I’m knitting your pairfect socks for my son ; I selected them ‘cause I like to knit while praying (asking that God guides his steps through life. ). i don’t have to think meaning im Able to concentrate in getting on tune with the Higher Being. Thanks, QueDios proteja su amor. Pareja maravillosa
That brought tears to my eyes. I have two wonderful grown sons who are doing well and are compassionate, respectful, and so funny. May you be similarly blessed with your son.
I absolutely love your tutorials, podcasts and videos. You portray an almost utopian life together in Norway. I love your videos on knitting, crochet, cookery and gardening. Your home is an absolute credit to the both of you.xAngela
I have never knitted a cuff down sock, and needed a size 13 for my son. I wound the two half’s of the Pairfect so the toe yarn became the beginning, and then knitted the sock toe up. I ended up with size 14’s (which was fine since my son uses a hot dryer), and I used a Sweet Tomatoe Heel for simplicity (STH is worked the same up or down!). I think this yarn works terrific backwards for the larger men’s sizes. The challenge would be decreasing how many grams of toe yarn for the smaller sizes. (You could leave the toe end open, and later frog what length you didn’t need, and kitchner the toe closed.)
I’m a sock knitter and the way I made it work was with a ball winder I unwind the whole skein then rewind it so then I can work my toe up 🧦. It works like a champ and you knit up until you ran outta yarn. You still get the same pattern.
Our knit and natter group have an “ under the sea” project for the shop window display so I am going to use mine to create in crochet some small tropical fish. I think the colours will be great! X Angela
I am rally curious to see what you both will do with the left overs. I use the left over sock yarn to knit Arne and Carlos birds, with the „pairfect yarn“ the result is surprising, and I keep the yellow thread to crochet the beak. Thank you for your inspirational videos😍
How did I miss this video lol. I have several balls of Pairfect. On my second pair, however, this ball is different from other ball. This video answered my concern. Thank you. Great video as usual. Left over yarn, granny squares 😂😂. 🧶🧶🇨🇦
I always make baby-socks with the leftover yarn. But I believe you already know this idea. since you made a video about it in April. Tiny socks are one of my favorite things to make, because my grandmother always liked to do that.
I bought a lovely skein of this. Since I knit 2 socks at once on one long circular, I plan to: - pull out from center until I get to the yellow discard yarn. This ball should be my yarn for sock A. Cut yarn after yellow ends. - use a “ yarn bra” for sock B to keep yarn neat, and continue to pull yarn out from the center of this original skein for my second sock. - knit 2 at a time
Hello Kathryn Stewart, how on earth do you do it? Knitting two socks at a time on one circular needle ....it’s a year ago you you wrote this, but girlfriend I need to know how you do this ,I knit for the needy and cancer patients with Arne & Carlos yarn ....the best !
Thank you for the "Pairfect" yarn...it takes all the thinking out of it for you!! Talk about "mindless Knitting"!! I love it and the yarn is sooooooooooo beautiful and soft!! Nice on the hands and the feet!! Thank you for taking the time to think it out..so we don't have to do the thinking...instead we get the fun part!! ;0)
Mini socks. Christmas decorations. Clothes for dolls/toys. Crochet/knit mini squares or hexagons for a blanket or cushion. Pom-poms. Hat, mittens or a scarf. So many possibilities!
Another perfect video to add to my list of favourites. Being new to sock knitting you explained the instructions very well Carlos. Thank you to you both.
For leftover yarn uses: I like traditional Christmas. There is so much one can do with the bright yellow for children with hats and gloves for gifts. One can use the yellow yarn for replacing the wires on ornaments as I lose more of those ornament hangers every year. I've made crocheted stars to decorate the tree. There is a granny square pattern I've seen to make a multicolored Christmas tree skirt. Easter, pom-poms of yellow yarn can make Easter chicks for children's Easter baskets. Yellow is pretty in an autumn display as these days wreathed are used on doors not just for Christmas but with the changing season. Once could use the raspberry stitch and make an ear of corn, for example. I always give things away. To keep using my hands with knitting keeps both my heart and attitude young. I watches a couple of women over a hundred years old who are still knitting and they are right in their minds. There is no drug that can do that. But we can knit ourselves happy and by giving to others what we make, gives a real sense of fulfillment.
Realised I never create for myself but this time I'm going to knit my first ever sock for me! Bought your yarn in Sydney, Newtown actually, whilst teen dgtr in nearby hospital in a really bad way. It was middle of pandemic 2021 and cases all around us, in our motel etc, which could easily have threatened our ability to visit her. Was scary. Finally it's time for me.
Like your postcast every time. I always use the leftovers for my minisocks I share (you remember?;)) to promote the knitting. ((Bye from the Netherlands))
