This video makes me wish NRK had a Slow TV special with Arne and Carlos.
Knitting my first pair of Pairfect socks while watching Arne turn the heel. Such a relaxing treat.
👍🏻❤️
Yes, please, film a episode while touring the Regia factory! That would be very interesting and you two would be the perfect tour guides! Love you!
♥️
😀
I’ve been knitting, for 40 years. I have learned soo much from you both... I would love to live next door too you..
Thank you Shelia!
Hi everyone, let us know what kind of heels you like to knit?
ARNE & CARLOS I am kind of weak for short row heel. That’s looks nice. I agree sometimes I managed to knit without holes sometimes I got them, but your way to fix it are great. Before I sew it. A tour to Regia factory. Yes! 🙂
I do afterthought heels and am ready to try something new! 😊
The short row heel is a classic.
Hi guys, I have tried them all, but the short row heel is my favourite xx
Just like what you just did. I like the top down with heel flap, reinforced partridge, gusset. I think they look great, are durable and easier than the others. The afterthought heel? I feel the same about those as you do about Magic Loop LOL
I love the fourth easiest sock I learned from my mother and will not change heel flap and gusset fits me great I loved the tips Arnie gave about the holes I pick up stitches to fill the holes every once In Awhile no ones perfectLol
No one is perfect and hand made means a few errors here an there, makes it more authentic!
German short row is my fave. Love it! Thanks boys! Denise from Texas
Thank you for watching Denise!
I will improve my socks skills a lot, thank you! And so nice to watch too ☺
You asked for our favourite socks and I like to knit a short row heel , in German Wickelmaschenferse (wrap-and-turn-heel), combined with a gusset of 5 stitches increased for the best fit for my feet. With this technic I don't get the coloured strip over the top of the foot, you get with some other short row heels.
And I really would like to see the yarn production. My grandma who died two years befor at the age of 99 always watched when I knitted socks and she couldn't understand who the pattern came out of this one thread of wool. It fascinated her totally. I wished she could have seen that how the pattern is printed on the thread.
And I admire Your pelagorniums! So beautiful collection
Hi Juliane, thank you os much for sharing!
😍😍😍I can't even begin to knit the spiral sock bought the pattern and yarn pretty much ruined
Will try this one out 🤓🤓🙈🙉🙊❤️🐶👌🏻💯😘
Good lucke Joie!
Great tutorial like always!!! I love that yarn and the pattern that creates! Thanks for sharing! ❤️❤️
Thank you for watching Sonia!
I love the short row heel. Fits perfectly.
Great!
Informative and lovely as usual. The color of the sock yarn against the tablecloth and the yellow butterfly....gorgeous. The sound of the windchimes in the background...so peaceful. Thank you both.
Robbie Anderson you are welcome!
Thank you for the useful video. I love how chilled Arne is about his knitting. I will do my first afterthought heel on the socks I am making at the moment. Have a great week. C and G.
Catherine Hastings thanks for sharing. Have a great week!
Knitting socks 🧦. Knitting Arne&Carlos socks 🧦. My happiest place. Never ever stop designing sock 🧦 yarn 🧶. 💙💚💛🧡💜❤️
Thank you Shirley, never stop knitting those socks!
I couldn’t stop even if I tried. 🤪
👏🏻
I am knitting my first pair of socks! the way you did the heel flap looks so much easy!! I am going to try your way on my next pair of socks!! thank you for showing us how its done!!
Hi Jackie, glad you liked it. Good luck on your knitting.
Thank you so much Arne and Carlos, it’s always a pleasure. ❤️😁👍🏻
Thank you!
Beautiful textured heel, I only knew the ribbed one. Thank you both very much for the tutorials and creating my favorite yarns. ♥
Thank you Nutty! Glad to hear that you like our yarns.
Yes. That would be so interesting to see the factory. ❤️
We might have to do that one day.
I love Regia yarn. I would very much enjoy a tour, if they would permit. An unfolding pattern makes sock knitting so enjoyable. Thanks for the podcast.
Hi Terry, thank you!
