Gold Nugget Detecting
Australia
Приєднався 19 тра 2019
This is my channel to show my gold detecting adventures and gold nugget finds. I have also put up instructional videos to help people new to gold detecting navigate their way to gain experience.
I use a Minelab GPZ 7000 gold detector and a Minelab SDC 2300 gold detector to detect for gold nuggets and gold specimen nuggets in all states of Australia.
I don’t profess to know everything about gold detecting and hopefully those who know more will share helpful comments. 😀⛏⛏

#gold nugget detecting # gold prospecting Queensland I’m back out gold detecting, in the winter season, of Queensland, Australia. Gold seems to be getting harder to find. This gold nugget was detected, in extremely hard ground, with the GPZ 7000. The video was edited in a few places to just cut down on footage of me digging away for so long.

Do you have any tips on how to persuade a property owner to let you do fossicking?
Ahhh, the million dollar question 😂. I have assumed you detect in Qld (As per video) 1. Firstly, make sure you have a current d Fossicking License. Section 106 of the Fossicking Act 1994, protects the landowner from civil liability. On the back of the fossicking licence the owner provides written consent (if you get it) for you to be on his/her land and it might give the owner some comfort they won’t be sued. 2. Google search for Fossicking Act, got to Section 106 and print it off. Have it with you, as well as your Fossicking Licence. 3. Research where you want to go on the property so landowner might get comfort that you don’t intend roaming everywhere. 4. Some landowners are not keen to let you camp or may not like dogs, due to livestock. You need your make a good impression and it may take several visits. If you know a local who knows a landowner try getting them to introduce you. 5. Barter - if you’re a tradie (plumber, electrician, fencer) you could try offering work in exchange for detecting time. Also, offer to go 1/3d’s or 1/2’s in finds. 6. If a landowner lets you on, do the right thing by leaving the property as you found it. Use stock gates properly (if it’s open leave open/ if shut shut it). Don’t camp near stock watering points. Tell landowner when you intend to be there and leave there. If the owner is happy with you they may let you back on or even provide a written reference you can use for the next property. Good luck. 😀⛏️⛏️
It's illegal to fossick for gold in an area covered by a mining lease, but what about the Exploration lease? Are those off limits too?
@Gardener7 … I had trouble locating info on this. One friend said ‘ I believe you don’t need permission from the EPM holder but you need permission from the land owner.’ Best to check with - MyMinesOnline helpdesk Phone: +61 7 3199 8133 Email: MyMinesOnline@resources.qld.gov.au

Screw most of the rules. National parks, crown land are owned by the tax payer !! Not the Government !!
Thanks so much. A great help for me..
Thanks Dave. Glad it was useful 😀⛏️⛏️
Great info,tgank you love
Good to see your harness setup with the CamelBak. I'm struggling with the Pro swing harness. Will try with the hip stick as well this year. Thanks for the tips :)
Very nice! Quite a subtle signal at first? What make of boots are those? I have gone through 3 pairs of boots to find some that won't interfere with my 7!
G’day Paul, thanks for the feedback. The boots are Redbacks, no metal and fairly comfortable. Rubber soles so careful around campfires 🔥 😀⛏️⛏️
Ah!! I was looking at some a couple of days ago. I ended up getting some Magnums. Expensive!!😂
Is there a compass in the app
You must have a phone/tablet that has gps. 😀⛏️⛏️
@annlynch9768 yes I have all those I just like to know again is there compass I have had this app for 5 years
Compass - only appears when the map is rotated You can rotate the map by placing your thumb and index finger on the map, and rotating them. Click the compass icon to remove the rotation.
docs.google.com/document/u/0/d/1-5LBlzFKNBZWn7LLi3sgr_TBM7J4emL-_-9nIp42d28/mobilebasic
It's not a true compass. The compass icon is only relative to the map on screen, it has no reference to the direction you are physically facing.
So you can pay for a license but you basically can’t do it anywhere ?? Wow what a scam
I am enjoying this. But question. Why don't all maps show the gold legend?? Every map I did doesn't show same information
I’m not sure Wade. Different State geologists, age of maps themselves and no room left in area to be placed on map sheet??👍
@@GoldNuggetDetecting do yourself have some queensland maps that show the reef details that you showed us on this. Was really helpful.. love your work.
No mate, sorry. Thanks for feedback. ❤
Go to a jewellery shop? Maybe

this don't even work been trying for dam hours
Hi Brett, that must be frustrating for you. Could it be because of this - “GeoResGlobe is a minerals and energy resources spatial viewer. It can be used on devices such as laptops and larger tablets. It is not available on mobile phones and smaller tablets.” If not, you may have to call their Help contact. 😀⛏️⛏️
If it is crown land how can it be sold if it is owned by the crown?
From what I’ve read, generally it is not sold but from time to time, land the government considers not for the benefit of public use is released or sold mainly for housing. In NSW, this is a link that may interest you - www.crownland.nsw.gov.au/resources/purchase-crown-land 😀⛏️⛏️
Any ideas for a gold prospecting tour in Australia!?
@asl2964 - I guess it depends what state of the country you plan to prospect. I personally haven’t done one, except a club gathering. Try a Google search for ‘gold prospecting tours in (state- WA, VIC or Qld)’. 😀⛏️⛏️

Amazing little dethatcher, lightweight that means it's easy to maneuver. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxPY9jRSMp8wL-UVmxc8ZqfQQy4QFVqhoB My son helped me and he thought it was selfprobelled, but it's not, my back yard is on a slope but had no troublegoing over it with this machine. I was quite surprised by how much dead grass it pulled out. It is so fast and easy to use. Assembly took 15 minutes. I hope it will last for years. It is a must to rejuvenate your grass. I used my lawnmower to collect the dead grass. Then went over the area again and it pulled even more dead grass then I overseeded the area. I hope it will turn out nice after all. I am really satisfied with this little monster. The pictures I added were when I went over the area for the second time.
How is your machine so stable
Hi, Bill (&Gabriel), if you mean stable as in swing … the hip stick helps a lot. Vid also shows the quick release bungee around viewer stem on 7000. 😀⛏️⛏️
@@GoldNuggetDetecting sorry i meant the threshold mine is very chatty
Mostly, I use the factory settings. For this vid, I think I didn’t have it turned on 🤔 because getting camera close up would have set it off. 😀⛏️⛏️
Great job. Thanks

So basically, the new 12 inch coil works no different than the standard 14 inch? Not worth investing in. My preference would be the 19 inch.
Michael, I personally did find the 22” NF more sensitive to small gold and lighter in weight. The 19” May suit you well but for me it is too heavy to do lengthy hours of gold detecting. 😀⛏️⛏️
OK, l guess that makes perfect sense.
