    Want to stay legal while gold prospecting? This tutorial covers Rules and regulations for Fossicking Licences, State Forest Permits and Miner’s Rights for gold detecting/fossicking in Queensland, New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Victoria.
    I put this together to help gold prospectors and gold fossickers who are new to gold detecting, coming from overseas to gold detect in Australia and people who travel within Australia to gold detect so they can learn whether they need a Fossicking Licence, State Forest Permit or a Miner’s Right. (Little did I know Coronavirus would strike the world but it won’t last forever).

    Isn't funny that national Parks seem to cut into the mining areas. Yet as soon as the big mining companies want to go in their welcomed with opened arms .

    thank you for this video! What are the laws in QLD regarding beaches and non national parks? I'm finding it so hard to find any information for metal detecting. I've already looked at our local council and state websites but it only refers to fossicking for gold not relics coins so on. cheers

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting
      @GoldNuggetDetecting  3 роки тому

      Agree, it’s hard to find info. It seems that each Council has its own ‘regulations’. Beaches are generally ok to detect but parks can be different and may require a permit. I’m sorry I can’t help you more. 😀

    Great Upload 👍
    Fantastic info for newbies.
    There is an area that no one knows in the tibb area that is virgin and has big gold and huge potential, possibly twice as much as the now closed Mt Browne area.
    PS: once the mining company clears outa Browne, it will still hold thousands of ounces of gold.
    Maybe one day...once this BS is over a done with...we should get together and make a vid ?
    I have plenty of private property permission in the nsw central western goldfields.
    Love your work 🍺

    Does that mean in QLD you can only fossick in General Fossicking Areas and private land? What about roadside creeks?

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting
      @GoldNuggetDetecting  Рік тому

      Hi PV, pretty much. My understanding is with roadside creeks, you still have to check if the creek is bordering on a property and find out if you can Fossick there. I also did another video, just on QLD that may tell you more - ua-cam.com/video/DBGUOjpcAVY/v-deo.html

    Is SA so sparse in legal areas to gold detect that you didn't consider it? Most Govt literature just mention Mount Crawford (permit needed) and Jupiter creek both have been thrashed to death. Barossa Valley just about forbidden to detect in where the gold rush was, so looking for other areas other than private property.

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting
      @GoldNuggetDetecting  Рік тому +1

      See my video on SA. I did find it difficult to locate many public fossicking areas in SA. I know there are some private gold lease areas but no good mentioning them as leaseholders won’t let you on. 😀⛏⛏

    This is probably a silly question. Are you allowed to fossick on the sides of roads out in the country?

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting
      @GoldNuggetDetecting  2 роки тому

      That’s not any easy question to answer. The question has been asked on some gold prospecting forums and the consensus seems to be you can pick up an object but digging is not permitted. Some states prohibit digging near infrastructure like bridges over creeks.
      In QLD, you can basically only fossick in designated fossicking areas and GPA’s (or on private property with owner’s written permission).

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting
      @GoldNuggetDetecting  3 роки тому +1

      I could not find anything in my research that indicated overseas visitors cannot purchase a Miners Right in Victoria. Overseas visitors can also purchase a Western Australia Miner’s Right. You would be expected to have some sort of mailing address in Australia.
      Of course, COVID-19 has put a stop on overseas travel at present.

    • @GoldNuggetDetecting

      From what I’ve read, generally it is not sold but from time to time, land the government considers not for the benefit of public use is released or sold mainly for housing. In NSW, this is a link that may interest you - www.crownland.nsw.gov.au/resources/purchase-crown-land