I love your calmness , with the way you knit. I want to knit a pair of socks, but it’s like as if I am frightened to start a pair. I shall keep watching your channel and I will build up the confidence to cast on a pair. By the way I love the blue and pink yarn you are knitting with, it’s beautiful. Thank you for your videos 💞💞💞🧶🧶🧶
Hi Alfies, just try knitting a pair and then you can try, it is always good to just start. We have done several tutorials on sock knitting
I knitted socks with this technique before but I always found the decreases difficult after picking up the stitches. Your way seems much better than how I learned. I am looking forward to trying it on my next pair of socks. I am not much of a sock knitter, but you make sock knitting stylish and very cool -- just like everything you do. Thank you for being here every week. In a world where things get a bit sad and confusing, you bring warmth and brightness and that makes a big difference. Thank you.
Thank you for those kind words Dawn!
I love this yarn! I've hand knit socks and also made socks on my antique auto knitter with it and both are my favourite socks! Just bought a couple more - Fall Night and Summer - and can't wait to knit these! So nice to wear in our cold Alberta winters. This tutorial is so great! It's always been the most difficult part of my hand knit socks to pick up the stitches and now I don't have to stress anymore. And instead of just following the pattern row by row doing the short heel it makes sense what I'm doing. Thank you for all the help!
Thank you for sharing Connie, glad you liked the tutorial.
I really enjoyed the lake view through de window. Great video, thanks!
Thank you for watching Marcia!
Thank you for another great tutorial! I knit my socks top down, one at a time with a heel flap and gusset...that is easiest for me and great fit🤗
Teri Chairelli thanks for sharing!
Arne and Carlos I’m a beginner sock knitter and I love watching you. Would love to see yarn factory
Hi Ginger, thank you for watching!
This has a very good explanation of the Regia yarn will the yellow lead. And of course a good demo of the heel.
Thank you Susanna!
Hi, I have always done a short row heel, but I am interested in the way Arne is turning the heel. Love your tutorials and blogs. Thank you both. Xx
Pamela Shaw you are welcome!
So soothing
Thank you!
Hello ArneCarlos
Thanks for taking the time to make your tutorials.
Carlos i absolutely adore your shirt. So chic.
sharon gibson thanks for your comment!
I have made one Easiest sock. Will make the other! Thanks!
Love the after thought heel, you gave me the confidence to try it. Am working the spiral now and it is so portable for traveling ,no paper pattern to carry. Must try this new one. 😘for Freya she keeps the moose from eating the flowers.
We will pass on your smiley!
Love you guys. I love the pairfect yarn so much. I've already knitted several pair of socks in it and am getting ready to order Star Night Color to make socks for my cousin;s birthday. Thanks you all you've taught me.
Wow, that is impressive. Hope your cousin likes your socks!
This is going to be so helpful to new sock knitters. Wish it had been available when I began sock knitting. I like knitting flap heels best, but it was an adventure learning. Your tutorial Is AWESOME.
Thank you so much Pamela!
This is the heelturn my grandmother learned me, it's very traditional in the Netherlands. I've tried other heels, but they don't fit me very well, so I always make this heel.
Good to know!
Thank you for including the shoe size that you're knitting the sock for - it's very helpful.
You are welcome Cynthia!
love the socks love the colours great work I love colour
Thank you Pamela!
Thank you for such clear instructions. I always have such a mess on this but now everything is clear and I am making it so neat.
We are glad you found it useful
Thank you for the tutorial. You are both masters. I have finally nailed knitting socks on dpn’s. Whoohoo!!!!
I would love you to take us on a tour through the Regia factory. I love knitting socks, at one stage there I thought it was not possible lol. Thanks guys. Have a awesome day🤗 happy knitting from Australia. God bless you both.🧶🕊🧶
Thank you ! Certainly do inspire me I’ve just done heel flap and adding on stitches same as Arne!, see you both on Sit & Knit 🧶 for bit! X 🥰
👍🏻
Nice colour combos in these sock yarns!
Thank you Anne!
Me encanta todo lo que hacen!😁🤩
Love your videos. Seeing yarn made would be interesting. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks
Linda Wellinghoff you are welcome 🙏
thanks for the tutorial! always love to watch you XX
Thank you for watching Paula!
