Woodturning Black Walnut Dish With Curved Tanoak Accents

I made this small 6" diameter dish out of Black Walnut & Tanoak for the accent lines. The main piece of Black Walnut is the cut-off from the last bowl I made that had the Black Walnut accent lines with the Silver Maple. The Tanoak veneers were only 1/16" thick, so I was able to use my shop iron with the steam on full to be able to bend it for the parabola shape. The absolute hardest part is getting the accent lines to line back up when gluing the next veneer in. I still have some learning to do to perfect this method, but I think that the biggest part is that the veneer thickness has to match the kerf cut of the bandsaw blade to make it all line back up together. I plan to do more work like this in the future, and I thank everyone of you for watching.
