Yeah Monty Python's Flying Circus was a massive inspiration for Madness music videos, you can sometimes see references or very similar things happen in such videos.
I love the fact that they just used a photo of the pyramids and mostly used handheld cameras for filming. You can see the studio floor beneath the sand at many points. It all makes this look so shittily made and that’s why I love it.

This is a pretty sophisticated piece of music ,in terms of the structure, for a bunch of lads barely out of their teens to come up with. The lyrics too, although there aren't very many of them, are pretty great - quite cinematic, you can easily picture every line.