I would really appreciate seeing the yarn being made/printed. Seriously a beautiful sock heel, I couldn't comment any further on making the socks but I am now aware my heels and socks are so boring 😄 Thank you for explaining the difference between the yarns/wool. Happy week 🌞 🐾
You are welcome, enjoy your week!
Seeing the Regia factory sounds very interesting. I recently "discovered" your videos and love watching you. Interesting tutorials and I enjoy hearing your stories/comments. Thank you!
Welcome to our channel!
Hello Arne and Carlos..great turning of the heel. I’m knitting socking for the kids for Christmas..2 more pair to do. I love the heel flap I will try that on next pair. Have a great evening.
Enjoy your evening to Lisa!
Hi Arnie Carlos I have made a pair of socks with regia yarn and am half way through making a second pair . The yarn is amazing I am pleased you mentioned the new range of colours I will be looking at those soon . Thankyou for your videos they are very helpful 👍👍💖
Glad you liked it Kath!
Thank you guys, enlightening and entertaining as always. I have about 8 balls of the “Carlos and Arne” yarn lol. My yarn store emailed me a week ago that they received a new shipment😊. Unfortunately, I’m one of the people who gets the occasional hole. I am working on the spiral socks for my grandson. Finished my granddaughters awhile ago. Sock number 4 is the pattern I use mostly. Haven’t tried 1 or 2 yet. But I will. Love the butterfly table cloth. Butterflies are my weakness. Thank you for all that you design and share.🧶🧶🧵🇨🇦
Thank you for your continued support!
That would be super cool to see! Thank you for another wonderful video.
Thank you for watching Makayla!
I knitted my first pair of socks recently with the easiest pattern in the world - it was fine, so I’m sticking with that for now! 🙂
Glad you found it useful Wendy!
Thank you for a great sock video! I've knit the second easiest sock several times now with your Regia yarn and book and it is a great pattern. I've also tried knitting heel flaps and your video solved some problems I had. Your instructions are very clear. PS. Your geraniums and the lake are always a perfect backdrop. Hoping we get a chance to see you in Sydney.
Hi you, thank you so much. We are glad the video helped a bit!
Oh yes and they have the yarn at my local yarn shop with your photo and signature! Love the colours! Xx 😘
I love that yarn. I need to get the pattern for “the easiest sock” I haven’t knit any socks yet, but I really want to. You two are great❤️
Good luck with your knitting!
That would be so interested . Can’t wait to see the factory tour. Hope you do it!!
One day!
This is by far the best method I know for both making the heel flap and turning the heel. I just bought some wonderful Lofoten wool and am knitting up a pair of socks for my cousin. For the heel flap, I chose the straight "ski tracks" design 😊 rather than the eye of partridge, as I find it both simple yet so elegant. Arne's instructions on turning the heel and then picking up the stitches from the side are clear and precise, making the whole experience quite simply a magical one. ✨✨✨
Thank you so much!
You are welcome!
I always have knitted toe up socks, but I want to try top down. I like the trangular heel turn you show in this video.
cindy rosser both was work well, so we do recommend you try and see which way you like the most.
Yes would love to see the Regia factory love this sock yarn so fun to knit♥️
Glad you liked it Nancy!
Just knitted the eye of Partridge heel on my 1st pair of Pairfect yarn. It is amazing! Thank-you
We are glad to know that you liked it!
@@ARNECARLOS liked it? I loved it. I was trying to learn short row heel. I didn't like the short row heel. I really didn't want to do a short row. Then I saw you were knitting the pink Pairfect yarn in eye of Partridge. I had an epiphany!
I love the eye of peacock heel, but always forget to use it till I'm half way thru heel flap. As soon as I finish my Orange and Purple socks, I think I need an Arne and Carlos Regia perfect pink and blue sock. Maybe I can try the short row heel on the second or 3rd pair. And Thank-you for letting me know when picking up stitches 9n side of heel that I don't have to have the same number on each side
Hello, I like your tutorial, the socks are beautiful.