I’m receiving my first skein of this today in the mail. I’m so excited. I found the yarn on Etsy and then I was googling instructions on how to use it so I could be ready and I found your channel. Now I’m hooked and watch at least two old episodes a day! You are both amazing and fantastic!
I love the concept. I have never finished a pair of socks in my life. I have made at least 100 sweaters/pullovers/jumpers, no socks. This might be the pair.
I save all of my leftover yarns and, matching them by gauge, knit scarves. You start with one leftover and knit until done than start on the next. I don't worry about colors just keep knitting. Have knit several scarves thisccway and always get complements.
A year or two ago I knitted two pairs of socks with Regia which I still have. Unfortunately, carried away by my success, I went back to the retailer and purchased a very reduced- price ball of Regia in the "Seconds" section which had come undone a little this was a disaster and I got in a very time consuming muddle before giving up ! However now I shall start another pair keeping to the rules so clearly explained by yourselves !
I think you two will knit or crochet a book of the left over yarn, like the pages will actually be yarn not paper. If not you should because your yarns are wonderful.
I love knitting socks! I’m going to have to buy some of this yarn and give it a whirl. You guys are always patient and helpful. BTW, I understood your directions in the first video. ; )
I knit top down afterthought heel so I guess I can cut off the blue yarn where heel is and continue in the design part and finish to and then take blue yarn I cut and do the heel. I have a big foot size 42 but like a shorter rib at top so i guess i would have to cut some yarn off. Him I'll see if my yarn shop has this yarn. Thx for video! I am learning to do an afterthought thumb on mittens...lol..
I'll take my leftovers and put some of them in my bee keeper's quilt, or keep them for future cuffs/toes/heels, or add them into a Sockhead hat or make an odd pair of socks
I need to find or make sox with that nice rib at the top and no elastic. Nowadays, there is always elastic and I just can't use it. Recently I got some very cool shoes with orthotic inserts, so my walking is much better. Now I need some great sox. Maybe this will do it.
I've had a horrible start to my sock !! I don't know how to do the strange cast on and when I pulled the yarn from the middle I got a great tangled ball. Patience, I will overcome !!!
When Arne says he does two rows of the blue-- does he mean in the round or just for the heel? How does he avoid the hole in the corner? Otherwise this is my favorite pattern and these are my favorite designers. I even mastered the Norwegian purl as a combination knitter whose roots are in Eastern Europe and Ireland.
BergletteMom Yes. Pull yarn from inside. Cut yellow thread. Knit first sock. Continue pulling yarn until yellow thread again. Cut and knit second sock.
Ha! Ha! Ha! You two crack me up! Love the Pairfect yarn and love both of you. I will hunt on your page to see if you have any tips for closing the toe ...PERFECT..without those ugly ears than seem to want to pop out.
I knitted mine toe up from the toe yarn not the cuff down. Here’s how it worked for me. I knitted toe up until my toe was long enough for me. I then cut the yarn and picked up the colored part of the yarn for the foot. Knitted until I needed the heel to start and drop the colored yarn, picked up the blue heal yarn. Continued to knit to the blue cuff yarn until it was long enough. Done. And it’s perfect for my foot. All of the blues are where they should be located.
Hello from North Carolina, USA! I LOVE your videos! Purling has always kept me from knitting as much as I wanted ...until I taught myself the Norwegian way by watching your videos! Thank you so much! I prefer making socks on DPNs and have recently found the method for doing two socks at once on DPNs. (It seems to be a double knit, really). I was wondering if you would consider doing a tutorial for this method? I’ve tried following other videos, but I end up getting lost. Also, could you cover in a bit more detail, how you are holding your yarn in order to control the tension? I have found that with the Norwegian method my stitches are very loose and bordering on messy. How do I correct this? Sorry for so many questions and thanks again for the wonderful tutorials!
Making a couple of pairs of kiddy socks for Christmas using your regia pairfect kids color. What a fun and interesting concept and pattern! My project for this entire day has been researching how to knit the Boomerang aka German short row heel! I’m really having trouble with this method since I’ve always made a heel flap and gusset and am familiar with that method. I heard you say in this podcast that you can actually make the socks without requiring the german short row method?? Please please confirm this for me Carlos!! I’m sitting here with half completed socks waiting for confirmation on the heels?! Thank you thank you in advance. 💖⭐️
If you knit the heel afterwards there will be solid blue color stripe somewhere between the colorful section but that doesn't matter actually. At least that's how I see it. Then you'll have plenty of blue color for knitting the afterthought heel.

