yes that i wanted to say,. i just found this channel. and the movie quality etc is very good. and the gold too. but the nature is amazing very nice for camping etc. all the best.
Especially when he found that rusting breaking pan. It would interesting to find out how long its been there and who came camping 🏕 there around that time. Doesn't look like they left unhurriedly, hopefully not killed for their find at the time
I see how you use your pan; not just you but Levi & other young fellas. When I first started out with my steel pan all they had was an indented ring an inch from the top edge. The emphasis was put on the constant swirling action of the material in the pan & the gold would be difficult to lose. When plastic pans came out (I still have my original one) they had concave steps on one side like yours does. Rob, you can work the material harder in the pan if it's moving because the gold will always stay at the bottom, irrespective of heavy sands, after all, gold is 24 times heavier than water by volume. Try swirling Rob, truly really. Great shows btw, regards Paul BB FNQld
Miners moss is good for small gold that gets trapped. Try dream mat or one of the others that have larger holes. A shower curtain works well to dam a small creek - weighs little and is quicker than rock walls. Your pan has riffles - use them. Learn to top tap and back wash the magnetite - you lose less gold. Hope that helps.
Well done Rob, pleased to see that you had a great reward for the hard work you put in. Your excitement on finding the shovel just shows your dedication to the history of Tasmania.
I always wonder when they're painting they don't have a pan underneath the panto catch any that may have fallen while they were painting I don't understand why not have another pan underneath
Watching this is very therapeutic. I think the uplifting music at the end is a nice touch, I didn't mind the music in the previous videos but this feels like a nice compromise. Either way, keep up the good work, I always get a little burst of excitement when I see you have a new video out.
Fantastic, nature, history and your good self obviously having a great time,no wonder you slept in such a peaceful place, thanks again for the adventure🎉❤😊
Bro I'm sure you figured this out by now, but you can use the riffles on your Pan to help ensure you keep as much gold in your pan when washing away. The smooth parts are mainly finishing areas. If you did not know this I hope it helps😁
Right on, every time I watch your videos when you're sniping and seeing the gold you find. I always wondered what it would be like to run a sluice on those creeks . Now I know. Thanks for sharing. 👍
good story Rob, thanks. next time you sluice block out underneath it and on the immediate sides of it- especially with your sieve throwaways. lots of flow loss was happening right around the sluice itself.love your work!
btw, i was a pond and waterfall builder for many years and right around and underneathe the top of the falls is generally where all the flow loss occurs.
Gold is actually 3.7 times heavier than magnetite(black sand). I like to keep my water level at least half as deep as the sides of my sluice, and flowing at a rate of about 2 seconds in and out. If the black sand is getting washed out, then lift up the outflow end to slow it down a bit. I also like to use a glass jar as a way to view what is in the sluice clearly. Can't wait to get back at it in N. California.
@@user-im6fy4qp6m It is nice! I lived near Quincy CA for years and spent a lot of time in the Feather. But to find gold there...its been picked over very well, so I found if the dig out cracks and crevices , sometimes high above the water, you will find little nuggets.
Nice work Rob. I'm surprised you and Levi don't do more sluicing on your trips. There's plenty of nice inside bends on your journeys but you guys know the rivers better than us. Thanks for sharing your journey
Well done mate, I would have ran the sluice a little deeper and your looking for a V waterline to pull in evenly at the top end. It’s hard work and loads more equipment to drag around panning, sluicing, and highbanking. Saying that I have done for 15 years and now only less than a year I have found more Gold snipping in one year than 15 years with all the equipment. Much easier on the body too. Love your videos rob. 🙌🏻👍

Well done my brother. That sure looks like alot cooler way of finding gold than swinging a detector over here in Western Australia's 40 plus heat at the moment..😢😢😢😢😢😢
Gold fever will ruin this river once the word is out. I would keep location a total secret even if you're far from the west coast of Tasmania. There's almost 600,000 thousand people that live there that would want a piece of that action. Exciting video to watch.
You'd be surprised but there's more gold still to be found than has been mined in all of human history. In 1900 the entire world's supply was something ridiculously small like 500 million ounces. Since then I think we're probably up around 5 billion ounces but who knows. Also you'd be surprised how lazy people are these days and skeptical. They won't go do the work themselves and they certainly won't help you do it. I speak from experience.
Except majority of that 600,000 are far too fucking lazy to even make the walk there let alone getting in the water to search for hours with no guaranteed outcome and income.
I would definitely do a weigh in on each video. Stay tuned for part two is really annoying to most viewers. You did great and got some beautiful gold to boot.
Ive got a question, can i find gold particles in any river or its a specific one? I would be very excited and happy to find even one small microscopic particle 😂
you can search for areas near you with gold, most places have at least flakes. get yourself a Garret Deluxe Gold pan kit and 2, 5 gallon buckets and go panning. Also, this guy in the video is absolutely terrible in his technique so learn a good technique anywhere else.
I thought we would see Levi because he always takes you along with him when he finds good area's. I really thought you guys were mates but that's what gold does to some people I guess. Cheers
If you're really getting that much gold in just that little creek imagine some big machines and doing four or five acres of that area. You'd be a millionaire
Friend, great adventure.....beautiful place. Just one word of caution to consider. Especially as you were probably in an isolated place. At about the 3:50 mark you are exploring spaces amongst vegetation with plenty decaying organic matter. Consider poking in there with a stick or object first instead of your bare hands.
Another awesome 31 minutes 💯 Thank you The only downside for me is when the music plays louder than your voice. I love the nature sounds. The music does tend to drown out your voice.
Love the videos mate, drop the end of the sluice down for more flow , ideally you want a 9 to 11 degree drop. There are too many crazy people in this world today. (Like Levi) lol😂 God bless , stay safe and keep it Shiny 🍻
Agree, drop the base of the sluice. It doesn't matter if the leading edge fins are slightly cutting the water because it's the water you need. Tip the bottom down. You are finding gold in a fast flowing creek, don't forget that it's the water that shows you the gold in the first place. I put more 'humps' in my sluice to create low pressure points. Good luck Paul BB FNQld