Grazyna Praglowska Thanks! I🙏
I've been knitting socks for a quarter-century now, so I've pretty much got the basics. Normally, as much as I appreciate printed yarns, I don't tend to use them because I get bored easily and need more than just plain knitting. (Heels are my favorite part because they are interesting!) However, I did have to get a skein of the Mountains & Fjords because I love ocean/coastline. I'm doing mine toe-up because it's the way I prefer to do socks. Yes, it seems to make the patterning up-side-down. However, when they are on my feet, and I look down at them, I see the pattern right-side-up so _I_ can enjoy them!
Glad you like them!
Nods, I'm going to use this yarn for some fun but I also like my patterns and really don't want to just "knit knit knit."
Another relaxing, informative, and beautiful tutorial! I would love to see the Regia factory also - anything to do with yarn. The greenhouse and lake make for a stunning backdrop for your videos. My grandmother loved geraniums and I love seeing them also. Thanks for the tips on closing holes - it could be applied to armholes as well.
Thank you Lynette!
I love all your tutorials 😍
Thank you so much!
I too would love to see the Regia factory! This is a my favourite heel - I'm a relatively new sock knitter so like things as easy as possible. Appreciate the tips about filling the gaps....thanks!
Hi Mary Anne, glad that we were able to help!
My favourite colour.
Thank you!
I would love to see the Regia factory - that would be awesome! I love knitting socks, I've made 17 pairs since January 1 and my family loves them. Thanks for your excellent videos.
That is imperssive!
Is always fun to watch your videos, I always learn something. I love your table cloth, I love butterflies. And I love you both. Have an amazing week. PS. I would like to see the factory, and the assembly line. That will be a very interesting experience.🤗😘 🤗😘
Areli Avendaño Thanks for your comments!
Yes! Please!
Thank you!
Darn it Arne you knit so effortlessly. Very relaxing video as usual. I bought a few skeins of this sock yarn I just have to finish other projects before I can knit some socks. Enjoy your day.🌻also so glad to hear you bought new scissors!!!😋
😂😂
Would love to see the Regia factory...thank you for another educational podcast 🤗
You are welcome Pat!
i would love to see how that yarn is made! it would be very intresting
😀
this was great I did not see the link to learn how to fix the holes? thanks for being you!
Hi Mary, here is the link! studio.ua-cam.com/users/videoUMWRP26WlOE/edit
Oh I Love The Butterfly Tablecloth., So Pretty!! I'm So Glad That I'm Able To Buy The Yarn You Have ... Wasn't Able To Buy Some While Back.. Was Low On Funds... I'm A Beginner In Knitting.. Love To Do Socks.... But Never Had The Right Yarn To Work With... You Have To Have The right Tools To Be Able To Knit...😁👍 I Enjoy Watching your Podcast... Going to be able to order other things down the road... Yay!!😁👍😊 Happy Knitting...
Thank you for supporting us and keep up the good work.
Arne makes it look so easy.... I must try a top down sock - soon :)
Yes, do that and let us know how you got along.
Hello to you both. I would love to see the Regia mill. Thank you for this tutorial. I am watching these tutorials over and over again so when I begin my first sock, I'll be ready.
Good luck!
I'm going to try the spiral sock
Here is a link to the tutorial: ua-cam.com/video/6PGhZflkJEU/v-deo.html
Would love to see a video visit of Regia being made. Look forward to your video every Sunday! Thank you!
Thank you Lennie!
Good evening guys you both look very handsome and the view is totally amazing behind you. Yes that would be great if you visited the Regia factory. Your designed yarns are amazing. This has been a very interest video. Well as usual you have both been a breath of fresh air xxxx
Thank you for watching Christine, glad you could join us.
I would love to see the Regia factory if you can go, I would watch it for sure. I am like Arne, sometimes I have a hole in the corner and sometimes I don’t.
Thank you Pam!
I will try the spiral for my niece and make it long also
Howdy!! Thanks for sharing this heel 'trick'. I learn something new and fascinating each time I watch your videos.Very inspiring!
What a great idea to watch Regia create their/your yarn. I'd love to see the process.
I never used to knit socks because the heel always befuddled me. Thanks to all your great tutorials and videos, [and the patience that comes with age], I pick up my sticks and knit a pair now and again. I really love the spiral sock though!! They're really comfy too! 😍
Thank you once again for sharing your expertise with us, in a beautiful idyllic setting, with soothing chimes in the background. Go get those moose Freja!! 😉🐶 Woof!
