Please do not forget about Mike Campbell(best guitarist ever) & the rest of the Heartbreakers. Without them none of this would have even been possible & they were Tom's brothers. I have loved Tom ever since I was 10, and will always love hi. He was an amazing role model for anyone in music, and spoke up for the common man/underdogs through his music. The common man/underdogs lost an amazing voice!!!
I agree with you about Mike Campbell. Maybe not exactly the best ever (I'd put him slightly behind Jimi Hendrix, Gary Moore and Rory Gallagher), but an excellent guitarist for sure, very underestimated.
Tom Petty was the most sincere man I ever met, you know I, and your millions of fans are heart broken, losing you, we LOVE YOU TOM. R.I.P. rock legend, Thank You for all of the great songs. My feelings and prayers go out to all of Tom's family.

Saw him in Vancouver BC Canada. Best concert ever been to. Saw Chicago, Nazareth a couple times, Bob Seger 3x's Yes 3x's, J. Geil's. The interesting part of the Tom Petty concert is when he opened the treasure chest, that was so cool. Tickets were very expensive. US$40 in 1993. More than worth the price.
Yes, he was. I adored him as a human. Respected him as an artist. Loved him ❤as a songwriter, poet, and storyteller. He is so MISSED😢 Saw him in concert 3 times in Pittsburgh PA
Still hard to believe Tom Petty is gone. I grew up listening to his music. I hope he’s jamming with George Harrison, Roy Orbison and all of the other music greats that have passed.
One of my greatest Rock & Roll memories. On a cold winters night in November, on the 23rd day of 1979 at the Aragon Ballroom in Chicago IL. It was the “Damn the Torpedoes Tour”. Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were totally on fire 🔥
...this whole band works together locked in sync. ...everyone works at their craft to serve the song, only! ..achieving perfection! ...everybody's on the same page, no matter what the song.
O mannn favorite artist hands down nobody else even close. I'm only 38 but this is the one artist I grew up on most. Was my Dad's favorite, he spent his teen years in south Florida around the time they were coming up. He played the greatest hit album seemed like every time we got in the car and liked to subliminally teach life lessons through Toms lyrics and they still resonate. Somehow highly regarded incredibly world wide popularity and at the same time highly under rated imo. So grateful and lucky I was fortunate to see Tom and the Breakers 3-4x live, great memories.
Scott Thurston, exceptional talent. His work outwith The Heartbreakers, equally impressive. Personally he and Jackson Browne doing J.B.'s Sky Blue and Black in a rehearsal studio and then in concert with the full J.B. band and vocalist additions ,is pretty near as perfect as it gets ,for me.
If you ever need to learn how to be in a band and to collaborate successfully, you should listen to this. Tom’s vocals, Mike’s perfect playing, Scot’s beautiful high harmonies, Ben’s vocals and fills. The flawless rhythms of the bass and rolling drums. Magic.
Consider yourself blessed if you've been to a T.P. concert. T.P. made his fans lives more tolerable with music over the decades. Know T.P. absorbed all the love from him millions of fans...Life so well lived !! R.I.P. my brother ....
...being the bass player in ANY incarnation of the Heartbreakers, would be a tough gig, inasmuch that Tom played bass, ..and could be hypercritical of that role. ...but, this song as much as any, showcased Ron Blair's style and influence to serve the song in the best way possible. ..Kudos to you, Ron, and to the rest, who ALWAYS fine tuned a song to get the best out of it, ..and of course, to TP. ...DAMN, gonna be missed for too long!
Theron Hood and myself saw every Petty and Breakers from 86 till the last one I saw before he passed he was the greatest songwriter ever soundtrack of my life Thanks TP and BReakers for all the awesome music!!!
In that case my I take you out to lunch when the restaurants open back up? Do you live in Seattle cuz I live on Vashon a ferryboat ride away. We would have fun......
One of my favorites that never made a big splash, great guitar work, sad that T.P is no longer with us, condolences to his family, he will be missed and toured right up to his death, thanks for all the great music Tom!
Thank God for giving us Tom Petty, our hearts love appreciate & needed you, your songs gave excellent common sense advice! Until we meet again watch over us, please hugs xxoo Dorianne Mosich one of many huge fans thank you!!
He always makes me smile. Because he is such a light ☀️ Whenever he has a Instrument in his hands, in pictures or in Concert. Thank you Tom Petty !! 💜 You are the greatest musician in the Universe.
People are always talking, I love TP and the Heartbreakers, they have so much talent, breaks my heart that TP is no longer walking among us, until you have lived with so much pain in your body, you have no idea what you would do, it was an accidental death and I believe that, when the pain gets so bad your mind goes to places, I am thankful I made it through that time in my life..this is my lil grandchilds pic I am showing, I am blessed..wts syds gran
A fan since I was a kid, heard Petty, on local radio station, was hooked for decades, the passion he was able to share through his music, that's priceless. I recently wrote a book inspired by Tom Petty's music. "The Dogwood Discovery " by Thomas C. Stuhr ❤❤
What an amazing musician!!! So talented. I love Tom Petty and all his songs. Wish I could have seen him in concert. I would have been dancing my ass off!!!
To see Tom and The The Heartbreakers live is one concert I will never forget, I got to meet Tom and the band way back in 1990.He was so humble and gracious, just so nice, he loved his fans but he never should of gone on with the tour before he died, I miss him dearly.
I was fortunate to see Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers 3 times in concert. During one of the concerts, Stevie Nicks walks out on stage and sings with the band for several of the songs. It was a phenomenal show.
Missing you Tom Petty! Still loving you and your music. Still after all these years. I remember 1979 when I first heard the heart breakers. What a great time.
Tom, you are the legend that will never be out done. You will live in infamy. This world has lost a great soul when you left us. Peace to you and thank you for all you gave to make this corporate hell hole a better place. We love you.
Saw Tom and the heartbreakers with Nils Lofgren in 1976 maybe 77 in Birmingham UK . Thought he was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC. Can't believe he's gone . He had so much more to offer. So good that the guys in the band all stuck together without all that stupid tension that so many bands have. Won't say God rest as I am an athiest .But will have super memories. Thanks Tom .
Boy are we gonna miss this Icon, Imagine watching the Beatles On Ed Sullivan and going after and playing with them, Serious Songwriting Genius, Great Band

