For anyone wondering where the specimen went well… while eating lunch I was taking a look at it sat it down beside me on the bank of the river and completely forgot to pick it up again, got a few hundred ks down the road then realised I had left it at the river 🥴🥴🥴
There are many gold hunting videos on UA-cam, but there is only one that by far out shines them all, and that is a Tassie video! Always pleased to see you post a top notch video. Keep up the fine work, love it!
So glad to see this video and oh so glad that you have in your application in order to do some more Tazzie snipping. I just love screen capturing Tazzie scenery and then using those shots to do some digital drawing. I’ve told several groups when sharing my art (I’m a beginner) about how beautiful Tasmania is. I hope the government will soon process the paperwork so you can us give us great content and I can continue to share my Tazzie drawings. You have such a great channel.
sooo good to see another episode from ya Levi really hope your issues with Tassi gov get sorted it must be incredibly frustrating to have to deal with all the red tape that the Tasmanian gov is throwing in your face
So good to see you back Levi. We missed you very much and can't wait until you get going again with your great, beautiful quality content to fill your video's. 💯❤🙋🏻👏🏻👍🏻
You had to be dying to get out and get some gold after such a long time glad that you put it into one video instead of two. That specimen was very interesting. If they left that piece there Hass to be more that they left behind. Do you think anyone has metal detected those piles, bummer that you forgot it. Maybe you can pick it up again someday and it will still be there. Great adventure with some nice gold. Congrats to the winners. Thanks for sharing. See you on the next one.👍🏼👊🏼
Great show. Topaz usually tend to have a frosted appearance from stream tumbling. They have a dead flat basal cleavage which is often seen. Diamond have that very bright lustre and distinct crystal shapes though can be rounded (very simplified explanation). Quartz often has the conchoidal/shell like fractures and then there are clear sapphires. I can't tell what yours is from the video.
Welcome back. Good discussion on ABC radio tonight and discussion in parliament today about your situation. Hopefully they will get with the times. Love your content.
@@darrenrsmith7119 being fined for using a drone in national park, taking video footage in a park without a license etc. Tasmania is decades behind the times with regard to modern media and Levi was being "targeted" to set an example... Long story
Wow! I am really enjoying your sniping adventures. I still am amazed of the gold you find having yourself fun what you do. I wish I were younger. I'm 75 from the USA and have been watching you and yor friends for about a year now. I am amazed at your well equiped adventures. Keep it up. Can't wait till the next adventure. Thank you!
Oh gee, l really enjoyed that episode Levi. It's a bit different in NSW compared to what you are used to in Tas. I hope everything is going along OK re Tassy Govt and l pray like crazy that you don't get any fines - you don't deserve any of that being the gentle wonderful person that you are. I think you enjoyed your time in NSW for this episode. Take care my friend. Rememberance to your wife also. She's a good patient lady.
Just found your channel. Spent lots of time in a wet suit doing exactly what you're doing in the rivers of California nearly 35 years ago. What a wonderful time, and your video is bringing it right back. Im ready to dive again... Thanks!
Hey man, I hope this sorts itself out soon, and you don’t have to travel all the way overseas to make content 🙏 Thanks for doing it though, that’s really above and beyond and much appreciated. Always love when a new Tassie video comes up ❤
Good to see you at it again Levi. Even though I have been doing a bit of amateur prospecting over decades you've taught me a lot. I'll take my goggles wherever I go mate. I wanted to share with you that fact that the minute I started watching your clips (6 months ago) I kept saying to the Mrs; "I don't think this guy can do all that there?" I thought the rules had changed because I got caught by Rang'ers on a Qld offshore island going over an iron stone outcrop where my mates & I were swimming. Thinking quickly I told them I was looking for old fishing sinkers & ya never know I might find the odd gold ring. I was using a FT16000. They were nice about it & said I better stop before mainlanders heard what I was doing & then they'd have a problem. I then got the rest of the rules plus a camp visit. I guess nothing has changed with the rules except they will have tightened on all those ones. Good to see you didn't dummy spit too far, lol. Keep going mate, I'm about to start again, thanking you, Paul BB FNQld
Just a quartz crystal you get them up in the hills near the lookout also be careful crossing that fence the owner has cameras on that part of the river / carpark nice work on the gold and love seeing u prospect nsw
That's a pair cactus ,Remove the spikes, peel it like a potato. Boil it like a potato Or leave the skin on and eat it's got a peppery taste The best part of it is if they're in Bloom, the red flower on the top. You don't eat the flower. You eat the pod. That it's coming out of that's called cactus fruit. Remove the thorns and eat the insides
It’s more likely to be crystal quartz Levi. I found one similar here in the river at Collie (coal mining area) and it tested the same. It was in the gravels in the bottom of a boil hole about 4 feet deep in granit & I was hoping to find gold. I actually had it cut (faceted) by a guy in Queensland and it came up awesome - looks to all intents & purposes like a big diamond. I’d encourage you to do likewise & make your wife another gold ring and have it set. Why not? She will treasure it more than any diamond, because YOU found it for her & went to all the trouble to have it cut & set. I can track down the email of the guy who faceted mine if you like? 👍
Love everything about your videos . Glad to see your doing well. I can tell how you put the time in for good quality everything. Thought I would let you know. Thanks for letting us all join you for a bit.
Always love the videos, Levi! Figured I'd start a "glove fund" for ya since they look like they get a lot of wear-and-tear!!! Glad to see you filming in NSW as your TAZ stuff gets all worked out! Thumbs up and kudos from Califronia! All the best!!!
Hey Levi, very nice finds. You might consider metal detecting those tailings from the 2:00 mark of the video. It looked like busted up bedrock, just like the specie. Perhaps that is what they were chasing.

Good to see you back in Tasmania!
Bugger that sounds like something I'd do Mate 😂
😮😂 I recently did that with my pinpointer. Just recently had my GoPro stolen, so I was a tad upset with myself 😜🤦♀️. Great video as always 👍

That topaz really had me going! I was hoping you'd scored a nice diamond! Nice find, Levi!
I love hunts like this! You just never know what you'll find until you find it! Keep on sniping Levi...

title is clickbait
"have i unearthed a diamond?"
nope
Nice one Levi, As soon as I saw blue in that clear stone, I said to myself "it's a topaz".