Thank you for watching Jody!
As always, a fabulous video. I would love to have a tour of the Regia factory where the yarn is painted. I never really thought about how it was created, always thought it was dyed. Painting is a new concept for me. Lovely views in the background.....tell Freya to leave that moose alone, it's bigger than she is 🐾🧦❤
We will😂
Love your videos. Your short row heel is my favorite. I sometimes add a small stockinette heel flap to it for my daughter with a high arch. Love to see a tour of Regia, too. FYI A partridge is a bird - so the pattern on the heel looks like a birds eye.
Thank you for sharing!
Hi Arne&Carlos,
I have not made a pair of socks yet, I would love to have a go:)
May be the first easiest pair of socks would be good🧦
Would be interesting to see how they make the sock yarn.
Thank you for sharing
KimX
Thank you Kim!
That would be great I would love to see that you guys go
Great, we will look into doing that.
I enjoyed this video. thank you.
my favorit socks is short row heel socks.
for example,Cat Bordhi's sweet tomato heel and Inoga's . (猪谷さんの靴下)
Thank you for sharing!
Love the video enjoying looking at the lake through the windows of the greenhouse. Hopefully will see you knit city in the market place on Saturday in October.
BrambleKnits 🇨🇦
Glad you liked it!
Hi! Use the yellow for the center of flowers! Knit flowers... OR yellow could be bees! I used to do heel flap, now use my take on After thought... but I wanted to do a flap and had forgotten how to do it. THANKS for this reminder! ~Marie
You are welcome Marie!
Dear Arne & Carlos.
Thanks a lot for your new video above!
Yeah - I would like to see how Regia is printing the colours into the yarn. That would be very interesting for me.
I like to knit the first easiest heel and at the moment I finish the second sock on Regia Pairfect Color 09134.
Cool,.
I would love to see a factory tour video of how the Regia yarn is made! La oss gå,...All aboard! 🚂😂
😂
Would be fun to see a glimpse of the Regia factory. Very pretty tablecloth.🦋
Thank you Sheridan!
I would really enjoy an Arne & Carlos guided tour of the Regia spinning mill.
So would we!
I didn't know it made a difference to use the yarn from the inside or the outside end... I've made all my socks wrong! Compliments on your camera work. It is excellent.
Hi guys, great video, as always. I am currently knitting my first Pairfect pair of sox and was always under the impression that you had to do a short row heel, as in your other video. (Someone told me this, not you 😀) However I’m knitting for Bigfoot and have 72 inches on the needle, 8stpi, and he has a big heel. I’m not sure a heel flap and gusset would work for him with the amount of yarn allowed for the heel, without it changing back to the pattern. On the first sock still. This is my first top-down sock and the pattern keeps my attention, thanks for designing such beautiful yarn.❤️ 💕🧦.
Jenn Biscardi Pairfect will work with any heel type.
I wear a 72 stitch sock :) works fine.
What a lovely sentiment that we're all family ! I haven't seen the video on the reinforced heel, I don't think I've missed any weeks is it on your blog ? i found this method very easy to understand and I loved the sound of your wind chimes, thank you and have a wonderful week ! I would love to see a tour of the Regia factory
Barb Smith that video is coming next week n
Yes, I would like to see the Regina yarn factory on your channel
Thank you!
It would be very interesting to see how make this yarn!
Yes!
I'd love to see the Regia factory, too!!
Thank you Valerie!
The extra yellow yarn could be for stuffed animals. I learned on dpns, using a heel-flap. Then Magic Loop, 2-at-a-time, top down, heel flap. Next, Magic Loop, 2-at-a-time, toe up, Fleegle heel...nice. Will be interested to see your "how to fix holes" sock video. I bought your Pairfect yarn, & rewound so I can knit 2-at-a-time, top down. Haven't knit them yet. Thank you, both. (USA)
Hi Joan, yes, we have collected all of our sock tutorials in one playlist.
I too would love to see how they make the Regia yarn!!
Thank you Rita!
Please do a video showing how that yarn is dyed in such a beautiful pattern! A visit to the manufacturing plant!
Yes!
