One of the most fun concerts I ever went to was Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in Milwaukee on July 5th, 2017, with my dad. It was a feel-good concert that was so much fun, and sadly he passed away just a few months later. Saw Tom for the first time at the paramount theater in Seattle in 1979. The local radio station KISW gave away Tom Petty tuxedo jackets to the first 300 people inside, I still have mine, I’m 62 now . Damn where has the time gone. Sad Tom is gone now.
I was at that show as well, right after XMas 1979, Damn the Torpedos tour. Missed out on the jacket as my friend locked his keys in the car and we had to wait for a locksmith. Cheers!
On July 13th, 1985, I finally was able to discern "Out on 441...". We spent hours and hours in college trying to decipher what he was saying. I will never forget that day, watching the concert in my shitty apartment with about 20 friends. Oh to be young again.
Man this music and these players... this will turn into a treasured religion. If you go deep enough you’ll find that it’s all there... and you’ll “get it”on a subtle level. This performance flashed it’s colours.
I remember back in the early 80s me and a couple buddies went to see him every time he came close to St Louis right around the time Damn The Torpedoes came out. People were saying who’s Tom Petty. We knew. A year later everyone else did too. Then they knew why we were such fans
Saw Petty a bunch of times in the 1980's and he was great every time. The band was so tight and together. Nice to see Howie Epstein in this one; great bass player and song writer. Petty had so much fun watching others have fun~that's what I remember most about Petty!
I am continually tempted to risk saying that Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers is the greatest American Band of all time. They are very much the reason I started playing guitar...I love Mike Campbells always appropriate riffs...he's a guitar hero for me because everything he plays is about the sonf first and not about him. He has plenty of solo chops, but just play solos for the sake of playing a solo...very much like Elliot Easton of The Cars.
It was a wonderful performance!!!! I remember it perfectly back then .......Great to see him wearing these McGuinn granny glasses .... Miss him so much.....
They really had a great sound crew, you can really hear what made them so fantastic not only the music but the vocals. And you can actually hear each individual person singing backup, a great live performance! They knew how to do it over the top every time!❤❤
Sometimes I can't believe that Tom Petty is no longer with us. But his music will always be alive.

His posters were all over my bedroom walls when I was a senior in high school. 1983. Tommy Petty lives on forever !
Jfk stadium....the spectrum and the vet. All gone...like this era of music 😢. What a day for rock..thanks Bob.
RIP the coolest man in rock history his duets with Stevie Nicks bring tears to my eyes.
Keith Isaacs
Insider is beautiful. Did you know that Fleetwood Mac(with Mike) play Free Fallin with Stevie on lead vocal at every performance now?
He learnt the gift of turning emotions into the gift of music
probably the best thing to come out of Florida....second place ...oranges

PENNSYLVANIA USA ❤️ UNBELIEVABLE
Man this music and these players... this will turn into a treasured religion.
If you go deep enough you’ll find that it’s all there... and you’ll “get it”on a subtle level.
This performance flashed it’s colours.
I remember back in the early 80s me and a couple buddies went to see him every time he came close to St Louis right around the time Damn The Torpedoes came out. People were saying who’s Tom Petty. We knew. A year later everyone else did too. Then they knew why we were such fans
What a great performance of an American anthem. Kudos!
Six years before "Silence of the Lambs" made this song even more epic than it already was.
Saw Petty a bunch of times in the 1980's and he was great every time. The band was so tight and together. Nice to see Howie Epstein in this one; great bass player and song writer. Petty had so much fun watching others have fun~that's what I remember most about Petty!
This is absolute fire
Nobody like Tom never will be he was BEAUTIFUL
Unnaturally clean sound for a live performance.
Anything from, this event brings tears to the eyes. A never to be repeated show. Every performance was as good as any of them will ever be.
Tom and Heartbreakers are my wounded knee cause i never went to see them.. Now it has been couple of years impossible. Love them and missing Tom
I remember this day. It was over 90 and they were watering down the fans.