I made a pair of tiny fingerless mittens for my daughter using the leftovers! She has very thin hands, so it was pairfect too!
I have never knitted a cuff down sock, and needed a size 13 for my son. I wound the two half’s of the Pairfect so the toe yarn became the beginning, and then knitted the sock toe up. Excellent explanation! Makes “pairfect” sense 😀
Thank you for the tutorial. You men are fabulous.
Arne, you knit so fast and beautifully! Will you every make pairfect yarn made to knit from the toe up?
I’m a sock knitter and the way I made it work was with a ball winder I unwind the whole skein then rewind it so then I can work my toe up 🧦. It works like a champ and you knit up until you ran outta yarn. You still get the same pattern.
Great video guys, thankyou. I use my leftover sock yarn to make little double sided stuffed hexagons to join into a warm blanket or throw.
Our knit and natter group have an “ under the sea” project for the shop window display so I am going to use mine to create in crochet some small tropical fish. I think the colours will be great! X Angela

This yarn absolutely amazes me! Fabulous colours. Thanks Arne and Carlos xx

More “mindful” than mindless! Enjoy the experience. ❤️❣️🌹
Thanks Arne and Carlos. I use my rests to create accessories for pets. Have a nice week 😊

Genius ! This yarn is perfect (Pairfect).
Can't wait for the leftover sock yarn idea! I have so much of it.
Great video, I’m thinking I’d like to give this a whirl, thanks for sharing 👍❤️👍
😍 I love this concept, shopping for Regis, Pairfect right away.

Thank you, this explained a lot and also hopefully I can knit a pair of size 46 for my husband.
Thanks boys! I think the leftovers are just perfect for a blanket! Or cushions, or birds, christmas balls, mittens, or scrappy socks! Am I right? ;-)
I love this yarn !! This yarn does all the work for you!!

Hi guys love your work and your helpfull videos I would use the left over for a blanket
I was thinking with the left over yarn you can make leg warmers
Cool I Like This !! Now I Got To Get Some Of This Yarn... I Love The Design... I Just Got Some REGIA- 4- PLY... 😊☺😁👍
Thank you for supporting us.
I am from México
You can add the next videos with closed caption, plis. You are both unbelievable!
Hi Arne & Carlos. I use leftover Regia for christmas balls.
Oh my goodness, the socks are beautiful...🤗
Thank you!
Thanks for clearing that up!
thanks for this video...I have to ask...Carlos...about the sweater he is wearing in this...I LOVE IT...did you make it and Can I get the pattern?...
It’s fun to do a scrappy set of socks because your leftovers are in twos so the socks will match but they will be the scraps from any other socks
👍🏻
A year or two ago I knitted two pairs of socks with Regia which I still have. Unfortunately, carried away by my success, I went back to the retailer and purchased a very reduced- price ball of Regia in the "Seconds" section which had come undone a little this was a disaster and I got in a very time consuming muddle before giving up ! The bright yellow marker yarn is good for waste yarn for afterthought heels and thumbs. It contrasts with the working yarn.
Thank you for sharing
Thank you, love you guys!
What kind of heel was knitted in this video? Short row? I am looking forward to making these!
Awesome, thank you both. ❤️
Hola que lindo tejen soy nueva en su canal soy de Uruguay 🇺🇾 me encanta tejer estoy aprendiendo a tejer medias con 2 agujas saludos 🤗 🇺🇾
I want to see that painting with the hands behind you! It looks like maybe Schiele or Lautrec.
Love that idea!! Thank you!
I can't wait to try to make a pair. The colours are wonderful and your explanation seems easy to follow. Thanks.
You are welcome Deirdre! Good luck.
se ven lindisimas sus lanas y sus trabajos!!
Hi Arne…how do you knit without looking at the project? Thank you, both of you for your video.
Use the left-overs for darning 💪💪
I knit top down afterthought heel so I guess I can cut off the blue yarn where heel is and continue in the design part and finish to and then take blue yarn I cut and do the heel. I have a big foot size 42 but like a shorter rib at top so i guess i would have to cut some yarn off. Him I'll see if my yarn shop has this yarn. Thx for video! You guys are adorable and the perfect yarn is genius, excited about loom knitting a pair with my first Pairfect.
❤️👍🏻😍
I get it, but I have an aversion to things like this. Thank you for explaining.
You are welcome.
I'll take my leftovers and put some of them in my bee keeper's quilt, or keep them for future cuffs/toes/heels, or add them into a Sockhead hat or make an odd pair of socks
I simply adore you two!!! Hugs!
I think so too ! They are Pairfect.....
I agree! They’re a joy to watch. I look forward to new videos every week. I can’t wait to buy Pairfect yarn soon.
I love this idea, fabulous yarn but I would like the socks longer from the cuff to the ankle
Thank you for your feedback!