Thank you Barelypostvids for the clip. I was listening in a compare and contrast with Blackberry Smoke's version. Love 'em both. Wow 14 years ago... The Smoke are still going strong and often to Tom Petty covers. And oh so well, in my opinion. Rock on.
Omg, now this was a concert! Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers was one of the greatest concerts I have ever seen, three times! Go see Mike Campbell and The Dirty Knobs! I just saw saw them and Steve Ferrone was on drums! I miss Tom so much, but these guys, and Howie and Stan, were what made Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers
He looks like the king of the world here--and so happy. Thanks for everything you gave us, Tom. RIP dear one.
Mike Campbell killin' it again!
I love the sound he makes with it. It’s like a sunburst!!
I am so blessed i got to see him live before he passed. Im not big on celebrities but Tom Petty just a talented guy making good music. Bless him
I saw him about 4 months before he passed away and I'm so glad I did!!
Fuck I love this bloke. Never got the acclaim he deserved.

Not even top 50. Dimebag is probably the best ever.
Definitely top 25...I love Dime too dude, but I’m not blinded by it and can acknowledge other styles of music....you narrow minded tool
Stevie Ray Vaughan is the best by far
My momma plays keno better than all you foo's
For people who weren't there, the heartbreakers were already considered one of the best bands in the world....

I saw him in concert a few months before he died. My father died the same weekend the end of September/first of October 2017 😢
My biggest regret ever was not seeing a Tom Petty concert. He was a magnificent and brilliant musician/song writer.

I’m glad I saw him Twice. Baton Rouge and New Orleans. 😊TP and the Heartbreakers were just incredible.
Never a so-so song! Hit after hit! Must listen day after day. This is rock and roll!
No shit! Hit after hit!
Think you are going to take her away with your money and cocaine....wow. The guy was real deep and genuine.
So true! I can’t think of a so-so song by Tom Petty. One of the greats.
Truth!!
its nearly impossible to have a favourite Tom Petty song this has to be a contender?
Tom and the band Never disappoints. The Best!

I was at that show- my first one and never missed a tour. Saw his final Chicago show at Wrigley. Still can’t believe he’s gone 7 years later
I hope when I get to heaven that I will finally get to see you live in concert

Scott Thurston was the perfect compliment to Tom's voice!
Howie Epstein was Tom's favorite high harmony singer, but Scott is great too.
