thunder black. Best bike I have had so far. I have owned hd road king, Honda goldwing, Honda 700 ctx, custom hd sportster and by far the best one is the scout. And you're exactly right. About 100 miles that seat has to go but almost no aftermarket available as of yet
I think I'm sold on a Regular Scout ABS, found one with 500 miles on it, dealer is holding it for me. Big purchase, hope it's a good one.
So how are you liking it so far?
Fantastic video. Just picked my first motorcycle!!!
Love my 19 Scout Bobber! Coming from a Suzuki Boulevard C50T, it's night and day!
Bro, excellent detail. Thanks!
Great review. I was at my local Indian dealership and they had the flat green , which I called ODG , and it was exactly what I wanted as far as the looks. I get knee surgery in a few weeks, but once I get back on my feet, I definitely want to invest in one, just like the one you took out. I'm not looking for a bike to take on trips. Just local riding. I might have to take a ride out to American when I'm up that way Friday
I have a 2017 Indian scout (regular scout not bobber). I’ve loved every minute of it. I’m over 15k miles now. So far the only issue has been a failure of the engine temperature sensor (CTS) and the oil leak at the stater wires. Love it.
Only downfall is the aftermarket industry. I will say, there is a ton more options out there now then there was in 2017-2018. When I got the bike, Indian and aftermarket accessories were very limited. There’s a lot more stuff now. I bring this up because it’s a con, there’s nowhere near the amount of aftermarket stuff as you can get with a Harley. I go to a lot of bike rally’s too, and you never see Indian parts for sale. I tried to get the dynojet mobile booth to tune my scout at the smokeout rally, and they wouldn’t even touch it. Big con…lot less aftermarket stuff.
Great presentation bro! I agree with many points here. My local shop has that EXACT bike in Blue! 7:38 NAILED IT
I've had my 18 bobber since new and one if the best things about the Indian for beginners is the weight sits much lower than the HD
All it needs is a fuel gauge. And maybe a bigger gas tank
I have had my Scout for little over a year. My only complaint is the lack of cruise control. Otherwise, plenty of power for my short trips.
That's why they make and sell crash bars and exhaust sliders. So if and when a new rider does drop it there is almost no damage.
I subscribed to this channel because I am subscribed to your gun channel, and I don't even own a motorbike.
Thanks for the information 🏍️🙌🏻
A few things that would be required. Saddle bags, windshield, roll bars, rear seat, rear seat back rest (A minimum requirement for passenger safety), a rear rack. 6 speed. Winning the lottery, there is no way in my lifetime I'd ever be able to afford a new motorcycle. Especially being retired... I drive a 2006 Honda Shadow 750 and the dealer offered me just 1,100.00 for a trade in. Bummer
I like the scout bobber twenty with the mini apes...
Nice review / video. I agree that LED's are nice, but regular Scout still has bulbs for some reason.
Own a 2021 Scout. Love the shit outta that bike. ONLY downside is the tank size IMO. Wish it was just a little bigger. But being just south of 50 - it prob is best I stop every 100 miles anyways.
Stuck between a regular scout and the scout bobber, I like the aggressive look of the bobber but I want to be able to cruise with the wife. Is the bobber lower? Compared to the regular scout
Great now I want one !
I didn't know hegshot had a bike review channel right on subscribed
Have been riding a z400 for a year now but want a cruiser. Thinking rogue sixty.....?
Get the 1200 bigger motor and trust me.
The number one thing that Indian ought to do is chsnge the stock seat for the comfort seat. Although the stock seat is very good loking, in reality it is a thing of torture. it is so bad that if I hadn't been able to do something about it I would have sold the the bike !
Do you think it's better than the chief and if so, why exactly? I'm 175 cm (5'9) and I'm thinking of swapping my scout twenty for the chief bobber because the size also fits optically, what do you think of it? Greetings from Stuttgart Germany
Chief has a lag in the Throttle. The Scout bobbers are fast as balls and handle awesome
What about the Indian Challenger?
You must be rich
Check out the greyman sheepdog
Watching thinking it looks like Summerville area then I saw Jeff cook and yep that’s off 26.
I’m 6 foot would I look too big on this bike?
Check out the SRK Cycles video on whether this bike is big enough for a man. Sean is 6 ft. or more, and you can see him riding a Scout.
I hate it that they eliminated the headlight cowling on the 60! All the wires are exposed!
That's a cool bike. But not 5 figures worth of coolness (to me right now). So I'm keeping my Honda Shadow.
Amen 🙏
THAT'S a BOBBER... DUH!!!
Still has no cruise control or gas gauge.
Every bike you can "grow into" as well as "fall down from a mistake".
Why in the hell would you stick that big Warning label right on the gas tank? There are other places on the Indian that the label could be placed. Imo that label ruins the aesthetics of the beautiful paint job. Other wise the Indian line is awesome.
The sticker comes off easily and I also shaved off the "scout" emblem
Bro is rocking an RDS. That's the way to go dude.
i want but i broke also
😭😭
The Scout 60 only exists to sell bikes in Europe for A2 compliance. I wouldn't say it's that much less powerful or really any more beginner friendly than the standard Scout. Honestly, the 60 is pointless in the US. And I HATE that they call it "the 60" because it sounds like it's bigger and badder than the Scout when it's not.
That being said the 60 has better looking colors, blacked out headers, less chrome. It generally looks a lot better than the regular Scouts.
Harley gloves on INDIAN bike ,,fuu blasfemie
Absolutely BS I have a sixty and big bore kit to 1300 even with 5 speed.I keep everyone guessing. Stop the BS
Blah blah blah
5 min of usable info everything else is repitition
Beginner ? ha, a beginner is about a 100 cc, learn to ride in dirt first , if you start with a big bike your headed for trouble.
Just got my ruby red scout bobber and I had a super BIG problem with the bike so when I took it home from the dealership the next morning I wanted to ride and the bike wouldn’t turn on so I had to go and buy a new battery INDIAN change you’re shitty battery PLEASE
