For you Joe For my cousin Joe who used to come with me when i did discos at age of 16 back in the days of 1981 and we had good fun, Joe used to carry the records as he had bottle of red wine and weed in the boxs. He always asked me to play this song which i did. Sadly we lost my cousin Joe to cancer, died 25th June 2016 aged 48 and his funeral was this day 5 years ago and as we left the church this started to play Miss you Joe
It's great to see how much this wonderful song means to so many people on here. I'm sorry that it now carries such sad associations for you Anton, as well as taking you back to good times. That happy tune / melancholy words combo must go very deep for you. I'm 56 as well. I'll be seeing BM at Rock City, Nham, on 23/12/21. Never seen them live till now(ish), but got there in the end. All best, and mind how you go.

I had the good fortune to be the tutor of Martin Stewart(keyboards) on a garden design course 35 years after this was in the charts. He's a lovely guy and turned out to be an excellent gardener and designer.

Lol love it. Great days when people use to go out and have a laugh together. Real friends not like it is now. All talk on social media and never go out and talk behind people backs. God I miss them days of being young and free. Love bad manners. Love the saxophones in there music.
I know what you mean. People are so media led that just going out with your mates and having few drinks and dancing doesn't seem enough for them. Gotta be connected to the bloody smartphones and all that bollocks.
Was lucky enough to see Bad Manners live at Bradford Tiffany's with my friends just after they'd released this and the album Gosh ...It's. Great gig, magical times to be a teenager.
top tune from the early 1980s i was only a kid but the 80s was better times no social media and we made our own fun as kid's! i would go back to the 1970s/80s in a heartbeat if time machines existed and stay there until the end of my days! as todays times aint the same! the whole world is mesmerised by unsocial media and brainwashed to the max as their phone is their life and they're being controlled by a piece of glass and plastic 😢
Not a die-hard ska fan here but this track by Buster Bloodvessel and the boys had me hooked from the start. Loved it then and love it now! Buster come back.....we miss you......show them rappers you ain't to be trifled with! :)

They weren't taken seriously in their day, and I don't understand why. They were incredibly talented and would knock spots off current (so-called) performers of today.
Got to say I disagree. Bad Manners were a key part of the ska scene at the time. The only way they weren't taken seriously is they didn't take themselves seriously as can be judged by this and all their other videos & TOTP videos. Same as Madness but obviously didn't clock up as many hits and the Nutty Boys were the official mad uns. I think they just encapsulate the times: all about fun and the music. None of this boring self-centred posing now
This man brought to stage, A real kind of ? If i can do this Any one can, his movements, his weight, and good with it to, lots of energy mate ! Also that big shiny head ! Also a good mix of old great Reggae ! and gave us all a good bit of fun, loved all they did and song ! and he is still the best front man for bad manners ! i have all there music and i love it and them, thank you bad manners for all you have gave us,love to see you always ! cheers boys ! charlie in Kent.

The time goes so fast Covid crippling us all stay healthy and happy god I wish I was still experiencing the 80’s music for the first time. But gasp glad I was there at 10 years of age hearing it so good nothing beats the 80’s except for
I haven’t listed to them in years, and yet to this day, this song and “Lip Up Fatty” are 2 of the songs I subconsciously sing to myself occasionally, that’s how they’ve stuck with me. This one is probably my favourite. When I first saw them on TOTP I was convinced they were a skinhead band because of Buster’s bald head, bovver boot and rowdy, loutish stage antics, and obviously the ska music, but watching them now I realise the rest of the band were anything but. I never noticed the others before because Buster seemed to fill the stage. “Nee Nee Na Na Na Na Nu Nu!!!”

1981 was a mess of a year. People rioted across the country. The only difference is pop music is better
Amen to that 😁
We was in a recession then aswell lol
When a comment from 2019 was considered 'the good times' in 2022 😆
When I'm out walking my dog and the sun comes out this song always pops into my head. Feels good.

"Walking In The Sunshine"
Wet winter left me cold and crying,
Beaten black and blue,
Someone said there's no harm in trying,
Nothing else to do.
I'm just a-walking in the sunshine,
Leave your troubles all behind you,
I think I'll drink a little red wine,
I'll take you where they'll never find you.
Sad songs, well I've heard to many,
Words that didn't rhyme,
Long years never had a penny,
But we spend the time.
Just a-walking in the sunshine,
Try to keep from going under,
I think I'll drink a little red wine,
Ain't no use to sit and wonder.
As I would say?
Autumn eve and the leaves are falling,
Till the trees are bare,
Summer's gone I can hear you calling,
Haven't got a care.
Just a-walking in the sunshine,
Leave your troubles behind you,
I think I'll drink a little red wine,
I'll take you where they'll never find you.
As I would say?
Love the tune and love the video.