Can you guys do crocheted socks. And can you guys do some crocheted sweaters.

Otherwise this is my favorite pattern and these are my favorite designers. I even mastered the Norwegian purl as a combination knitter whose roots are in Eastern Europe and Ireland.
So, one additional question I have is how do you know where to start the second sock? Is there more yellow yarn in the middle of the skein?
BergletteMom Yes. Pull yarn from inside. Cut yellow thread. Knit first sock. Continue pulling yarn until yellow thread again. Cut and knit second sock.
Ha! Ha! Ha! You two crack me up! Love the Pairfect yarn and love both of you. I will hunt on your page to see if you have any tips for closing the toe ...PERFECT..without those ugly ears than seem to want to pop out.
Marlayne Madison you could kitchner stitch the toe, there is a tutorial on UA-cam called kitchner with out ears ❤️
I made mine to up with an afterthought heel so the color for the heel matched.
No I didn't cut it. Not extra work to me. Socks match.....just not like the picture.
Charlotte Knox have you used your leftover yarn for anything? I prefer toe up, and I bought this yarn before realizing it is engineered for cuff-down.
I know this may sound elementary but I am a beginner. Does this yarn only provide one sock per roll? Also what pattern do you use?
Hello from North Carolina, USA! I LOVE your videos! Purling has always kept me from knitting as much as I wanted ...until I taught myself the Norwegian way by watching your videos! Thank you so much!

Love your sock yarn! Pattern calls to cast-on 62 - will the sock work w/ less, for example 56 cast on?
Making a couple of pairs of kiddy socks for Christmas using your regia pairfect kids color. What a fun and interesting concept and pattern! I used larger size needle, for toe up socks(different yarn), on cuff and it called for k1p1. Cuffs were still tight on calves. Any suggestions?
I’m struggling here and need help!!!!!! I can’t find a pattern to add individual toes in these socks. Do you have a pattern??? Pretty please?!?
I wonder how my toe-up crochet socks would look with this yarn. :)
I have done the first sock, love it!
Well done!
love you guys...this is so much fun watching your videos
Great idea!
Thank you!
Re: leftover yarn... Knit a fair isle fisherman's kep it would look wonderful.
How about "mini" socks for a fireplace garland? How cute would that be :)
fantastic colours love you video.
If you knit the heel afterwards there will be solid blue color stripe somewhere between the colorful section but that doesn't matter actually. At least that's how I see it. Then you'll have plenty of blue color for knitting the afterthought heel.
Love your podcast .
Hello, Arne &Carlos, it’s June 5 th, /19Canada sky is gray, but healthy and happy on our 56th wedding anniversary,

This is brilliant - I say that as someone who has made more paris of sock than I could possibly count. I am trying to figure out where I can find your Pairfect yarn in Canada.!

Thank you. Oh...which pattern is cuff down, please?
The pattern is cuff down, the sock is designed like that.
@@ARNECARLOS thank you, I had the spiral sock pattern but I bought *all of them* now so have found the one that suits the pairfect yarn. hooray!
Sock yarn leftovers? Ravelry pattern. Look for the Zick Zack scarf!
Another question dears, does one knit two socks from one pelote (woolball) and if so, where to start for the second sock?????
baby socks, scrappy socks, cuffs, heels and toes for other sock yarn
